  Danae is INCREDIBLE!! I talked to her about the wedding location so she could get a feel for the look we wanted for my daughters wedding. She sent the first proof and it was PERFECT!!. Didn't need any changes, she sent to her letterpress person and we received the wedding invitations and response cards 2 weeks later. They are of the highest quality workmanship, by both Danae and her printer. Absolutely beautiful. As you can tell we were just so pleased with the decision we made in going with Danae. We had shopped locally and never did find the one invite that really made an impact. Danae's invitation and reply card DID make an impact. Just can 't say enough wonderful things about the quality of work and the beautiful calligraphy that she performed.

  WOW!! We just saw our wedding certificate and are blown away. It is absolutely STUNNING!! Elizabeth is an extremely talented artist, definitely one of the best calligraphers out there. We are so happy to display this beauty in our home. She created just what we wanted in her own beautiful style. I just can’t say enough of how great a calligrapher and painter she is. If you are looking for something special, this is your girl!!

  This is an edit to a previously very negative review. Due to a few misunderstandings, half of my order was very delayed (though I then decided to be flexible and didn't "need" the other half til after the wedding) and though I tried emailing her multiple times over a few months about the status of the second part of my order, I did not get any answer until I wrote a negative review. I have since received the second part of the order. Given the mis-communications however, the finished products are beautiful and Danae is very flexible in tailoring your order exactly to your wishes. A few stars were still docked because she had been very responsive over email at first, but then did not answer emails for a while (even to answer questions like, "what is the status of my order?"). She had also been a few days/weeks late regarding the first part of the order, which had been time-sensitive. However, she says that she has now hired an assistant and I hope that quells any worries that future brides may have regarding timeliness. In summary, her work is gorgeous and were it not for the delays and miscommunications (which are now hopefully addressed now that she has an assistant), she would have a 5-star rating.

  I first contacted Elizabeth Hernandez (Danae) on March 29, 2011. Through email, we discussed my
  requirements and she agreed to carry out said work as requested. She committed to complete my
  letterpressed invitations by the last week of May, 2011. My wedding was on July 15, 2011.
  
  On April 8, 2011 I paid her the requested deposit of $515.00 via PayPal.
  
  After many emails and phone messages which were not answered, Danae notified me via email on June 3rd: “I
  just got your message after being out all day; I will send you the proofs tonight or at the latest in the morning since I'm not sure if I can break away from a previous engagement tonight. I realize you are anxious for your invitations and I actually checked my schedule and booked your work/completion wrong, which is why I hadn't been rushing on this. I'm so sorry for that oversight”.
  
  Invitations which were to be mailed to me in Texas by the last week of May were partially received on June 24,
  three weeks before my wedding. Danae did not send enough envelopes and omitted ten invitations from the
  list. The envelopes were not those contracted. They were not lined. The last invitations were received exactly
  two weeks before my wedding.
  
  On June 27, I was still trying to see if she could finish my order and it was very difficult to find Danae as she
  would not answer emails or phone messages. When we finally received the by then prepaid invitations, the
  paper which they were printed on was not the quality or thickness that we had agreed on. The envelopes
  were of inferior quality to what was ordered, they were not lined and the glue on them caused them to stick
  together so that some of the paper came off even before they were mailed out.
  
  Half of my invitations which were supposed to be mailed to New York City by the last week of May were not
  ready in time. Danae had to mail them to France (since the recipients were domiciled in France). They were
  received in France on July 4th, eleven days before the wedding, which is unacceptable. In order to receive the
  invitations, my now husband had to pay 130 US dollars of customs fees, which could have been avoided if
  she would have completed it in the time period committed.
  
  In summary, the invitations that I ordered arrived two weeks before my wedding (one month late), they
  were not printed the way that I had requested (I ordered and paid for letterpress invitations and maps, she
  simply had them printed), the paper quality of my invitations and of the printed map was inferior to what I
  had requested and because she was so late in finishing everything, I was not able to have the envelopes hand
  lettered (which was the original order). A friend of mine had previously ordered invitations from Danae so
  I had an example of exactly the type of envelope, printing and paper quality that I wanted. Danae was very
  clear on the product that I ordered and she did not properly finish my order.
  
  I found Danae to be very unresponsive and unprofessional and I would not recommend working with her at
  all as she does not meet deadlines, does not respond and is not consistent with the quality of her work. She
  does not meet her commitment dates. I never received all of the invitations that I paid $1942.00 US dollars
  for, but due to the fact that the last packet that I received from Danae arrived 10 days prior to my wedding,
  there was nothing to be done at that point.
