We hired John (cello), his wife (violin) & flutist (trio) to play during our wedding ceremony. Not only was he very poor at responding to any of my correspondence, but he kept emphasizing how they are 'professionals' & everything will be perfect on our wedding day. I sent them very specific songs I wanted them to play & when specifically during the ceremony. After several attempts to reach him to confirm that he received the detailed instructions, timeline & see if he had any questions, he finally said they could play the songs I wanted. I had to chase him down each time I tried to communicate with him. Not 'professional'. I wanted to hear them play first, as an audition to be sure I wanted to hire them. He rudely responded that they 'don't do that' & again 'they are professionals' & I would be happy with their work. They had samples of their music online, which you have no way of knowing if it's actually them playing. DO NOT trust this from any musician. You need to hear/see them play first. We also hired a professional opera performer to sing two songs for us at the ceremony. I suggested they meet up in advance to rehearse, which the soloist was agreeable to, but John insisted wasn't necessary. I specified for his trio to please wear tan pants & white shirts to adhere to the church's requirement, he confirmed they would. They showed up wearing all black. Upon arrival to the church, he never sought me out to introduce himself either before or after the ceremony. Not 'professional'. 1/2 the songs they played were not the ones I asked them to play. Most of the songs were out of tune & not in sync. They were so disorganized & ill sounding. Several times while I was at the alter, we were waiting on them to play at the right time & right song. It was embarrassing. Their timing was lousy & they didn't even play the right entrance song at the right time for me or the right exit song. I never heard from him after my wedding. Not 'professional'. This ruined my ceremony!
