Incredible photographers!

We are so, so happy we booked with Elisabeth Millay and Jonathan Young! From the very beginning, they were so lovely and easy to work with. They were incredibly organized and prepared in our initial meetings and for our location scout (the sun-location/season app they had was so cool and we were able to scope out ideal locations for natural lighting at different times of day.) Creating shot-lists was very straightforward and they asked great questions, including to ensure there was no day-of awkwardness with unique family relationships (divorces/deaths/etc.) They were easy to get a hold of and very responsive throughout the entire planning process.

On the day of our wedding, they arrived on time and made both my husband and I feel so comfortable. We are so glad they suggested doing the first look; they orchestrated it so perfectly and it was everything we'd hoped for and more - so magical! As we took photos with friends and family, they made sure everyone looked their best and smoothed out all the details.

Finally, the photos are INCREDIBLE! We are over the moon and so happy with them. Their candid style of photography absolutely captured the emotion of the moment and avoided awkward/staid posed shots. Their artistic vision is second-to-none; they have an eye for finding beautiful and unique spots within the venue property. They also re-touch every single photo and have a fantastic eye for detail. Amazing experience with even more amazing photos

Hiring Elisabeth Millay was one of the best decisions we made on our wedding day! My husband and I feel that she and her assistant were fantastic at every facet of their job. They not only captured beautiful portraits of ourselves and our families, but also incredible candid shots throughout the night.

Both Elisabeth and her assistant, Greer, seemed to be everywhere all the time! They were able to capture the moments we wanted without ever being asked to and more. Their attention to detail was obvious and appreciated. They worked well with our wedding planner and other vendors so that the whole wedding team felt seamless and stress free. We greatly appreciated their professionalism and dedication to getting the perfect shots without feeling over bearing or getting in the way of any guests of vendors.

During our couples shoot, they made us feel comfortable and at ease. They encouraged us to be ourselves and have fun which made for some amazing photos!

We simply could not be happier with our choice of having Elisabeth and Jonathan photograph our wedding. 30th Birthday Party

Do not hesitate!! Hire Elizabeth and Jonathan immediately! They have photographed 5 of my best friend’s weddings and my 30th birthday party! We all love them so much that we couldn’t imagine them it present at our important life events! Even though my request wasn’t traditional, they made me feel just as important and delivered stunning photos that I will have for the rest of my life! Jonathan and his team are simply experts at what they do. My fiance and I worked with Jonathan throughout the year on what we wanted and Jonathan delivered.

Jonathan has an attention to detail that is simply unmatched. He will capture every moment, every detail, and you will never say to yourself " did we get that?" or "I hope no one missed that". We have moments that we were sure no one noticed but alas he was there!

Jonathan blends his eye for detail, with his kindness, mindfulness, and carefully ensures that your day runs smoothly without interruption. Dream come true experience! The photos are amazing and Elisabeth and Jonathan are great photographers and people!

I had the pleasure of meeting Elisabeth and Jonathan at a friend’s wedding five years ago and after interacting with them and seeing their work from my friend’s wedding, I knew I wanted to work with them when it was our turn! Elisabeth and Jonathan have photographed several of my friend’s wedding since the first wedding five years ago, which I think says a lot about them as people and the work that they do!

Hiring Elisabeth and Jonathan for our wedding day was one of the best decisions we ever made! They were amazing to work with before the wedding in our correspondence, throughout our engagement shoot, and at and after the wedding in creating beautiful albums. They so beautifully captured all of the parts of our wedding day - we cried when we saw the pictures. Elisabeth and Jonathan have a way or capturing not only the traditional wedding photos, but also amazing emotional candids and captured the energy of our big day on the dance floor (some of our favorites)! The photos were beautiful and honest. Elisabeth and Jonathan are incredibly kind and worked so well together and with us. Perfectly captured our wedding day with stunning photos

Selecting a top-notch photographer was one of the highest priorities for our wedding. We did extensive research poring over countless portfolios, studying reviews, and speaking directly to several photographers. When we found Jonathan Young’s portfolio, we were immediately drawn to his photojournalistic style and how his photos beautifully captured the moment. We were excited to find out that he was available to photograph our Sonoma winery wedding and welcome reception.
From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure working with him. He was the ultimate professional, organized, knowledgeable, talented, and confident. In addition, he was extremely personable, and we received so many compliments from our family and guests on how he made them feel completely at ease.
Jonathan selected a terrific backdrop for the group photos and efficiently directed our wedding party (and our “best dog”) to capture beautiful group photos. He also took several gorgeous “detail” shots of the winery and elements of the wedding. It is an understatement to say that the candid shots he took were stunning. Looking at them now brings us right back to the emotions and feelings of that special day.

Perfect photos

Although we did not receive any wedding photos until 8 weeks post-wedding, it was absolutely worth the wait!

