Chris was an amazing DJ. Throughout the whole planning process, he was so easy to communicate with, he kept me in the loop, and always made sure I had the info I needed. He is one of the kindest people you’ll ever meet and was an absolute joy to work with. He made sure I approved of all of my music before the day of and was awesome at being flexible with requests, keeping the dance floor going, and playing all of my “must plays”. He even got out on the dance floor with us! I cannot say enough great things about Chris and the work he did!

MVP of our wedding reception
Chris is amazing at what he does! Not only was he fantastic with the music, but he also did an incredible job keeping our entire wedding evening flowing smoothly and exactly how we envisioned it. Absolutely Amazing Service
Chris went above and beyond to make our wedding day flow so nicely. From the time I started communicating with him about booking him to be the Dj and MC for our wedding, he was always very professional, quick at responding to either a phone call, text message, or email. He gave me and my now husband so many helpful suggestions in regards to our playlist which I believe made our wedding ceremony and reception run so beautifully. He even kept checking on both of us throughout the event to make sure we were doing well. He is extremely talented and has the best personality! He even joined in on the dance floor to dance along to the songs that were recommended by our guests! I would book Chris all over again and recommend him to anyone! Chris was all around just awesome from the very first conversation my wife and i had with him all the way up to the last minute of our reception! We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! The music for every part of the night perfectly set the tone and vibe — from the pre-ceremony and cocktail hour to dinner and dancing. Great Dance Floor!
Chris was very helpful and great to work with! He set up a phone call with us to discuss what we wanted and emailed us clips of our first dance songs to make sure they were what we wanted. Chris was so easy to work with! He was always willing to meet or discuss details at any time. He even took time to come out to the property beforehand since our venue was all outdoors to ease our minds about sound logistics. He made us feel completely assured. It was important to me that everyone had a great time on the dance floor. He did that and more. He kept the party alive! His personality was top notch and even interacted with the crowd. I will recommend Chris over and over, he made our day better than I imagined. It is clear that this is way more than just a job to Chris. He has a passion for what he does.

Truly helped in making that day special for me and my wife. Not only did he do our ceremony, but also our reception venue which was almost an hour away. Very professional, polite, and has been doing this for a long time. Very prompt in communication, and extremely easy to work with. He is an excellent DJ, he played every song we asked for and more, had professional equipment and great sound levels. He is a performer and had everyone on the dance floor, and getting out of their comfort zones, and kept it entertaining for the entire evening. Absolutely 5 stars, I highly recommend him to everyone

When I say that he was the absolute best DJ I could have ever asked for! He made sure every song I requested was played and even edited songs to fit our needs. The dance floor was the happening place to be at our wedding and it was all because of him! The lighting and sound quality was incredible and really helped set the mood. Easy to work with - accommodating - tells you how things "normal go" but is very quick to do whatever is asked of him. Emails prior to event and has everything ready prior to the event. Arrives prepared. Never needed any help in setting up. No complaining. Professional, yet quick to be a part of the group and allowed the guests to request songs. The Perfect DJ!
We were referred to Chris (Formal Affair) by a friend, and we are so glad we found him! He was fantastic in every way, from the planning all the way to the wedding/reception.
Wedding planning can be quite stressful at times, but working with Chris as one of our vendors made everything so so easy. He was always quick to answer our questions, and so flexible in setting up all the details. Throughout all the planning, we could tell he genuinely wanted what was best for us. He also has the access and skills to convert YouTube videos (and I am sure many other media forms) into an MP3 file. I mention that because for our ceremony we chose one instrumental version of a song that is only on YouTube, and he was able to make it happen with ease. We also had a live musician play some music during our ceremony, and Chris made everything so easy to set up for the music.
On top of all of that, he is a fantastic DJ! The dancing at our reception was SO much fun!! I had so many people come up to me throughout the night and say how they loved the music being played. Chris also knows well how to read a room, so there never felt to be a lull—he kept the party moving!
Overall, we can’t recommend Chris from Formal Affair enough. Working with him ensures stress free planning and a fantastic dance party on the most special night of your life!

Chris was absolutely incredible. He knew exactly what songs to play to get our guests on the dance floor. He also included lighting in his package and was super affordable. We wanted karaoke at our rehearsal dinner, which we also hired Chris for. While he had never offered this service, he went out of his way to download software and figure out how to make karaoke happen. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about Chris and Formal Affair DJ! He provided the music for our wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception with perfection. His professionalism, flexibility, and services provided were excellent. We provided him with a list of songs that we wanted played throughout each of those times of the wedding day (which was a pretty heft list) and he played them all with no questions asked. He was also very willing to accept song requests throughout the reception, and was extremely flexible with any specific requests or last minute changes that I had during my wedding day and reception which really made all the difference! He really kept everyone on the dance floor having a blast!
We even had a guest specifically come up to us to share that this DJ completely changed her outlook on having DJ's vs. a live band at a wedding, and I couldn't agree more! Chris was so personable and easy to work with. We can't thank Chris enough for help making our wedding so memorable!

Such a great person and DJ!
Chris was wonderful! He was very professional and timely answering all emails prior to the wedding and the day of everything went perfectly from the mics for the ceremony, to announcing first dances etc. We have received so many compliments on how fun of party the wedding was and how great the music choices were. Everyone had a blast and the dance floor was never empty. Could not recommend Chris more!

