Worth Every Penny and More!

I want to first mention that lighting is one of those wedding items you think you don't need. You do. Take it from me, it's worth spending on something that you're guests will experience all night long and to remove the absolute headache of doing it yourself. Steve was so helpful and he did an amazing job stringing the lights across the barn at Mount Gulian Historic Site in Beacon, NY!! The lighting made ALL of the difference and our guests could not get over how amazing the space looked!! The barn add some string lights in it already on the columns, but once Steve worked his magic it completely changed everything! He is an absolute must at Mount Gulian and anywhere else you are planning an event. His pricing is fair and the whole process was seamless!

Steve was responsive, professional, and great to work with! We absolutely loved how the lighting came out! It changed the whole mood of the room and provided the perfect amount of lighting for dancing. Pricing was very reasonable as well. Would highly recommend!

Hourglass did a wonderful job for our wedding!! We did not want to have to go through our venue or band for uplighting ($$$$) and I'm so happy I found Steve from Hourglass! The warm lighting added such a nice touch to our event when the lights went down.

Best wedding vendor ever!!

We had a wonderful experience with Hourglass Lighting - one of our favorite vendors for the wedding overall. Steve was an absolute pleasure to work with - he's responsive, friendly, and flexible. When COVID hit and we had to postpone, they gave us a heads up that most of their clients were pushing their dates out, and encouraged us to do the same. We heard so many horror stories about venues and COVID (mostly financial), so Steve's approach was most welcome. Their dance floor string lighting and amber uplighting was so stunning, we got compliments all evening. The price was extremely competitive, and the service was top notch. If you're still looking for a decorator - I'd hire Hourglass again in an instant!!!

Professional, creative, responsive, flexible vendor!

Steve and the crew at Hourglass Lighting were spectacular to work with. Steve is super responsive and was open to our ideas. He went out of his way to help us put up additional decor outside of the tent lighting, including hanging some pennant banners for us, which was really helpful in setting my mind at ease as I had a million other DIY things to deal with! The space Hourglass Lighting created outside of our tent with bistro lights was integral to the fun and success of our party, as it invited guests to explore outside of the tent. We would highly recommend working with Hourglass Lighting, and would use their services again if we ever throw another party!

Lighting transformed our venue! Amazing service! Great value! Fantastic Vendor!!!!

We hired Hourglass lighting for uplighting and pin spot lighting for centerpieces for our wedding and it transformed our venue!! After seeing pictures of wedding centerpieces with and without pin spot lighting we knew this was something that we wanted. Our wedding reception was at the Omni Providence Hotel and after doing A LOT of research and talking to WAYY too many lighting vendors we finally found Steve and knew he was our guy. Steve was super easy to work with, he is an expert in lighting and knew exactly what we needed to set the tone and ambiance for our wedding and told us what we didn't need and where we could save money. Steve told us we didn't need pin spot lighting on every table we should just do it on the tall centerpieces, cake table, and the head table to really make those spots pop. And in terms of the uplighting, he knew exactly how many we needed and where to put them and what colors to set etc. For the service, quality, and value there is no one in New England who can compete with Hourglass Lighting.

Spectacular!

Enhanced Atmosphere

Who would have thought something as simple as enhanced lighting would have created such a wonderful ambience and made the wedding highly successful. Steve provided great suggestions as to which lighting and shade of to enhance the reception. Lighting made all the difference!

Thank you so much to Steve for transforming our wedding venue with his beautiful lighting. We used the bistro strands at the Mohonk Mountain House outdoor pavilion and we were thrilled with Steve's work. The lighting completed the venue atmosphere. Beautiful lighting!

Steve did an amazing job on the lighting for my wedding! He was very responsive and easy to communicate with. When the pictures I had didn’t have the exact color I was looking for, he was able to create my vision exactly. The room looked beautiful and the color came our great in my photos. Gorgeous lights at Mohonk

Steve and Hourglass Lighting provided some amazing lighting to my June wedding up at Mohonk Mountain House. From the first email, Steve was extremely easy to work with, whether it was to let us know the various lighting options to examples of the various lighting offerings at the actual venue itself.