Jonathan is an exceptional photographer, who is very efficient, patient, and organized. Both my husband and I wanted to spend as little time taking formal portraits, and to spend more time with friends and family during cocktail hour, and with Jonathans help, we were able to do just that!

We decided to work with Jonathan after seeing his portfolio, and the way in which he captures emotion. We love that his photos are not staged, and rather capture people truly in the moment. Which is what we really want to remember.

Our photos are simple and natural and will be treasured for a lifetime.

Jonathan did a perfect job capturing what was the most special day in my life. I cannot thank him enough for his beautiful photos, and the ease in which it was to work with him. As every bride-to-be knows, the less stress the better. And with Jonathan there was NO stress!

One thing I was unaware of when we booked Jonathan, is that his wife Elisabeth not only can create wedding albums for you, but also is able to create Christmas/Holiday cards. Which was GREAT!

Jonathan Young was an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only is he insanely talented, he is kind, professional, helpful, and wonderful to be around. His calm demeanor immediately puts you at ease and captured everything perfectly. Jonathan is very detail-oriented and did not miss a moment of our special day. He has mastered the ability of having a presence but remaining in the background so you never feel overwhelmed.
Every photo he took was picture perfect. So many of our friends and family have said that our wedding photos are some of the most beautiful they have seen (and we’re a tough crowd!)

We loved his work so much that we recently had a family photo session with him and he knocked it out of the park (but no surprise there!)

Jonathan was a pleasure to work with from start to finish, but it was not until receiving the full photography set from our wedding that I realized how lucky we were to have gotten to work with him. He managed to capture all of the most memorable moments of our wedding, but also the moments that happened around us that we wouldn't otherwise have gotten to share in.

His candid images are shot in a photojournalistic style, so while the photos are flattering, they still have integrity, subtlety, and emotion. We will treasure these photographs forever.

Millay & Young went beyond exceeding our expectations! They are absolutely passionate about their work, and it came through in every stunning photo. Looking at our final prints, they did such an INCREDIBLE job at capturing intimate as well as candid moments.

After researching multiple photographers’ portfolios & having conversations with all, we knew Millay & Young was the right choice. They have a special knack for showing off brilliant colors & contrast, while still delivering clear photos. We knew our wedding would be a challenge, but they pulled it off seamlessly (as reference: [1] my husband and I are very different skin tones, [2] it rained sporadically on our wedding day, and [3] we used outdoor/indoor + day/night settings). Even with all of these elements, we couldn’t be more pleased with our photos.

Over the 2-day wedding, they were also able to wrangle our large families for group photos we requested, while remaining very professional & keeping everyone calm. And after the wedding, they were experts in the editing process. We were so impressed.

I researched for a while to find the perfect photographer for our engagement session. I came across Elisabeth's portfolio and new IMMEDIATELY she had to take our photos! Our engagement photos turned out TOP NOTCH. Top quality and classic which was exactly the look I wanted. She made my husband and I very comfortable and she was the most professional vendor I worked with during the wedding process. We LOVED our engagement photos so much that we booked her for our wedding day! We received our wedding photos earlier than expected. Jonathan is not only a talented photographer, he is also a very efficient, patience, organised, a very detailed oriented person. It makes the planning and the progress so much more easier. We decided to work with Jonathan after we saw his portfolio. We love how he managed to capture great moments and his editing style. He kept everything simple and natural. We are extremely satisfied with his editing skill. He kept the original colour tone and natural light and only do some minor touch.

We did not interview or discuss much with Jonathan before we booked him. As we are living oversea, we never met him until the wedding day. We communicated through email and he is very prompt with reply.

During the wedding day, he earlier to capture the wedding venue and during group photos he was very detailed oriented and take note of a string of hair on the face , a fallen leaf on the floor etc. He make sure everything is perfect before he captures it. He said it will take a few weeks to get the photos ready and he completed them a week earlier. We were extremely happy. Our family and friends are very satisfied with the photos as well.

He is very calm and patience during the wedding. We have a few babies and toddlers at the wedding. During the group photo shoots, he managed to capture all of them looking at the camera. Every children and every photos! I was amazed.

For all bride-to-be, Jonathan really did a perfect job and is a great vendor to work with. He will lightened your burden during the planning and on that day itself. And will keep you worry free on the wedding day.

Elisabeth Millay and Jonathan Young photographed our September 2016 wedding and we could not be happier with all of the incredible photos! They captured our entire day so perfectly... the natural fun and excitement of the day, the vibe, the setting, the dance moves, every detail, our personalities, and really made us so comfortable. They both have such a gift for capturing "moments", and their ability to not miss a moment is incredible. Not to mention they are both photographic ninjas... we literally didn't notice them at all during the ceremony, dances, toasts, etc. yet they somehow managed to produce absolutely beautiful photos not only of us, but of all of our family and friends. Elisabeth takes amazing photos and is super fun to hang out with, which is pretty key when you spend so much time with your photographer on your wedding day. Best of all, she doesn't over-edit her photos (because they're damn good in the first place). Everything looks really natural, just better. We were so happy with our photos -- she worked alone and yet managed to capture every important moment. I can't recommend her highly enough. She was just wonderful.

