Brian Finch from Finch on the Run Entertainment was our DJ for our wedding on Halloween Night 2k15. It was not your normal wedding, but Brian was complete down with it and had fun. He was interactive, fun, and understanding. We did not have a very big wedding but he had people dancing and people enjoyed the wedding with the help of Brian. Many things can go wrong on your big day, but you can be guaranteed that if you have Brian as your DJ, you can't go wrong at all. Brian was great and we couldn't be more pleased with Brian being our DJ choice. Thank you again Brian! -

We've used his services many times for several different types of events. Never lets us down. We know he's been attacked some in the last year or so but we never have nor never will lose faith in him and his staff. Thank you Finch!!!! You're so a part of our family. :) -

Brian and the Finch on the Run team are great. From the very beginning they were there for me and ready to my our day special. We had some issue with our hotels and I was loosing my mind. After I posted a worry-some post on Facebook, Brian called me immediately to see if he could help. He gave me numbers and names of venues in the surrounding areas (about 10 names and numbers). He was extremely concerned about my well being and wanted to help in any way. Extremely prompt and professional. We played the shoe game (which was a hit) and he had so many ideas and really cared about what we wanted and most importantly, what we didn't want. Our wedding was great and it was partly because of Finch on the Run. -

Brian is the best! We received numerous compliments on our reception dj and recommend him to anyone and everyone!
Brian is so accommodating and was very willing to make a special father-daughter mix for us. He kept the dance floor packed until the end of the night. -

Ok lets just start out with, Brian your the bomb!! I would never recommend anyone but Finch on the Run for a wedding DJ! We planned my sisters wedding in a month and Brian helped us by juggling his schedule so that he could come HIMSELF and help us out! I had a special maid of honor speech which he played my music to so that I could sing, he mixed my sisters and fathers dance so that they weren't just dancing to one song, and he even made the crowd die with laughter as he and my sister, the bride, played a huge prank on me, the maid of honor! He kept everyone entertained and I have never been to a wedding where the DJ did as great as Brian did. He is definitely #1 on my list for my wedding! -

Brian was great! He DJ'd our wedding in August 2014 in Albion, NE and was fantastic. He took requests from guests and kids before we arrived at the reception - even the LSU fight song. He was flexible to some last minute song changes (the Nebraska Tunnel Walk for our intro) and kept EVERYONE on the dance floor until the last call. He was great to work with! He joked with the bridal party and made everything so much fun. He even took on the role as MC so we didn't have to! Great music, great energy, just all around awesome! -

Brian Finch did an amazing job entertaining the guests at our daughter's wedding. His professionalism to do business with was very much appreciated. His witty "sound effects" during the speeches was hilarious. I was cautious as my daughter and son-in-law lined up Brian Finch for their wedding. I had not heard of him nor spoken to him. I did talk to him on the wedding day as he called to verify some set-up issues and assure me he would be travelling to the reception, soon.
From the initial consultation, my daughter and son-in-law, to the clean-up after the reception went great. Brian was funny. His comments were appropriate to any age group. He had 300+ people laughing and dancing all night.
Brian kept the dance floor packed. Really appreciated the mix tape he created for the father / daughter dance from the input given by my daughter. Crowd loved our break-out from the traditional father daughter dance.
The only reason I rated him a 5.0 is because there wasn't a 6.0. I will recommend him to anyone interested in a DJ that provides a memorable experience.
Thanks Brian, hope we can get you in a couple years when my son gets married.

I attended a wedding DJ'd by Brian Finch October of 2012. I was blown away!!! We danced our butts off all night long. There was never a dull moment. I was engaged at the time and just knew I had to have that same experience at my reception. I talked to Brian that night and told him I was interested. I contacted him shortly thereafter and he offered to give me at GREAT discounted rate for booking through a friend. Very affordable DJ for what you get. I've been to many weddings where the music just sucks. Nobody is dancing and the DJ is just wandering around not paying any attention to the empty dance floor. Not Brian. We played the "shoe game" at our reception to get everyone loosened up. Guests loved it and got some great pics. I didn't have any communication problems with Brian. I know he is busy, and as a bride we get a little flustered. Have to remember that we aren't the only client. Cannot expect immediate responses. Brian spent about 45 minutes on the phone with my fiance and I discussing what we wanted and didn't want. He honored all our wishes and went above and beyond what I expected of him. This guy knows how to have a good time and get the crowd involved. I have had countless friends tell me how much fun our wedding dance was and ask about our DJ. Great service, great time, great company, great person. Thanks again Brian we will never forget how special our dance was!!! -