Once we agreed on the date and lighting option, that was the last I had to worry about it! He worked directly with the venue to show up the day before to set up so I had literally nothing to do except show up. There was a lot of things I had to worry about in planning my wedding, but this was not one of them.

I highly recommend Steve and Hourglass Lighting.

Steve from hourglass lighting was a gem to work with! He explained everything about lighting so easily to someone who knew absolutely nothing about wedding lighting. After we came to a decision about what we wanted (with Steves help), we just spoke with him a few more times and he set up the day of the wedding so simply and reliably!!! If I could give 9 million stars I would. My now husband and I planned on paying for the majority of our wedding ourselves, so when I was booking vendors I struggled so much trying to decide what my wedding actually needed, and what I was being brainwashed by the industry into thinking I needed. So being honest I struggled whether to book or not being my venue offered up lighting for a couple hundred cheaper . And when your in that wedding planning panic you with these huge numbers coming at your bCk to back to back, you loose sight of reality and at least
For me, tried to only spend where I felt absolutely necessary. It wasn’t until I read some Testimonial on Steve’s website that made me book. It said something along the lines of having a DJ/venue provide your lighting is like having your florist take pics- they can but it’s not their speciality . I booked and I can confidently say it was the best decision I made. You don’t even realiZe how much the lighting sets the tone for the ambiance and overall vibe of your event. And needless to say Steve blew away my expectations. Steve was just a genuine joy to work with. He was so understanding to my hectic schedule as a nurse and worked with my hours to communicate whenever I needed. He helped me form the vision I wanted but didn’t know how to put into words. I could honestly go on for yours giving him accolades. All I can Say if for brides crunching numbers and trying to figure out what you absolutey need and dont, hiring Steve was single-handledly one of the best decisions I ever made. Ant other wedding I’ve ever been too, the uplighting was so intense, any picture I personally took was drowned out by whatever color the newlyweds chose . Everything else concerning uplifting that I’ve ever seen Seemed tacky and harsh. Mine was so beautiful it literally brought tears to my eyes when I was able to first walk in my venue . By the time our wedding arrived, Steve truly felt like family!! He and his crew were so easy to work with and the lighting pulled our entire venue together. Steve provided suggestions and worked with us to turn our tented reception into a dream come true. We received compliments all night and even our venue commented they had never seen their tent look so beautiful! Would highly recommend!!

We have used Hourglass Lighting for our past two annual fundraising events. Each event had a specific theme and Hourglass Lighting was able to provide lighting that matched each theme perfectly! The first event was a winter theme. Hourglass Lighting used blue lighting with white snowflakes. The lighting made the room and the guests loved the ambiance the lighting created! The second event’s theme was “Havana Nights”. Again, Hourglass Lighting picked out a perfect lighting scheme! The lighting pulled together all of the decorations and made the room feel like you were in a tropical paradise in the middle of the Fall. Thank you Hourglass Lighting!!!

The first word that came to mind when I saw the lighting at my daughter's wedding venue, the Pavilion at Mohonk Mountain House, was SPECTACULAR! Steve Fernandez of Hourglass Lighting did an outstanding job of creating a "magical" ambiance that was in perfect balance with the overall beauty of the outdoor pavilion and its natural surroundings.

Flowers are important but the proper lighting makes the wedding! The uplighting gave the room warmth and depth. The pin lighting showcased the beautiful arrangements we had on the tables along with the wedding cake. The room was totally transformed and beautiful! This is the second wedding we have used Steve because he is flexible, creative, and reliable. Thank you for making the wedding so special!

After many visits to our venue, we knew we needed Uplighting on our big day (truly - see your venue with and without it!!). Hourglass was so easy to work with, and really one of the most behind the scenes parts of our day. I've never met them in person, I didn't see them the day of, but in the end, they made our space look perfect and it was one less thing to worry about!

