Hire Coastline, thank us later.

John, Hunter, Jadelin (and Trisha back in GR)…WOW. We are speechless and don’t have the words to truly exclaim how perfect the experience with Coastline was from start to finish. Some context, we had a very different type of wedding. For starters, the venue was Michigan Stadium, it was a daytime party with a tailgate theme. Where Coastline really excelled was in understanding what we wanted from a video deliverable. We broke from the new normal — where most now want a social media-tailored and edited video. We wanted an old school, documentary type movie we could kick back on the couch with popcorn and laugh our butts off to. Most videographers told us they would only stick to their set packages while Coastline took on the challenge and exceeded our expectations. The team’s professionalism on our “gameday” was remarkable, mixed in with the positive vibes and jokes we craved in the dressing rooms. John was the captain and a pleasure to work with and — as we marked it “acceptable” on the pre-wedding survey — was effectively a part of the wedding to get the shots needed which we appreciated without being in the way at all. Hunter and Jadelin deserve a shoutout as well, they crushed it. We cannot wait to see the final edit. We can’t possibly recommend John and the Coastline team more!

As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have had the privilege of working with many talented wedding filmmakers, and the team at Coastline Studios stands out for their remarkable ability to transform wedding memories into cinematic stories that couples can relive for years to come. 10/10 Would Recommend!

Coastline Studios filmed our wedding on September 10, 2021 and I cannot praise this company enough!!! We had a team of 3 AMAZING videographers who I would recommend to ALL couples looking for this service. From the start of the day, I felt so connected to the crew and all throughout the day, they checked in to make sure they were getting ALL desired footage. It is RARE that guests reach out to the bride/groom to pass along positive feedback about the videography company and that is exactly what happened with us! SEVERAL guests contacted us to let us know we had an amazing team and they were ALL over the place ensuring the best footage. Not only were they all very professional, but by the end of the night they almost felt like friends! They were so personable and friendly, with the most infectious positive attitudes. It was the best experience I could have asked for! I cannot WAIT to receive our Cinematic film and relive our day over and over again. I just KNOW that Coastline will deliver a wonderful video based on their day-of effort and performance :)

Worth every penny

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Coastline film our wedding.

Not only did they deliver a final product that exceeded our expectations, but they were INCREDIBLY accommodating throughout the entire process. From the beginning, the Coastline team made us feel comfortable and confident that we didn’t have anything to worry about. Incredible Company

Seth and I got engaged in February of 2019 and it only took a month for me to commit to Coastline Studios as our videographer for our big day (June 12, 2020). While I did a considerable amount of research and reviewing other companies, it was evident that Coastline made the videography portion of the day a tailored experience for the bride and groom. They provided extremely organized questions which allowed for our videographers to get to know Seth and I better and as the big day neared it gave them a clear idea of what we were looking for in our highlight video. We wanted everything captured without feeling like we had paparazzi surrounding us (ha) – and they absolutely nailed it! When COVID-19 struck hard in Michigan we were forced to change every aspect about our day: location, party-size, etc. The lines of communication were outstanding! Coastline was willing to take it day-by-day to ensure the safety of everyone involved, but also understood the emphasis I had placed on having them capture our special day. I also lost my Nana a week prior to the wedding which was held in her backyard. When I informed them via email, they were so gracious and particularly kind the day of the wedding. Everything we requested emphasis on for our highlight video was included so beautifully. The song Found A Heart by Emily Hearn was used in our video and I had never heard it before, it is now one of my favorites! I feel like while editing they listened to every single word and knew just how fitting it was to display the love we share and the simplicity of our special day. I am beyond thankful we chose Coastline Studios to capture the best day of our lives, we will watch our highlight film (and raw footage) for years and years to come. Best Videographer Ever

My husband and I cannot speak highly enough about Coastline Studios and their incredible team. They pulled off everything we could have imagined and MORE with our wedding videos. We received a trailer and also did a large 12 minute video, and we are so grateful we did both! They were incredible professional, had outstanding quality, were fun to work with, and truly put us first the entire time! The process was extremely straight forward and easy, as well.

Picking Coastline Studios was one of the best decisions we made when it came to wedding planning! If you're even considering making a budgeting decision and potentially not having a videographer like we originally were....do what we did. Bite the bullet, invest in both a great videographer and photographer. You will NEVER regret it! These are the memories that will literally stay for a lifetime. Worth every single penny with zero regrets.

