From the start, the communication with the Heinz History Center was fantastic. They led us through the entire process very clearly and cleanly, answered our myriad of questions and requests, and were extremely accommodating to what we wanted! We utilized the lobby floor for both our ceremony and reception, and that location should not be looked over as a beautiful space to host your event.
We did cycle through two wedding planners before ending with our third, as the other two were apparently offered great opportunities in other spaces that they could not pass up. I believe this, as all three people we worked with were incredibly professional, communicative and responsive. Each time we were passed off to another planner, there was a meeting scheduled to make sure all the notes were accurate and every detail was covered and communicated.
The only negative I would mention about this location is their use of an exclusive caterer. I understand and appreciate the reason for doing so, but the lack of choice of food and then the cost of said food was something that became the only sore spot for the day.
Highly recommend this venue!! -

Heinz History Center was an absolute dream venue for our wedding day! From our very first tour with their coordinator Shelby, we knew it was the perfect place to get married. Shelby is absolutely amazing. She was beyond professional and helpful from day one! Every single detail is so well thought out at Heinz and it made the entire process so easy and stress free. We knew we were in the best hands possible and that allowed us to just show up and enjoy the weekend. Shelby and her team flawlessly executed every detail and made it all so easy and streamlined. Shelby coordinated with our wedding planner and all the vendors so well. On the day of, everything was taken care of. Shelby and her team had thought of everything from little essential baskets in our getting ready rooms to packing up all of our belongings at the end of the night. Our guests haven’t stopped texting and calling us to gush over how amazing the venue and the entire experience was. We would re-live the entire day over again if we could. We’ll forever be grateful for the time, energy, and care Shelby and her team poured into our special day! -

From the moment we booked at Heinz History Center, we were treated perfectly. We were lucky enough to be placed with Shelby Starks, who not only is the sweetest human I have ever met, but also the most organized and helpful day-of coordinator we could have asked for. Shelby assisted us with every single detail from our wedding, including helping us plan and coordinate with our other vendors as well to ensure our day was perfect. If I could do my wedding again, I would book it at Heinz History Center, and I would ask for Shelby. From the planning sessions, to holding my train as I walked down the stairs to the aisle, to helping me put on my reception shoes because I couldn't bend over, Shelby and her team at the Heinz History Center are experts and will make any bride's vision come to life. We cannot thank the History Center or Shelby enough. -

We had an amazing wedding at the History Center and can’t recommend the team enough. Shelby was so thoughtful and on top of things. She made the process seamless and gave me such confidence on the day of since I didn’t have a wedding planner. We met multiple times leading up to the wedding to coordinate the details and she was extremely responsive and flexible. -

Sandi and her team at the Heinz History Center were incredible to work with. Sandi was extremely responsive, helped us carve out the timeline and was always there for questions. The venue was so unique our guests really enjoyed it, especially the free admission to the museum being that we had so many out of town guests. Having the bridal grand entrance down the staircase in the Great Hall was incredible. From start to finish, this was our dream day and wedding venue. We can’t thank Sandi and her team enough -

We could not have asked for a better wedding experience than what we had at Heinz History Center! We were planning from out of town, so access to Sandi, our wedding coordinator saved us. She simplified the process to a finite amount of decisions so I didn’t feel like I had to reinvent the wheel of wedding planning. She also kept us out of all the details on the actual day and maximized our time just enjoying ourselves. She even kept me calm mid ceremony when my veil fell out! All of their staff, down to security were so friendly and excited for us. HHC uses one caterer (common plea) that was a big hit amongst guests. The venue itself has so much charm (while we asked for minimal ketchup content, the opportunity is there!). It a cool industrial feel with a big ballroom for larger weddings, outdoor area for cocktail hour. Even the rooms we got ready in were a vibe! It is also centrally located near so many hotels and fun areas. None of our guests rented cars but were able to explore the strip/north shore/market square, and downtown so easily! 10/10 would recommend! -

