We had the best time working with Event Team Entertainment! Preston was amazing as our MC/DJ for our wedding! Our guests had a blast and we have heard nothing but positive reviews! Shawn is the Best Around

We have hosted events for 25 years and chose Shawn Wittemore from The Event Team for our daughter's wedding. Having been around the industry and seeing all the different vendors, we were pretty tough customers since this was the first time hosting for one of our own. The entire wedding celebration was a 10 out of 10. We cannot say enough good things about Shawn and the quality and execution of a flawless event. Everything from the ceremony, emceeing for the dinner reception, and toasts, and into the dancing and sendoff, Shawn went above and beyond to make this truly memorable. All weddings have something or a few things you wish you could have done differently or had thought about after the fact. We could not have imagined this wedding going any better, and the feedback from our guests has been overwhelming. Weddings are stressful in many ways, but not this one. Shawn had it covered. Great to work with!

I've worked with Shawn Whittemore at Event Team Entertainment for close to 20 years and as I tell wedding couples: "Event Team Entertainment is one of the best!". This past Saturday Jacobson was the DJ at a wedding I coordinated and he did a great job behind the mic, directing the flow of the evening with class and a touch of humor. The dance party appealed to everyone, younger guests to older guests.

A review with a unique perspective

I have the unique opportunity to be able to review Event Team Entertainment from two completely different lenses…

First lens…I’ve known Shawn for over 15 years having been a wedding DJ myself. During that time, I got to watch Shawn’s metamorphosis into one of THE best at what he does in our industry in the country. Period. Hard stop. You’ll be hard pressed to find anyone that has the passion, attention to detail, personalization, and level of service that he has. I was in that industry for 26 years, and I have much respect for anyone in the business that is doing all the right things behind the scenes to master their craft. Shawn is an absolute master.

Second lens…my daughter got married on 6/23/24. I secured that date with Shawn immediately. What did I get in return as the father of the bride? Peace of mind that every detail would be covered. I experienced a wedding from the other side this time, getting to watch him direct and orchestrate a beautiful day from start to finish. I watched Shawn and his team go above and beyond to help set things up for the wedding – even things they weren’t responsible for. He had me smiling throughout the night, and yet weeping at other times with surprise music and edits customized for certain dances. The wedding felt magical, special. It’s a day I will never forget.

For anyone getting married or planning any important event, it can be hard to discern what makes one DJ company any different from another. They just show up and play music, right?? Far from it. When guests leave your event, they will rarely be talking about the decorations, the flowers, the food…whatever. What they WILL talk about - what they will remember for a long time - is how they felt. Shawn will make your event feel so special. He will make YOU feel special.

Magical and Memorable

Colin was an amazing MC! We had a Medieval-Fantasy/LoTR themed wedding and he made everything feel so fantastical and immersive. He beautifully read the room and matched the mood. Colin was super enthusiastic about our theme and music genres, and really helped bring the magic to life.

Shawn is the best in the biz!

I could not imagine choosing anyone besides Event Team Entertainment to Dj/Emcee our wedding. Shawn is truly such a professional, is so knowledgable, and truly cares that the flow of your event is seamless. He has so much great experience, and is top notch in the industry.

Shawn is also so kind, personable, and really lets you be a part of the process! He works so well with your other vendors, and can take control when need be.

Kind, Professional, and Attentive!

Shawn at Event Team Entertainment is absolutely one of our favorite vendors on our wedding day. He is so incredibly professional, attentive, organized, respectful….the list could go on, and on, and on! He did a great job of mixing together our wide range of music tastes while taking requests on the day of - leading the event as a phenomenal MC. Terrific DJ and Entertainment Service

We hired ETE to DJ our wedding back in 2019. From the start, we had a great experience with DJ Shawn, who put our minds at ease that our wedding would be handled with professionalism, creativity, and charisma. He was responsive to our needs, flexible and generous on pricing, and a great resource in helping plan our vision for the day.

We ultimately had to postpone a year due to COVID and Shawn was extremely flexible in working with us to make the day happen, despite obstacles. He stayed on at no extra cost, and connected us with one of the other DJs at ETE (DJ Robby) who would be available on our new date. When the day finally came, Shawn found time to join as well, giving us 2 terrific DJ/MCs for the price of one!

DJ Robby did a phenomenal job striking the right mood, getting people out on the dance floor, and creating special moments along the way. He also helped us design our playlist, and pick songs that worked out perfectly for the ceremony itself. He was a joy to work with.

While we had chosen a particularly difficult venue to cater, ETE did a flawless job with the sound and equipment. I would fully recommend hiring them for your event, whatever the setting or celebration!

Fantastic DJ and MC!!

Our DJ Robby (and his assistant) were absolutely fantastic! I would highly, highly recommend him! He helped prepare us by asking the right questions well in advance and was extremely flexible on the day of the wedding. He came prepared, was very professional and created a FUN reception! He also kept the event flowing and knew how to read the crowd. We would definitely use him again and can't say enough positive things about him! Well worth the money!!

Outstanding experience

Colin Hansen did such an amazing job with our wedding. He was incredibly prepared, helpful, relatable, and did an wonderful job all around! There is no way our wedding would have gone as well as it did without him. He played great music, kept people engaged, and made the entire day run very smoothly.

The best DJ & MC

He kept the crowd entertained and played the music perfectly! We were so thankful he was apart of our special day. He even added in a cool surprise for our vows into a song at the end of the night. We slow danced with all of our closets friends and family surrounding us with candles. One of my favorite memories of the night and he made it all happen for us.

Incredible

Shawn did an amazing job to set the tone for our reception. He was easy to work with, had great energy, understood our music style from the beginning and was able to set the perfect tone for an amazing night. He was a dynamic MC and worked so well with us throughout the night to keep things on pace. We had SO many compliments from guest about how much they enjoyed the reception, the music and the dancing. Colin was the best addition to our wedding

We used event team entertainment for our wedding DJ at Horning’s Hideout and Colin crushed it. I told him the vibe we wanted for each part of the evening and without a doubt, hiring him was an excellent decision. We had guests coming up to us after the ceremony asking us for our DJs contact info and raving about how good the music was (and as you are well aware music can make or break a wedding reception), the dance floor was full all evening and he kept the event running smoothly. As someone involved in the event industry, I do not give my endorsement lightly but Colin fully deserves it and all the praise for how fun our wedding was.