Finch on the Run entertainment was an amazing vendor at our wedding. We got lots of comments from our guests about how fun our reception was all thanks to Brian! The minutes flew by with lots of dancing and laughter. We had so much fun. Brian also DJ'ed our ceremony last minute and I can't thank him enough for that. He tried to help me stress less. From the moment we called Brian Finch to DJ our wedding he was ALL about what WE wanted. He spent time with me talking about our wedding and what kind of people we, the bride and groom, were to make the dance the BEST it could be. He thanked my photographer and family through out the night knowing I wanted them thanked. He played and did everything I asked and went above and beyond. My husband and I wanted our guest to have a great time. I have recieved texts and been told several times by different friends and family that were there that our wedding was the funnest and best one they had been too. He talked to all of our friends in the bridal party getting to know them and keeping the guests included and interacted with everyone. I would HIGHLY recommend Finch on The Run. You want the night to run smoothly and you want it to memorable and fun for everyone involved THEY WILL SUCCEED at that!! I had some friends getting married a year from now and after the evening they were very interested in hiring Finch on The Run to DJ their weddings. Owner Brian Finch is incredible. My sister used him for her DJ so when we were planning we knew there was only one option, Finch on the Run. Brian is so welcoming and easy to work with. He has high energy and knows how to keep your dance floor full all night. We decided at the last minute to add a dollar dance and to throw the bouquet and Brian rolled with our choices. He is affordable and just so much fun. I would highly recommend him! He has become another member of our family and my entire family will use him for any event we need a DJ for. -

Brian was the DJ at our wedding (owner) We had never met nor heard of his company. A friend of a friend gave us his website. I checked it out, submitted my information and within an hour Brian had called me. We ended up chatting for about 45 minutes over things pertaining to the wedding. He quoted us a great price. The best price we were finidng. He let us know he doesn't play music with profanity in it. All of his music is edited. We loved this about him because there were going to be a lot of younger kids at our wedding. My wife and I live in West Des Moines, IA, but having our ceremony and reception in Omaha because that it where we were from. He met us in Omaha to discuss details of the wedding. He was very knowledgable and provided us with suggestions we used during our reception. He made the reception fun and entertaining for everyone while keeping it prefessional. Some couples at our wedding had been married within the past couple years. They all wished they would have know about Finch On the Run Entertainment for their weddings because their DJs were dull and nor very cooperative. Great service for a Great price!!!!! -

Finch was the best DJ for our wedding! For months I had been talking him up saying "I have the best DJ, he's so much fun!" and he totally lived up to everyones expectations! He was energetic and kept the party going all night. All of the communications leading up to the wedding were great, he was quick to answer all of our questions and help us solve any problems that he could. He has a great knowledge of music helping us to pick out the perfect songs for certain dances. He played music for our out door wedding also, which was awesome. I would reccomend Finch on the Run to any one having a wedding or special day that needs a DJ. -

I will say over and over this dj is the best there is... brian gets the crowed moving no matter if it's for a wedding or just a booking at a bar. brian welcomes the crowed with open arms. He is very good at what he does. I have gave his number to many friends and they have nothing bad to say about his ways of doing things.... I really enjoy going to see him and his staff. If you are looking for a wonderful, fun, and respectful dj brian and his staff will do the job. -

We first witnessed FOTRE at my cousins wedding. We booked Brian the following week. Brian made our wedding memorable. He made sure our Wedding Day was perfect. We met with him prior to our wedding and discussed details. If we did not like/or want a song to be played he made sure it wasn't. He got our reception guests involved and made it enjoyable for them as well. We even had guests book Brian to Dj their events. We have been to weddings since and those Djs do not compare to FOTRE or Brian. We have even traveled to watch Brian do a bar show because we enjoy his entainment so well. I have and will continue to recommend Brian and FOTRE to all and everyone! Best DJ service around! -