Sandi & the HHC team are the best!
Working with Sandi was an absolute pleasure. When my wife and I set out for wedding planning, we knew we wanted to find a venue that had a planner and afforded the ability to take some stress off of our plate. To say Sandi did that would be an understatement. Throughout the process she was checking in with us, providing recommendation and staying on top of our vendors. Every time that we left a meeting with Sandi we felt relief knowing she had everything covered.
On the day of our wedding both Sandi and Kaylin were in communication with us every step of the away to make sure things went smoothly. I truly couldn’t have imagined everything on the day of going as well as it did. Knowing how much there was to coordinate, it was amazing how little of it needed our intervention.
We definitely feel that the HHC was good value for our money. Even without Sandi, having the full venue for our wedding was such a cool experience for us and our guests. Adding Sandi and all that she did on top of it made it a no brainer. -

May HHC Wedding
My husband and I got married May 2025 at the HHC. Cassie and her team are the most professional team you can work with. They organize everything you can think of and truly make your wedding day (and months before!!) as stress free as possible. I got constant questions asking how I was so calm and I attribute a lot of that to Cassie and all her support.
The History Center is a wonderful venue with a unique layout that lends to a great party. The team executes it perfectly too! If you are looking for a unique and fun Pittsburgh venue - I highly recommend! -

We are so incredibly glad we chose Heinz History Center as our venue!! We chose this venue because its uniqueness and its true Pittsburgh feel. Each part of the event can be held on separate floors, which makes it fun for guests! Our ceremony was in the library, cocktail hour on the floor with the big ketchup bottle, and the reception in their first floor great hall. Aside from it being a fun, exciting venue, the staff is AMAZING. Sandi did such a fantastic job guiding us through the entire wedding process. From the first tour all the way to the big day, Sandi was always available to answer my thousands of questions and help with planning. When I say the event went seamlessly, I mean absolutely 0 issues- everything went even better than planned. Sandi made sure every one of our vendors were aligned and guided everyone through the day. Everyone at HHC truly helped us have the most incredible wedding. If they’re on your list of potential venues, I recommend booking, you won’t regret it!! -

Heinz History Wedding
We selected the Heinz History Center for our wedding, mainly because of Sandi. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. From the moment we met her, she exuded warmth and made us feel completely at ease. Sandi's attention to detail was impeccable, leaving us stress-free and able to fully enjoy our special day.
Additionally, the venue itself had a charming atmosphere that added to the overall experience. The historical setting provided a unique backdrop for our celebration, creating a memorable ambiance that we and our guests appreciated.
In reflection, we cannot emphasize enough how Sandi's dedication and professionalism truly elevated our wedding day. Her commitment to ensuring everything ran smoothly and her personal touch made all the difference. We wholeheartedly recommend Heinz History Center and, especially, Sandi for anyone looking for a venue and coordinator that truly care about making your day special. -

The HHC was the PERFECT venue for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Planning with the venues event coordinator, Sandi Flowers, went as smooth as wedding planning could possibly go! She was so professional, attentive and truly a delight to have with us through wedding planning and day of. I cannot say enough good things about Sandi and the rest of the staff at the HHC. We were blown away at how everything came together so perfectly, in large part due to Sandi's incredible hard work. The caterer, Common Plea, was also a 10/10. Fabulous food- we received SO compliments on the food and the uniqueness of the venue. We could not be happier with our choice in venue. -

Amazing in every way!
We had our wedding at Heinz in the Fall and honestly it was the best experience we could have asked for. Our coordinator was Cassie Horrell, and she really made the whole wedding planning and day of easy and magical. She always had an answer for all our questions, she gave us guidance on what we might be forgetting, and she coordinated the day of exactly how we discussed. We were so pleased with the Great Hall for our ceremony and reception, and the Campbell gallery for cocktails. The guests all raved to us how much fun they thought the venue was and how smoothly everything went. We absolutely could not be happier with our experience. Thank you so much! -

We had an amazing experience at the HHC for our wedding! We utilized the Great Hall on the first floor for our cocktail hour and the Mueller Ballroom on the 5th floor for our main reception. Movement of guests between the two places only took 10-15 minutes (~160 guests). Both spaces were stunning and decorated beautifully and the HHC offers so many upgrades for decorations which only add to the experience!
Our event coordinator Sandi made the experience a breeze. She was so kind, helpful, and attentive from our first meeting to tour the space through all of our planning meetings. She made it easy to not stress week-of because she coordinated everything with our other vendors! The day of the wedding, Sandi and her team were amazing - making sure everything ran smoothly, making sure everyone had what they needed, and she even helped to bustle my dress!
Our wedding day was perfect and the Heinz History Center was a huge part of that. If we could rate them an 11/10, we would!!! We definitely recommend the space for any event! -