Event Team made our vision a reality!!

We were unsure how important a DJ was for our wedding day, but as we worked with Jesse, Shawn, and Bryce, we realized we could not have made our vision come to reality without them! Hiring Event Team was one of the best vendor decisions we made during the process of planning our wedding. The team is incredibly kind and professional. They take the time to get to know you as a couple and are ready to offer their advice on the flow of the day while also game to listen to some of the crazy "what if we did this?!" ideas that we had in the months leading up to the wedding day. Shawn went out of his way to make it to our rehearsal so that our entire bridal party felt confident going into the day. And Bryce was our DJ the day of the wedding. Bryce was incredible at making the day flow so that we didn't have to worry about or question anything--we just got to soak it all in. And OH MY GOODNESS...the dance party was one of the highlights of our lives. The energy was strong from the start and continued through the last song. Bryce was masterful at incorporating our must-play songs and reading the crowd for what perfect songs could work well in the moment.

We can't thank you enough, Event Team Entertainment!! You're whole team is amazing and I know any future couple who works with you will not regret it.

Jesse is Amazing!

Of the things people remember most about our wedding, the music and dancing is definitely at the top. If I could rate a 6 out of 5 I would. Jesse was incredible. So many things to say, where to begin? Upon initial meeting, Jesse put us completely at ease about our wedding day. He communicated his vision for his role on our wedding day, how he plans for each event, his expectations of his performance, and what he values. He is a great communicator, easy to get along with, very professional, and has an awesome, fun personality. Jesse is well-organized, on time and makes everyone around him feel welcomed. He connects with his couples and truly takes the time and makes the effort to understand what they are about and what their vision is for their wedding day. Jesse worked with us to not only understand what we wanted for our cocktail hour and reception, but to he worked to understand the details of our ceremony including song transitions, speaking portions, and song timing. His passion for his craft is very evident. Jesse brought our party to life. He quickly picked up the vibe of our guests as a whole and expertly wove our expectations with the feel of the room to keep the dance floor packed for every song. He definitely made all of our dreams come true that day.

Shawn was so great! He was so personable, friendly and an awesome DJ! Event Team was the best choice in DJ that we could have picked! We had the pleasure of working with Jesse and he was amazing, my husband is big on music and they gelled perfectly on the type of music we wanted to every moment of our wedding. Shawn was professional, approachable, knowledgeable, helpful, and an absolute pleasure to work with. Shawn not only played great music and MC'd our wedding flawlessly, but he also RAN our rehearsal the night before! He was so on top of it the entire time, I don't know what we would have done without him. The wedding party and family members on both sides couldn't stop raving about how amazing the DJ was! A few of my guests also told me he had the best playlist they'd ever heard and that they couldn't pull themselves off the dance floor, they were having so much fun. In addition to all of that, Shawn surprised the groom and I with a last dance song that was mixed in with sound bites from our vows. AMAZING. Shawn had an impressive attention to detail and awareness of the vibe and flow of the event, allowing him to make adjustments as the night progressed. If I could give 10 stars, I would!

You have seen all five star reviews here, and it is because they are well deserved! Shawn is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. When we first met with him 6 months before our wedding, he was very reassuring and give you the comfort that he is experienced to DJ for weddings. He knows his songs and how to play to his crowd, which is really important at a wedding given the general diversity of guests. He's extremely well prepared, and our ceremony, first dance, cake cutting, dance floor hours, and last dance were all executed flawlessly and beyond our expectations! He is also a great emcee, keeping the flow going and have the wedding run smoothly with the guests able to enjoy various activities ! We also ordered the photobooth, which was a HUGE hit among our guests (even among the older folks) :) Having Event Team has really made our wedding way more fun, and Shawn has really knocked it out of the park for us! Highly recommended!!!!

Shawn and his assistant did an outstanding job at our wedding. Everyone keeps asking me about them and i am so happy to share! They worked so well with all of the other vendors on the day of and helped make things run so smooth. Shawn knows what he is doing! He suggested a game at dinner to dismiss tables, but i had forgotten about it. When the time came, he started the game and people had a blast! It was a great way to keep things moving along as well as not letting the food line get too long! Every detail that went it to our wedding day was great! From the outdoor ceremony to the indoor reception, they had everything you needed and wanted! We adding extra lighting and a large letter as a backdrop that looked amazing. Everyone enjoyed the music and had a great time. I would highly recommend this company for your event!

Jesse was our DJ at out wedding in Portland over the summer. He was amazing! Not only did Jesse play great music to keep the guest dancing all night but he helped coordinate and organize the entire day. Jesse also came to the rehearsal to ensure the entire bridal party felt comfortable and gave good tricks of the trade to all involved in the wedding. Jesse was a great asset to our special day!