Elisabeth photographed our wedding this past May after also shooting my sister's wedding in 2013. She is an extraordinarily talented photographer - I say this without hyperbole. She has an ability to capture the best candid moments in a way I have yet to see duplicated. Jonathan Young was referred to us by family. When we started planning our wedding booking Jonathan Young was our only non negotiable. Working with him for our engagement pictures just gave us even more confidence about using him. I highly recommend booking an engagement session, gave us a feel for his flow/style.

On the day of our wedding he was discreet and did not interfere with the day at all. Many times I forgot he was there until the flashes came. He had an assistant as well which I also highly recommend. He did not just take photos he captured moments that literally caused us to be emotional going through upon receiving the final prints. He returned photos to us on the exact date as promised.

We literally cannot say enough about Jonathan. He works tirelessly and is so talented. I am confident he could make any wedding look amazing and make you feel like you are there.

Photos are all you take away from that one momentous day in your lives (and being together forever of course ??). That's a lot of pressure and a very important job and a lot of trust to put in someone. I'm so glad I chose Elisabeth. She and her husband partnered up at our wedding and they worked perfectly together. Elisabeth was flexible and moved the pictures along so we could get to the dancing. She was patient with all the flower girls and ring bearer carrying lollipops to invoke those hard to get smiles!! The quality and attention to detail as well as sticking to the list of photos but not afraid to venture ideas and suggestions. The quality and timing of the shots we've seen so far are priceless. I would recommend Elisabeth without hesitation.

We worked with Elisabeth for our engagement session in New York (where we live) and wedding in Napa. Working with Elisabeth is effortless. She makes you instantly comfortable and photographs such true emotion. Within seconds you feel like a friend is photographing you and you're completely at ease. Not to mention the end product is better than you could ever imagine.

We chose Elisabeth (amongst a host of reasons) because of her candid style. We wanted to document our big day the way it really happened. Not just have the perfectly posed shots. Her ability to capture a personality, emotion, moment, etc. is beyond words. The emotion that comes through in a single pictures is breathtaking.

She's also extremely dedicated, organized, accommodating, lovely to work with.. I could go on and on.
I'm by no means the most wedding-esque bride out there, and I'd love nothing more than to look at our pictures every morning. There is pure emotion in every shot - she is so talented. And given how quickly the day flies by, having those sincere moments captured the way she does are just invaluable.

My only piece of advice - she'll ask you for a list of any posed shots you want. Take her up on this more than you think you even should. Her preference is the un-posed. So if you want multiple family posed shots, specify that. Otherwise, you'll get one (it will be beautiful!) but likely only the one.

Simply put, look no further if you are trying to find the perfect wedding photographer!! Elisabeth is magnificent in every single way. As many brides know, the wedding only lasts that day but the pictures last forever. As a result, picking the right photographer feels overwhelming! I found Elisabeth through a friend recommendation and I LOVED all of the work on her blog. She captured moments that you would want to remember forever beyond the normal shots and had this beautiful magic hour filter across shots. When I spoke to Elisabeth on the phone, she made me feel 100% calm and was so easy to talk to. I immediately knew she was the right fit for me and I didn’t need to look any further. Even though she already had the job, she wanted to walk the venue property with us before the wedding weekend and identify her favorite spots. She even went on her own to check what the lighting would look like at our ceremony time! As our wedding day approached, she helped me with the shot list, timelines and made edits to the schedule based on her prior experiences. As you can imagine, my wedding day experience was nothing short of phenomenal. Elisabeth brought such a calm to the crazy and moved through my laundry list of shots with ease. She and her assistant Erika were truly wonderful and while they captured every single special moment, they were never in the way. Then, I received the prints and all I can say is wow. I am not a difficult person to please but I would say I am not easily overwhelmed. When looking through what she captured, I couldn’t stop smiling, laughing or crying tears of joy at how perfectly my wedding day was captured. I flipped through the pictures for weeks because she captured so many amazing moments I had missed! One of the few things I knew for certain when I started wedding planning was that I wanted Elisabeth to photograph our day. She was such a pleasure to work with from the very start. She established a time line for the day of that eliminated any stress and she herself was such a calming force to have around. Elisabeth was an absolute DREAM to work with from the very beginning! I knew I wanted to work with her based off her portfolio; however, she was out of my price range. She was so accommodating and worked within my budget. She devised a schedule so that I felt comfortable with the coverage that also fit within our budget. My husband and I loved working with her for our engagement photos. She didn't overly pose us, and the photos came out extraordinary. I could not have been more pleased with the photos from our wedding. We have received so many compliments on them, and she captured the moments and our personality perfectly. I could not recommend Elisabeth more, and I will certainly use her for any other photos that we have taken! All my friends want to use her as well! She is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!

