Jim Heine did the photography for my wedding about 2 months ago, and he perfectly captured the day! His pictures were incredible.
Jim was also so easy to work with. He replied promptly to all emails and even on the day of, he was so helpful, polite, and thoughtful. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone who is looking for great, high-quality photos of their wedding.Jim Heine did the photography for my wedding about 2 months ago, and he perfectly captured the day! Jim was so easy to work with. He listened to our requests and gave us everything we wanted. He responded quickly to emails, showed up on time, dressed professionally, and was polite to all of our guests. We were unable to travel for an engagement session, but he still blew us away with the quality of his work. We felt like we had known him forever. Our wedding photos are classic yet fun, and they perfectly capture all aspects of the day. I will definitely be recommending him to all of my friends.Jim was so easy to work with. From start to finish Jim was very easy to work with. He was quick to respond to our initial inquiry and all other questions we had. He asked detailed questions to make sure we got what we were hoping for. He took his time during the engagement session and was always looking around in order to get a good, creative picture. Jim was the only shooter for our wedding and this made me nervous initially because all the weddings I was in had 2 shooters--however when we got our pictures back I was beyond happy. Jim managed to capture every meaningful moment--even the ones that were not planned. Every time I look through the album it is like we are reliving the whole day again : )From start to finish Jim was very easy to work with. I want to give Jim and his additional photographers more stars!!! We used Jim for our wedding photography and had a photobooth from him as well. He included engagement sessions with every package for FREE. What I love about Jim is that he is so incredibley passionate about his work and it truly shows in his photographs. Instantly you feel comfortable with him and he makes you feel like the most important couple in the world to him. He always goes further to get that perfect shot. Chuck assisted him on our wedding day and he was so much fun! Ask for him as a second photog if you choose to have a 2nd. Jim's photobooth is so much better than everyone else because of the PROPS! Seriously, hats, boas, seagulls, swords, glasses, mustaches, beards, cigars- There's so much stuff to have fun with. Our guests were thrilled. I am so incredibly happy with our engagement photos and I can't wait to see the wedding photos. I know for sure that he captured everything and more.

After a very thorough and wide search of wedding photographers, we hit the lottery when we found Jim Heine Photography. I stumbled on his blog, and was blown away by what I saw: emotionally resonant photos in rich colors, with creative angles, and the perfect mix of light and shadow. We met with Jim fell in love with him and his work almost instantly. Jim was professional, but personable. He was an absolute pleasure to work with during our engagement and wedding photos. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer to capture the atmosphere and emotions of our big day. We love the sneak peak of our wedding photos, which he turned around quicker than I had expected. The results are photos that are both subtle and magical at the same time. Our friends and families who have seen the photos describe his work as "stunning" and "amazing". Jim was the second shooter at my April wedding and he has an inspiring eye for detail. He even captured my husband's dimples which are hard to get in pictures. He was able to capture very unique and eye catching images and many angles! He truly captures moments and emotions!!! Jim was FANTASTIC!
We can't say enough about all his hard work and wonderful personality! He was quick to respond and had our photos done quickly. His work was incredible and detailed and overall amazing. We chose Jim because of his amazing "night work" and he more then out did himself!!

We absolutely loved working with Jim! We've heard people say on a few of our pictures that they look like they were taken out of a magazine. He was very willing to do want we wanted (including taking pictures in the rain!) and made sure that we any poses or family arrangements that we desired.We absolutely loved working with Jim! Jim photographed my April wedding in the city. I recently got all of the pictures back and they are wonderful. I had a schedule planned for the staged shots and expected those to come out well, which they certainly did. What I didn't expect was how wonderful the candid and random shots turned out - there are so many that capture the emotion perfectly of my family, friends, my husband and myself.
To put it mildly, he knows when to snap a picture.

My husband and I chose Jim after one of our friends used him for their wedding. He is an amazing photographer – the pictures were stunning and he captured so many more moments than I could have ever expected. He provided us with more than enough pictures to sift through for home-printing and developing our albums that we purchased through him. Jim was fantastic with setting up the planned/portrait poses, using light a variety of ways and shooting from unique angles for the more “artsy shots.” I was so happy with each and every image we received.
The only thing we found frustrating throughout our entire experience with Jim occurred after our wedding. His communication with us after our big day was very limited – with us having to reach out to him to get our pictures as our contracted day to receive them approached and passed. When I reached out to him, I did get an apology and a new date to expect them and this passed as well before I reached out again and finally got them. While we received the pictures only about 10 days late and I was okay with this delay, I would have expected him (as I would any other professional) to reach out before his deadline with a status-update/check-in and apology if it applies. The same occurred with our albums, where we were expecting them in January and didn’t receive them until the beginning of June. As we did with the pictures, we had to reach out to him several times to get updated. While the lateness was slightly irritating, most of my frustration spouted from the lack of communication.
Overall I would recommend Jim – the shots he took and quality of the pictures was great! I am thrilled you love the photos from the wedding! As we talked about, I'm very sorry about the delay with delivery. We had multiple very major family issues happen right around the time of your wedding and unfortunately my business, including my emails fell behind normal for a period of time. Thank you so much for your thoughts, and I'm working on backup measures for each of the points you raised in case of future life crises. Again, I apologize from the bottom of my heart.
Regarding the albums - I'm sorry you thought the albums should have been done in January. My album company took longer than normal due to an error they made. At that point the delivery was in their hands and did not wish to rush them remaking a hand-made project that will be a family heirloom. Hope you can appreciate those priorities.

It's been 19 months and I am still waiting for my albums. I paid in full and I waited months for my wedding pictures. I just wanted a good picture for my thank you notes! Now I find myself still waiting years for my albums. He is terrible at communication. He is a great photographer, but don't pay him in full and don't hire him unless he has people to get your photos and albums to you on time as promised. He didn't keep his promises in his contract and I am so disappointed.
