Beautiful vineyard wedding at sunset

We got married at Haak and had the absolute best experience! The venue is stunning and we fell in love with the vineyard vibes from the beginning. Kristen and the entire team were so helpful, organized, and truly cared about making our day perfect. Everything ran smoothly and we felt so supported throughout the planning process and on the big day. One of our favorite moments was watching the sun set over the vineyard. It created the most magical golden hour glow and made for some of our favorite photos. Our guests still talk about how beautiful and fun it was. We’re so grateful we chose Haak for our wedding. It was truly unforgettable.

Best Wedding Venue

Best wedding venue ever!! We contacted Haak Winery about hosting our daughter's wedding for a small wedding (50 people) and I'm so thankful we did! Kristin was amazing and handled every detail for us!! The tables were perfectly set, and the food and cakes were amazing!

The outside vendors (Cakes By Jula and Robinette & Co. Catering) selected as part of our package did a terrific job of working with Haak Winery, as well as the recommendations for the HEB floral and Pidrai photography.

The staff at Haak Winery also did an amazing job of setting up the venue, serving our guests and we really appreciated them cleaning up as well. Perfect day!!! Thank you, Kristen and Haak Winery for making the day PERFECT!!!!!

Amazingly Beautiful Wedding at Haak Winery!

Our wedding was at Haak Winery in March and we had the most amazing experience and lovely wedding day! The venue is perfect for both smaller and larger weddings. Our wedding coordinator Kristen Wollenberg, and the entire staff at Haak, were incredible and made everything a breeze. The whole process ran smoothly and we were never stressed out about anything as Kristen was always available and made sure everything was perfect. All of our guests keep complimenting on how nice and beautiful our wedding was! We’re so incredibly happy we chose Haak Winery!

awesome place, we loved it here

Haak / Kristen was wonderful, it was the only wedding venue we toured that made us feel like we weren’t being swindled. We toured 5 separate wedding venues aside from Haak. Haak was very clear about what we got for the price and delivered wonderfully on everything. The wine, food and cake were all delicious. We went with all the vendors that Kristen recommended and it was great! 11/10 would get married here again. ❤️

April wedding in 2024

We had such a wonderful time getting married at HAAK winery. Kristen was such wonderful help, she helped create order out of the chaos of my mind and had so much helpful information. Every member of the team was so wonderful, I had the wedding I dreamed of since I was a little girl. The wedding packages I felt like were good value and helped take so much off my plate. The venue was beautiful, the wine was delicious and my event progressed smoothly thanks to the help of the team. If I could do it again differently, I would not change a thing. 10/10

A wedding to remember

My husband and I got married at Haak in March and it was an absolute dream! Kristen made everything so easy and it was seamless on our big day! We loved having our own suites to get ready in and we even stayed in the bridal suite the night of the wedding, loved that! Haak will always be a special place for us and it was truly the best day ever!

The perfect experience

Having our wedding at Haak was so special! We wanted a venue that could be an experience, one that we could revisit in the years to come, and that was delivered ten-fold. Working with Kristen was seamless, and she was extremely helpful in making the day perfect. The haak family truly made the experience above and beyond.

Our Wedding Day

The planning process was wonderful. Leigh dealt with all of my crazy questions, ideas, and requests with a smile. Their Chef is excellent and really helped make our day unique by happily adding some of our favorite foods to our menu. Everyone talked about how great the food was, especially the appetizers! The day of staff were amazing, friendly, and so hard working. We had to move our wedding date to August, and of course it was record breaking hot. Their staff made sure to have canopies out, set up our fans, and make sure everyone was comfortable. From arriving to the bridal suite to clean up they went above and beyond. Every single one of them did everything they could to keep our group happy, which is never easy! Our guests were raving about how nice and accommodating they were to every need! Our day was wonderful, memorable, and fun!

