Joe Homsy is not only a great photographer who took great photos at our wedding but also a customer-oriented professional who would listen to our ideas and accommodate to our needs. Three weeks before our wedding, we changed our mind and decided to have an engagement session. He happily accepted our last minute request, took many great photos for us and delivered them in time for our wedding needs.

Also, Joe is a nice and fun person. My husband and I felt very comfortable and relaxed when taking photos with him. It was always fun taking pictures with him. We can tell Joe is really into photography and passionate about seeking different scenery to make shots perfect. He also spent a lot of time to process our wedding photos before he gave them to us. We highly recommended Joe as a wedding photographer!

We love Joe. He's such a nice guy and as far as I can tell, he genuinely enjoys his work. We (not Joe) got a little behind schedule but he stayed cool, made it all work. He coordinated wonderfully with the makeup artist, the church, the catering manager, the dj...and he was NEVER in the way. As to his photos: OMG, he is amazing!!!! This is the second wedding he's done for our family, so obviously we really like his work. I highly recommend Joe Homsy!

My husband and I strongly recommend Joe Homsy for Wedding Photography. Joe is a very experienced photographer, and when it comes to your wedding, experience is what you need. My husband and I met with Joe and talked about our wedding and our theme, and his ideas were exactly what we were looking for. On the day of our wedding, we had all our trust in Joe to take beautiful pictures. And he did!! Our wedding album is STUNNING. Joe has a very artistic eye for beautiful shots. My experience with Homsy Photography was fantastic! Joe is clearly passionate about his work and it's evident in the process. I've always believed that you should hire the person that is going to take care of you and your best interest - the epxert. That is why you aren't having your cousing take polaroids, right? Joe is a phenomenal artist and I couldn't be happier with my wedding album/photos. I highly recommend using Joe as your wedding photographer.

We shopped around and met many bay area photographers. We narrowed a long search down to two vendors and we liked Joe's work and the listed price for Joe was lower so we went with him. Joe was hired to do our engagement shoot and day of wedding and he agreed to help us with our save the date cards.

Relationship
Joe is friendly and good-natured. He didn't seem interested in my vision for the day of photography. On our meeting to sign the contract, I brought him a list of photos I wanted to make sure we captured and he glanced at it and handed it back to me. He didn't seem to be used to working with a young couple who were a bit directive. Joe seemed more concerned with his relationship with other professionals then his relationship with us- he neglected to give us contact information or allow us to speak with other professionals involved in our photo development (print shop, etc.).

Pricing
Initially Joe seemed to be even priced with other vendors and he was flexible with us regarding location of photo shoot etc. After our engagement photos we wanted to obtain the disc with the photos and he told us it would be $450.00 (on top of the price we paid for the actual engagement shoot)! He also printed photo cards for us and they didn't meet our expectations, we eventually got great looking reprinted copies to mail out (which went out weeks later than scheduled) but he still charged us the full amount.

I would describe Joe's photos as traditional. They are elegant and clean cut.

In the end our relationship with Joe was strained. Between the pricing that we felt was snuck in and conflict with third party vendors that he was using who were not producing a quality product and the overall lag in turnaround time, we decided to go with a different photographer. Joe did not give us our deposit back (we weren't surprised).

In the end we booked the other photographer we wanted in the beginning. She ended up being the most incredible vendor we worked with. Our relationship with her blossomed and we always knew what we were getting and felt like she genuinely cared about our lasting memories and making sure we had a positive experience. As uncomfortable and difficult as the transition was, we know we made the right decision.

Again Joe is a friendly person with nice photography work but make sure all the pricing is outlined in your contact for the photos. He'd probably work well with a couple that's more on the passive side.

We LOVED Joe! He did an engagement shoot as well as our wedding and his photos are AMAZING! Our only problem was that now we have way too many favorite pictures to choose from. :) I highly recommend using Homsy Photography, you will get consistant quality. In our search, there definitely were other photographers that were cheaper but I would NOT have forgiven myself if I choose someone else. He had our prints ready only a week or two after the wedding and every single one was photoshopped to make it the best print possible. I want all 700 of them! The pictures will last forever, you want them to look good right? Definitely give him a call!

Joe was wonderful to work with. Both our engagement photos and our wedding album were amazing! He was a joy to work with and very flexible. He was also very fast with getting our photos done after the ceremony so that we weren't away from the party for too long.

Joe's photos were excellent; we had such a hard time deciding which to put in our wedding album because we loved them all! His un-retouched proofs would have made a good wedding album, but his photoshop work on the proofs made them top-rate. He captured the most candid moments of our wedding as well as provided photo journalistic and group shots of our family and friends. The very high quality of his photos and service were worth more than we paid.

We used Joe for our engagement photos, our wedding, and after the birth of our son for a family photo. We have had a wonderful experience with Joe. He is personable, reliable and most importantly produces fantastic work.

The only thing I would note is Joe is a bit of a character; it took us the first meeting to get use to his personality, style and humor, but once we did we loved him. He even laughed when some of our tipsy wedding guests borrowed his camera without telling him and took their own photos with it.

Joe was not the least expensive photographer we interviewed, but he was far from the most expensive. We found him to have terrific value for a reasonable price.

We highly recommend Joe, and plan on continuing to use him for future family events.