I had the pleasure of working with Jesse for my wedding earlier this month. Jesse was an amazing DJ to work with because he kept things flowing according to our timeline perfectly and knew the exact right song to play at every moment. He took my music playlist and really made every song shine. He kept our day flowing on time and we would have been utterly lost without him! Shawn was the most incredible and professional DJ!! We knew that he would be delightful to work with after our initial conversation. We were actually fairly vague on our wedding music selection and he just knocked it out of the park, also his ability to emcee a wedding is phenomenal and so so natural - a true skill. Jesse did an amazing job with DJing our wedding. First of all, he's just a really nice guy and wants to get to know you as a couple. We gave him minimal direction with what exactly to play, but he managed to capture exactly the feel we had been hoping for and even a variety of specific songs we had secretly been hoping to hear. He kept pretty much everyone on the dance floor for most of the night. We couldn't have been happier and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Shaun and the event team entertainment crew went above and beyond our expectations. Shaun made the music planning experience seamless and easy, and was helpful in making suggestions as we considered final music selections. He helped maintain the flow of the event so we did not have to think about timing, and he deserved every bit of the trust we put in him to make our wedding amazing. My friends and family consistently have said our wedding had one of the best dance parties of any wedding they've ever been to, and that was all Shaun who made it happen. Shawn came highly recommended to us from several of our other vendors and we were very happy with our decision to hire him for our wedding. He was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and we scheduled a time to chat to discuss the details of our wedding. He happily answered my questions and was genuinely interested in hearing about our vision for the wedding day. Event Team has a great system set up to allow song requests prior to the wedding as well as a detailed questionnaire so he knew all of the important times/names/etc. for the big day (this was great because I realized the morning of the wedding that I had forgot to submit our song list and frantically contacted Shawn to find out he had already went in to the system to get it). We met with Shawn as the wedding approached to review our timeline and songs and he was even there at our rehearsal to make sure everything was perfect. He handled the ceremony music, speaker and mic set-up and provided excellent flow and entertainment at the reception. He also surprised us at the end of the night with a special dance song that included us speaking some of our vows from the ceremony - wow! We initially were not sure that we wanted to hire a DJ for our wedding because it was going to be so small, but we're so glad that we did. Shawn is professional, fun and clearly excellent at his job - we'd highly recommend him!

They kept the flow of the reception and dinner going smoothly and the music throughout the entire wedding was exactly what we wanted (even stuff we didn't mention but LOVE)!!! My favorite thing about this vendor is that they were able to pull up music to add humor to the speeches from our MOH and best man. They are the best in the business and absolutely wonderful to work with!!

We could NOT have been more pleased with Shawn and Event Team Entertainment! From our first meeting (to go over song choices), to the emails in-between, to the wedding ceremony and reception that followed, everything was done to perfection. The sound quality was excellent during the ceremony. The reception time was super smooth and flowed beautifully. He did a great job at reading the crowd and the music was great! He even had a surprise for the couple (and everybody else)...it was unexpected and amazing! Shawn was such a great DJ, he was so easy to get in contact with before the wedding, we met twice to go over everything and he wrote everything down that I wanted and played every song I wanted at the wedding, he was great at keeping everyone entertained at the wedding and letting everyone know what was going on, he kept the ship running smoothly all day! I would highly recommend Shawn to anyone looking for a great DJ that will make sure he does everything he can to make the event fun!

I would not recommend anyone else. They were amazing. Good price for more than what you are going to get. All of them were on time, professional, had amazing music and sound. They even worked on a special entry with us. Most amazing night ever and would not have been that way without them. Also used there photo booth which was a huge hit.

Shawn and his team were incredible to work with! We knew that a DJ was one of our top priorities for our wedding, and we had attended multiple friends weddings that used Shawn. We were so impressed by him, we knew he would be our first choice when it came to our big day. We had planned a special portion of the evening dubbed as "Club Leahy" that came from a college joke between my husband and his friends. We wanted this party to feel like a club. Shawn helped us wow our guests giving us amazing ideas to really bring this to life. He suggested gold confetti canons that we had our bridal party set off at the perfect moment, creating amazing photos and really surprising our guests. He provided incredible lighting that changed to the beat of the music and to top it all off him and his team made a spotlight with 'club Leahy' written in it that projected onto the ceiling and around the dance party to the music that was such an awesome surprise. We completed it with a large 6 foot LED backlit sign and glow batons. Our dance party was one for the books and wouldn't have been possible without Shawn and his team. When I sent over last minute song additions the night before our wedding he made them all happen! In addition to a DJ, and lighting, we also used Shawn for our photobooth, which our guests LOVED! The backdrop was awesome, the guests had the option of sending the photo to themselves instantly and it was so awesome to see all of their photos popping up on facebook that evening! Shawn is the perfect DJ for any wedding. He has such a great presence and really knows exactly what to say to keep the flow going, as well as keep your guests on the dance floor! You will be so glad you hired Shawn for your big day!

This review is embarrassingly overdue, but I felt it was important to still do it.

I worked at a wedding venue for several years, and during that time, I saw my fair share of DJ’s. Shawn at Event Team was always my favorite. I knew that when I got married, he would be the DJ.

Well, this year, I did get married. And I did call him.
And a handful of my co-workers also got married, and they also called him.
I think that really says something about Shawn and the quality of his work. We all worked hundreds of weddings, and saw many different DJ’s – yet we all picked Event Team Entertainment.

Trust me when I tell you a DJ is what will make or break your wedding. Their energy, their personality, everything about them is crucial to the vibe of your big day. Picking a good DJ is likely the most important thing you do!

And Shawn and Event Team are amazing! He is so professional and so kind. From the very first phone call, he made us feel like we were the only couple he was working with. He has forms for you to fill out on his website ranging from must-play songs, to what order your bridal party should be announced in.

I felt completely at ease knowing it was in his hands. And he did not disappoint!

Due to a couple traffic accidents, we were late getting started with the ceremony, which threw off our entire timeline. But Shawn didn't skip a beat. Things got so rushed, that we weren't even going to get to enjoy our reception. Our departure time was quickly coming up, and we hadn't even gotten to just dance and relax. Well he and the venue talked, and decided to extend our time, in order to make our day. I can't thank them enough. That decision changed the course and our attitude about the whole evening. They truly saved the day.

DJ Shawn and his crew are perfection! Our wedding weekend consisted of two nights with Shawn and his crew and they brought the party each night! He really did his reasearch when it came to Bhangra and Hindi music as well as your traditional wedding and party music! He perfectly mixed the two and kept everyone on our timeline as well! He was also able to do some beautiful uplighting and designed a personalized monogram for our weekend which added to the overall feel and decor even more! If you have Shawn Whittemore working your wedding, it's going to be the best day ever. Shawn and his team were extremely professional from the day I met them. He understood our vision and brought it to life. I was completely blown away by how quickly he would respond to me through email with any questions I had. He was in charge of the music for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and it was absolutely perfect. The ceremony/cocktail hour was romantic and light-hearted, whereas the reception was an absolute party. No one left the dance floor. Not only did he play amazing music, he kept the night moving. He was energetic and such a great MC. I had friends/family come up to me all night and say how amazing the music and DJ was. I literally didn't have to worry about a thing. I don't think people realize how important a DJ is to a party. They basically run the show, and with Shawn, you can sit back and fully enjoy the day!