Great Little Gem of a wedding venue with lots of acreage. The beautiful Chapel addition along with the in bloom grapevines made for a perfect backdrop on my big day!

My new husband and I have nothing but good things to say about Haak Vineyards & Winery as a wedding venue. We were first drawn to Haak because of the casual and laid-back, yet elegant vibe of the venue. The value for everything you get here is fantastic - we never felt like we were being ripped off or overpaying for a service compared to other venues we researched. We loved that Haak is really a "one stop shop" as far as choosing vendors - the only things you have to book yourself are the flowers, DJ, photography, and officiant. Haak takes care of the rest! Our guests RAVED about the food - Mary Bass is an absolutely fabulous chef (she was our day-of coordinator, too). The vineyard in April was beautiful; the flowers were blooming and the vines looked amazing. The attentive staff set up everything and cleaned it all up afterwards, and we only had to worry about cleaning up the things we brought in (centerpieces, flowers, etc). We could not have had a better experience!

We had our wedding here last weekend and everything was amazing. The vineyard is gorgeous and Leigh was there every step of the way. I was really able to relax during the wedding while she did all the stressing ha. I forgot the cake topper and with her quick thinking no one even noticed. She even realized when I was getting cranky from being hungry and took us into the cellar to eat. Everyone is still raving about the food & cake & service. If you're on the fence about having your wedding here, just do it already and stop reading this review. :)

What a fantastic place for a wedding. Beautiful setting, delicious food, and top notch staff made my daughter's wedding a glowing success! The wedding coordinator, Leigh, and chef, Mary, were so helpful!

Chef Mary and the bride came up with an idea to have artistic charcuterie boards serve as centerpieces, as well as appetizers, at each table at the reception - it was beautiful and so unique. The bride and groom had a nice, intimate private dinner in the wine cellar immediately after the ceremony while the guests had appetizers and the salad course - this gave them a nice moment together to celebrate their marriage, then allowed them time to greet each of their guests as they came through the buffet line.

The food was incredibly delicious! We selected the harvest blend salad, beef medallions in a Jacquez madeira sauce, honey Dijon roasted brussel sprouts, and roasted fingerling sweet potatoes. All our guests raved about the food! The chef also accommodated special requests for guests with allergies and food sensitivities.

Leigh was a Godsend and a pleasure to work with - she kept the wedding timeline on track and helped me out so much with both the planning and execution of the wedding and reception. I honestly don't know what I would have done without her!

If you're looking for a beautiful setting, great food, and top notch service, you can't go wrong booking a wedding a Haak!

I just had my wedding at Haak back in January and words cannot describe how perfect everything was. The wedding coordinator there, Leigh, was phenomenal - she is extremely kind, professional, and ensures your big day goes exactly as you want it to. Their wedding packages are the best price in town - they include a the venue beginning at 9 am the day of your wedding, linens, a catered dinner (which, I'd like to note is AMAZING), and your cake. You also get a discount on any wine that you buy for the wedding. We wanted to go a less traditional route and use charcuterie boards for our centerpieces and the chef there, Mary, went above and beyond to make that a dream a reality. I highly recommend this venue to anyone in the Houston area!!

I absolutely loved this venue for our wedding! Leigh Balli was very accommodating with every step of the way and took a lot of stress off of me. She met with us at different times at our convenience. Her responses were always timely to any of my questions...usually within the hour. I picked a color and when she sent me photo it was awful, she sent me a photo of another sample and it was perfect so she canceled the first order and ordered a new set. Always with a smile in her voice no problem. Mary Bass culinary skills are amazing! She made sure everything was perfect, adapted to our changes due to food allergies for certain people. Everyone is still talking about the food, the ambiance, and the drinks!!! Love this place!

