I can't possibly imagine a better wedding planning experience than we had at the Heinz History Center! From our very first meeting with Maura, we knew that we were in good hands. She provided expert information for us when needed, calmed our nerves, and was always an email or phone call away. She met with us according to our schedules, and was always readily available. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect, and we owe it all to Maura, Cara, and the rest of the team at the Heinz History Center! Couldnt recommend them any more strongly.
My husband and I booked the Heinz History Center for our wedding and reception. We had our ceremony and reception on the 1st floor great hall and cocktail hour in the 4th floor Campbell gallery. One of the BEST decisions we made about our wedding was booking this venue!! When we first started thinking about venues we did a search on Google and the history center popped up in the search results. As soon as we saw the pictures, we knew it would be the perfect place for us so we contacted them immediately. We spoke with Maura Minteer and she was the most helpful and fun person we have ever dealt with. We would like to send Maura a very special thank you for everything!! You, Maggie from Common Plea catering, and Ashley were outstanding!!! Any question we had was answered in a very timely manner and you helped keep us together, at ease, and organized throughout the entire wedding planning process. The 6th floor bridal suite was spectacular and a very fun place to relax the morning and afternoon of the wedding as my maid of honors, mother, mother in law and I got ready for the big day. We have received multiple comments and compliments on the venue and one of the common comments is, "your wedding was so unique, fun and one of the best weddings I have ever been to!" It was great, and so perfect for us since we are not your typical bride and groom. We feel comfortable in recommending the history center to anyone and everyone! You will not be disappointed. Thanks so much again!!
I would recommend the Heinz History Center to EVERY bride! Yes, the space is simply gorgeous and has a perfect layout for any wedding. From the set up and table size options, to indoor/outdoor combinations, to the endless opportunities to make the space unique...the space is absolutely wonderful. BUT, the staff is the highlight of the facility for me! Maura and Ashley were the most professional coordinators I have ever worked with. They were quick to respond, flexible with our schedule and last minute changes, SO helpful in the set up and tear down, honest in giving their experienced opinions...I could never say enough nice things about the staff. My family even had an emergency the week of, that forced the wedding the take a back seat just two days before....when I received a phone call from Maura, I thought it was wedding related. But it wasn't...she was kind enough to check-in on us, and offer any help she could to make our week easier. I don't know any other coordinator that goes above and beyond in that way. They also worked with our other vendors to make the day as smooth and as easy as possible. They coordinated timelines and schedules and put as little work on my plate as possible.
The Heinz History Center, in my opinion, is the greatest venue in Pittsburgh.
The Heinz History Center was the perfect location for our wedding reception! As newcomers to Pittsburgh, my husband and I knew we'd need a unique spot to lure all our out of town friends and family to our big day- and the History Center did not disappoint. Our guests loved the trolley car and roller coaster in the Great Hall- and you certainly don't need to worry too much about decorations with such an interesting backdrop. Cara was a pleasure to work with- she was flexible and patient and very responsive. Even during my most ridiculous freak-out moments during the 12 month planning process, she was reassuring and always had great suggestions. The entire team was a class act. The event ran so smoothly that if anything went even slightly wrong, I had no idea! If you are looking for a fun, unique venue and a team you can trust will deliver on your special day, look no farther!
Our wedding reception at the Heinz History Center was an absolutely wonderful evening. Planning and coordinating with them was always easy and Cara the event coordinator we worked with was always helpful, easy to get a hold of and happy to answer and reanswer any questions. The whole evening there went so smoothly and everything was beautiful!
We had the most wonderful experience with the Heinz History Center! Maura insured our day ran perfectly and was always available to assist us with planning. She always answered my emails promptly and put me at ease. The event space is incredible and they know how to throw a great party! We had our cocktail hour in the great hall and our reception in the Mueller ballroom!
Our wedding at the history center was absolutely perfect! Maura is a dream to work with and they exceeded all of our expectations. Maura was always available to talk about our big day and she always made me feel at ease. The whole team is fantastic and while make your wedding dreams a reality! We had our cocktail hour in the great hall and our reception up in the Mueller Ballroom!
Working with Maura was absolutely amazing. The venue was beautiful and they were all super professional. The history center typically hosts two weddings a night (downstairs in the Great Hall and upstairs in the Mueller room) and we had the Great Hall location. Two of the bridesmaids from the 2nd wedding actually crashed ours and Maura and her team quickly escorted them out without too many guests noticing (and while my husband and I laughed watching).
I loved using them and the history center is a beautiful venue for an offbeat space.
Hosting our wedding reception at the Heinz was the perfect choice. Not only was their staff responsive and professional, but they were extremely personable, which helped us greatly as most of the initial planning was done from out-of-town. As far as a unique and visually entertaining venue, it exceeded our expectations. Our guests - most visiting from out of town - are still buzzing about the event.
Wonderful service, extremely professional and knowledgable at job
Beautiful venue and a great place to keep guests entertained. Maura was outstanding to work with and the evening was perfect.
Heniz History Center was an amazing venue to hold our son's Rehearsal Dinner. Being out-of-town, it was so easy to work with Ashley who had great ideas and suggestions. Wish we lived in Pittsburgh to hold more events there.
The Heinz History Center was an absolute amazing location for a wedding ceremony and reception. Not only is the venue beautiful but so are the people. Everyone that we worked with was so pleasant and informative. They took their time working with us an made sure that our day was extra special. Maura and her staff where so great. They kept me calm on a crazy day and made me feel like their family. I can not say thank you enough for everything they did for my husband and I on this special day.
Ashley K. at Heinz History Center was amazing at managing our event. We used the library, Campbell Gallery and the Great Hall for our wedding spaces, and everything went so smoothly and looked even more beautiful than I had imagined. Everyone at Heinz was amazing at helping with set up and working to make sure we had everything we needed, especially since we had brought a lot of our own decorations in. Simply amazing. I would work with them again anytime!
The Heinz History Center is such a great venue. If you are looking for a very unique location to host a wedding and/or reception, definitely consider the History Center.
My wife and I recently used Heinz History Center as our ceremony location and reception location. We got married in the Library & Archives Reading Room on the 6th floor. This is a beautiful space with warm tones, exposed brick, wooden beams, an amazing view of downtown through large picture windows, and an overall great look and feel. It made for a very intimate ceremony that truly felt special. Our reception and cocktail hour was held in the Great Hall on the 1st floor. This space is also really beautiful and offers such a unique look and feel to the night. Because you are surrounded by great architectural details and great artifacts (vintage cars, an old Pittsburgh streetcar/trolley, etc.), all of the tiny details really come to life.
Then there's Maura, the events coordinator. She was AMAZING to work with during the entire planning process! Any questions that we had, she was always ready to give us an answer. Maura was always willing to meet with us in person whenever we needed clarification on details or just wanted to get another look at the venue. She was really great about coordinating the delivery and pickup of various items from our other vendors. She did an awesome job with coordinating the setup of our escort card table, gift/card box table, etc.; everything was beautiful. Because of Maura, the stress level associated with planning/coordinating the day was extremely minimal. We can't thank her enough!!!
Maura, Ashley, & Eric were all fantastic to work with! They were very helpful & supportive in carrying out any ideas we had for decorations, and if it was something they weren't able to do directly, they provided information as to who would be best to contact. They worked seamlessly with our other vendors to take a lot of stress off of us & make sure our event was perfect!