My husband and I couldn’t have been happier with Event Team Entertainment. Let’s begin with the highlights.

1) They hold to a strict rule that whomever you do your consult with, he/she will be the DJ at your wedding; No switch-a-roos like some other companies.

2) It’s true this entertainment company comes at a higher price, but they do so for a reason. If you want 5-star entertainment, you have to pay for it.

3) My wife and I never felt bored or awkward and there was never a moment where we noticed a lack of flow. The DJ’s were on point at the ENTIRE night (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) with music, announcements, and fill-in entertainment that kept our guests on their toes.

4) We had 275 rowdy guests and Event Team handled it like champs.

5) If you need extras: up-lighting, TV's, projectors, etc.- they have it.

6) Our head DJ, Shawn, never hesitated to take our requests for additions or subtractions to playlists, slideshows, etc.- and we made a lot of them. In addition, he was always willing to make great suggestions for pieces we needed help with.

We had many people come up to us the night of and in the following days telling us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to. Folks, Event Team’s entertainment was single-handedly one of TOP reasons we keep hearing this.

Working with Shawn and Event Team Entertainment was a great experience! He didn't just provide the music for our wedding, he made sure that the whole event was a fun, memorable experience! My husband and I both live outside of Oregon, so all of our communication had to happen over the phone and via email. Shawn was extremely communicative, and we always felt confident that on the day of, he would be able to help us put on a great event, and we were not disappointment! Up until the day before the wedding I continued to ask for changes, whether it was our first dance that I wanted to change, or adding my brother as a live musician during the ceremony. Shawn made the changes seamless, and helped provide the necessary equipment for our live musical interlude. I can say that Shawn literally saved my wedding. We had booked another DJ that failed to show up on our wedding day. Our planner/coordinator got in touch with Shawn who agreed to drop everything and come fill in for not only the reception, but also for the audio during the ceremony. With literally less than an hour’s notice he was there and had everything set up and going. And it was perfect. Everything was just how we wanted it (the right songs at the right time) and he was the perfect MC for our reception (gracefully making announcements to alert guests about what was happening next like cocktail hour time, speeches, and cake cutting). Afterwards he also sent us a recording of our ceremony, something I didn’t know we would get and can say I’m going to treasure forever. Had I known how amazing he would be I would have booked him in the first place!

Shawn was one of the very first people we booked, and he was by far one of the most valuable vendors at our wedding. Being a wedding vendor myself for the last 10 years has given me a special insight into events and weddings. I have seen over 300 weddings, and a large variety of DJs/MCs/Entertainers/etc. Time and again, Shawn and his team rise to the top, and now we have even more proof from our own wedding as to why they are THE BEST. You spend so much time and money planning, and then when the day arrives, you have such little control over the day. You have to be a bride and enjoy the day, and trust everyone else to make your plans come to life. You have to trust that vendors you selected will step up and do an incredible job. I not only trusted Shawn and his team, but I knew they would do an excellent job. They were professional, the sound was exceptional - even on a windy beach, they treated our guests with kindness and care, and they created the best environment to dance and party the night away. The biggest compliment I can give them is that I hardly recognized they were there. Everything was so flawless from them, that we were able to go and enjoy our guests and our day. What a gift! The only time we interacted with them was to keep the event rolling along. They would check in and make sure we knew what was coming up next, and they made our day unfold exactly as we had planned it. The fact that there was no complaints or issues, and they blended into the day so seamlessly is a testament to what an incredible talent they are. Your DJ/MC is a vital component to making a seamless and fun ceremony and reception. You want someone to take control of the schedule, and someone who will know exactly how to keep the flow of the day moving forward and in the direction you want. We so appreciated working with Shawn and his team! He was great at communicating throughout the planning process. As the mother of the bride, I was especially happy with the way he covered every detail at the meetings, always genuinely concerned with what the bride and groom wanted. At the wedding , he was so professional and also engaging and fun. He really draws the guests together! We loved the things we were able to add to our package! The photo booth was a big hit with our friends and family and we have had so much fun looking at the book that was created from the evening. We brought all the materials and our guests placed their photos and greetings on the pages. I can't even put into words how wonderful Shawn was at our wedding. He helped us out after a fiasco with another DJ and stepped in and blew our expectations out of the water. He helped guide guests to where they needed to be, made sure everything flowed perfectly and played the best music. Our dance floor was full for over four hours and I didn't leave it once. I cannot possibly say enough good things about our experience with Shawn and Event Team Entertainment. All of our guests to a one have shared that our wedding was one of the very best parties they have ever attended. And, for that, we have Shawn and his team to thank. The music was flawless, the transitions were seamless, the professionalism was unerring and the party nearly took the roof off our venue. Every. Single. Person. Danced. There was not a single dead moment during the entire six hours from the beginning of the ceremony to the last encore song. I have attended a great many weddings and know that this is not necessarily a given. Shawn is responsive by e-mail, engaging in person, and a true showman at events. If and when we have another event or need to provide a recommendation we will definitely turn to Event Team for our event coordination and sound needs. Shawn is not just a DJ. He provides a full seamless experience acting as your very own master of ceremonies. He is all of the things that you will not get from a well-intentioned friend with an iPod. Hiring Shawn and his team was undoubtedly one of the very best decisions we made while planning our wedding. He is truly worth every penny. What can I say?! Jesse Bearden ROCKED it! He did such an amazing job! The wedding went flawlessly and the transitions were seamless. My husband wanted karaoke at our wedding and Jesse was totally accommodating and to my surprise the karaoke was a total hit at our reception. Shawn did a great job at our wedding. He was one of only two DJs we reached out to and after meeting we knew it was the right choice for us. He was helpful with questions and planning along the way and on wedding day I knew I had nothing to worry about. He was great at reading our crowd to find the right tunes for us starting with classics and Motown to ending the night with some classic hip hop to keep me and my siblings dancing and singing the whole night!