The whole package from Haak was fabulous. They made it so easy by incorporating the ceremony site, reception venue, tables linens, catering and even the cake. Leigh Balli was great to work with and helped us every step of the way. The Vineyard even put on wedding fairs to help you choose your other vendors such as music, dress, flowers and invitations. Even when they had to work with our wedding coordinator, whom they had never met before, they were amazing, accommodating and totally professional. They further provide excellent facilities for both the groom and bride in which to get ready.
The site itself is so beautiful, I couldn't imagine a more perfect setting.

Haak Winery is such a beautiful place to get married at! Chef Bass was absolutely amazing! She served as not only the Chef but also the wedding coordinator. I could not have been happier with her! We had our rehearsal dinner here. We were originally scheduled to have it in the cellar but due to a flooding issue we wound up on the patio. The weather was beautiful that weekend so the patio was fine. The service and food and wine was great. Kathleen was wonderful to work with. I would recommend this venue to everyone.

Had our wedding here on 4/25/15, I can't even begin to describe how unbelievably happy I am with this venue! Everyone was absolutely amazing at making our day unforgettable! Sarah, my wedding coordinator was the best, she was always on top of everything, very knowledgeable in what she is doing and extremely helpful! The landscape is gorgeous and well kept and it's also beautiful when lit up at night! The food, wine and sangria was all delicious! We also got the s'mores bar which was setup so nicely. My whole experience with them was great and our wedding was absolutely perfect, I couldn't have asked for anything better! Haak Vineyards is an absolute must for any wedding!

HAAK provided excellent service for our guests and made sure our needs were met. We had an amazing experience and with the help of Sarah and Kathleen and we were more than pleased with our wedding and so were all of guests from their comments. We will definitely return for more events due to their service and accommodation for those with a budget. In closing, our wedding was a dream come true and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. This is a family owned venue, and I think because of that, you end up feeling like family. It didn't take us long at all when we first saw the grounds, and met the staff, to book our wedding immediately. They do almost everything for you, and check in with you if you need advice or anything. Not to mention that every single one of our guests commented on how they LOVED the food and the wine. They couldn't wait to take a bottle home.

Everyone at Haak was absolutely WONDERFUL!! Kathleen and Kim are a knockout team. They worked so hard and made sure everything was perfect. Thanks to them my wedding was absolutely perfect and I am STILL getting compliments on how wonderful and beautiful it was. Would recommend them 100 times over! I happened to see this hidden gem on Wedding Wire and my then fiancé and I decided to check it out. I thought I would just do a quick walk through of the venue, but ended up spending several hours asking very detailed questions to Yvette who graciously answered every single question I had and gave us great insight about the venue. I'm very thankful she was so patient with me when I asked her a million questions. The scenery is so gorgeous at the winery especially during the end of April thru June, when everything is blooming.

The day of the wedding I arrived to the venue and had part of the Haak's house to get ready in. It was the perfect space that included a kitchen, living area, bathroom, and a table set up to do make up. It was more than enough space. I comfortably had around 15 people in the room with plenty of room for more. The grooms area is in the wine cellar which makes for a really awesome hangout spot to get ready in. I requested wine and cheese platters be set up in each room....of course I needed extra wine bottles in my room and they were quick to accommodate. The food at the facility was fantastic! Everything from the cheese platter, to the cilantro baked fish, to our amazing wedding cakes.

I could not give enough praise to the staff as they were amazing the entire time. All my bridezilla demands and questions were promptly responded to, everyone was warm and friendly as can be, and everyone really went out of their way to help me, my vendors, and my guests out.

I chose this venue because of the all inclusive package that made many things about my wedding planning so easy. I got so much more than I expected from the staff and give a million thank yous to Yvette, Kim, and the staff at Haak Winery for all their help.

Kathleen, Kim, and the rest of the team at Haak Vineyards were very pleasant to work with from the very beggining stages of planning to the night we left after the wedding. The facility was beautiful and we continue to receive compliments on the wedding from our guests. Even if it never crossed your mind to have your wedding at a vineyard, you should visit Haak. There is not a more romantic place to say "I do" than a vineyard.