Our DJ was Brian Finch from Finch on the Run and he did an awesome job! We hired him for our outdoor ceremony and our indoor reception. He showed up at 2:00 pm and had everything set up and he kept offering to help if he could. He did a great job of making all our music flow nicely for our ceremony and he helped run the reception perfectly. I got a lot of compliments from many of my guests of how well all the music was ran and many guests said he was very entertaining. Brian was very professional, helpful, and fun. If I had to do my wedding all over again, I would still hire Brian as my DJ. -

We had a wedding this weekend and had the BEST DJ ever, Brian Finch, makes it fun and will make everyone laugh and you just have a wonderful time. He interacts well with all the families and gets them involved together to help with the new transition. Music is great and he listens to the families on what they want and bends over backwards to be excellent, I would have him do any event that music was part of and would hire again ( which I did) you will never go wrong with Brian he is aces!!! We were privileged to have Brian Finch from Finch on the Run Entertainment to DJ our 2013 high school prom. Brian was friendly and helpful from the very first phone call. He was very conscious of what we expected as far as music, dress code and fun. He was friendly to staff, students and parents and worked to include them in on the festivities. At some dances by the end of the night the students are sitting waiting for it to be over, but this year they danced to the end. Brian had a nice mix of music and easily fit in requests. My kids and staff were very impressed with his work. One person commented that they could tell he had a passion for the job. I look forward to working with Brian again in the future!

Finch on the Run did a great job at our wedding. We had a blast, and I think our guests did as well. Our friends and family all commented on much they enjoyed the music, games, and the friendliness of our DJ, Brian. He was able to get even the most unlikely of people, for example my aunt, out on the dance floor, and the blindfold game was an awesome way to get my friends involved. A special thanks, as well, for helping our guest that had partied to hard. You really came through for us there.
Once again, thank you for listening to our needs, and wants, and making the night enjoyable for all. We will have many special memories of our wedding, and many of them will be because of how much fun the reception was.

Brian had booked with some friends of our and then changed DJ's on them at the last minute. When we met with him (which was hard to do because he has a hard time returning emails) we asked him point blank if he would be our DJ and he told us yes. On the Thursday night before my wedding I got a call from a different DJ telling me he was going to be at our wedding. So instead of having a nice dinner with my out of town family, I spend about 45 minutes with the new DJ going over what we had already gone over with Brian. I got no prior notice from Brian, although he did manage to send me a very quick email the next day, but I never did get a phone call from him explaining the situation. The new DJ did ok (although he called the groom the wrong name about 4 times), but it was totally unprofessional of Brian to ditch out at the last minute. I should have known when he did it first to my friend. If you want a responsible DJ who will not add to your stress level, Brian is not the one for you. -

He is horrible!!! DO NOT HIRE HIM!!
Hello,
To those of reading the review, please do not hire this man for a DJ, it would be in your wisest choice to choose someone else, just read the story.
My wedding was just on June 22nd 2024 he called my phone ahead of time, that Saturday and asked for us to reserve a hotel room when he told us he owned a house in Madison, SD. He didn’t tell us who would pay for it, then asked me to talk to one of the hotel employees about giving him his hotel room key to him at the reception. My other half’s brother helped him unload the vehicle, DJ said he would be showing up by certain time, we thought he would never make it, but we also had the floods causing issues. During the reception, he kept yelling for someone like my mother or I to play the tambourine, maybe he should keep his eyes above the shoulder, not below the shoulder. When my mother and I refused he threw the tambourine across the room which was near the head table, thankfully because of where it was aimed no one was hurt, however he kept getting annoying on trying to get me to kiss my other half over the microphone, he also kept getting people to clap congratulations to the bride and groom over and over again, we don’t need it announced every hour on the hour, we know that we just tied the knot so do the people in the room. If my other half and I want to kiss, we will, otherwise we’re not big into kissing. He then proceeded to play music from a different playlist I made for dinner and post reception which was for take down so no one would have to take down stuff in silence, NOTHING from the reception playlist I made was played AT ALL!!! Which we told him we would need him to be there for that, and he didn’t stay, he left early. He also kept adding an I into my legal first name, which kept aggravating me, only certain people I’m fine with do that, NOT HIM!!!! He also couldn’t play my music because I didn’t pay for ad free spotify! At this rate I could’ve bought some speakers for myself set them up and programmed it with my mother half to do what we wanted or told someone here’s how we want it done. We also were supposed to play reception games, the reception entrance I gave him a list of how everyone is entering and he couldn’t even follow that it was my parents, grooms parents, ring carrier and flower girl, then bridesmaid with groomsmen, then MOH and Best Man then bride and groom. The fact he continued to ignore our wishes, I walked outside because I wanted a break, thankfully it was sunny and not raining so we left our own reception for awhile and got photos done, because I wanted to do something else instead of be around someone who couldn’t respect our wishes for the wedding! He is also a little creepily overly friendly and too personal, so I didn’t like talking to him on the phone, I always had someone on the phone in the room when he called. -