A phenomenal experience from start to finish

An extremely professional studio with organized billing, payment, and contract terms so you know exactly what to expect. They have phenomenal "how it's made" video content that explain all of the options you have. At the end of the day, Coastline offers amazing value to capture the fleeting moments at your wedding. While a photographer is great to see your favorite portraits, a videographer is so much more important as you get to enjoy your day which blew by in the snap of a finger.

We are thrilled and overwhelmed with the final product Coastline produced as well as with the talent and care that the staff on site put into the day of activities. Every time we watch our film it reminds us of how happy we were with our wedding day and how much fun our family and friends had. If you cut one thing out of your wedding, don't make it the videographer. There are other places to save and in retrospect you will realize the incredible power Coastline has to bring your day to life and memorialize it forever.

I can't say enough good about Coastline, they will create everything you imagine in your wedding film and more.

Great Videographers!

Coastline Studios shot our wedding film, and my wife and I could not have been more pleased! They catered to our needs and fulfilled exactly what we were looking for in video that captured our special day. They were great at blending in, most people don't even remember seeing them there! On top of that they were polite and efficient, and made the most of the time we spent together on that day. We would both highly recommend reaching out to them if you need someone to shoot your wedding video!

Wedding Videographer

Coastline was amazing to work with! We did a cinematic package and I am obsessed with the trailer and the video. At first we were hesitant due to the pricing but it was totally worth every penny in the end. The crew was so nice and kind to work with. They were so great and barely noticeable while capturing all of our special moments that day. I feel bad I did not thank them enough when they left. I think the cinematic coverage is definitely worth it so you can have a thorough coverage and film. My only regret is in retrospect I would have paid for an extra hour or two for them to stay until the very end of our reception.

Coastline did an amazing job with our wedding and they were a pleasure to work with through our entire process. The videographers blended right into the wedding party as if they were just a couple more guests at the wedding and the editors pulled together a perfect keepsake for us to remember our wedding day. Coastline is the best of the best. We are totally impressed by their big business look/small business feel. The quality of the video is more than we could have ever pictured (and we are VERY picky about videography). After seeing the video for the first time, we couldn't find anything to critique. Coastline tied our story into our wedding so flawlessly. We didn't even realize they were at our wedding (I was actually worried they weren't filming, but it turns out they captured every detail without anyone noticing!) Absolutely impressed. Don't hesitate to book with Coastline- you will not be disappointed.

It's hard to believe that our wedding was 3 month ago already. Oh, what a day it was. Crazy busy running around, making sure that everything is ready for our family's and our guests. With this kind of pace of a day it's very hard to stop to enjoy all the special moments that are happening around you and have the ability to truly appreciate them.

John and his team make sure that with all the noise and chaos that was happening on that day we will have all of those special moments captured and enjoyed for many years to come. Professionalism, attention to details, personalization, creativity, humor, ability to capture emotions and feelings are just a few skill sets you will get when you hire John and his amazing team. Although, we live in Chicago and didn't personally meet John till the wedding day. As soon as we introduced ourselves that morning, it felt like we knew him and the crew for a very long time. Each and every member of the team made us feel very comfortable, relaxed, and worry free. Priceless feelings, if you ask me.

We can't wait for our full wedding day video, however after watching our trailer (multiple times ;) we are sure it will be simply the best :)! Thank you Coastline Studios for all of your hard work. We are wishing you all a Happy New Year and many, many years of success! Cheers :)!

