Amazing photographer!

I highly recommend Kara from Conte Photography. Kara was organized, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, and has a great eye for what looks good. I chose her because of the bright, crisp, and colorful photos that she is known for, and I am so glad that I did! For our engagement and wedding photos, she gave us advice and helped us feel comfortable in front of the camera. She was also very efficient without making us feel rushed. Plus, Kara was familiar with our venue (Historic Acres of Hershey) so she knew all the best spots. My bridal party commented on how pleasant she was to be around, as she kept things relaxed and fun the entire time. She also did a few special shots that I requested and they came out beautifully. I can honestly say that out of 841 photos, there isn’t a single image that I don’t like. She really captured the joy of the day and we will cherish these photos forever.

I have not even seen my wedding photos yet and I am already recommending Kara from conte. Our engagement photos were fantastic and I am confident our wedding photos will be great as well. She was extremely easy to work with and the most professional of any vendor I had. She improvised when we were set back by rain and then got us moving when there was a break in the weather. She responded to our every need and request and had great suggestions with everything. She even helped me bustle my dress when my mom was not around and bridesmaids did not know how to do it. She figured it out! Highly recommend for any occasion.

Kara was the photographer for our wedding and engagement photos and we could not have chosen anyone better! From the minute we met Kara, she was professional, kind, and very helpful. She took the time to talk with us on both occasions about what pictures we were hoping to have and made sure everything was taken care of. On the day of the wedding, she showed up early and wasted no time taking pictures of the dresses, jewelry, and getting-ready process. During our family photos before the reception she moved quickly and knew the best way to get every combination of photos. I especially love that she was able to take photos during our church ceremony in a respectful way without blocking the views of our family members. Since we filled out paperwork prior to the wedding, as well as talked over the phone about the schedule for the day, I felt like Kara already knew what we were looking for and where to be at each time without needing to even ask us. If you are looking for an experienced and wonderful photographer for your wedding, I highly recommend Conte Photography!

We got married at Riverdale Manor and Kara from Conte Photography was our photographer. Kara was very professional and organize. She had planned out every photo so no time was wasted. We were able to to quickly take photos and get back to our event. Prior to the event she sat down and wrote down everyone's names and any special photo requests. I highly recommend having Kara take care of your photo needs for any event.

Our photographers were integral to the event running smoothly. You will have complete trust in these photographers (we had two at our event) because they will get every moment, both formal and candid. They are creative and have expert skills. Thank you Conte Photography for everything!! We got some beautiful, amazing, and funny pictures of our wedding day. I don't think you missed one thing. Conte is professional and flexible. Everything was great! The pictures turned out perfect. Lisa captured every moment of our special day! Our photographer, Lisa, was amazing! We live out of state and she was wonderful in helping us plan everything long-distance. She was able to accommodate our studio sitting for the week before the wedding so that we could work with her once before the big day. She was not only at the church early for pre-ceremony pictures, but also stayed the whole day until our big exit. We loved her professionalism, her style of traditional and artistic poses that we requested, how much fun she was to work with, and the fact that she captured every moment that we want to remember years from now. The variety of wedding packages is very affordable and had exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend Conte Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer!!

I called Conte Photography a week before my wedding, desperate for a photographer. (I had already contracted David's Bridal Photography aka Timeless Images, but cancelled them at the last minute because their work was completely unprofessional and not worth the $2,000 I had paid!) Anyway, I spoke to Kara Clouser at Conte & she was so friendly, helpful, and flexible!!! She totally saved the big day -- showed up on time, was very personable, took all the shots that I wanted and then some, and the photos turned out absolutely beautiful. The price was reasonable and I am so happy I chose Conte!!! Definitely recommend them, specifically Kara Clouser!

Our photographer, Tina, was exceptional! She was unobtrusive during the ceremony and during the reception. She had a great attitude and personality. It was a joy having her there and we are glad that she was part of our celebration. She made sure to get pictures of important people and events without interfering with the festivities. She took care to enure that the background for the pictures added to the picture itself, and allowed one to see the beauty of the day and location.