We decided to have a DJ at our wedding kinda late in the game. Event Team Entertainment was on our venue's preferred vendor list and they had good reviews so I contacted them. We were set up with Neil Kirkpatrick and Sam. Ours was a destination wedding so we had to do meetings via Facetime and email. Shawn and Neil were great at helping us get our timeline in order! We added a photo booth option and they even designed a photo template from our wedding colors and other elements from our wedding (like the invites and favors). Neil and Sam were not only great at playing exactly what we wanted but he kept everything moving. Many commented how the whole night was seamless. The photo booth was a really fun addition and they had a ton of props. The DJs were professional and really cool and friendly. They nailed the music. We had some unusual music requests and it was not a problem. I was very happy we made this decision. If you're thinking of an iPod wedding (like we were) just reconsider it for your own good...I know it saves money but you get what you pay for. Think about it...someone has to man that thing and nobody is reading the room to change it up, if needed. Do you really want to worry about that on your wedding day? I am convinced that day wouldn't have been as fun an stress-free as it was if we had to worry about an iPod all evening. Event Team Entertainment made our wedding fun and seamless...exactly what we needed. And they are very responsive...a quick response from a vendor is just what a stressed out bride needs. Thank you so much, guys! You helped make this one of the best days of my life and you were a pleasure to work with.

Jesse from event team entertainment was Awesome from our first meeting with him through our wedding and still weeks after the wedding. He played bridal trivia and helped us find music and even got some songs into the reception that we wanted for certain people including a bone thugs in harmony song and it fit perfectly. Jesse Bearden was our DJ. He has a great personality, and is non-judgemental when it comes to playing non-traditional and/or um, "interesting" song choices. He was really flexible with being able to meet in person, and very quick to respond via email/text/phone. Shawn was more than we could have ever imagined as an MC/DJ at our wedding. He went above and beyond to full fill special requests I had, he included my 6 year old in the reception, and had an amazing surprise for us at the end of the night that had the entire facility in tears. He even ran our dress rehearsal (as I had a family member perform our wedding and he had never done one either) and offered extremely valuable suggestions, including how to stand for the photographer and how closely we needed to stand to get a good sound for the videographer. You will breathe a breath of fresh air and feel the weight lift off your shoulders when Shawn hands you the list of everything he handles during the ceremony/reception at your first meeting with him... What I was really impressed by was that while Shawn is the owner and has employees to help since he is in such high demand, he doesn't just send his employees to do the work every time. He attends and facilitates every ceremony that he is able to (seems to be on first come first serve basis, so book him early!) We 10000000% recommend Shawn with Event Team Entertainment!

I almost don't know where to start! We had some great vendors, but I have to say that Shawn blew our expectations out of the water more than anyone. In addition to being personable and a lot of fun to work with, he is also incredibly professional and will do anything in his power to ensure that your wedding is perfect.
From editing the first song of the night to a perfect 120 bps (which is apparently not too fast or too slow if you want people to get out of their seats to dance) to acting as our Master of Ceremonies, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Still, two more events of night exceeded even the highest of expectations.
The first thing was that my mom found an old recording of her father (who passed away 30+ yrs ago) playing a wedding song on the fiddle. She handed it to Shawn the night before our wedding in CD form which wasn't compatible with his system. I thought nothing would come of it, but during our wedding as my parents were walking up to the stage to make their toast, guess what song was playing? Shawn had re-formatted the song overnight and surprised all of us in that moment. My parents broke out in an impromptu dance for 30 seconds and the whole wedding was cheering. I don't think anyone knew that it was a surprise to all of us!
The second thing had to do with our last dance. Earlier in the day, Shawn had managed the audio for our ceremony. We start dancing to our last song (At Last by Etta James) and all of a sudden, I hear my groom's voice in the song. I thought he was up to something, but then I hear my voice. Shawn had recorded our vows and incorporated them into our last dance song within the 5 hrs since our ceremony! I had never even heard of a DJ doing that! It definitely brought us to tears and he sent us a copy to keep the very next morning.

Shawn and Jesse created the BEST dance party at our wedding! We danced the night away with our family and friends and every song was a crowd pleaser that kept the party going! After personally attending many weddings with bad noise and feedback issues, this was something I was worried about. The sound was perfect and flawless! The vintage microphone added a unique and awesome touch, especially in the photos. The subtle, yet mastered direction from Shawn was great to keep the crowd in the know and interested. We didn't really have anything planned for our exit and Shawn encouraged everyone to make a tunnel for us to run down....Seriously so fun and a great lasting memory with awesome photos at the end of the best night of my life. We worked with Shawn Whittemore from Event Team Management. He was awesome. We had a huge choir and a bunch of musicians for our outdoor ceremony - and he took care of all the complicated sound needs (microphones, speakers, sound mixing, etc.) Shawn also took care of the sound needs for our live band during our reception. Hiring Sean for our wedding was the smartest thing we did! Within our Romanian community it is very rare that we have DJ's at weddings, The norm is that a friend or family member of the couple will MC the event. We decided that we wanted to be risky and try something different! We didn't really know what to expect so we met with Sean (we had LOTS of QUESTIONS)! He was so patient and came prepared with lots of information on how he works! Boy, did that help!

Sean is very professional and he makes himself available to communicate easily! He responds to emails promptly! Sean made sure he was able to come to our rehersal and had his iPad with our songs for the ceremony ready. He stuck around until we were happy with everything!

On the day of the wedding Sean and his team came early to make sure everything was set-up to perfection. The photo station was also a hit with our guests! He made a template to match our wedding invitations, and had prints available for us, and each one of our guests! He had a ton of props available for our guests to have fun and express their silly side!