If you’re looking to have the most amazing, fun-filled wedding reception that your friends and family will talk about- Chris is the DJ for you! All of our guests have let us know how awesome the music choices were, which isn’t hard to believe as Chris works with you to make sure you hear the songs that will get your guests out on the floor and stay there. And, if you have the opportunity, get the uplighting! It adds an extra layer of fun to the atmosphere that will make you never want your reception to end.

I can not say enough good things about Formal Affair, Chris is an amazing DJ. He is the consummate professional, in his attitude, MC expertise and equipment and went way beyond his DJ responsibilities to ensure an evening of fun for all His dj equipment is top notch, featuring the coolest light and sound system! He knows music, what to play and when. The atmosphere he created had the guests at our sons wedding practically dropping their dinner forks to get on the dance floor where they remained all night!

Chris was so great! We needed a DJ for our wedding, ceremony mic and sound, indoor and outdoor music, and everything went so smoothly. He came prepared, worked well with our coordinator, and he was a great addition to the celebration. He’s really a fantastic value, and a great guy. I’m so glad we found him!

Chris was amazing, there's no other way to put it. Was extremely helpful and responsive from the beginning, willing to listen to all of our requests. And make suggestions to help the flow and energy at the reception. Ceremony music was flawless, and he was able to get our desired timing and transitions perfectly. The reception music was excellent, he took our preferred genres/themes from our suggested playlist and ran with it. Everyone was partying and dancing non-stop. I've never seen the dance floor stay as packed as it did for as long as it did before. We cannot recomment Formal Affair DJ enough. Thank you Chris!

Chris was absolutely amazing, professional & went WAY beyond to make sure we had ALL the songs to accommodate our fun wedding reception~ from our requested "Second Line Mardi Gras Entrance" to our first dance songs, dinner song requests, I could go on & on! Chris was the epitome of professional. He dressed in a tux day of, but before that he met us and accepted our playlist, added some comments, was very jovial, and had a great sense of humor. When we met with him before he accepted everything we directed him to do, kept things simple, was very flexible with what we wanted, and extremely personable. Younger dancers and older dancers found that they love the music and the dance floor stayed alive the entire night. The flow was perfect in everyway. We HIGHLY recommend this dj! No worries with this one. Oh! And his lighting was fantastic and totally set the mood.

Chris is awesome. I can not say enough nice things about working with him. He played all the songs that we asked for and made our special day even better. I love how upbeat he is and how he gets out with the crowed and gets the party going. He is very professional and answered any question we had very fast. Everyone at our reception kept telling us how much they loved our DJ. He is very flexible even while you are at the event and are wanting to move things around. Chris is AMAZING! He knew exactly how to keep the party going and played songs that our guests loved- we are still getting compliments about the music over a week later. Chris even got my husband out on the dance floor and led group dances that everyone could follow. My 3-year-old niece was having the time of her life on the dance floor and Chris even let her pick some songs from his iPad- it absolutely made her night. That small gesture is just one example of how amazing this DJ service is. Thank you, thank you, thank you Chris!

Chris was great! Upbeat and fun and super flexible! He did all of the announcements perfectly and even played a bunch of German music for the Grooms family! We couldn't be happier with him! He kept the party going! Would definitely recommend him! And the price was so good!

Chris is the best DJ I've seen at a wedding so far. His prices are great and he goes above and beyond what you'd expect your DJ to do. I love that he brings his girlfriend along and she gets out on the dance floor to help get guest out. She's very sweet as well and they both dress like they are part of the wedding guest. Chris was one of my easiest vendors to deal with the whole wedding process & made everything easy for me.

Chris is perfect. All the way. As a professional photographer I have been around few dj´s and he is second to none. From the moment we sat down to talk about the big day to his thank you at the end of the day he was 100% on it. I could go on and on about how good he was but I do not see the need. If you need a dj and you pick Chris - he will deliver. It is simple as that. Absolute brilliant human being.

Chris was our DJ at our outdoor wedding in October & was excellent! There were more people on the dance floor at our wedding than I have seen dancing at a wedding in awhile. He was super flexible & played the songs I asked him to in the best way to keep the reception rolling. He took requests from my guests & I and everyone was very complimentary of him! We really enjoyed having Formal Affairs DJ our wedding and would recommend Chris to anyone!

I just have to echo what everyone else said: Chris at Formal Affair is an amazing DJ. He made our wedding into a great party and all of our guests walked out saying they had a fantastic time. Here are two points I want to highlight:
1) Chris is the definition of a professional. Before the wedding he was attentive and prompt and good at reminding this forgetful bride of the little last minute details I had forgotten. During the wedding, he danced and had a good time, but it was all with the purpose of pumping up our guests and getting them going and things never got out of hand -- or slowed down! Also, he was good with going with the flow since a few details changed at the last minute.
2) Great value!! I looked at a lot of DJ services and many were pretty pricy but the price at Formal Affairs was budget friendly and maybe even a steal with what you get in Chris!

Chris was wonderful! Our wedding reception was a blast because of him, and he even tailored the music to our themed reception, which took time and planning on his part. Fortunately, he was happy to do it. Very nice guy and nice quality equipment/entertainment.