Elisabeth was absolutely fabulous to work with and I could not have been more thrilled to relive my wedding through her photos. She is a truly professional photojournalist. Her photographs captured the most important moments of our wedding day with incredible emotion as well as the more spontaneous scenes that she has an expert eye for catching. She was very open to having a list of posed photographs for the church after our ceremony, which was important to my husband and I, and was very easy to work with to create a timeline for the rest of the day. She also took our engagement photos around San Francisco and did a fantastic job capturing our personalities, our relationship, as well as the beauty of the city we both love. Elisabeth and her husband photographed our wedding and everything was perfect! I can't say enough good things. We absolutely love our photos, as does everyone who has seen them. She captures those special, candid moments better than any wedding photographer I've seen. We loved the focus on those spontaneous moments rather than lots of staged group shots. She has an amazing eye and truly captures the essence of the event, the setting, the personality of guests, and our feelings throughout the event. Elisabeth perfectly captured our engagement, rehearsal dinner and wedding day. When I look back at our photos, I am reminded of all the love in my life. Nothing was staged or forced. All of the pictures are very natural. Pure joy is pouring out of each of the pictures. She even got a number of shots of my brother smiling (he never smiles for pictures)! Elisabeth is extremely skilled in capturing those natural moments. Every intimate moment and detail was photographed with such love and care.

During the ceremony and reception, Elisabeth was like a ninja! She blended in so well and was never intrusive. Many of the moments she caught on camera were moments my guests and myself didn't even realize she was around!

From our very first conversation to when we received our wedding photos in the mail, Elisabeth was an absolute joy to work with. And, in countless ways, Elisabeth went above and beyond to make sure our day went smoothly. For example, she gently pushed the days activities along. Thanks to her, we made it to the church on time! She also was amazing at calming down myself and the rest of the bridal party.

Elisabeth was wonderful! She is so talented and so easy to work with. We had a meeting when I first booked her where she customized a photo package for me with my budget and everything I wanted in mind and we went through her photos and talked about the types of images and styles I liked best. She was in regular communication leading up to the wedding and afterwards. Everything was so smooth and organized. She went above and beyond to do the best job possible.

Beyond her total responsiveness, organization, great personality, and total flexibility; Elisabeth simply takes amazing photos. She can capture a scene and a moment like no one else. Cannot say enough awesome things about Elisabeth! She is crazy talented, and our wedding pictures exceeded all of our expectations. I will cherish them FOREVER, and I cannot find enough space on our walls to accommodate all of the amazing shots I want framed. Not only is Elisabeth amazing at what she does, but she is SO easy to be around, normal, and cool. Elisabeth Millay is truly a highly talented, skilled, and artistic photographer. She is able to find the perfect spots outdoors to capture the natural light, and she is also able to produce amazing photos in even the darkest venues. One of the things we love about Elisabeth is her unobtrusive style. She's able to capture truly natural, spontaneous moments, and you wouldn't even know she was there! She's also one who does not need to keep snapping away at the camera until she gets what she's looking for. I remember from my wedding that she could take just a couple pictures of each scene or spot, and those pictures were all winners. With her, nothing is ever forced...and as a result, it makes for such a pleasant experience!

And what a joy it has been to work with Elisabeth both before and after the wedding! She is highly responsive to all emails, arrives to scheduled appointments on time, and is professional and kind. I shared with her a list of wedding photos that I had in mind of certain individuals and settings, and she took photos of them all. She also provided very helpful feedback regarding the wedding day itinerary. Additionally, Elisabeth is calm and thoughtful, making her a wonderful person to have close to you throughout your wedding day!

Finally, Elisabeth delivered all photos from the engagement session and the wedding day within weeks after each event, per the contract, so it was fantastic getting to see the photos relatively soon after the wedding day!

From the moment we met Ellisabeth, we knew we wanted her to capture our wedding day. She came to our apartment on a Saturday afternoon to meet us and her calm and friendly manner along with her amazing portfolio won us over. From the time we booked her, she was in communication with us and helped us every step of the way. She was flexible and allowed us to rearrange the package to our liking. Although she helped us create a schedule for our wedding day, she was never pushy or made us feel like we had to get anything done. Many people who attended our wedding and viewed our photos afterward said, "We didn't even see the photographer, but she seemed to capture every important moment." I think this is a perfect description of Elisabeth. She was always there to capture the most important moments but you never saw her or felt like she was overwhelming. All of our wedding photos were natural, real and beautiful. After the wedding, when we were ordering prints and our photo album, Elisabeth was highly responsive and was willing to make any changes we requested. When we received the finished products, they were excellent quality and stunning! Elisabeth's work is absolutely amazing. My husband and I loved everything we saw on her website and were so impressed with the photos from our own wedding.