Great venue with very helpful staff. Our daughter's November wedding was absolutely beautiful! The venue coupled with our florist and decorator created the wedding our daughter has always dreamed about. Definitely recommend this venue for your wedding or vow renewal.

Our experience with Haak Winery was everything we had hoped it would be and more. Yvette was very professional and a complete joy to work with. She made sure every aspect of our wedding and the plans that we had for our special day were perfectly executed! We had a special request for Kim the chef and she prepared a remarkable dinner for our reception. Our cake was beautiful and delicious!! Our guests were blown away and very surprised from the overall beauty of the vineyard, chapel, property layout and atmosphere. Haak definitely provided us with all that we could ask for to help make our own love story wedding come true!!!

The two event coordinators, Yvette and Kathleen, we're so amazing. They are kind, supportive and patient! Kim, the chef, was awesome! Often weddings can be very stressful, however, the highly experienced staff at HAAK’s Winery helped us create a wonderful and relaxed wedding. They were creative, extremely flexible and very professional listening to our needs and making suggestions. In the end, our wedding was beautiful. The venue is beautiful, the chapel and vineyard was the perfect back drop. The reception was incredible, the food was perfect and the cakes were unbelievable. It was the first time most of our guests had ever attended an event at HAAK’s, and their first impression was WOW!

They provided everything we needed for our reception. The patio was the perfect place for the amount of guests and the food, beverages, cake were absolutely delicious. Once we signed our contract on what we would be responsible it was so comforting to know that when we arrived at the designated time everything was executed by their capable staff and all we had to do was pick up our decorations and gifts. This was easier than we anticipated since we are in our 70's we were nervous about attempting the planning, etc. After meeting with the event manager everything just fell into place. We had a beautiful as well as fun reception. T he best part was that it stayed within our budget.

Kathleen and Kim were a joy to work with. They really went above and beyond to make the day perfect and it was! The only thing that I had any issue with was the cakes they were absolutely beautiful but extremely dry. I loved how everyone at the winery made me feel like i was the only bride on their schedule I felt so special.

Haak was an absolutely gorgeous setting for an outdoor wedding. Kathleen was always prompt with answers to any questions we had and very flexible in making sure everything needed was available for us to have the small, intimate wedding we wanted. Kim provided outstanding food and sangria and of course the wine was fantastic! Overall, I think Haak is a great venue. You definitely get your money's worth!

This was the best wedding experience I could have asked for. The staff has been wonderful about everything. Besides the winery setting such a beautiful backdrop, the catering, coordinating, and friendly staff made this easy and fun. The food was amazing, as I heard this from many people. The cake was beautiful and they worked with my design and topper. I highly recommend Haak Vineyards and Winery for a wedding venue!

Overall it was the perfect experience for the anniversary of our dental office. Everyone was very friendly and the food and wine pairings were exactly what we had invisioned. The Chef and her staff were particularly wonderful in their presenation and knowledge of the wines and how they were paired. Would recommend the same experience to anyone interested in a Napa Valley quality experience right her at home. Will be booking again soon.

Our wedding was in October on one of those beautiful, cool days. The surrounding vinyard was a perfect backdrop. The chef worked with us to give the guests wine and appetizers on arrival, like a cocktail party before the wedding, and then a buffet dinner after the ceremony. People mention that it was one of the more lovely and unique weddings they have attended. My pictures are beautiful, and I feel like I picked the perfect wedding venue for us.

Kathleen (winery facility) and David (catering / cakes) were both amazing in helping us plan our event. They were also very prompt in answering all our questions. The venue is gorgeous at any time of year. If you are looking for an awesome spot for having a wonderful outdoor wedding, Haak winery cannot be beat!

