Hi Everyone! This is the the girls from the Dixie Gin. We wanted to respond to some of our critics and also thank all of you that left such kind words! Unfortunately, we are not in the middle of nowhere so we do have to implement the parish wide music curfew. We want to stay friendly with our sweet neighbors:) Also, we allow any caterers as long as they are licensed and insured. Lastly, we do have cooling units and heaters available for your event if the weather is not cooperating. Being a 100yr old tin building, central A/C is not an option. It also would take away from the authenticity of its history. We do, however, have two locations on the property that are air conditioned or heated for the bridal party. Hopefully you will find this information helpful. We are truly blessed to have so many wonderful and creative couples choose the Dixie Gin for their big day!

Awesome, unique place!!! Love it there!!

I fell in love with this location when I saw a local photographer take pictures and post them! It is so beautiful and rustic, and I just love all the possibilities it offers to every bride. The staff is WONDERFUL. Lauren was just awesome! She helped with everything I needed and was so laid back and just fun to be around! I wouldn't change anything about it! It is also extremely reasonable price wise for such a great venue!

Lauren and Ginger, the owners of the Cotton Gin are incredible and offer full wedding planning since they can accomodate the wedding and reception. They go above and beyond to make sure the Bride and family are not bother so they can enjoy this special occasion. All the guests raved about the uniqueness of the site. I was surprised that Donna Brian of Love in Bloom that we hired to help coordinate the plans had never been to the site. We wished we would have just let the ladies at the Cotton Gin handle all the event.

This venue has a vintage, country feel to it. I loved that it was kind of in the middle of nowhere. When I contacted them they got back to me within the next day. She was very professional and gave me a lot of information. I reviewed the information. The prices are fairly reasonable but the rules were a little off-putting. I was shocked at the 10:30 "curfew". Since it is basically in the middle of nowhere, and my wedding is going to be @ 7:30 on a Friday, I thought that the rule of no music playing after 10:30 was a little upsetting. There is also a fee for outside caterers, which I did not have for any of my other venues I was looking at. If you have yours on a Saturday during the day, this will be perfect! I will still consider this venue as one of my options though.

This is the most beautiful venue in Louisiana. I LOVE the look and everything about it.
The women that run it though aren't very helpful. They don't give you much information to get started and when you ask questions they act like it's horrible. Plus you pay a ton of money and it doesn't cover hardly anything. (You have to pay extra for everything!)

The facility was very nice, beautiful setting. But needs more accommodations for wedding party. Mainly air conditioner for bridal room and air flow for reception area.
