Gorgeous private island resort. We went for 8 days (too long, we got bored at times), but it was total paradise. The talcum sand and turquoise mineral water is so therapeutic. We felt totally refreshed after our honeymoon. The rooms are stunning (we rented an oceanfront villa), the service is amazing, and everyone is extremely nice. The only downside is the food is the most expensive I've ever experienced. If you wanted a turkey sandwich for lunch, that's $23 plus service charges = $30. And that's without fries! And not even room service! They advertise their six award-winning restaurants, but only two were open on any given day, and one of those required a shuttle bus. We had one meal of sea bass (was about the size of a deck of cards...no side dishes or even rice...that was $10 extra) plus a small bowl of soup for $60+. We drank tap water. Ridiculous. We eventually rented a car and explored the tiny island. Even the little cafes we found were outrageously expensive. It cost $100 in taxes, fees, etc. for each person to take the ferry from St. Maarten to Anguilla. We ran out of funds on the very first day. It is lovely, but ridiculous. The best part was there were no kids, and no young honeymooners. It was relaxed, private, and restful. I'm glad we brought Clif bars so we wouldn't starve. We would definitely go back if they would just open a snack bar we could afford.