Conte Photography was so helpful with all of our photography needs. Included with their package is engagement sessions which was a really nice deal. They were at my wedding for the whole time we needed them which was about 10 hours. They were willing to try anything we suggested and the photos came out great. We had over 1200 pictures when it was all done. I would recommend getting the photo journalist package which includes another photographer. We got a lot of great pictures from a different "non-posed" point of view. Kara and Peter were so fun to work with the day of our wedding and made the mood exciting and fun.

We had Denise and Brian from Conte. They both were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made you feel very comfortable and relaxed while taking the pictures. Great sense of humor as well! At the end of the night they were just about to leave and the groomsmen decided to do a spur of the minute dance together, they put down all their stuff and came back to get more pictures. ON THEIR OWN, NO ONE ASKED THEM TOO!!!! THAT is what i call excellent service. I would refer them to ANYONE!

Conte Photography was extremely organized and kept us organized leading up to the wedding. Our photographer Tom was very friendly and professional. He took almost 600 pictures of the wedding and reception. All of our pictures were online for our guests to view in under 5 days. The pictures are beautiful and we can't wait to get our album!

I can't think of any reason any bride would not use Conte Photography. I could not have been more pleased from start to finish. I looked high and low for a reasonable photographer, and the going rate was easily $3000 or higher. When I found Conte they were less than other photographers and offered more services. First off they offered 10 days on your wedding day, which at first I thought who needs 10 hours , but time goes by too quickly and your day never runs on time, so I was glad that they offered 10 hours. I have to say the photographer Lonnie that I had was fantastic!!! He was on time, professional to a tee. He had us in creative poses and we were able to see the images on spot since it was a digital camera, so no waiting and hoping that it turned out. He had snacks for the little ones and was so nice to my family. He stayed until we left, he never complained and was a gem to work with.
I also love the fact that they have all the photographs on line so all the guests can view and purchase photos without having to call you. Trust me even after the wedding there is enough to do ( thank you cards, moving,unpacking, ect.) to do without hearing "When can we see the pictures." And they just don't put a couple on line, they put them all on line and people can create favorites folders. I LOVE THAT !!!
I honestly would recommend Conte photography to anyone getting married, it really is the best deal by far, and the pictures were fabulous. You really would be wasting your money and time if you went anywhere else!!

Our experience with Conte Photography has been great since we first contacted them. They made it so easy to set up appointments and were very fun to work with. Our engagement setting photos turned out amazing and they made Save the Dates for us to send out that all of our guests loved. The wedding day was perfect and our guests could not get over the amount of shots the photographer, Lisa, took and how unobtrusive she was. We didn't even know she was there! We are currently waiting for our album but our experience throughout the process was easy and they did whatever we asked them to do and more!

They are very experienced and have a lot of packages to pick from and help give you a timeline from when you book them up until your wedding date so you know everything that needs to be done. They are prompt at returning calls. Engagement photo sessions are well worth the money and you get a lot of pictures to choose from. Our wedding pictures turned out better than we ever expected and our photographer was perfect and professional on wedding day. We've had a great experience with them.

We were out of the area and they worked with us to do our engagement photos on a Saturday. Everything was great! We love our photos. Our engagement photos had some issues, but everything went smoothly for the wedding. Denise was even a pro and kept things flowing smoothly at the wedding and worked with the DJ! She also came to my rescue went my bustle ripped and she tracked down safety pins and fixed it!

Kara at Conte was awesome! We decided to do all of our pictures before the ceremony and she was amazing. You could tell she definitely knew what she was doing and made the whole process go quick and easy. So many family members commented on how good she was and how smooth the pictures went.

I just got to preview our pictures and there isn't one bad one!! I don't know how I am going to choose which ones I like the best because they are all so good! If you are looking for a photographer, definitely consider Conte Photography (Kara)! She was great and exactly what I was looking for.