She captured all the happiest moments from our day and she even made our cake (which I thought had way too many pieces of foliage) look clean and beautiful in the pictures.

On top of being incredibly talented, she is also incredibly responsive and just a fun/cool/nice person to hang out with. Makes such a big difference during the planning process.

I was originally afraid to reach out to her at all after seeing her work online and assumed she would be way out of my budget. Not only was she reasonable, but she made us feel like our wedding was the most important one (even though she also flies to weddings all across the country/world).

Jonathan was by far the best vendor we had at our wedding. Throughout the process, he provided consistently excellent service, and went above and beyond at every turn. Our photos came out better than I had hoped, and we haven't stopped getting compliments on them. From the beginning, Jonathan's calm demeanor and professionality struck my husband and I, and this turned out to be such an enormous gift on our wedding day. It also helped a lot in the planning process because he obviously knew what he was doing and could offer suggestions based on things that had worked before. Jonathan even ended up helping with last minute things for our wedding because there were some personnel issues at our venue the day of the wedding. Through our engagement photos to our wedding day and after, communication was clear and he delivered on all his promises. He even worked with my husband after our wedding (secretly!) to get some sneak peak photos printed and framed so that my husband could give them to me on my birthday. These little details added up to make our wedding such an amazing experience. Thank you!

People always ask me "how did I choose my photographer?" For me it was the easiest task in all of the wedding planning. I found Elisabeth's work way before I was even engaged and truly fell in love. I thought to myself if I get married someday, this talented lady has to photograph my dream wedding, and she did! I am a wedding photographer myself, so for me, I truly wanted someone I trusted, someone I enjoyed being around, and someone who is incredibly easy to work with. She was everything I ever wanted and more all in one bag.

Elisabeth is calm, incredibly sweet, professional, unobtrusive, helpful, attentive, and beyond talented! I knew she was the one that would capture all the moments and details just perfectly. My dad whom hates taking photos even complimented me on how fantastic our photographer was! Hiring a wedding photographer was the biggest decision in our planning, it was the wedding I have dreamed of having since I was 5 years old, and I wanted the perfect person to not only capture our personalities, but to also capture the entire wedding day as it unfolds. Once I saw Elisabeth's work, I just knew she was the perfect photographer for us.

Elisabeth is talented in every aspect of Photography. Every single photo she takes is like a piece of art you want to hang on your wall. Besides being super talented, she is there to help you whenever you have a schedule question, whenever you might need to figure out anything for the wedding day. We got the best photographer out there, and I couldn't be happier! We truly love our Wedding Day photos! Elisabeth was a joy to work with from start to finish. Our engagement shoot was an amazing adventure and when we first saw the photos, we couldn't believe how stunning they turned out.

On the day of the wedding, Elisabeth helped calmed my nerves and her wonderful second shooter did the same for my husband. We loved working with Elisabeth -- who was there, but not intrusive. We found Jonathan through a recommended vendor list, although we did not go with the initial venue - we were blown away by Jonathan's pictures on his website. We decided to meet with him in person and instantly knew that his calm and professional demeanor were a perfect match for us. We hired him to shoot our NYC engagement photos and destination wedding/rehearsal dinner in Vermont.
He arrived on time and prepared for all three events and did such an amazing job. We love his vision and his keen eye for detail. We constantly get praise for our photos from both family and friends. The day of the wedding he was right on time and got all the shots that I had requested along with his own shots. He even helped with the coordination of the limos, when they were late! He was on his cell phone making calls to the right people. But he is great like that and will jump in when needed, whether it's fixing your hair or organizing the group for photos.
Lastly, the day of the wedding is always hectic and stressful. You will have a lot of different people and vendors pulling you in different directions. But Jonathan is different in the sense that he is seen when needed and then disappears and takes all these amazing photos, that you didn't even know existed! He works his way through the crowd and you would never know he's there. He even snuck back up to our ceremony location while everyone was in the tent dancing to get a "Night" shot of the house with the lights on. I had no idea he ran back up there, but I absolutely love that shot! My advice is to trust your photographer and give them to freedom to do what they do best, and you will be amazed at the results!