Haak Winery was great!! I had to completley re-set my wedding due to Hurricane Ike and when I called Kathy and David at Haak, they were ready to answer any questions I had. Kathy helped me with the settings and David went over the menus. The food was unbelieveable. I am still getting rave reviews on the menu we chose. The setting was beautiful and with the decorations it was very elegant. They went out of their way to make my wedding rememberable. I will always be greatfull!! I don't know what I would have done without all their help. I planned and had to do everything for this wedding on my own, so I was way behind and very stressed and tired on wedding day. I dropped off my things then had to leave to take care of the bride and my sons the groom and ringboy. By the time I got back I had 2 hours to dress the bride, myself, my 20 month old, and decorate the tables and put out the favors and pictures, etc. I swear sent from Heaven, she asked if I would like them to set everything up. I accepted. I would not have done it by myself, I barely had time to get everyone ready befor the wedding started. They did beautifuly. I could not have done it better (and I am Extremly Picky). Everything went perfectly. The food was amazing, I recieved several comments on the food, venue, and what I beautiful wedding it was. I know they went above and beyond, and I can't thank them enough.

Haak was the absolute perfect place to have a wedding! Overall, the venue was extremely responsive and caring of all of my wants/needs. My event contact, Kathleen, was amazing to work with, and never said no to anything I requested. She was always on top of things, and kept in contact well over the months leading up to my wedding. The only issue I can really say I had at this beautiful place was that my cake was cut for me as my husband and I were being toasted, without prompt by either of us. So we did not get to cut our cake together. I believe this was an independent decision of one of the workers that day, so I can't blame the venue as a whole. Other than that, the venue was perfect, and I do not think I will ever regret for a second getting married there.

We were a very small wedding party (only 46 people total and 39 ending up present), so this venue being kind of intimate worked great for us. In the spring the location is stunningly beautiful, everything is so green and the vines create a certain atmosphere that was exactly right for us. We did have to drive 1.5 hour one way to get there as the winery is not exactly close to Houston, but it was so worth it.
Both the event manager and the chef were very easy to work with, esp given our crazy (working + school at the same time) schedules. Kathleen, the event manager, allowed us to bring our Dachshund on the premises as we wanted him to be our ring bearer, and Kim, the chef, took care of pairing the wines with the food. The selections out of her catering menu are more then decent and reasonably priced, and she can adjust it for any dietary requirements.
I am not giving this location full 5 out of 5 only because they have a very strict policy of not allowing any food and drink from the outside. We were fine with using Haak's catering and wines but they also insisted on providing the cake while I had my own, and much cheaper, cake lady. At the end this all worked out, as my friend let me use her cake design as a wedding gift, and Haak's baker re-created it just fine, plus Kim the chef built the cake very cleverly, making it big enough to look beautiful but inserting a fake second tier in the middle to keep the costs low (as we didn't need a cake that big for 46 people).
But overall the location is great, the staff were very attentive to our needs and we feel that we made a great choice having our wedding at Haak's.

All my guests were very impressed with the venue. It is beautiful, the food and drinks were very good, and the staff was friendly. Kathleen took extra time to assist me with the decorations beacause I was coming from out of town and did a wonderful job. The cost is a little more than you expect if you are inviting more than 150 guests due to extrea fees, but that is probably my only complaint. I would definitly recommend Haak!

My husband and I chose Haak Vineyards & Winery as it was a vineyard close to home. We had a small, intimate ceremony and reception (<45 people), and they took really good care of us. Kathleen was our original (very sweet!) point-of-contact, but she had to be out some due to familial obligations. In her absence, Chef Mary was my go-to for questions/answers/comments/concerns. She is just WONDERFUL. She is happy when you are happy, and she was such a joy to work with. Her food really hits the spot. We enjoyed our interactions with her sous chef as well. Haak is nice because they have a lot of things included in your package that makes decision-making a breeze. They provide your tables, linens, and chairs and will set it all up for you. We decided to experiment with family-style serving, and the staff didn't blink an eye. They executed everything perfectly. Kathleen and Chef Mary made sure that my husband and I were well taken care of on our special day. We wanted for nothing. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and are looking forward to coming back for a visit very soon in the future!

