J.J., the owner of this company, personally worked our wedding reception and also provided our ceremony music. Both were outdoors because of Phoenix's beautiful weather this time of year. He was beyond professional at all times and jiffy on the spot when we needed to communicate before our big day. He was also very accommodating the entire time and had great interaction with the wedding guests during the reception. He kept the reception moving right along. You will be making a mistake if you pick another DJ for your wedding and not J.J!

My new husband and I are very pleased with the performance of JJ Michaels as the DJ at our wedding. He was very professional and very flexible as we did make several changes as the wedding got closer. He put together a slide show for us that exceeded our expectations. Desert Music Entertainment (DJ) did an amazing job at our wedding. He handled not only the ceremony but also the reception. DJ was very professional and read the crowd very well. One of my favorite parts of the night was the "Newly Wed Game" that we played. It wasn't something I had planned but DJ made it an amazing part of the evening that everyone enjoyed. If you are having a wedding in Arizona you need to book this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JJ the dj was the best. He provided a wonderful experience for my daughter and her new husband. The entire wedding was a blast to attend and a great part was due to the music and preparation that had been done by the dj.

My daughter was thrilled with the music selection and the interaction that the dj had with the audience. All of the music for the different parts of the wedding ie "father-daughter" dance, "bride=groom" dance, etc.... were like they had been practiced for weeks.

In my estimation the dj was one of the most professional men I have had the pleasure of working with in my lifetime.

We were married on March 1st and had hired Desert Music Entertainment DJs, on a recommendation from one of our friends, to be the DJ at our wedding reception. The owner, JJ Michaels, couldn't have been nicer and he was very organized. He met with us a couple of weeks before to go through the details which really put us at ease. Our DJ was Mark and he did a wonderful job of keeping the reception flowing which was a little difficult as we had a lot of guests. He played music that had our guests on the dance floor the entire night. They also produced a video slide show of our growing up pictures that had us laughing and crying (sometimes at the same time!) We had a very nice time at our reception and would highly recommend Desert Music Entertainment DJs to anyone needing a fun and reasonably priced DJ.

I cannot say enough great things about JJ! He is not only a wonderful professional; but so easy and wonderful to work with! I always recommend him to the couple's I work with, and was so blessed that Bethany & Mike chose him as their dj! Their wedding was wonderful, and the guests filled the dance floor until the very end; even then... they did not want the night to end! My job as a planner is easier because of JJ's running the reception! He has such a fun way about him; all runs so smoothly when he is taking care of the timeline, and keeping all on schedule in a perfect way!
He is just the best; I highly recommend him!! His prices are so reasonable; for the great, great job he does!! Every wedding I have worked him with at; just wish I had videos from! JJ is amazing!!

I was incredibly pleased with DJ JJ's performance at my wedding. He played the music we requested and much more. He did his best to get the frozen crowd involved but it was too cold to leave the heaters. I'm sure he was a little frozen when he was done too but he kept a smile on his face. I loved how he could tell me the plan for my wedding minute by minute.

JJ has some of the best customer service of anyone that I have ever worked with. I signed a contract for DJ and videography services from him and he was very prompt with responding to emails and sending information.
Several months before the wedding, I found out that only specific DJs were allowed at my venue. I contacted JJ with the bad news and he responded quickly, asking if I would like him to communicate with the venue. He spent two weeks speaking to contacts at the venue and trying to get in touch with the owner. He kept me updated the entire time. He was willing to go to any length to ensure that he could DJ at the wedding.
Unfortunately, the owner would not budge on the policy, and I had to go with another DJ (who was more expensive and much less customer-oriented). When it was clear that JJ would not be able to DJ at the wedding, he transferred the deposit that we made toward DJ services and applied them to the videography deposit, without any hassle. After all of that, JJ still kept in close contact and coordinated my communication with the videographer. He did everything he could to ensure that I was satisfied and informed.
JJ is phenomenal to work with and I give him the highest recommendation. He was by far the best vendor I had for my wedding, and he wasn't even at the event!