I simply cannot praise Jonathan enough. He was hands down the best (and, first!) vendor we booked for our wedding, and I must say that we had some pretty fantastic vendors. Very early on in the planning process, I stumbled upon some of the most gorgeous wedding photos I had seen, contacted Jonathan immediately, booked an initial meeting with him (along with my now husband) and then immediately after, booked Jonathan for our June 29th wedding. We were so impressed and comfortable with Jonathan from the get-go and did not want to mess around. I am so glad we didn't - he books up quickly and now I truly know why. Our photos from our wedding day far surpassed my already-high expectations. Jonathan is authentic, has a keen eagle-eye for detail (important!) and is a true artist. His photos capture "real" unedited moments that tell a unique and comprehensive story of the entire day, and each is better than the last - if that is even possible. They are visually stunning, unaltered and utter perfection. Jonathan is incredibly easy to work with, efficient, very responsive and a true professional. His unobtrusive manner, super friendly demeanor and eye for style is a total plus. His associate, Kelly, was also remarkably wonderful - it's evident that Jonathan knows and trusts those he enlists for help and holds his associates to very high standards. Simply put, his work is top-notch and worth every single cent.

The beauty and vitality that Elisabeth captured in each and every one of our photos is one of the greatest gifts we received from our wedding.

Napkin color? Don't care. Programs? Couldn't bother. Picking the right photographer for our wedding in Yosemite, California was one of our top priorities. From the moment we met Elisabeth at another friend's wedding we knew she was the one....not only as a kind, loving spirit, but one look at any of her albums and you're sold.

There is a simplicity and a sense of timelessness Elisabeth embodies that transcends to her innate artistic ability. Working with her was effortless. We exchanged a few emails: for each chaotic one of mine, Elisabeth responded quickly, calmly, and candidly. She helped plan out our shot list, including complicated step-family combinations. During the wedding, Elisabeth was calm, helpful, and a total dream to work with and have by our side. Our "first look" was a moment I'll cherish forever and it calmed my nerves before the ceremony in front of 200 guests.

She quickly sent us breathtaking images of the ceremony, thoughtful details, our joyous families, dearest friends, and striking shots of Yosemite. Each compliment I hear about our wedding includes something along the lines of "the photos are absolutely gorgeous!" One friend remarked that she didn't even realize we had a photographer because she never made a scene or imposed herself into what was happening.

Looking back at all of our photos, I could not recommend Elisabeth Millay more. She is talented, professional, sweet, helpful, and a joy to be around. It almost makes me want to plan another wedding...almost.

Jonathan Young shot our wedding and our engagement session. Not only was he extremely professional, but he is incredibly talented. He has such an eye for detail that really comes through in his work. He manages large bridal parties with ease. (ours was 12 on each side!) He was very efficient with his time, but more than willing to do whatever it takes to capture an amazing photo. I could not have asked for a better photographer out of Elisabeth Millay. Not only was she professional, but she was a great companion to have during the wedding weekend. She truly became not just a vendor, but a guest and friend to everyone at our wedding. Even months later, friends and family are still discussing how wonderful and easy it was to work with her.

Receiving the proofs of our photographs was a party at our household. Tears of joy, laughter and lots of smiles occurred going through the photos. It was so fun to relive every moment of our special day through her photographs. She has an incredible way of capturing sincere and meaningful moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.

One of the greatest things about Elisabeth and her work is that she strives to bring out the personalities of each bride and groom through her photographs. She is able to reflect each couple differently, making each photograph unique and candid.

Jonathan was exceptional from start to finish. He was very easy to work with and had great communication via phone/ email and highly responsive. Leading up to the big day he helped keep us organized and on schedule as we stressed. On the day, he made everything easy and most importantly FUN. We had a photo shot list, but the day of we had fresh snow and so we used it and the pics turned out amazing. The rest of the day was great and he helped keep our big family with plenty of personality on schedule and in place. He worked well with my grandparents as well with my little niece. Overall, I would recommend Jonathan to anyone. He offered great value for his services and was flexible.

Elisabeth was a truly a pleasure to work with and we cannot recommend her highly enough. A wedding photographer occupies a uniquely intimate space, needing to be close at all times while also not inserting themselves into the event. Elisabeth found the perfect balance of familiarity and professionalism and genuinely added value to our day beyond the beautiful photographs she produced. Where do I even begin?! Elisabeth had done a friends wedding a couple of years ago and I fell in love with the pictures. We knew instantly after meeting her that she would be a perfect fit for our big day, professional yet laid back. We were engaged for two years and she was the very first vendor that we booked so needless to say we had A LOT of e-mail exchange and she was always so responsive and calming. When I freaked out because we had to change our venue, she just rolled with the punches, a few weeks before when I had no idea what the plan for the day would be, she sent me a recommended schedule and made sure we stuck to it the day of. Our wedding day was an absolute blast, we took pictures before the ceremony on the beach and had so much fun just goofing around with Elisabeth and Kelly. We had TONS of people come up and say how great our photographers were, not "in the way" like some can be. They just seemed like guests, guests with really big cameras strapped around them :).