I have never seen professionalism and passion come together as well as it did with coastline studios. Coastline Studios blew us away at how amazing they were. My wife and I decided that we wanted videography/cinematography to be a high priority for our wedding and our expectations were pretty high going into it and Coastline exceeded them and more. John and his team were very professional and will work with you and will produce the movie and trailer that you are dreaming about. The trailer that they did for us was so magical and emotional that it brought both of our families to tears at how great it was at detailing the day. Words cannot explain the magic John and the Coastline Studios create for you. They are the most professional, most artistic and most creative group involved in creating a video diary of your special day. I am still getting phone calls, texts and emails about how touching our trailer was... and we don't even have the final video yet. I still am in disbelief in the moments that they captured. I cannot speak more highly of Coastline Studios and their entire team. They are friendly, professional, and best of all, they enjoy what they do. They make it known they want to capture what you want, not what they think should be captured, and they do a wonderful job making you feel at ease with the entire process. Kate helped with all the behind the scenes/business aspect and John met with me in person to get to know me and my husband so he knew us on a more personal level day of. Not only was this helpful for John and his team, but it put me more at ease knowing how genuine John was and knowing he really wanted to create something special for us.
I was hesitant to book a videographer because let's face it, it's expensive! I was married in mid June and thus far we have only received our trailer, and I have to admit just the trailer is worth the money. It made me laugh, cry, and gave me goosebumps...and it was under 4 minutes :) At this point I can't imagine what the longer version will be like, but to say the least..I am VERY excited for it!
My husband and I talked about whether the cost was worth the product, and ultimately decided that it's a day we'll only experience once and having it in video form would be a special memento. It's a way for us to look back on our magical day, and is something we will be able to share with our families now and in the future. Payments are due in segments which makes it easier to break up the cost. One payment is due when the contract is signed, another is due a month out from the event, and the final payment is due 4-6 months after.
Booking Coastline was one of the hardest decisions we made because of the cost, but was the BEST decision we made because of the memories they captured. Your big day will fly by, so take my advise and book them on your event! Let them capture the moments you will so quickly forget otherwise. It's truly something we will forever treasure.

Jon and everyone at Coastline are amazing people that provide excellent products!
We were very hesitant at first to book a videographer solely because of the cost. We didn't think the video justified the amount of money we would spend on the crew. HOWEVER, we recant our original thoughts ten fold.We could not be happier with the trailer we have already gotten and cannot wait to see the full length video in a couple months!
It was nice that the payments were broken up into three installments. The first payment is due when booking (completely understandable), the second payment is due a week or two before the wedding (like most of the other vendors) and the final payment is due 6 months after the wedding when you get the final video. It was nice to have the option to break it up in these installments so it is not just one lump sum.
The crew arrived at the church around 10:30am and started shooting right away. They stayed with us on the party bus and at the reception until about 8:30pm. They set up and took all the footage without us barely noticing them. We did the Cinema package which gave us the Jib...Our priest and guests actually made comments about flying saucers inside the church. But it was more of entertainment than a hassle. They were all a pleasure to be around! We would recommend them to everyone!

Coastline did the videography for my daughter and son-in-laws wedding, and they did a fantastic job. The teaser is amazing and can't wait to see the final production! They captured so many small details that you forget about! Their video will be enjoyed for years to come!

### On Budget

One of our priorities for our budget was on a top-quality videographer. We knew that would probably cost us but we didn't mind.

Easy to say until it becomes crunch time and all those bills are due, and oh yeah -- you have a wedding to attend.

Coastline removed that hassle right away by breaking the total up into 3 manageable chunks.

### On Day Of

Working with them leading up to the day, and during the day of our wedding was a joy. I definitely leaned on their calm demeanor when my nerves got the best of me.

Having somebody so composed around was fantastic.

### Quality

After reviewing their portfolio I knew that Coastline would do a fantastic job, but we didnt anticipate the impact our own video would have on us -- or perfect strangers.

After we received our preview video gobs of people we barely knew came up to us to tell us that they watched our preview video and started bawling!

### The Jib

This was so cool to have, we had a "gaggle" of ringbearers run down the isle. It was like the running of bulls but with babies. Without the jib it probably would have been impossible to capture.

### Summary

Many of my friends have gotten married in the past several years, and nobody has been as impressed with their videographers as we are with Coastline. I cannot recommend their work enough.

There isn’t one negative thing I can think about when it came to working with Coastline. From the first visit to the final product, these guys are the real deal! We couldn’t be any happier having chosen them to do our wedding video. Not only are they a joy to work with but their professionalism is astounding. Having a great videographer and photographer were at the top of both of our lists, therefore we both spent a lot of time researching and watching as many wedding videos as we could. From the first moment I witnessed a 2 minute Coastline trailer, I was sold! They were able to capture the important moments as well as the small details during our wedding day that we didn’t even know existed! They throw a cinematic twist to wedding videos that we didn’t even think could be possible and the fact that you’re able to have a “jib”…. it felt like we were on a Hollywood set! Throughout our wedding day, they’re organization and positive outlook made us feel not only comfortable and relaxed but it almost felt like they weren’t even there. Even the months leading up to our big day, they always stayed in contact. Many emails and phone conversations were had asking us questions, our opinions on specific details and a few questionnaires to be certain they gave us the best possible product! I would HIGHLY recommend these guys and you better act fast! These guys are becoming quite the hot commodity so book them before they are booked up! We lucked out! Thanks guys!