After having been to a few "plug in the iPod" weddings I knew that the DJ really makes or breaks the reception.
Having said that - I absolutely loved working with JJ at Desert Music Entertainment! He truly went above and beyond for me (a bride who wasn't exactly sure what she wanted). He stayed in contact with me, sent me song samples, and offered suggestions. On the wedding day he was prepared, friendly, helpful, and professional. From keeping everyone entertained while they waited for their meal to the last dance, I give him all the credit for making my reception the party I wanted, and getting my friends and family infamous for never dancing out on the floor!

JJ was the DJ for our wedding, and he was absolutely amazing!

JJ always answered his phone when I called, and he very promptly responded to e-mails. He was also very flexible with when and where to meet with us. He even met us out at our reception venue to scope it out for lighting ideas. He was very professional in all of our dealings with him. For value, you really just couldn't beat his prices. I literally researched prices and packages for dozens of DJs, and no one really even compares to JJ for value and quality of service. My fiance and I knew right after meeting with him that he would be the perfect fit for our wedding, and we could not have been more right!

Everything went perfectly the day of the wedding thanks (in large part) to JJ! He kept us informed of where we were running on the schedule and made sure to talk to both us and our photographer to ensure that we got all of our major photo ops in before the photographer's time was up. He also went with the flow when my fiance and I had to make some last minute, unforeseen changes.

I got many compliments on how great the music was and how fun JJ was. Everyone had a great time. The best part is that, while my fiance and I did make some requests, we trusted JJ to chose the vast majority of the music, based on our discussions with him about our likes and dislikes. He nailed the music selections, and this made it MUCH easier on us.

Overall, we could not have asked for a better DJ! Thank you so much, JJ!!

JJ was one of the only vendors who checked in with us throughout the planning process, and I really appreciated that. We enjoyed working with him, and I feel like we got a great value for the service, especially compared to many other DJ services ( I definitely did my research!) He was friendly and flexible and made us feel comfortable on our wedding day!

All I can say about JJ is that he was Awesome!! He really ran the show and kept things running smoothly. I got so many compliments from my guests about him. Being a bride is obviously stressful, and when some situations came up where things needed to be changed due to timing (not due to him) JJ remained calm and pressented great solutions to keep things rolling. He played all the music I requested, did not talk too much, and during dancing played songs that got all ages out on the dance floor. I would definately recommend him for your wedding.

Peter from Desert Music Entertainment was the DJ for our wedding at Juniper Wells Ranch in late September of this year. He was fantastic in every way. He was attentive and flexible when timing needed to change, had terrific suggestions and even surprised us with a video he took on the dance floor after the day was over. I highly recommend Peter, and Desert Music Entertainment in general (JJ was really helpful throughout the entire planning process and we couldn't have done it without him either!) for any events and weddings. Desert Music Entertainment was recommended to us by our wedding site coordinator. I contacted them and got a response from JJ very quickly! Our wedding was a little complicated, getting married in Michigan, Honeymooning to Iceland, and then coming back to have a party for our "Arizona People" with JJ - all within 2 weeks. Because of our crazy schedule, I needed to have AZ planned before we left for Iceland, which was a couple weeks before. When I told JJ this, he made sure to set up a time we could talk about music, timeline, and our goal for the night - we were just looking for a good time, not the typical wedding dances, tosses, etc. I also had a couple special requests, which JJ most definitely followed through with in a creative, entertaining way - kids 12 and under had to make their favorite animal sound to get their kids' meals!!! We had such a great night! A couple days after our celebration I met some friends for coffee and they were still going on about how fun the Newlywed Game was, the Hokey Pokey, and all the other little touches JJ added to our night! If I had to do it all over again, I would call JJ in a heartbeat and make sure he was, once again, a part of our celebration! Thank you!

Desert Music Entertainment brought the party to my wedding! JJ is attentive, responsive, and a great MC. His library is expansive, and he seemed genuinely enthused about hosting our event. Our rock-and-roll cocktail hour was the talk of the town.We had a great time reception games and special dances. He is great with guest requests too. We had a blast and have JJ to thank.