Aside from her having an amazing personality and really making me feel comfortable (which is beyond important in my eyes) the pictures are absolutely breathtaking. Our preview was on her blog within two weeks and on the photo sharing website in their entirety in a month and I was blown away. She captured every detail, every tear, every laugh (and there were A LOT!) perfectly. I felt like I was back at my wedding re-living every moment, and I know even when I look at these in 10..20...30..years I'll immediately be sent back to that day. I cannot thank her enough, and would absolutely recommend her to anyone and everyone.

We hired Elisabeth to shoot our April 2012 wedding after scanning countless photographer websites, never quite falling in love with anything -- until we saw Elisabeth's images. Luckily for us, she has the personality to match - warm, super down to earth, but also extremely talented, prepared and always in control. We booked her as soon as we met her and I couldn't be more thrilled with out decision. We're obsessed with our pictures (as are our families and friends) -- they're absolutely beautiful and capture the spirit of the day perfectly - the emotion, the joy, all the people we love looking just like themselves but especially gorgeous. Jonathan was amazing to work with throughout the entire processes of planning the wedding and especially on our wedding day. He was so responsive to all of my questions and was super professional and on top of things. My wedding took place over the weekend of Hurricane Irene last summer and Jonathan and his wife Elisabeth made the trip into the city despite suspended public transportation and crazy weather, and a last minute venue change! Elisabeth was our photographer for our July 2011 wedding, and choosing her was probably the best decision we made during the entire wedding process. It is nearly a year after our wedding, and I still look at our wedding photos several times a week wearing a huge grin.

Elisabeth takes beautiful photos and manages to capture the spirit of every moment. We have gorgeous, romantic photos of just me and my husband, emotion-filled candids of all our guests, and energy-filled photos of everyone on the dance floor. I've had so many of our guests say that our wedding photos are the best they've ever seen, and already one of our guests has used Elisabeth for her wedding (the pictures of which are also stunning!).

I am so happy that I booked Elisabeth as our wedding photographer. We met Elisabeth two years earlier at my cousins wedding. The one thing we noticed right away was that she melts into the crowd and you don't even know she is there. My husband did not care about any part of our wedding except when it came to hiring the photographer, he wanted Elisabeth and so did I. We just got the photos back from Jonathan and I could not stop looking through them! They were simply beautiful - he was able to capture beautiful fleeting moments, create wonderful portraits, and capture the overall energy of the day. He handled the group portraits with ease and yet he was organized enough to get them all done without leaving any out. The rest of the evening, he was everywhere all the time. Even our guests mentioned how accessible he was!

As a photo enthusiast, picking a photographer was the HARDEST part of planning the wedding for me. It was important to me not to have the traditional wedding photos, but to have a more documentary, real, and un-staged feel. All the research I was doing to find the perfect Photographer kept ending me in the same place...until a friend recommended looking at 'Brooklyn Bride' and that's when I saw Elisabeth's profile. The picture for her profile caught my attention instantly. As soon as I went through your images and blog, I knew that this is exactly what we were looking for.

Elisabeth is one of the sweetest people we had met in this entire process. Very laid back and extremely knowledgeable. She is extremely talented and you can experience that right away by just looking at her work. She has an eye for amazing pictures and capturing moments you didn't even know were happening. Working with Elisabeth was such a wonderful experience from start to finish! We met her an entire year before our wedding and over the course of that year, she responded to all of my emails - questions, wedding planning updates, and all!

On our wedding day, she was such a trooper walking with us and our bridal party from our ceremony to our reception on a hot June day. Although I hardly ever saw Elisabeth working during the day, each time I turned my head, she was there capturing a great moment! It was so calming knowing that everything I may have been missing, she was there.

Words cannot even express how lucky we were to have Elisabeth there to capture that day. I got butterflies when I first saw our wedding photos... they are amazing!

Friends and family and everyone loves them! It is incredible how she managed to photograph moments within moments. Until I saw those pictures, I had almost forgotten how I was bopping with my dad on the side of the dance floor while my husband danced with his mom.

My husband and I are also having Elisabeth design our wedding album and we couldn't be more excited to see all the photos brought together! Elisabeth is a true artist and sees things in a way that others don't. She was the best choice we made for our wedding!

Elisabeth captured both the details and the emotions of our wedding day perfectly. Hiring Jonathan Young to document our wedding was the best decision we made. From our first meeting to the very end of our wedding day, he was top-notch. He is a phenomenal photographer, but also a great person. Many of our guests, went out of their way to say how kind and wonderful he was. He captured the day with great detail, when I first saw the photos, I can remember exactly what I was thinking and the waterworks begin!!!! He was responsive to every e-mail I sent, and addressed all of our concerns in great detail. My husband is a "manly man" who does not enjoy taking photos, but once he met with Jonathan and did our engagement photos, he could not raving about how great he is. As a person, he is super nice, patient (with all those last-minute things that come up), very professional - you can tell he has a lot of experience. It made the photo-taking process (which I'm very shy about) very pleasant. Kelly led the photobooth option we selected - honestly, the photobooth was something we unexpectedly splurged for, and it was worth every penny. It really captured the guests in a fun and casual way full of their own personalities. All of my family and friends went out of their way to tell me how they thought Jonathan and Kelly were so great too. I can't stress enough how happy of a bride I was in selecting Jonathan to be there for the big day. Thanks Jonathan + Kelly!!!