Just about everything was wonderful. Kathleen Reiss worked with us did an excellent job except I had to do a lot of calling on my own to keep in touch to get information and to set up appointments. Other than that she was wonderful just don't expect a lot of attention. She seemed over worked. The food was wonderful and the service was great. Everything turned out beautiful. I highly recommend Shelly Bounds an outside event decorator who will come in and decorate the chapel and reception site. Her décor really makes the bland metal building into a beautiful setting to the point Haak needs to think about including her services in their packages.

Wonderful venue!! My wedding there was beautiful and looked better than I could have imagined. The staff was so nice, so friendly through the planning and the event itself. They were very accommodating to all of my requests. They include the food, cake, linens, drinks etc in their pricing so it was very convenient and easy to have one contact person. Sarah Rodriguez was great at helping to get it all organized and run the day of the wedding. I would recommend Haak without hesitation!

The site is gorgeous. It's a family owned business, I found that the staff were very friendly and helpful. The day of the event, I had forgotten the book for the guests to sign and they made one on the spot for me. Kim, the chef was easy to work with. She and my fiancee' hit it off talking about inventing sauces, so she came up with a special sauce for the meat for us. They aren't large so if it's the staff's day off you may have to wait a couple of days to get questions answered. The chef and cooking staff were very professional and on top of their game.

This was a 25th anniversary celebration and I was treated like a bride again. Sarah was very attentive to my desires for this day and she was very easy to work with. It was a beautiful venue and very intimate.

April Wedding at Haak Vineyards & Winery

Our wedding at Haak Winery was absolutely incredible, and Kristen Wollenberg was such a fantastic facilitator! From the very start, Kristen made everything smooth, easy, and stress-free.

Pam was exceptional and truly amazing in helping everything flow perfectly on our special day.

A couple of things to keep in mind: the venue comfortably fits about 125 guests rather than the 150 it sometimes mentions, especially if you plan to have a live band. While this wasn't an issue for us personally, it's just something future couples might want to keep in mind for planning purposes. Additionally, since this is Houston and the weather can be unpredictable, we strongly recommend asking about tent options in case of rain, including understanding the costs involved, any additional steps needed such as rearranging the seating or adjusting the timeline, and possibly having this detailed within your contract for an outdoor wedding.

We also found having our dedicated Wedding Coordinator / Team incredibly beneficial for our wedding, especially since it was a larger wedding. It's also a great idea to meet Pam or whoever your main contact will be well before the wedding day and maintain communication with them from the beginning. This early communication will help you feel prepared and in control of your special day.

One final note: we weren't impressed with the tablecloths provided by the venue due to their quality and color options, so we suggest bringing your own if possible.

Overall, our experience was nothing short of incredible. The food was fantastic, and the cake was amazing! We highly recommend Haak Winery to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with an amazing team. Thank you again, Kristen and Pam, for making our day so special! We can't wait for you to experience the magic of Haak Winery on your own special day.

We had a great time at the wine tour and tasting.
There was some confusion as to light snacks provided for our tour.
We ended up purchasing finger food. But everyone had a great time.

Great service and quality. Only issue I had was that the menu was not what I had picked at the tasting. I did not realize until after and was disappointed the food I picked was not served for my guests.

My fiancé and I haven't chose a venue yet, but we attended the Houston Bridal Extravaganza to scout. My fiancé took off to look at a few I wouldn't make it too and he was really impressed with them. We don't know though if they have an open house or if they will contact us? We tried to call today, but no answer :/

we were very pleased with the response to all of our concerns and questions during the planning stages. However, the plated dinner service was slower than we would have liked. The wine, food and venue setup were all fantastic!