My only negative would be the times they had available for engagement photos. We live near Philadelphia and they only do engagement photos on the weekdays, which wouldn't be possible for us. They did however, work with us and we found a Sunday afternoon that worked for both of us.

I really was pleased with the service that we recieved from Conte photographers! Our package was very inclusive - we got a DVD including all photos from the wedding with copyright permissions signed over to us. This was a requirement for me because I wanted to be able to print and keep all of my pictures. The quality of photographs was incredible and our DVD was ready for pickup before we got back from our honeymoon!! The cost was slightly more expensive than other places that we looked, but not many places will give out copyrights and DVDs of photos. I think the extra expense was well worth it!

The pictures were beautiful and I loved every one of them. But my photographer neglected to get pictures of my tables and some of my guests weren't in any of my photos. Our engagement photos were breath taking and are my most favorite pictures of us. I will use them again for family photos...no doubt

These guys were just plain awesome and surprisingly affordable. We opted for their digital package and ended up with over 1100 proofs! They also offer extras like a second photographer for the day and a CD with all your high-res proofs, so you can make your own prints and save money.

The Conte company has beautiful wedding albums and photos. They offer a variety of packages - mine included an engagement session, 10 hours the day of the wedding, 2 11x14 photos, and a beautiful leather wedding album. To have the Master DVD with rights to all the photos cost extra. We did this, but we really think it should cost less than it does!!! You can also have a second photographer for extra (we didn't because of budget restrictions).

Because it is a large company, you cannot choose whom your photographer will be the day of the wedding. We weren't thrilled with our photographer's personality, but she did do a fabulous job and was professional throughout the entire event. It was more of a personality clash than anything else.

The photographer also listened to the ideas that we had for photos. Also, she kept us on time for our reception. Overall, I am very, very happy with my choice of photographer.

Tina photographed our wedding on May 24th and we are INCREDIBLY happy with how it turned out! I chose Conte because of the family-business feel I got from Mike Conte at our first meeting, and because one of their packages provides the one thing I wanted. Digital high-resolution copies of all of the pictures provided on DVD with rights to print. Most of the pictures that I will be printing will be for photo albums or weren't even printed and will just be in albums online. I don't need expensive prints for that, and wasn't about to scan over 500 pictures to create online albums. I did pre-purchase 4 8x10s and 4 5x7s to be able to get professional quality prints of a few for ourselves and family.

Tina was a little late and missed out on the "getting ready" pictures, but, I was so nervous at that point that I think it may have been worse if she was there! Or it could have distracted me. Who knows. The way things turned out, I only have pictures of myself in full makeup and hair, and in my dress already.

She was so attentive the whole evening, I don't know what I would have done without her! She was as concerned with making sure we were okay and didn't need anything as our maitre d'! The pictures came out beautifully, and she was right. Most of the pictures that I thought "what the hell is she doing????" turned out to be some of my favorites!

1 star off for Tina being late. 1/2 star off for not including black & white/other edits along with regular shots, but I can do that on my own...

Conte was a great company to work with. The package was great and our pictures turned out really good. Would have liked to have some more creative/artistic pictures taken but overall everything turned out good.

Website access for family members to view the pictures was a great option. Everyone could view the pictures at their own leisure and purchase what they wanted

Ok for the money. The photographer neglected to get a photo of me with my dad - crucial at a wedding, and also of the extended families. He also did a great number of cheesy shots which we specified from the beginning that we didn't want and was obsessed with having couples kiss for the camera. Would have preferred more artistic photos and am very disappointed at the important shots that he neglected to get.

After hearing lots of good things about Conte and seeing great sample photographs we decided to use them. Unfortunately we were were disappointed. The photographer who was present when we signed the contract did not do our engagement sitting or our wedding. We didn't even get to meet the photographer until the day of the wedding. We were told that our photographer had worked at the reception location before but later found out that this wasn't the case. Some important moments during the wedding/reception weren't covered well and we felt that the end-products didn't live up to the example photos on their website. I expressed dissatisfaction to the company over the quality of service and product, and requested retakes at the reception location. The response was slow and they were reluctant to do retakes. We have now requested money back for the part of the package we did not use but have received no reply from Conte. Thankfully this was the only vendor we were at all unhappy with.

