For my wedding:
1. They did not ask for a deposit. Then, waited until the last minute to call us to ask if we still wanted the flowers we ordered. It was kind of late because by that point I had called them. I checked my messages to find that they had left a message that day or the day before I contacted them. They sent an invoice but it did not give the pay by date. If they would have just told me that they needed the deposit by such and such date or they would not order my flowers it would have been paid. At any rate, I was told I would not be able to get one of the flowers I wanted since it was too late.
2. They didn't offer the service to send the flowers, and then told us it was too late to get it.
3. I went in to check on the order and the lady could not find our order even after we paid the deposit. She had to call the owner on the phone. It just sounds disorganized to me.
4. My mom was in charge of paying for the flowers, so imagine my surprise when she called Hart's Floral and they told her that it was the bride's responsibility to make things happen. I guess that means i.e. security deposit. I would have preferred to pay up front. We did not have any problems paying any of our other vendors.
I don't like to complain I just need to vent about this situation.
Pluses:
1. Flowers were pretty
2. Ready on time
3. Ordering would have been easy if they would have taken our money.
4. Past experience positive (Grandmother's funeral flowers)
Just make sure you pay your deposit up front, and you have everything in writing.
