James recently DJ’d our Tallahassee NYP Golden ACE awards gala at Hotel Duval and we couldn’t be more pleased! A very detail oriented professional, he would quickly follow up with us when questions arose, met with us prior to the event, and adapted to the special situations our event generated. Many of our attendees made positive comments on our DJ selection and we have to agree. James is a talented DJ and a dear friend of our organization -- you just gotta hire him for your next event!

James Scully is exceptional. He was responsive to my many emails, played the music I asked for plus the suggestions from my guests, and was very helpful at moving the evening's activities along. I would HIGHLY recommend him for wedding or event.

Tallahassee Magazine didn't host a wedding, but rather a major local event that incorporated 11 different hair salons and models and more than 600 attendees. The energy of the event was perhaps the most important component as it was important that attendees felt -- almost tangibly -- the excitement surrounding the make-overs of the models. Thanks to DJ Scully, they did. He balanced announcements and music seamlessly, took the time to hunt down specific music mixes for each salon and kept the energy flowing throughout the evening. He was exceptionally professional, responsive to all questions and requests throughout the planning process and was extremely personable at every encounter. What this shows to brides -- and other event planners -- is that this DJ is one to which you can communicate your needs and feel confident in knowing everything will be taken care of to perfection. This is so important when planning a wedding or event, which is why DJ Scully is such a valuable and sought-after service provider. We plan, without a doubt, to utilize his services for our events moving forward.

If you are looking for a DJ that is fun, professional, organized, timely, and responsive, then you have to go with James Scully. He met with us in person prior to the wedding, and discussed all of the details. I immediately felt comfortable, and knew that I had made the best choice for our DJ. Right after leaving the meeting, he sent me an email so that I could send him songs as I thought of them. I ended up giving him a list of songs to play - and not to play, which he followed right on point. He gave us the heads-up before each part in our reception (intro, toast, cake-cutting, garter and bouquet toss, etc.), so that we could socialize, but knew exactly what to expect. I can't say enough that he made the reception flawless - but seriously the most fun ever - and everyone there felt the same way. If you want the best, you have to go with DJ Scully.

Before our wedding DJ Scully sent a detailed questionnaire asking what music we wanted played, what we didn't want played, etc. When the reception came, he adhered to it flawlessly.

He also was extremely professional. I had told our wedding planner that I did not want our DJ to "mc" very much...as in I didn't want the reception to feel like an event at a sports arena, with our wedding party being announced like a starting line up. However, I realized I never conveyed this wish directly to DJ Scully before the reception. It turned out I didn't have to anyway. He balanced the need to make certain announcements (cake cutting, etc.) and letting the reception carry on naturally.

Also, a couple of times when questions came up, he immediately asked my husband and me our preferences. He also was very flexible and accommodating when my husband and I had forgotten to tell him we were having a family member read a poem at the reception. He worked it in smoothly so that no one knew our forgetful mistake.

DJ Scully is awesome. Such a cool guy and very good at what he does. His music list is extensive and there was nothing he didn't have or even know about. While our wedding may not have had a large amount of dancers he did still play well to the crowd and was great about keeping pace. I trusted him from the moment I met him to handle it without much input needed.

James is a true professional with top quality equipment and service. There was never a doubt in mind that everything would run perfectly. He prepared for our reception including asking several logistical questions I had not even considered for the reception. He was more than prepared, both in the planning stages and the actual day of the event. Not only did he provide excellent entertainment, but understood the importance of making our wedding reception a truly special event, which it was! I highly recommend him.