Jonathan was an absolutely wonderful wedding photographer from start with taking engagement photos in the Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn, New York to finish on our big day in Esopus, New York. Jonathan was very professional and listened to all of our ideas/views and provided informative and suptle changes as needed. Jonathan was able to go with the planned details and also accommodated spir of the moment photos. What we wanted on our big day was somebody who could blend in and take pictures of the actual event and not staged. Jonathan was very sociable and liked by everybody in our wedding party, family and friends. We enjoyed receiving the pictures from the wedding and picking out photos for our albums with our family. My parents in particular were very emotional looking through the pictures. Jonathan was a excellent pick for a wedding photographer and everything we could have asked for. We highly recommend him to future brides and grooms.

When planning our wedding we knew that we wanted to have photographs that captured our personalities, and the feeling of the day. Jonathan has done just that in our photographs; when I look the photographs of our wedding, getting ready, the reception I can remember just how wonderful the day was, and everyone looks happy and natural. His familiarity with the location of our wedding bennefitted us - he was able to take us to great places for our portraits, but also capture the location beautifully. Jonathan is very flexible, personable and responsive and I would highly recommend him.

Working with Jonathan was an absolutely amazing experience. He is one of the most gifted an amazing photographers I've met. Beyond that, however, is just his demeanor and approach. So many of our guests remarked about how professional he was. He managed to capture the most important moments of our day without ever feeling like he was being intrusive or taking our focus away from just enjoying the day. He worked quickly with the utmost professionalism. Additionally, I was blown away by how he never missed a moment. If there was something important happening, even things I wasn't aware of, he was always on the spot to capture it.

This is by far the most important day of my life and leading up to it, we continually remarked about how excited we were that Jonathan was our photographer. We knew we could trust the quality of what we were going to get. He skillfully and subtly managed to capture the essence of our guests and our experience. I absolutely recommend Jonathan without hesitation. We were so fortunate to have such a talented professional, skilled photographer, and genuinely nice person working with us.

I cannot say enough about how wonderful Elisabeth is. She and the 2nd photographer Kelly captured every detail and every touching moment and made everything seem even more beautiful than what I remembered. I will cherish the photos that she took for the rest of my life and look forward to showing them to our Grandkids. She did not just document the day, she harnessed all of the feelings, emotions, and magic of the day and brought that all out in her photos. She is truly an artist. I higly recommend her.

One word to describe Jonathan Young Photography-- AWESOME! Reasons why he made my wedding just perfect:
- Answered all my questions very quickly and never made us feel neglected.
- Extremely professional and so easy to work with!
- Proactively took care of all the permits to take pictures at Grand Central Station
- Jonathan and his team were able to take HUGE family pictures so efficiently so no one in the family complained
- Captured the best moments of the wedding-- our family and friends laughing, dancing, eating-- they all came out PERFECT.
- I spent a lot of details on the decor and the photographs captured all of them with me asking!
- We have so many awesome pictures of our wedding day-- so even in 20 years from now ,we can look back and his work and remember how awesome it was
- They go the extra mile to make sure the day goes perfect.

Elisabeth is AMAZING!!! The few pictures we can see on her blog are exactly what we wanted. We can't wait to see the rest!!! Jonathan Young was amazing and captured our day perfectly. He was a pleasure to have by my side when I was getting ready and really helpful in answering all of my questions leading up to the wedding. He cares a lot about his work and delivering the best to you. The Banquet Manager where we had our reception remarked on how he works with different photographers for weddings all the time and that Jonathan was one of the best he's come in contact with. I highly recommend Jonathan to any bride and groom!

Jonathan took the most incredible pictures of our wedding! He really captured every bit of our celebration down to the tiniest detail. It was amazing to be able to go back through the photos and see all the beautiful moments we shared from a different angle, and even discover some new ones. The slide show he posted of our event on his website took my breath away!

Elisabeth is amazing!! I cannot say enough about how happy I am that she was our photographer. I had so many people comment on how she seemed to be all over the place, yet completely unobtrusive at the same time. Plus, she makes you feel so relaxed. Having seen just some of the pictures so far, my husband and I could not be more pleased with how well they came out! I strongly recommend her if you are looking for a great, photo-journalistic style for your wedding day!!
