everything was perfect! our contact person was super accommodating and answered every question and concern we had. she was the best! the chapel is gorgeous, so much so that i did not add any decorations, so that i could capture it's beauty in my pictures. i highly recommend Danforth if you are looking for an intimate venue.

My husband and I were married at Danforth Chapel on 12/13/14. It was absolutely stunning. My husband and I met while we were both attending KU, and we wanted a very intimate ceremony, so Danforth was the obvious choice! The new renovations are wonderful; the bridal suite served as a great place for our families to congregate before the service. Time is limited here (1 hour day before + 2 hours day of), but the chapel is so perfect it doesn't require much decorating. The chapel made our wedding so special, we wouldn't have changed anything! I can't wait to see the pictures!

My husband I were married here on May 1, 2014. Lawrence, KS is a good hour drive from where our parents and most of our other guests live, but once we saw the chapel, we fell in love with it and knew we had to have our wedding there. The chapel is small and intimate, and the stained glass windows are beautiful. The staff at Danforth Chapel were very easy to work with as well, and it was nice to have an hour the night before our wedding to do our rehearsal.
The only thing I would say is that parking is a bit difficult, but as long as your guest arrive on time, everything will be fine.

We were so happy with our Danforth Chapel ceremony. We were flexible on times and decided on an afternoon wedding, so even though I booked only two months in advance, I was still able to secure a Saturday slot. The chapel is beautiful and the price is very affordable compared to many other venues.

Love, love, love this place! My husband wanted to get married here, so it was important to me too. We booked it while the transformations were occuring and we were fortunate enough to get married after everything was finished. It looked beautiful! The new lighting helped my photograhper a lot and I'm so glad they did away with the red carpet. The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable.

Danforth Chapel is a great and beautiful location. It is very clean and a great place to get married. Make sure to book at least a year in advance since it does book fast!

When I first saw Danforth Chapel I knew that I would be having my wedding there. And unlike the rumors I have heard about difficulty booking the site, I was able to pick my date with ease. The only issue that possible weddings will confront are football games! However, we booked our wedding to be the week before the football season, and although the day was kind of hot the A/C in the building helped to cool everyone off!
Obviously, the site is one-of-a-kind and helped to make our wedding unique, but there were a few bumps that we (and other weddings) might hit...

The organ is not in working condition BUT there is plenty of room for a string quartet at the front of the chapel.

The women that runs that chapel is hard to get a hold of, but she is very kind and helpful.

    ALSO,
book the chapel as a student because if you do it will only be $200!

I love that we were able to get married on campus at KU! It is a beautiful chapel, and simple. The price is decent if you are a student. But for the amount of time you get it does seem a bit steep, but our ceremony was so beautiful, and if you want to get married on Campus it is the perfect place. It was exactly what we wanted!!

Danforth Chapel is gorgeous. It's a bit small - so if you're wanting a 100-person wedding (or more), this is not the venue for you. Rebecca, the woman who sets up the reservations for the venue is amazing - super responsive and very nice - willing to answer any stupid questions you might have.

I gave four stars on quality of service because the student worker who was supposed to let us into the chapel at noon - said she wasn't scheduled to come until 1pm. We had to call to get her to let us in. So for you future brides that are getting married there, you might want to call the day before to double check the timing of everything!

It is a little on the pricey side for a wedding venue, but I was willing to pay for it because of the architecture of the place - it is also a historical building so there are certain things you can and cannot use in the ceremony.

Overall, it was a beautiful venue and worked really well for our ceremony site.

Anyone considering a wedding at Danforth must have a good reason for it. While the disadvantages in terms of space, time and parking are plenty, the sentimental value can't be matched, especially if you and your mate hit it off at KU. In my experience I wouldn't change it for the world. Danforth made a very intimate wedding location that couldn't be matched by any other. On the other hand, there were a few disasters. I had my wedding during the renovations and the airconditioning actually started leaking so much that it was "raining" in the entryway to the chapel. I don't think anyone from KU even showed up before my wedding to try to fix the problem, but considering the time crunch they probably wouldn't have been able to fix it and get out of there in time anyway. So if you are a high maintenence bride who would go crazy if something major went wrong, Danforth is probably not the place for you. For me, on the other hand, the day was perfect.

Danforth is the adorable stone chapel on campus. When we reserved it, it only cost $35, because my husband was a KU student, plus $100 for the organist, who was very professional. Since our wedding they have been improving the facilities (e.g. adding a room to get changed in, which would have been nice!) so the cost may go up, but I'm sure it will still be a remarkable value. Great tradition and it's a very cute place.