I have had a horrible experience with Conti. They did not deliver on what we were told our pictures would be when we booked with them. Since we have paid our final bill they have been unresponsive in our requests for meetings and such. Plus when we booked they did not tell us the engagement settings are only taken Mon-Thurs. 9-430 when you work full time those times are not going to work. And they also took the "liberty" of adding pictures to our albums at a cost of course. Ughh do not book with them.

On March 3, 2008, my fianc?e and I signed a contract with Conte Studios, Inc. for 2 photographers for our May 30, 2009 wedding. We contracted for the Digital E Bronze Package for $1179, which included 300 proofs on the master CD/DVD, bridal and engagement sittings, rights to reproduce images, web publishing of pictures and a maximum of 10 hours of service on wedding day. We also contacted an additional digital photojournalistic photographer for $800. Our contract total came to $2097.74 with taxes.

On March 3, 2008, I provided Conte Studios with the date, time and location of the wedding and ceremony. At this time I also informed Conte Studios that we were having an outdoor ceremony starting at 7:30 PM.

In early April 2009, we meet with Mike Conte at the Baltimore Studio for our engagement sitting. The sitting seemed very rushed and Mike Conte did not seem to take care in positioning us in the photos. I left the studio with an uneasy feeling, but I wanted to see the photos before making a decision.

On April 12, 2009, I email Lisa with all the instruction for the day of the wedding including times. The location for getting ready was left as "TBA" as we were finalized plans. However, it was make clear again that our ceremony was an outdoor ceremony starting at 7:30 PM.

On May 5, 2009, Lisa sent me an email asking me to pick a photo from the engagement sitting for photo cards for the wedding. At that time I went online to view our photos and realized I was not satisfied with the sitting. I wrote back to Lisa with the following: "I am not trying to be rude but I do want to be honest. We were not happy with the pictures from the sitting. We really did not care for any of them and have been very extremely worried about this because we want our wedding pictures to turn out well. If we have to choose from our sitting, we would prefer not to have the photo cards. We would be so embarrassed to pass them out to our guests. We were thinking about coming to PA for another session outside but are worried about driving all the way to PA for the same results."

Lisa wrote back on May 12, 2009, offering us to come to Mechanicsburg, PA for a reshoot of our engagement sitting. Mechanicsburg, PA is about an hour and a half from Baltimore and did not work for us right before the wedding. Lisa also replied with "Mike is the owner and is more of a sales rep and computer guy. He shoots the sittings in the MD office when he's there and does our sports shoots but does not shoot weddings."

On May 14, 2009, Lisa wrote me again with the following, "Just wanted to check in and see if you thought you had a digital shot of you and Wallace that you would like to use on the cards or would prefer me to use the flowers with wedding bands? I need to get them ordered soon so I have them in time." I then replied back with,"I don't know what to do. I don't have a picture to send you and I don't really want flowers with wedding bands. Do we have to have the cards? I am in the process of hiring a back up photographer to make sure we get good wedding pictures. So, I really don't know what to do at the moment with this situation."

Needless to say without going into more detail which I have plenty to share, when I saw the wedding pictures for the first time I was in tears at the quality of the photos. Many on the photo were out of focus, poor color and not professional quality. Out of 918 photo, only 4 photo were of just the bride & groom after the ceremony and were poor quality and could not be enlarged to put on a wall. The photographer name Katy was very rude and her equipment did not work properly have of the time. Jen the photographer we paid $800 extra for, shadowed Katy the entire night and neither was a photojournalistic photograher.

Michael Conte has ignored emails from both me and my mother regarding this situation. I have personally requested a face to face meeting to address my concerns and he still has not responded. Mr. Conte has failed to resolve this issue and has not responded to my BBB complaint.