Coastline Studios was absolutely amazing! My husband and I hadn't originally planned to have a videographer at our wedding until we saw some samples from Coastline, and we are so glad we did. Coastline's entire team was professional while at the same time making you feel like they were old friends. There was not a single moment the whole day that I felt uncomfortable. I barely even noticed them or their equipment filming. They go out of their way to really get to know the bride and groom so that their wedding film is a complete reflection of that couple. We love our teaser trailer and can't wait for the full length film!!

Coastline studios did an absolutely awesome job. When I first got engaged I wasn't going to get a videographer but when I saw what an amazing job Coastline did I knew I needed them. They keep in touch with you periodically before the wedding to learn more about the couple so they can really tailor the video to you.

On the day of the wedding I never even noticed they were there plus they got along great with the other vendors we used. They were really quick to get our trailer together after the wedding which literally brought my family to tears. It was beautifully done. The wedding video soon followed and I watch it all the time. It was phenomenal. I can't say enough good things about Coastline and would highly recommend them.

I will admit that videography was not initially at the top of my list in importance when it came to our wedding day. Coastline's stunning work completely changed my mind! I could not be happier that we booked our wedding videography with them, as they captured our day in one of the most perfect ways possible. We were very impressed with the professionalism of their team and how seamlessly they worked together. John took extensive time with us prior to the wedding to ensure that our video would truly reflect our personalities and interests. Once I saw the wedding trailer, I could not believe how perfect it was for us. I would recommend watching their "behind the scenes" videos to get a better idea of how they work with you on your wedding day, as well as everything that goes into producing the final product. In all sincerity,we could not have been more elated to have had the staff at coastline be a part of our day. John was prompt to answer any and all questions we had leading up to the day which was so helpful during such a busy time in our lives. John, Jay & Brandon made the trip to the opposite side of the state to film our day. They all were unbelievably friendly,warm,and a pure delight to have with us that day. Coastline went above and beyond our expectations in making us feel entirely comfortable. We both agree, we found some sort of comfort and security in having the coastline staff there that day, as if we had a brand new group of friends who wanted to make our day as special as it could be.The moments we spoke with coastline individually brought a sense of calm and groundedness to a day that we both know could have been entirely overwhelming.Even with a crew of three and a lot of equipment, they were never in the way and yet somehow, their presence made the day go that much smoother. Planning a wedding on a budget, we had to manuever our funds (having a homemade cake and using minimal, in-season fresh flowers, and bargaining at thrift stores for decor) in order to afford coastline, but they were one of the best decision we made. In addition, they break up the overall cost of their time and talents into payments that are spread out, one coming even after the wedding- incredibly helpful when most venders must be paid in full prior to the day of.We cannot say enough about this company and how amazing they are to work with. We received our trailer today (beautifully edited by Rebecca), and couldn't be happier. While we are patiently awaiting our film, we are amazed at what she was able to fit into a 4 minute preview! I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with Coastline Studios on my wedding day. We have yet to see the film, however I know it will be most incredible.

John, the Owner was personally so hands on. He and his staff were incredible professionals. They were not intrusive at all, yet got the best shots. They were kind and respectful and made me feel so comfortable during an emotionally charged day.

I was a wedding disc jockey for 26 years and worked with many videography companies over the years. I can’t stress enough the importance of having a wedding video. I’ll start by explaining that it starts with a team of people documenting every single little detail and then weaving it into a masterpiece of emotion that you get to keep forever. In a few months we will get to sit down and relive the fairytale again…and again and again for the rest of our lives. I will also stress the blessing of being able to share the wedding with the loved ones that could not be there.

The Coastline team is unbelievably talented and truly dedicated to the pursuit of excellence. I’m on the video side of advertising and I knew I was going to be picky about our wedding video. I researched dozens of options and Coastline was hands-down the best in Michigan. These Guys are true artists behind the camera AND in the editing studio. Lots of videographers have great equipment and an eye for composition. Some videographers have fantastic style and technique. But then it boils down to a small select group of videographers like Coastline Studios who are a cut above the rest. At this level you find a team of artists that are able to sit down time and time again and tell a fresh wedding story with such elegance and emotion that it causes perfect strangers to tear up.