Find another DJ!
Less than professional, likes listening to his own voice on the mic during your reception, doesn't stick to timelines/songs provided, has scammed people out of money (including us - we paid for a day-of coordinator that wasn't provided. We had to have Venmo issue us a refund). -

Will make this one short, booked him. He canceled bc he was unwell, was actually dj another wedding. Will not send the check he said he would be sending for refund. And blocked me on Facebook after I've asked multiple times for an update.
Will be posting full story soon on the knot as well as Facebook:) has also been disputing these reviews. -

Do not use this company
I wish i didn’t even have to give a single star to put a review on here! I don’t even know where to start. I got married in May of 2021. I booked Brian as my DJ, along with a photographer and videographer a year prior to the wedding. At first everything seemed great and i was super excited. The closer it got to the wedding, Brian didn’t have any time for me AT ALL. He was always busy with other events, dart league, etc. There were multiple phone meetings planned to go over final details for the wedding and each time the night of the meeting would come, he was too busy and had to reschedule. It was to the point where i wasn’t even sure if we would have everything figured out come the actual wedding day. The wedding date comes around and him and the videographer, Cheyenne, his girlfriend at the time were almost late. They said they would arrive at a certain time so that my bridesmaids and I could be video-graphed doing hair and make up but they didn’t show up until hours later. So then the wedding happens and they go back to Nebraska. I was told I would have my wedding video NO LATER THAN JULY 4th 2021. That day comes around and it’s not ready yet. I was so lenient and “allowed” multiple extensions for the video to get finished. Cheyenne proceeds to make every single excuse in the book as to why I’m not able to have my wedding video even MONTHS later. I reached out to the photographer and Brian, since he is the owner, and he reassures me that he will make sure I get my wedding video and stresses that he was also very upset about the situation. He then tells me that him and Cheyenne broke up, as she left him for another guy and tells me that he will still make sure i get it even though they aren’t in much contact anymore. I thanked him, as he is the owner, so it is the right thing to do. It’s now getting closer to the end of 2021 and i still have not gotten my wedding video THAT I PAID FOR. Cheyenne kept giving me dates that it would arrive at my house, tells me that she took it to fedex but they lost it, etc. At this point she’s ghosting me now. She stopped replying completely. I reach out to Brian again and he got her to send me the video on a CD. i received the CD via fedex and i open the package to a scratched CD because it was not in a case. I then put it into the computer to watch the video (so excited because i finally got it) JUST TO FIND OUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO CONTENT ON THE CD. So now, Brian is going to give me a refund for the video i NEVER received. He asks if i could wait until after Christmas so that he is able to do Christmas with his family. Being the person i am, i said that i would be fine with waiting until after December 2021. January 24 comes around and i ask for the refund, he can’t give it to me yet because he’s battling Covid. I just ask that once he feels better, he gets in contact with me to get me the refund. I messaged him 4 times with NO REPLY until Feb 14 when he says “ I’ll be getting to it soon. Still fighting with Cheyenne too. But I’ll get to it. It’s just our slow season now and I apologize”. I told him i completely understand but if he didn’t wait this long, it wouldn’t be in his slow season. I then messages 2 more times with no response. I told him that this is the same run around Cheyenne gave me and i just want my money back. He replies on march 2 and says “ I’m not giving you the run around. I just got back from vacation in Arizona. You’ll get it this month. I’m done righting herb Cheyenne and will take the loss and pay you out of pocket. Then go after her for small claims.” AFTER THIS i message him 4 more times and he finally replies “I’m sorry doing prom now” on march 26. I’ve messaged him twice since then and he continues to read them without replying. I STILL HAVE NO WEDDING VIDEO AND I STILL HAVE GOTTEN NO REFUND. All i can say at this point is I will 100% NEVER recommend Finch on the run again, Brian has TERRIBLE customer service. Overall worst experience i could’ve ever imagined. I have every screenshot for proof and am not sure that this will be the end. -