Although I'm already married now, in every other life I would still choose to get married at the Heinz History Center (HHC)!!! From the moment I reached out for an inquiry to the last few minutes of our reception, everything was the best possible experience. Our 230 person wedding would not have been possible without our AMAZING coordination Sandi Flower. From the smallest details like how we wanted our napkins folded to general timeline and layout for the day, she went so far above and beyond to deliver that it makes me emotional. The HHC staff (and their permanent vendors Common Plea Catering and Mosaic Linens) is the epitome of professional. I would scream from the rooftops their praises if I could because I was that blown away by the quality of work that was delivered. I've been to and attended many weddings in my life, but mine truly exceeded all my hopes and expectations! -

Amazing venue and fantastic coordinator
Heinz History Center was amazing to have our wedding at. It was so interactive and had our guests out of their seats and exploring the whole venue. So many people told us it was their favorite venue they ever have been to. I was hesitant at first with having to use Common Plea as the food vendor, but in all honesty it made things so much easier. I didn’t have to spend extra time interviewing catering companies. Common Plea’s food and staff were all amazing. Even if I had a choice Common Plea would have been it
Our wedding coordinator, Sandi, was absolutely amazing. She was so responsive and helpful. She really helped us curate an amazing and beautiful day. We couldn’t have been luckier to work with Sandi. Even if you are unsure of the venue, know that Sandi and the rest of the staff will make sure your day is truly flawless. We had zero issues and everyone there worked so well. As I am someone who does not enjoy planning weddings, Sandi and her staff made it so easy and even fun. Heinz History Center is a no brainer to use as your venue! -

The Heinz History Center was an absolute dream venue for our wedding on 11.18.2023! We rented out the 6th Floor Library & Archives for our Ceremony, the 4th Floor Campbell Gallery for Cocktail Hour, and the 1st Floor Great Hall for our Reception. The Heinz History Center crew seamlessly and efficiently moved our guests from space to space – our guests even commented on the ease of transitioning from event to event! Each space was unique and beautiful! Additionally, we rented the 3rd Floor Discovery Place Exhibit and attached Multipurpose Room to use for childcare – we loved having this perfect space for the childcare company to use, the parents were extremely appreciative to have this option available, and the kids had such a wonderful time!
Our Event Coordinator was Sandi Flower, and WOW she is special! Her knowledge, expertise, and willingness to accommodate us were out of this world! Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Sandi was available for questions & requests, and she truly made the process easy and fun! Sandi was very accommodating, including moving our bar into the foyer area despite pushback from other vendors! She also helped us to avoid additional fees – she accommodated early load in & late load out times for one of our vendors to prevent “After-Hours” fees, and she worked with us to negotiate the price of renting the 3rd Floor Multipurpose Room.
On our wedding day, she was an absolute rockstar! Many of our vendors commented on how efficiently she ran the day, and our officiant even noted that she was a mind reader – whenever she thought of a question for Sandi, she magically appeared!! Sandi also saved us numerous times on our wedding day, most notably when the ceremony musicians played the wrong song for my processional with my parents. I picked a cello/piano cover of Hallelujah, as the song is extremely meaningful to me and my parents. When it was time for us to walk, the musicians were playing a different song! Sandi covertly approached them and corrected them, so my parents and I got to walk to our special song. That alone was worth more than I can put into words!!
Sandi and the Heinz History Center truly made all of our dreams come true, and then some! If anyone is looking for a magical, unique venue with the best & most knowledgeable staff in the industry, I 100% recommend the Heinz History Center! -