The Haak Vineyards & Winery did not host my ceremony, but they did host the reception afterward.
The day couldn't have been any more beautiful! After the mass, everyone began to arrive at the winery around 4:30 pm, and the hosts were ready for us. We had over 210 guests in attendance. From the beginning to the end, guests couldn't say enough great things about the Haak. Everyone enjoyed the appetizers (fruits & cheeses), the dinner, and especially, the great tasting wine that my husband and I selected for the event! Guests roamed the vineyards and snapped pictures as the sun went down - B-E-A-U-TIFUL!. We then danced the night away until 10 pm.
The next day, family and friends stated that our wedding was gorgeous - from the beginning of the mass to the end of the reception at the Haak. We were definitely happy and wouldn't have changed a thing.
I do recommend having a person or two (such as a wedding planner or a GREAT friend, like we did) to make sure everything is running smoothly. Although the Haak is the host, they are very busy serving food and wine. I really recommmend that David and Kathleen allow their staff to do all that and tend more to the needs of the wedding party - just in case the party does not have a planner or friend to assist. We also have not received a breakdown of how all of our money was spent. We told the Haak the amount of people that would be in attendance and how much wine we would need. The chef gave us an amount to pay and stated he would give us a breakdown of everything. We paid, but we have yet to see how the money was distributed.
Overall, I would highly recommend the Haak Vineyards and Winery to anyone who would like to host a special event.

The winery was easy to work with if you went with everything they said and had no ideas of your own. We were not allowed to schedule tasting until after the contract was signed, half was paid and we were with 90 days of the wedding. Little backwards but it can work if you have a backup plan in case you dont like the food (though I heard that the new rental contract forces you to use their catering services). We tried to have the rehearsal dinner there but they would not even talk about food without a signed contract. Decided to spend the $ elsewhere. Oh and the pastry chef dropped the 4 tier cake so there was no wedding cake (except that purchased from the grocery store). I thought that it was a little pricy for a small town venue but still ok. Overall, I would use caution in recommending this venue to another person. I could go on and on but while I think they have potential, they are still working out the kinks in becoming a full service wedding venue.

We really have loved this place for many years and to have our wedding there was beautiful. We had a late evening wedding in November so the sun setting behind us was beautiful and the weather was just right . The vendors and HAAK staff were very friendly and offiant .

After the line dies down for the food they take the food up and dont serve anymore. This is the only place that I have ever been to that takes the food up and doesn't leave it out. We made our final payment to the venue. Three days before the wedding they popped on us that hadn't paid all the payment yet. She claimed that we still had $400 to pay. Quite hard to do when you are that close to the weddinng.

The Quality of Service- Day of the wedding the "event planner" was no where around. If it wasn't for the DJ, things would not have run smoothly.

Responsiveness- The Winery was not good at returning phone calls, messages, or emails. Contact required personal visits to the location.

Professionalism- Although, there was a written contract, the verbal agreements were not withheld without confrontation. The Head Chef was very difficult to deal with, and I felt he over stepped his boundries when it came to the actual event planning.

Value for Cost- The cost was very reasonable, and the Venue was very beautiful and well kept.

Flexibilty- When we would show up at the winery to discuss issues, or questions that we might have had, they were always able to make time to sit down with us and discuss them.

Although, we had difficutly making the arrangements with the Winery, the overall wedding went very well. All the guest expressed that they had a great time, and it was a beautiful wedding. The food and cakes were very well prepared!!

Haak Winery is a beautiful place for a wedding. The atmosphere was beautiful especially July with the grades on the vine. That being said we did not have a good experience with Kathleen and David. There were several things that did not go well for us from food to response time. When we first met with David we did not get a good feeling about it him. He was very pushy with what he wanted to do. Our ideas were not really taken into much consideration. We also got our cake from another vendor which apparently is a no no but it was not stated in the contract that we had to have it from them. He did lets us bring in the cake but said he would no help with it what so ever which was fine. He suggested an amount of wine for us to get that was outrageous and I kept saying we did not need it. He was persistent about it so we went ahead with his suggestion. We did not even make a dent in the wine and they had to refund us our money. He did not work with us on children's menus at all. He was going to charge us the same price for less food. We never felt like we were being heard it seemed as though it was going to turn out how they have always done their weddings. Kathleen was helpful with what we needed. Overall the wedding turned out beautiful thanks to my amazing wedding coordinator and friends. The winery was a great place for the wedding but our experience with the staff was not a very good one and I would be cautious if I was choosing them for my wedding. Make sure you read everything and voice your opinion.