Steve could not have been more accommodating in working with us to provide an exceptional lighting experience. We were very specific as to what we wanted and had to overcome some technical challenges within the venue. Steve was creative, and at the same time pragmatic as to what we were able to accomplish. The wedding was spectacular - and since flowers and lighting are what create the atmosphere, Steve and his team gave us an incredibly memorable day. From a logistics point of view, the team was reliable, communicative and overall fantastic. I could not be more enthusiastic about recommending Steve and endorsing him and his company.

THE BEST OF THE BEST! Steve of hourglass lighting is absolutely phenomenal to work with! I wanted the lighting to look a specific and unique way and I had many questions during the process. Steve was right there answering all of my questions with lightening fast speed. I had never felt so confident in booking a vendor before. He was even answering my questions during nights and weekends! He was such a great help during the whole process and even assisted me with areas that was beyond his call of duty. I wanted to rent wine barrels for our ceremony and didn't know who to ask and where to get them. Steve recommended where I could find them in the area - this was truly above and beyond. The day of I was so excited to see the lighting and let me tell you the lighting was beyond our wildest expectations it was so so so completely gorgeous, it made the entire venue come alive !!! We were on a tight budget and at first debating if we should add the lighting since lets face it lighting is not as important as the food on your plate but wow what a phenomenal decision it was. The lighting really made the entire party and I can't imagine my wedding would have been half as good without it. This is an investment SO well worth it, if you are at all considering lighting for your wedding, do yourself a favor and hire Steve! Regardless of whatever venue you picked he will make it 100 times more beautiful. We couldn't have been any happier, Steve you are a super star! A million thanks from a very happy bride and groom!

I chose Hourglass Lighting to provide services for both my ceremony and reception at The Doral Arrowwood. Hourglass Lighting provided pipe & drape for my (a white backdrop) and blush lighting for my ceremony, which helped to create the romantic setting I was looking for. For the reception, they provided purple uplighting which illuminated the room and provided a party atmosphere (my guests raved about how beautiful the room looked)! Hourglass lighting was extremely easy to work with creating less stress for me on the day of. I communicated via e-mail with Steve who was very helpful in my decision making process and always timely in his responses. The cost was reasonable compared to other vendors. The process was seamless and the lighting helped make our day perfect! Steve was great to work with and we highly recommend Hourglass Lighting for any lighting services.

Steve did a great job with the lighting at our Roundhouse wedding. He was significantly less expensive than the other vendors we considered, and we were very happy with how everything turned out. He was responsive and helpful by email leading up to the wedding. Definitely recommended!

We chose to work with Hourglass Lighting for our wedding at the Mohonk Mountain House on memorial day weekend 2016. The results were absolutely stunning and blew away our expectations.

The lighting designer Steve Fernandez was familiar with the Mohonk and had designed there before many times. The dinner was at the Pavilion, a large, stone-pillared roofed open area the size of a barn. Our vision was for stringed festoon lights to create a fairy-tale like wedding. Steve worked closely with us on our site visit and through many calls to talk through how to enact our vision. Steve was very knowledgeable, creative and hard-working. He was also mindful of the electricity output and worked directly with the other vendors.

When we arrived at the dinner after the cocktail hour, we were stunned with how beautiful the lights were. It was the perfect amount of light; a romantic atmosphere and not too dark or light. The stringed lights were truly dream-like and incredibly beautiful. Steve had said there was a generator running but we didn’t hear anything. It was also good value based on the cost of similar lighting arrangements, and well worth the cost. We are so pleased with Hourglass Lighting and strongly recommend them.