Do not waste your money
DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS COMPANY!!!!! We paid for his company to provide a photographer and videographer and for him to dj our wedding. He gave me the run around for months about who my photographer and videographer were. I wasnt able to talk to my photographer til 2 days before the wedding (she was amazing this is in no way her fault or my videographer). Anyways at the wedding he smacked one of my bridesmaid butts and was trying to give my maid of honor his room key. But the real problem doesnt come til after the wedding. We paid him in February for our services and he has yet to pay either of them. He has gave me about every excuse in the book of why he can't which has all been lies come to find out. He seemed really nice but he is a complete scam artist so now the best day of my life has turned into a constant headache of trying to get them paid so i can have my photos!! We gace him the tip for our day of coordinater and she also never got that. How he is still in business is honesty beyond me. He is a joke of a business owner. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! -

7-23-2021 UNRELIABLE!!!!! NO SHOW!!!!!
My son was married on 7-10-21. Months before the wedding, I paid in full DJ service. The owner said one of his employees would be doing the work, and I ok'd it. Note: the owner and the employee have played dart league together for years. The DJ employee showed up the week of the wedding and worked through all the details of the songs to be played as the bride walked down the isle and the first dance songs. The day of the wedding, the DJ employee NO SHOWED. I contacted the owner immediately when we finally realized she wasn't going to show and he said he was ghosted by her. He said if he knew in advance she didn't NO SHOW, he could have remedied the situation. NO KIDDING!!! I could have remedied the situation TOO had I known she would NO SHOW. We ended up finding a speaker and downloading the songs to walk down the isle. The bride and groom were UPSET! No bride or groom should have to go through this on their day. I have never received a reason even though I asked...and the two of them have been seen together this past week at a bar. When I asked for a refund, the owner said he "needs time." When I asked what "time" does he need, he said one to two weeks. I received my money approx. 10 days after the wedding. It takes a lot to request "TIME" when your company failed miserably on one of the most precious days for a couple! -

DO NOT USE THIS DJ!! Look, all the reviewers only have 1 review!! Think about what that might imply. He stood us up at our wedding last weekend and my friend's wedding the week before! Who does that!!?? Look at the Facebook page, "DJ Scammers in Nebraska". Highly highly highly do not recommend. -

If you are looking for a stress-free DJ service, do not book with FOTRE.
Why? Put simply: Brian does not deliver what he promises.
1)Brian was late to our planning meeting (by more than an hour), and had confirmed date/time/place via phone and an email message beforehand.
2) (as previous poster commented) Brian assured he would be the one doing our wedding at our planning meeting, but ended up emailing and switching people the day before our ceremony. I did not learn of this until mid-morning the day of when I called to confirm what time the DJ was setting up (because I hadn't heard from Brian since our meeting and was beginning to wonder if we would have a DJ at all).
3) The "replacement" DJ (who I suspect was actually a replacement for the replacement) did a terrible job. Period. My family had to take over 90% of his responsibilities. And, the DJ was texting all evening and had two ladies show up to my wedding asking for him...?).
4) After I informed Brian that I was dissatisfied, we agreed on compensation. Yet, more than 10 weeks later I am still awaiting my check -- even though I was promised it on several occasions -- via multiple methods (email, facebook message, etc).
And, I DO have emails and other messages to back up this review.
In fact, I submitted my story to the BBB. And at this point have given up hope on receiving any compensation at all.
Brian makes big promises. My review is a 0/0 because he didn't deliver on any of them.
Be leery when hiring FOTRE. -