Sean knew how to capture the crowds attention! He spoke clearly with a pleasant voice so the guests would understand him! The music was played perfectly (not to loud and not to soft)! He followed our timeline and our requests of what needs to be done at the wedding! We had a few out of town guests that came from Australia and Romania and he made sure to make them feel extra welcomed! Everyone Loved Sean and his team, and at the same time they were expressing to us that it was a great idea to have a DJ! I think we started a good trend! Hopefully you will have lots of people contacting you Sean!

I also want to add that Sean and his team came dressed professionally, they were well groomed, and everyone always had a smile on their faces!

Our DJ was Jesse Bearden and we could not have been happier with him. We got married at an outdoor venue on August 30, 2014. The ceremony, dinner and reception took place in 3 different locations/buildings and everything sounded great and transitions were seamless.

It poured for hours in the morning, so when Jesse arrived early to set up the sound, we had constructed Plan B at an indoor location. After he had everything set up and had done sound checks (and less than 2 hours before the ceremony was set to start), the sky started to clear up so we made a last minute decision to move the ceremony back outside. Jesse & team tore down their equipment and had everything set up outside in time for the pre-ceremony music and the ceremony was perfect!

We loved the music selection during dinner - it was appropriate, but not cliche. Jesse interacted great with the guests and made sure everyone knew what was going on and when. He kept the guests informed well and the sound for the speeches was great.

The highlight was the reception though. Jessie obviously listened when we talked through the types of music and party we wanted and he incorporated everything we had talked about leading up to the wedding. He played a wide variety of music - from hip hop to polka to country - and all of it was well-timed. There were people on the dance floor the entire night, right up until the closing song at mid-night when we had 30-40 people still out on the dance floor.

Multiple people commented to us after the wedding how much fun it was and how great our DJ was. We met with Jesse once in person a few weeks before the wedding (he came to us, which was super convenient) and we had follow-ups via email after that. We always felt like he had everything under control and he added no stress to the weeks leading up to the wedding and the day of the wedding.

We would absolutely recommend Jesse and Event Team Entertainment and hope to be at a wedding they are working soon!

Shawn with Event Team was the DJ at our wedding and did a great job. He is very professional, reliable, and comfortable in front of a crowd. We were very impressed that he showed up for our dress rehearsal and had some helpful advice for the ceremony. On the day of our wedding he was there way in advance and had everything set up and ready to go. I had a few last minute song selections and he was flexible and let me hand him a cd the day of the wedding so those songs could be played. We would definitely recommend him to others!

I do not think a 5.0 perfect rating is a high enough rating for Shawn and Event Team Entertainment. He made our wedding function flawlessly. Even when a mic failed, he reached into his back pocket for a backup and no one even knew what happened. He was incredible keeping to our schedule but also flexible with us if things needed to be switched or delayed. His music selection was spot on for the crowd and kept the dance floor full from the first song to the last.

Hiring Shawn of Event Team Entertainment was a wonderful decision for us. He was professional, easy to work, and flexible. We gave Shawn pretty vague instructions for our playlist (start with oldies, move on to top 40s, keep people dancing) and he nailed it. I felt guilty when guests told me we had a great playlist, as it was all Shawn! We had guests dancing all night and our guests had a great time. We also did a great job of MC. I highly recommend Event Team Entertainment.

The only thing that upsets me here is that i can ONLY give 5 stars?! Really??
I cannot find words for how truly amazing our wedding turned out thanks to Jesse at Event Team. I have seen & heard of too many wedding DJ horror stories that i was a little nervous when it came time to book one.
As soon as i inquired, they were quick to get back to me & set up our first meeting. I remember thinking..meeting? This is already amazing haha. Jesse drove down to us in Milwaukie from Vancouver on a SUNDAY morning & met us at a Starbucks. We instantly loved him. He was extremely easy to talk to, professional, took great notes & REALLY listened to what we were saying. We had very specific music requests as well as a strict timeline & order we wanted our entire wedding to be in. He talked with us for about an hour & gave us the option to contact him later IF we wanted to book. We thought he was crazy, we all looked eachother like "Duh of course! Send over the contract!" We felt absolutely no pressure from him & that helped the situation incredibly.
Within a day or so he sent over everything we needed & set up another meeting. We ended up meeting up at various locations i believe 3 or 4 different times over the course of a few months. He was extremely flexible & willing to meet wherever at our convenience. 2 of the meetings happened to fall on Easter & Mothers Day. Yeah, he's awesome.
When it came time for the wedding, he took control, and made it a success. I had about 50 people come up to me & ask for his card & tell me that HE made the wedding the most enjoyable one they have ever been to. He wasn't obnoxious & overly chatty on the mic. He did his job, played great music, informed the guests of everything going on, took music requests, got EVERYONE dancing & made it the absolute best night of our life. My husband & I hate dancing & even WE ended up out there. It was crazy. We still continue to talk about how awesome Jesse was. We can't thank you enough! - Dallas & MacCoy

Any bride planning a wedding from afar can tell you there’s an added degree of stress, but Shawn made planning our wedding from London as easy and stress-free as possible. He was highly recommended by our reception coordinator and from the first moment I emailed him for information until the last I email I sent him the night before the wedding he was prompt and perfectly professional in all of his responses.

As someone who has not been to a lot of weddings I was especially appreciative of Shawn’s questionnaire that asked appropriate prompting questions to ensure no details of our reception were missed. Each step of the reception was thoughtfully crafted ahead of time, checked and rechecked by Shawn, then executed flawlessly on the day.

On our wedding day Shawn found an appropriate, non-intrusive time to introduce himself as we had never met in person. He organized our wedding party into the correct order for the introduction and checked the pronunciation of everyone’s names. After we were seated for dinner he verified the order and timing of events one last time, then coordinated with our photographer to make sure we got the very best photos.

What impressed us the most was Shawn’s ability to work off the script. When the toasts got rolling the best man made a reference to my husband’s habit for reciting speeches from movies, notability from “Independence Day.” Shawn found the speech and faded it in at the end of the best man’s speech so my husband could recite it with the same passion that he used to do in college. It was so seamless my husband thought the best man coordinated it with Shawn ahead of time. Most of our guests said it was their favorite part of the wedding.