07/28/2009 yw BBB RECEIVE BUSINESS RESPONSE: In regards to the day itself and the photography:

1. The bride requested the photographer come earlier than normal because she would be putting her dress on at the hotel. She requested the photographer come at 2:30. I spoke with the bride and informed her that this was way to early to start pictures, that we normally start at 4:00. I tried to explain to her that putting her dress on that early was unnecessary. She insisted that she would put the dress on at 2:30. The phone call turned unbelievably unpleasant and at one point she threatened to not have us come at all and "tell us to leave". I eventually ended up talking to the groom, and we compromised on a start time of 3:30.
2. When the photographer arrived at the designated time the bride was not ready for pictures and decided not to put her dress on at the hotel, but at the ceremony location.
3. From time stamps I know the bride arrived at the ceremony site at 5:45. She was putting her dress on at 6:06. At 6:12 she was ready for pictures.
4. The ceremony started at and finished at 7:30 and ended at 8:06 5. At 8:09 The post ceremony formal photos begin.
6. By 8:30 The sun was setting and the reception was insisting the couple come inside. At this point my photographer informed the couple she did not have any pictures of the two of them. The photographer only had 20 minutes (8:09-8:30) to get the pictures after the ceremony (normally these pictures take 45 minutes, the bride was informed of this at our initial consultation). At one point the couple told me the photographer had them for "over an hour".
7. At 8:45 Introductions begin at the reception.

The couple told me the photographer pulled them out of the reception for 45 minutes to do pictures. Again from time stamps on the images, I know this to be untrue, the photographer did pictures from 10:15 to 10:20, when according to my photographer the groom declared he was done. At one point in the reception my second photographer overheard the bride complaining to a guest about having to do the pictures. If the couple is unwilling to have their pictures taken, there isn't much we can do.

To this point we have provided over $1250 in refunds, products and services. I feel we have more than compensated this couple for circumstances well beyond our control. We have:
1. Offered a print package of a value of $392.20 (including tax) to this couple.
2. Provided an additional off site sitting at no charge ($318 value) 3. Provided the master disc with all images of the sitting at no charge ($106 Value) 4. We agreed to cover up to $300 of the cost of recreating the day (I went a step further and reimbursed $442.03)

As for not contacting the bride's mother, I see no reason, she is not my client, nor are any other of the 3-4 people the bride has had email me. As for not contacting the bride, I feel that after $1250, we have done way more than enough. The bride has been incredibly hostile, and has on at least two occasions misrepresented the time frames involved.

It should be noted that most of our customers are very eager to have their pictures taken and listen to our advice in planning and preparing for their day. We know what is necessary in order for things to go smoothly and to provide what they want. This bride chose to go at things her own way and disregard our advice. As a result, we were unable to get everything she wanted. Steps well beyond what would be considered necessary have already been taken by my studio as a form of resolution.

1. Both the contract and the company website states that you received up to 10 hours of coverage on your wedding day. On April 12, 2009, I emailed the information sheet to Lisa requested coverage from 2:30 PM - 12:00 AM. On May 25, 2009, we emailed Lisa with an updated information sheet with the same times but a different location for the pre-wedding coverage. The photographer called two day before the wedding trying to changes our day of schedule after everything was set because she felt it was outside the normal business hours, however the contact stated up to 10 hours of coverage. On May 29, 2009, Mike called me again trying to change the already set schedule after we planned the time as of April 12, 2009. We were not happy that the company was trying to change things last minute and wanted to use another company as I was not happy with the engagement session (had session redone at picture people) and was concerned about the wedding pictures.
2. When the photographer arrived the bride was not ready because the hair and make-up vendor showed up an hour last. The bride asked to have shots of the wedding party getting ready and having fun. She instructed the photographers that she would put on her dress at the reception site as they left a few members of the wedding party behind to finish their hair and make-up.
3. Once the bride arrived at Martins West, she put on her wedding dress and headed outside for pictures. The picture taken outside did not turn out well as the photographer had the girls positioned in half shade and half sun. The pictures are at strange angles, out of focus, poor lighting and not professional.
4. The ceremony started at 7:35 and pictures started at 8:09 PM. Again the ceremony pictures were strange angles, out of focus, poor lighting and not professional. The photographer was having flash issues during the ceremony and many of the pictures turned out poorly.
5. We were outside taking picture until 8:55 PM, them the photographer stated ''I am running out of light and we finish up inside''. The formal pictures taken outside were again out of focus, poor lighting and not professional. Again the photographer was having flash problems which affected the pictures. Never did the photographer states that she did not have or take pictures of the bride and groom.
6. Introductions begin at 9:05 per both the DJ and Reception Site.