If you are looking for a picture perfect wedding with an element of FUN this is the place. Our guests are still talking about how cool and unique the experience was! We always knew we wanted to get married at a venue that captured our personalities and a place that truly represented the city we live in. Heinz History was by far the best choice. From getting to work with Shelby, the history center's in house planner and organizer, to working with Common Plea for catering, every detail was met and exceeded expectations. We were SO lucky to have our wedding at the Heinz History Center and work with their incredible coordinator Sandi, who was so helpful, kind, and knowledgable throughout the entire process—we knew we were in great hands with her and the History Center team. Amazing and Unique Wedding Venue
We had to switch venues in early 2021 for our Fall 2021 wedding reception. We were so incredibly lucky that the Heinz History Center was available and got to work with Cassie and her team! This venue is so unique and absolutely amazing, and guests raved about the event. We held our cocktail hour in the 4th Floor Campbell Gallery, and guests enjoyed exploring the exhibits. The Great Hall is such a fun location with the Pittsburgh Trolley, old cars, and Kennywood racer. Cassie was so organized and her and her team took such great care of us, providing schedule options, layout options, and answering all of the many questions we had. Everything ran so smoothly, and our wedding was a perfect day! We are so grateful in the end that we had to switch because we couldn’t imagine our wedding reception anywhere other than the Heinz History Center now! -

We can't say enough positive things about hosting our recent wedding with The Heinz History Center and working with Shelby Starks as our Event Coordinator.
Shelby and her staff provided the highest level of customer service, understanding and responsiveness throughout the entire wedding process - including multiple reschedules due to COVID-19. Every phone call, email and question received a prompt response and her and her team had wonderful ideas and directions to guide us every step of the way.
It was such a reassurance to have Shelby manage our selected vendors and work closely with the caterer so that the day of the wedding, and wedding weekend our only job was to enjoy ourselves. It was a truly exceptional experience - we'd recommend The Heinz History Center to everyone. -

We were married at Heinz History Center (HHC) in October, and Shelby Starks made this such an easy process start to finish. From our very first email, Shelby was communicative, approachable and informative. She shared all of the options HHC offered to meet our needs. She gave us many supports throughout the planning process (offering different vendors, options for day structure, etc) and helped us create a day of plan down to the minute. Leading up to our big day, she coordinated all of our vendors so they knew what time to get there. We didn't have to worry about connecting the florist with the bakery or getting linens there ahead of the florist, etc. etc. All we had to worry about was getting ourselves ready and enjoying a fabulous celebration. -

Heinz History Center was an amazing wedding ceremony venue and Cassie was especially phenomenal! I was married on 05/29/21 in the 5th floor Mueller Center and it was a great space. Our initial guest list of 160 was cut down to around 70 so the Heinz staff used pipe and drape to partition off a portion of the Mueller Center to make the space more quaint for our downsized ceremony. They also set up a ZOOM livestream for a small fee, which we needed since my in-laws could not travel to the US from India due to the ongoing COVID-19 travel ban. We had two complimentary rooms for the boys and girls to get ready in and the security at Heinz allowed us to access the rooms as early as 6am even though the museum itself wasn’t going to be open until 10am. They also had a cart ready at the entrance for my mom and MOH to use to transport everything they brought. Also, of note, we initially booked Phipps for our ceremony but they canceled even after we paid our deposit and signed our contract. In hindsight, I'm very thankful for it because Heinz was a wonderful venue, the staff was super helpful and our guests loved being able to tour the museum after our ceremony! -

Best venue we could have asked for!
My husband and I were recently married at the Heinz History Center in September 2019. The planning process was so easy (well as easy as wedding planning can be) thanks to the help of the Shelby Starks and the other Heinz History Center staff. They were there with suggestions and answers every step of the way. Everything on our big day turned out beautifully and was just so unique! If I could do all of it over again, I would 100% choose Heinz History Center no matter what! -

Perfectly unique ceremony and reception venue!!!
The actual spaces are beautiful and the staff goes ABOVE AND BEYOND throughout the whole planning process and on-site. I felt so relaxed during the big day because I knew they had it all handled! Highly recommend! Worth every penny! -

Our best decision was choosing the Heinz History Center. Their guidance and attention to detail not only created a memorable evening but also took a lot of stress off our shoulders. Maura and her team know what they are doing and strove to tailor the venue and event to fit our taste and dreams. The Heinz History Center fulfilled our hopes for a fun and distinctive evening.