The rest of the evening Shawn played great music along the lines we discussed ahead of time. He had fabulous instincts reading the crowd for when to play certain songs like “Shout” or slower songs. We feel incredibly lucky to have had Shawn involved in our special day.

Shawn and his team are without a doubt the gold standard in the business. We met with him early on in our wedding planning process and it was the best move we made. He helped us create a vision for our event and he helped us to add our own style and influence. Shawn constantly reminded us that this was our big day and urged us to do things our way. In addition to walking us through much of the planning phases, he helped us network with our other vendors. When the big day arrived, Shawn was absolutely on point. We were very happy with the service, music, professionalism and atmosphere that Event Team brought to our wedding. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Not only a good DJ but a good MC, which is what you want for your wedding! I can say with certainty that they are the best of both worlds.

Marc was always on point with all of the music for our Ceremony, Reception and was key to directing our guests where they needed to be. Event Team has creative ideas to personalize your wedding experience that you never would have thought of before talking to them. For example we put together Bios of all of our Bridesmaids and Groomsmen which were used to introduce the party into the reception. We played a fun trivia game about ourselves that released tables to the buffet and kept people entertained while doing so. I could go on and on about what a terrific job Marc did to make our day so special. These guys have a 5 star rating for a reason and that is why you really need to check them out before deciding otherwise!

Shawn did an amazing job at our wedding! From the beginning we was very energetic and excited to be a part of our special day! He was very organized and productive every time we met with him. His worksheets made it very easy to help us select songs for each important detail. He was also very knowledgable about music to give us suggestions when we were unsure of what we wanted. He kept our entire wedding night on pace and created a great environment for our guests. I wish I could give Shawn Whittemore a million dollars for the experience he gave us. He is the best money we spent on our ceremony and reception, hands down. If you're considering hiring anyone else, or going cheap on this vendor, I wish I could break through the screen and shake you!!

If you think a DJ is solely responsible for music, you are in for quite a treat when you hire Event Team Ent. When I think of the other DJ's we interviewed, I cringe to think what kind of event we would have had. Our first meeting with Shawn was so organized and impressive, my fiance and I were practically throwing money at him by the time it was over to be sure we secured him. From the second our ceremony started, worry couldn't have been further from my mind because I knew Shawn would execute the event perfectly.

Shawn is BEYOND professional, efficient, classy and SO attentive. No request was too big, or silly or annoying. He responds to emails in what seems to be nanoseconds and fulfilled absolutely everything we wanted and more. This is his PROFESSION, not his side job or something he happens to be good at. He has built a career out of his business and I assure you, NO ONE will give you the experience he will!

My husband and I were informed of absolutely everything by Shawn on our wedding day. He is truly a wedding director. Our wedding venue offered a "day of event coordinator" who was as useful as a trap door in a canoe. Thank God Shawn was in charge because absolutely nothing went wrong, he is flawless!! The attention and detail he puts into everything is so impressive. Last second changes? Handled. Nothing was a problem for Shawn, ever.

By the way, good thing he was there for our venue rehearsal or I would have been looking for that trap door! He was ON TOP OF IT. Anything that needed coordination or organizing went perfectly BECAUSE OF SHAWN. If you're having a reception of any kind, you will be so glad you hired Event Team to handle every detail.

We had Marc Brooks as our wedding DJ and could not have been happier. He kept our guests entertained while keeping the event moving forward. So many of our guests inquired who we had booked because they were so impressed. They loved that he was always letting them know what was going on so they felt like the event was very organized. There was never any down time where they weren't sure what they were waiting for. We had wanted a party where the dance floor was packed with people of all ages and that is exactly what happened. The music he played wasn't geared toward one generation or another but rather suited everyone's preferences. They continued to play because guests were still dancing and just turned down the bass to please the venue owner. They even stayed and played music for my parents and other guests who were helping clean up at the end of the event. They were a bit pricier than other DJ's I met with but you get what you pay for and the DJ is not something you want to cheap out on for your big day. My parents have said the next time they host a big party they will be booking Event Team because it was such a positive experience! Thanks Marc!!!

Okay everyone... Event Team Entertainment is literally the best you'll find. I'm trying my best to stay composed and appear neutral but THEY SERIOUSLY ROCK. I know it is sort of the new thing to save money, play an ipod and not hire a dj. We couldn't disagree with this more. Hiring Event Team Entertainment was one of the BEST decisions we made. And they aren't even that pricey! I would have paid twice the amount to get that service. Here is why we love them:

Thanks to Event Team Entertainment and especially the work of Shawn Whittemore, our wedding day was perfect. As with any bride, I had anticipated this event for so long and was beginning to get nervous that things were not going to turn out well. Ultimately, Shawn was so much more than someone who provided music. He got to know us and what we wanted for our wedding. He took the time to understand our preferences and how we wanted our ceremony to be. He provided all of the sound equipment and even came to our rehearsal to make sure things went smoothly. They offered a slideshow, lighting extras, and they have a ton of extra items to choose from, including digital cameras that you can put on the tables for guest to use.

At our actual wedding, he and his amazing assistant (whose name is Max I believe?) created the PARTY OF A LIFETIME. Even the old folks were there until the VERY end. I am not even joking. No one wanted to leave! It was late and guests asked, "Wait! It's not over, right?!" People also wanted the playlist, it was awesome. E.T.E. knows how to read a crowd unlike anything I've ever seen. Nothing felt better to have a wedding where people didn't want to go. And it was completely because of the fun party environment that Event Team Entertainment created.

If you want dj's who aren't cheesy (like some out there), who are eager to customize your wedding, and who provide the best wedding entertainment and organization, go with Event Team. You will look back and have zero regrets.