The food is mediocre at best: bagged greens (nothing else) for a salad, frozen string beans, small chicken breast with thin sauce. Two months before the wedding the head chef decided he wanted to make my daughter's cake and said we could only use a baker he approved. The contract signed almost a year before made no mention of such a practice. He became rude when we would not have the bakery call him as he requested and called me "argumentative". When the operations mgr was called he did apologize. It is a lovely setting and the wedding went well but we certainly didn't need the added stress prior to the event. My advice: get everything in writing before.

Save yourself the headache

I wanted to give a honest review as a bride who worked with Haak winery in Santa Fe tx.
Below is my experience and warning to other brides!

So at the beginning it was amazing and our coordinator was amazing! It was a small winery. They had a cellar and outdoor space as options for the ceremony and an open air barn for the reception. Our contract was all inclusive and included cake, dinner and the coordinator services. We toured and fell in love. Things were great then one day like 2 months from my wedding I texted our coordinator and to ask about wine names and she texted me back that she was fired the week before due to “budget cuts”

so I started to freak out and was basically given no answer and that the general manager of the winery would be taking care of me… this was the only update I was given until about two weeks till my wedding.

I was never informed of a new coordinator. I texted the GM with a question and never received an answer. I instead was sent a text from their new “event manager”. As my wedding was so close we didn’t have much time so I gave her all of the documents I prepared for the wedding for planning. This was very frustrating as it mad me stress and plan everything that was supposed to already be done.

During our meeting I asked about the plans for rain. She showed me the cellar and let me know this would be where the ceremony would be held if it rained.
The weekend before my wedding I got a text from her letting me know that the cellar had been rented out to another party.?!?

The contract we had eludes to the property being exclusive. We had a week from our wedding and now no plan for rain. the percentages were from 20-40%at that point I was freaking out that it would storm the day of my wedding and had no plan. I had to reach out to the owner of the winery for a meeting and got one. In the meeting they still basically had no plan and refused to give us the entire property.
They then asked us to pay $ 1,800 for a tent to fix their mistake. When I brought up the fact that this was not my mistake and the lack of planning and miscommunication was on them, the owner agreed to “ split the tent so we ended up paying $500 for a tent over the outside ceremony area… so that issue was “solved”… then the day before our wedding we got an incorrect invoice for $2,000 more dollars for food and wine. We had already paid for that in the package. The coordinator had made another mistake and it wasn't until I demanded to know what was happening did she let me know if was a mistake and we would be refunded/ fixed the invoice.
Because of this, was freaking out again the day before our wedding… so stressful.

On day of the wedding the venue was completely open all morning and even had a singer doing a show? They legit let people from the winery walk around all morning where our wedding was being set up. And apparently do a wine/venue tour.
When I spoke with Julianne she was condescending and kind of rude and just said that they are allowed to do that?!? They ended up giving me a different day of point of contact after I called her out for her tone with me lol so I didn’t have to see or deal with her once the day got started.

I wanted to warn others because for the price you are paying (over $10,000)you shouldn't be having to deal with so much stress during what is supposed to be a celebratory time in your life.
It was a lot of stress and I couldn't recommend them less however the vendors they worked with for food and cake are highly recommend!
Cakes by Jula- had many guests rave about the cake flavor and how beautiful it was!
Robbinettte and company catering- we had so many guests LOVE the food choices! Got azomg reviews about that!