Steve was amazing! We told him we wanted an autumn theme with orange and reds and he even incorporated leaves on the ceiling of our tent! It was amazing all our guests thought it fit the thee perfectly. Steve was also extremely easy to work with and also quickly answered my questions! Steve was a pleasure to work with!!! We were skeptical about using lighting since our wedding was in the prime of summer but we are so glad that went through with working with Hourglass Lighting. The lighting at our wedding was AMAZING and really made our reception look different and beautiful. The lighting truly helps to create a different atmosphere! Steve brought to life the wedding of our dreams! My husband and I got married at the grandview in Poughkeepsie, NY overlooking the beautiful Hudson Riiver this past August. With the sunset being later in the evening I wanted to create the sunset experience in the ballroom for my guests. Steve was very helpful in picking the right candlelight color and feel we wanted. When I walked into the ballroom the day of the wedding I was blown away. I was definitely nervous because of course you want it to be perfect and Steve made it incredible simple and easy and of course perfect! Thank you Steve your the best!

Hourglass lighting was incredible! When I contacted the company, the owner replied quickly and offered to work out a payment plan because we booked him late in the planning process. We used this vendor because our venue has worked with them repeatedly and we know why! Amazing! Lighting is a must have at your wedding! It transforms the entire evening. Our big day was absolutely stunning and everyone is still talking about how magical the room was. I would highly recommend this company!

Steve, of Hourglass Lighting, was terrific to work with and provided excellent service for my daughter's wedding at The Garrison, in Garrison, New York. My daughter wanted the decorative lighting touch over the dance floor of hanging white lanterns. We had despaired of being able to find a vendor who could provide the artistic look desired at an affordable price, until we found Steve. He suggested silk, rather than paper, lanterns for a very classy and artistic overall look which he achieved with his unique magnetic hanging system. The end result was perfect! We would recommend him to anyone without reservation!

My husband and I held our reception at the Grandview and with over 300 guests attending we needed a little something extra to create the club/party vibe ww were going. Our sales coordinator recommended Hourglass Lighting, and after seeing samples of other things events they've done at the Grandview it was a no-brainer.

For anyone wondering about cost, the difference financially between DJ uplighting and Hourglass Lighting was minimal, but the end results are incomparable!

(Having a DJ provide lighting is like having your florist take the pictures; sure they CAN do it, but it's not their specialty.)

At first I wasn't sure if I should do lighting for my sons baptism. I'm so glad I did, the room looked amazing really breathtaking. I worked in center pieces for weeks and last min something went wrong but I didn't stress over it so much because just the lighting itself was enough to really set the mood for the party. All my guest complimented me on great the venue looked. And see all the pictures afterwords the lighting is truly amazing. From the moment I called Hourglass my phone calls and emails were taken care of immediately and very professionally. It was such a pleasure working with them.

Hourglass Lighting did a BEAUTIFUL job at our autumn wedding at Bear Mountain Inn, NY. Our outdoor ceremony kicked off at 6pm, and in mid-October. We knew the sun would be setting, and wanted to be prepared in case it was too dark to see us! Thank goodness we made the decision to have lighting done because by the time the ceremony wrapped up it was nearly pitch black out!
Steve provided string lights for our ceremony, and it was absolutely perfect. It added so much ambience and just looked cool. He also added some string lighting and up lighting to our reception which also made a world of difference in the room.
Beyond the fantastic decor, Steve was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Well worth it!!

We were married at Catlin Gardens. Our theme was "fall in love". Steve transformed the room. It really felt romantic with the amber up lighting and the fall leaf lighting on the dance floor. It was absolutely amazing!!

Steve was a great person to work with for our uplighting and floor monogram. He came to our reception site to show us how our room would look and test out different colors to pick what fit best. He was easy to work with and personable. Everytime I called he always said "Hi Paul" which made it nice cause I always felt like he paid attention and knew who I was. You don't get a lot of that from a lot of vendors. The lighting was wonderful & made our room look beautiful. Our floor monogram came out great, as well. He also uplit our sweetheart table. Steve himself came & set up our room which was a nice touch. I'd highly recommend him.