I worked with Event Teams for my wedding this past summer. I was very impressed with the professionalism shown and that every problem/question I had Shawn seemed to have a solution and was already 3 steps ahead of me. On top of being a pleasure to work with, Shawn and his team made me feel very confident and relaxed that they would make sure everything at the wedding ran smoothly and there would be no bumps along the way. I have been to weddings where it is clear that the DJ/MC does not know what he is doing or did not listen to the couple's likes and dislikes, Shawn was amazing in being SO detailed and prepared and really made sure our wedding reflected our style and what we wanted from the day. Event Teams was a little more expensive than some of the other options we looked into but it was totally worth it and probably the best money we spent for the wedding. And lastly, Shawn always got back to me very promptly, like seriously 30 minutes tops, and worked around our busy schedules for meetings.

He had great suggestions for us, provided not only DJ services, but went above and beyond by helping us with the flow of our wedding and keeping things on track, and was nothing but professional and supportive throughout our time working with him. He even surprised us with some awesome mixes and a great last dance song that incorporated our vows. SO cool. He will by far be your best choice for DJ.

Shawn and his team were amazing to work with. They truly listened to what my husband and I wanted and what type of feel we wanted for the wedding. Shawn even came out on the dance floor and taught all of our guests a line dance! He was professional and so much fun to work with.

Look no further. Shawn and his team are what you need! It was important for Shawn to get to know his bride and groom and understand what we wanted for our wedding day. He met with us twice and was very quick to respond through email as well. He covered everything and not once was I ever worried! He did an absolute fantastic job coordinating the rehearsal and the wedding day activities. He surprised us with a personal last dance song that included our own vows from the ceremony! We highly recommend him.

Of all the aspects of our wedding, I cared the most about getting a great DJ. I interviewed a handful that were recommended by friends, but Shawn was by far the clear choice and he did not disappoint. From my first conversation with him, he was professional, fun and knew exactly what he was doing. We didn't want a DJ that was cheesy, but rather someone that was cool, hip, but that would appeal to all audiences.

We met with Shawn for a few hours a couple months before our wedding and he was so much fun. He played a bunch of different songs for the different key parts of the wedding (first dance, father/daughter, mother/son, garter, bouquet, cake cutting, etc). All of his suggestions fit our style and were spot on.

Shawn came to our rehearsal as we he was also doing the music for our ceremony. He took charge and made sure everyone knew where they needed to be and when. The day of the wedding, everything went perfectly thanks to Shawn. He kept things moving and was a great MC for the night.

He kept playing the best songs and we had a 3 hour long dance party where everyone (old and young) was dancing all night. At the end, he did a special surprise and replayed our vows from the ceremony which was such a special treat.

My husband and I have been to a ton of weddings and Shawn is by far the best DJ we have ever seen- several of our guests echoed the same sentiment. I would wholeheartedly recommend Shawn for your wedding- he went above and beyond to make sure our special day was perfect.

Outstanding, Outstanding, Outstanding. I could not have been more pleased with Event Team Entertainment. Shawn was much more than a DJ; he was the master of ceremony and ran the reception. After reading the numerous awesome reviews, we knew we wanted Event Team Entertainment. So as soon as the wedding date was set, Event Team Entertainment was the first vendor we booked. Event Team Entertainment more than lived up to their reputation. We did not have to worry about a thing. Shawn kept track of the time line he setup with us prior to the big day so the bride, groom and parents could enjoy the reception. The clever and upbeat way he introduced the bridal party set the tone for the entire wedding. The wedding game he played with the bride, groom and guests was fantastic and fun. Our guests loved Shawn, and we are still receiving compliments. I highly recommend Event Team Entertainment!!!!!!!!!!

Jesse was AWESOME! We didn't have a coordinator and my grandpa was officiating for the first time so Jesse helped run our rehearsal. We also had surprise bridal party dance so he stayed to play the music so we could practice right after the rehearsal. On the day of he helped everything run smooth and kept everyone on the dance floor. I was shocked by the amount of people dancing at our wedding it was so much fun and it was because the music and DJ were so great. We got so many comments about how awesome the DJ was. Jesse was also super easy to work with before the big day, planning took no time at and it was super stress free. Overall he did an amazing job and was so easy and fun to work with. Engaged friends at the wedding were asking me for his info because they want him for theirs :)

Jesse was so much fun to work with and really made our wedding night great. Our guests said he was very responsive to their requests and kept them happy. His experience and professionalism was apparent. He's very knowledgeable about all types of music, easy to work with, professional, and flexible. For example, he drove all the way from Vancouver at 7pm on a Sunday to meet us in Beaverton at a local restaurant to meet our scheduling needs. He even had a beer and glass of wine waiting for us after the ceremony was over.....It doesn't get better than that!

Working with Jesse from Event Team Entertainment was a breath of fresh air! He is so full of positive energy that easily transfers to the dance floor, creating a dynamic and fun filled event. Not only was everyone on the dance floor having a great time on the wedding day, but the lead up to the big day was also a stress free process with Jesse. He is beyond reliable, responsive and a true pleasure to work with!!!

Shawn is the greatest DJ of all time. I literally could not have asked for something more. So fast and responsive, so sweet to meet in person, so affordable. He was our coordinator at the rehearsal and everything went flawlessly!! He is a great MC so the whole wedding knew when to be where. It was always on-time or ahead of schedule! And he kept the dance floor JAM-PACKED all night. He was the best person to work with. If you want the BEST WEDDING EVER--hire this guy! You WON'T regret it!!

Jesse at Event Team Entertainment was FANTASTIC. We liked him the minute we met him. He has an obvious love and knowledge of music and was very down to earth. He wasn't cheesy or over the top. Our guests rave about the music and the DJ the most from all of our wedding vendors. We highly recommend him!

DJ Shawn and DJ Jesse were absolutely phenomenal!

Initially we were going to manage all of the music ourselves. Our photographer encouraged us to think about getting a DJ to help facilitate the event and take any and all stress away from us and our families.

We met with DJ Shawn and immediately felt relieved to be in his hands. The level of thought and prep he put into getting our wedding right was really impressive. Hiring him and his team was probably one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Many guests made note of how impressed they were by the DJ's handling of the evening.

Luckily, we had a mid-week wedding so we were able to take advantage of reduced pricing.
