We knew from the beginning that we wanted cupcakes for our wedding and my mom suggested that we touch base with Christy as she had used her for events at work and everyone loved her bakery goods. We tested Christy's and my husband new within a bite that he was going to have those on our wedding day (I had to agree as I am not much of a dessert fan that these were the best I have ever had...the cake was so fresh and not processed tasting and the icing was not the overwhelming and heavy as I was used to tasting).
We went to one other taste testing and they did not come close to Christy's cupcakes! We immediately booked her and began working on what we wanted for our big day. Christy had us taste test several different types throughout the months leading up to the wedding which made making a decision on flavors so difficult that we went with 4 different flavors! She even created an edible monogram that went on half of the cupcakes! We were able to rent adorable cupcake stands for the country club as well.
I was so sad to get the email that Christy was moving back to California and called her in a panic to order an additional 2 dozen for my father-in-laws birthday this weekend to surprise everyone with one last taste. As I type this she just walked in the door with 2 boxes of cupcakes decorated with just as much detail and attention as those on our wedding day. Carlsbad is so lucky to gain such a great person and even better pastry chef! We will miss you and can't wait for a trip to CA to see the new store!!!
