Where do I begin to even rate my experience with Janay? Simply put, she is phenomenal in every way. Choosing her to make my wedding gown was the best decision I made throughout my entire wedding experience. I was a little nervous about not taking the traditional route to find a gown, but I am so very glad that I took a chance and did something different. What I ended up with was a stunning hand-made one-of-a-kind gown with custom touches, a ring bearer pillow made out my mom's wedding dress and the same fabric as my dress, a gorgeous hairpiece, clutches for my girls and matching ties for all the men. I also ended up with a new friend :)

Janay is warm and inviting, beyond sweet and puts you instantly at ease. Making your dreams come true is her only motivation and she goes above and beyond to make them happen. She's easy to work with and always has a smile on her face.
Her talent speaks for itself. She is an amazing designer and seamstress. I seriously could go on and on for days singing her praises.

At the end of the day, I simply cannot imagine getting married in another dress. She made everything I wanted come to life. My dad told me I was radiant and my husband said it was the most beautiful dress he has ever seen. Don't get the idea that this is out of your budget, either. We had a modest budget for our wedding and I was able to have my dream dress for a price I could afford. Janay is very willing to work with you on the cost and make something you can cherish forever. I honestly don't want to have my dress preserved...I want to have it framed and hang it on the wall in my house! It's truly a work of art. I hate the idea of putting it in a box where no one can see it!

She will make something so magical for you that by the end of your wedding, you will feel truly honored that she worked with you. I know that I do.

I knew exactly what I wanted my dress to look like and Janay made it a reality for me. I paid more than I wanted to in the long run, but the price was still on par with ordering a dress and having to have it altered. Janay was flexible when I changed my wedding date and though I started to get nervous after a long span without any updates she responded within a reasonable time to my inquiries and, most importantly, delivered my dress on time with no problem. Janay made my wedding dress, a flower for my hair and garter. I came to her with pictures of dresses I liked and could never afford, and she designed a beautiful dress that would accommodate my budget. She is a true talent! She suggested adding details I never could have imagined that really made the dress come together. I not only got to see my dream dress become a reality, but I really enjoyed visiting Janay for dress fittings. She is just the sweetest person with a real desire to make her brides look beautiful!

Janay Andrews is about as amazing as they come. I had a vintage dress that I wanted remade into something more modern and fun. Janay thought that it would be a great project and she took my ideas and ran with them. I told her exactly what I wanted it to look like, she drew it out, we made minor adjustments and then she created it. It could not have been any closer to what I was looking for if she had pulled it directly from my head. Being that my dress was a darker cream due to its age, Janay went to New York and was able to find a material that matched perfectly. The cost was very reasonable and actually less than I would have paid to buy the pre-made dress that I had found in a bridal shop. She was always professional and fun to chat with and I would recomend her to anyone who is wanting a unique dress that no one else has.

I really enjoyed working with Janay. I wanted a somewhat non-traditional wedding gown and I wanted an artist who could listen to my ideas and run with them. She did just this, and with kindness and a big smile. I would highly recommend Janay.

Janay A. Handmade was, by far, a wonderful choice when it came to my wedding gown alterations and accessories. Janay did a fantastic job on everything and really made sure to create pieces that fit me as an individual. I had her alter my dress and create my veil, ring bearer pillow, keeper and throw garters, and the feathery, fabric flower for my hair. She did amazing on all of the pieces that she created. I had so many compliments on not only my dress, but my accessories as well. The flower for my hair was just beautiful and truly a one of a kind. Janay altered my dress to fit not only my body type, but my taste as well. She even added a light pink toole to the bottom part of the dress that you couldn't see from just looking at the dress, but was a fun pop of color for the pictures of the garter toss, my shoe shots, and dancing. Janay is talented, creative, and also the sweetest person you could ever meet. Her work was incredible and I would have been impressed with her work alone, but she was an absolute pleasure to work with. I loved going to her shop for alterations to see the progress she had made and also to visit with her. We had a blast every alteration. She is an amazing woman. I would recommend her to anyone for their wedding dress and accessory needs.... and I have. My sister used her as well. We love Janay A. Handmade!

If you are looking for a creative, sweet, and eco-chic wedding dress designer then Janay is your girl! Like a true visionary she worked with me to understand my "dream dress" and like magic she had it. Dramatic, figure flattering, and fun. My favorite part is the dress is all-a-flutter with a feathery and dainty leaf texture! All completely one-of-a kind. Plus, she was accomodating of my budget needs without limiting creativity. She also had great recommendations for shoes, accessories, and other hip and local wedding vendors.
p.s. Did I mention the dress even has hidden pockets?! So cool.

I LOVED working on my wedding dress with Janay! And of course I LOVED my dress. : ) I have received so many compliments on it and I know I have a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, original dress to cherish forever.

I live 3 hours away from Janay and she was very flexible with my schedule and fittings. I visited her once to talk about what I was looking for in my dress, we came up with a plan, then I visited her soon after for my fitting. She made a final alteration on my dress while I was there so I wouldn't have to make an extra trip. I couldn't believe how easy it was to find my dress with Janay, when I thought it would be the hardest part of my wedding planning! (I am 5'1" and trying on gowns at bridal chains was a nightmare--nothing for my size/height. Alterations alone would have cost more than my dress!) The best part about my dress is that it is three pieces: an embellished belt, a top and a skirt--so I can even wear any of them again separately. Janay also made me adorable clutches for my maid of honor/bridesmaids, a sexy-cute matching garter, and a stole, because I had a spring wedding. And my cathedral length veil was the icing on the cake!

If I didn't love my husband so much, I'd get married again just to work with Janay on another dress. : )

If it is originality you are seeking, Janay is your go-to-girl; she took what was a cookie cutter store window display dress, and catered it to my style, adding fun details (think wasabi green tulle underlay) and sparkle galore! I could NOT be more pleased with the end result... I actually teared up when she presented it to me. No only did Janay bring my dress to life, she offered suggestions for photographers and florists. She truly knows all of the tricks of the trade when it comes to weddings, and I will be forever grateful for her expertise and suggestions. She ALSO helped make suggestions as to what jewelry and shoes would be best suited for my dress. Janay is truly above and beyond. She is not only an amazing designer, but a truly caring individual who will do all in her power to make sure your special day is above and beyond even your greatest expectations. I'm not the type of gal who wanted a huge wedding dress with millions of layers and fluff. I had a really terrible time dress shopping, as you can imagine, until I met Janay. We originally planned to make a custom design dress, which fit exactly what I was looking for. She did an amazing job listening to what I wanted and creating a sketch of my vision. Then, I found my mothers wedding dress from the 70s with little expectation that anything could be done to make it more modern without ruining it. When I took it to Janay, she listened to my ideas about how we could alter it to make it perfect for my wedding day and had amazing suggestions of how to maintain its integrity through the alteration process. She was completely honest about things that could not be fixed and always had a work-around for something I didn't like. She was diligent in making sure everything about the dress was exactly what I wanted and I can say that she far exceeded my expectations as the dress turned out exactly what I was looking for. She even took some of the left over material that was cut off the sleeves of the dress and made a beautiful hair clip for me to wear in lieu of a veil. It was so very special for my mom and I to share the same dress and Janay absolutely made that happen for us. I got so many compliments at the wedding on the dress and I can never thank Janay enough for making a very special dress a true gift for my wedding day.