The photographer pulled us out of the reception for approx. 30-45 minute for additional pictures. The company is trying to say we were only out of the reception for 5 minutes. However, you can clearly count at least 22 pictures taken inside with at least 20+ people (including bridal party, family, parents and etc). The bride and groom were standing aside waiting for all the pictures to be completed. Taking that many shots and repositioning that many people is impossible in 5 minutes. Also, the bride never may a comment stating she nor the couple did not want the pictures done. However, the bride did state that she felt she was rushed with the guests do to the amount of time with the photographers. Why would the bride and groom spend over $2000 for wedding pictures and not want their pictures taken.

The bride and groom choose the bronze package which was $1289 and included a Master DVD of all of wedding images (instead of a Proof Book). They added an additional photographer for aprox $900 to make sure no moments in the wedding were missed.

1. Conte Photography did offered a print package. However, we did not like any of the pictures taken and did not want the prints
2. Conte Photography did provided an additional off site sitting at no charge to redo our wedding formal portraits. However, we had to recreate the looking of the wedding day which was very inconvenient and was done because their photographer forgot to take pictures of the bride and groom.
3. Provided the master disc was included with the bronze package and not provided as a refund.

The bride did not have anyone email or call Conte Photographer. Anyone who emailed the company did so because they were not pleased and wanted to be heard. The photographers were rude and hard to deal with. The bride was hostile because the wedding photographer had lied about the time frames and ruined her dream wedding pictures. Mike Conte did not seem interested in listening to the bride and family/friends as customers put covering up his photographers for photo service and products.

It should be noted that the bride and groom were very eager to have their pictures taken and did listen to the companies advice in planning and preparing for their day. This is not just an issue of the timeline and forgotten pictures, but the quality of the photos as well. How can you hang out of focus pictures on the wall or make an album. We have copies of all emails and the contract we would like to submit.

08/12/2009 BBB MORE INFO RECEIVED FROM THE CONSUMER:
We would like to correct ourselves on the prior message. We paid $1179 for the bronze package and $800 for the digital photojournalistic package. We were told when we purchased the photojournalistic package that the photographer would stand in the background a take candid shots of the wedding. However, the photojournalistic photographer mirrored the first photographer as we ended up with the same shots and not real photojournalistic type portraits.

Again we would like to reiterate that this complaint is more than just a timeline complaint and the miss pictures of the bride and20groom. This complaint is also about the quality of all the wedding pictures as many of the pictures were out of focus and/or, poor lighting, poor color and etc. The main photographer has trouble with her equipment throughout the wedding as her flash was not work properly, resulting in poor quality photos. Our pictures looked more like one of wedding guests took the shots and not a professional photographer.

Since this was a wedding day, we cannot go back to relive to moment. There was only one opportunity to get the photos and that opportunity was missed. We understand the company did an offsite shot. However, again it was not our wedding day. Plus the pictures with the bridal party and family were not redone and the original shots did not turn our well. Therefore, our wedding is just a blur as we do not have quality photos of the day to relive the memories.

On the Conte Photography website under ''Join Our Team'' it states the following ''At Conte Photography, we are always looking for experienced professionals. If you are willing to learn, have your own equipment, and want to join our team of photographers, please complete the form below and we will get in touch with you to see if you are a good fit for our program''. This leads us to believe that some of the photographer they hire might not have the proper experience/training to shot weddings and/or need addition training. However, we don't believe ruining a customer's wedding by taking poor quality photos is acceptable.