Steve was great! He was so easy to talk to and made it all very simple. He was very fast to respond with any and all thoughts and questions I had. He was a pleasure to work with. He came in on the day of set everything up as it needed to be and after the event he came back and took it down. I received a lot of compliments on his work - the uplighting pulled the room together. With the colors of the linens, the candles and the glow from the uplighting the room had such an elegant warmness to it. It was beautiful! Hourglass Lighting was great!!

My husband thought I was crazy when I said I wanted lighting at our reception and that it was an unnecessary cost, but after seeing our reception room he couldn't have imagined it any different. Our lighting pretty much made the look and feel of our wedding. We are beyond impressed with the services provided by Steve at Hourglass. It truly transformed the room. It was so beautiful it is hard to describe. David Tutera himself couldn't have made that room any better. The lighting took the room from a nice pretty banquet hall room to making you feel like you were in a celebrity wedding. I would definitely recommend this service to every single bride, ever.

Professional, punctual, and awesome results!! Doing uplighting made the biggest, most dramatic difference for our reception. We also did a tree light in the background, almost in the ceiling area. This was an incredible value for the difference it makes in decor & ambiance. A common concern must be that uplights, since theyre on the floor, may not look so great. No worries here! Steve set up the uplights behind the baffels (little white stands that cover the uplights)-this happens to be how he typically sets them up. Steve was terrific to deal with from a customer service perspective and for the results!! We highly recommend using this company for lighting!!

Hourglass lighting is a top notch organization!

Steve, the owner of the company, was very accommodating and easy to work with. He listened to our requests for lighting and made sure we got the exact colors that we wanted for our room. He was nice enough to allow me to come to one of his other events prior to my wedding so he could show me in person how our color would look - this was much appreciated.

The pricing is competitive and our my opinion, you get great value for what you pay. The amber uplighting we chose was a perfect compliment to our fall color theme and really brought the room to life for the reception.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Steve and we highly recommend him and his services for weddings and/or any other special events.

Steve from Hourglass Lighting was fantastic! He still did our lighting even though he had another wedding. He came and set up early. The pricing was great and the quality was excellent. He was very easy to get in touch with while planning and gave me some great ideas since I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted with the lighting. Steve, of Hourglass Lighting, was a complete joy to work with and so incredibly accommodating. I can be rather indecisive and he was more than willing to work with every single change that I made. In the end, we opted for pink uplighting in the ballroom of our wedding reception and are so incredibly happy that we did. We had a vision and without Hourglass Lighting, it would not have been realized. I can honestly say that our wedding would not have been the same without Steve's gorgeous lighting. Steve was really awesome to work with. We had our wedding in a barn on the heels of two other events in the same space. Steve and the team at Hourglass Lighting were such a pleasure to work with! We originally weren't sure if we wanted uplighting but decided the space needed it and I'm so glad we did! As a last minute vendor of ours they were extremely responsive and on their game. They're a preferred vendor of The Grandview where we got married and rightfully so - they do a fantastic job! We were on the fence about adding the bistro lights at our venue but we were so so glad we did! They looked fantastic and really added to the feel of the wedding. It's a father & son team. They were very nice, the father did not try to rip you - he was very honest. The son was very quiet, but helpful. Overall, I love the lighting they provided for my special night.

Hourglass lightening was able to make the massive space for my wedding intimate with a warm glow. The venue would not have had the same feel without. The lightening was my highest priority and came out beautifully. In my opinion it can make or break a venue and is well worth the investment.

Hourglass Lighting provided additional lighting for my barn-style wedding. Steve and his team did an amazing job with the lighting set up in the barn and gave it the exact feel we were looking for. His lighting setup helped create a warm, comfortable environment for us and our guests. He worked closely with us to make sure the setup was exactly the style we were looking for. My wedding was in the tent at West Hills. Being that it is a large white tent, it really did need some accent lighting. Steve helped advised me on the color and it fit in great. My only complaint is that it didn't look as full is it did in the photos where it appeared like there was more lighting.