Everybody told me that the day was going to come and go in the blink of an eye and I was bound and determined to not let that happen. But it did. And though I took moments to step back and soak it all in, it was impossible to be in a million places at once. The great news is coastline captured it all. They captured the “I do’s” and the first kiss of course. But they also captured the breeze off the lake, twirls on the dance floor, the looks, the hugs, and the tears. How can you possibly fit so much love and excitement, not to mention 200 loved ones, into one single day? The answer is deep breathing, a good pair of flats, and most definitely Coastline Studios.

If you are looking for the best videographers to capture your wedding or event, Coastline Studios is for you. I will never forget the moment I watched the video they made for the first time, because I felt like I was watching a hollywood movie, but it was about me. It captured the feeling and emotions of all of the biggest moments in the most incredible ways. I'm sure lots of videographers can film your day and get the important moments on camera, but will they be able to capture the true essence and feel of those moments? My name is Jay Kadlec, newly married and loving it! Abigail and I were married July 20th and Coastline studios was there to film our wedding. Now, I may be a little biased, because I have actually done work for Coastline…but they were fantastic, covered every event, and made sure to only check in with me when needed. Abigail and I are crazy excited to get our hands on the footage! I know it will all be excellent :)

It was a little weird for me to be on the other side of the camera, because I’m so used to ‘staying out of the shot’, but I quickly got over it. I’m super curious to see Abigail’s bride prep and her reaction to the cameras. Once I was used to the lenses being aimed at me, I felt like a rockstar! And when everything started happening (the Ceremony and Reception), I honestly forgot they were even there! Filmaking ninjas would be an apt term for the Coastline Crew. The three moments I’m most excited to see are our first kiss (of course), our entrance to the Reception (rode in on a suped up golf cart), and our dance up on the ridge (with all of the countryside in the background)…

It was the best day of our life and both Abigail and I are super glad to have had Coastline there to film it! Now our friends and family (including the ones who couldn’t make it) can see it, and one day, even our children will be able to see their mom and dad getting hitched! - Thank you for everything Coastline!”

John Pottenger and his team at Coastline Studios were phenomenal!!! I was skeptical at first to have our wedding video recorded but, they made me feel very at ease. Now, we have this amazing, one of a kind wedding video to look upon whenever we want to relive our special day. The quality of the video was truly mesmerizing! They not only managed to capture our relationship perfectly but also managed to include every single person who attended our wedding in the video. This was definitely a feat as we had 315 guests. John at Coastline Studios and his team are AMAZING!! We felt so comfortable with every step of planning our big day with them. They really take their time in getting to know you and your vision for your wedding day. The questionnaires they have you fill out are really helpful and the good thing is they actually pay attention to what you wrote! We were so comfortable the day of the wedding, and didn't have to worry about them missing anything. Even though there were 3 cameras filming us all day, I didn't even notice them! They do such a great and tasteful job of being right in the action without taking anything away from the bride and groom.

John and his team were extremely professional, easy going, and even in our 104 degree hot July day did anything and everything to get the perfect shots. They are extremely dedicated and passionate about what they do, and it really shines through on their work. Having Coastline Studios capture our wedding day was one of the best investments of our entire wedding. If I could, I would have them follow me around everywhere and make my life look as glamorous and perfect as they did the day of our wedding. We love them, and definitely will be using them for future events!

WOW! I cannot thank John and his team enough for capturing and creating a wonderful wedding video for my husband and I. We were referred to Coastline Studios by our wedding planner and she deemed John and his team the "top videographer in Michigan." I was hesitant at first, worried that videography was just an unnecessary cost. After viewing John's work on his website, we were absolutely sold. His videos of other couple's weddings brought me to tears so I knew we had to hire his team for our special day! Let me just say, this was one of the BEST investments we made! He worked very closely with us prior to our wedding going over what we as a couple wanted included in our video. The day of our wedding his team was on time, extremely professional, and made us feel completely comfortable. We didn't even realize they were there during our ceremony and reception. Hiring Coastline Studios was the absolute best unexpected decision we made about our wedding. Until a few months before the big day, we wrote off the idea of videography all together. We didn’t think we could fit video into our budget, and we didn’t think anyone would watch it after the wedding anyway. But then I discovered Coastline and everything changed…

John’s friendly, caring personality and obvious passion for videography absolutely won me over. The sample films he showed me also swayed the decision -- His finished films are MAGICAL! We ended up booking his Cinematic package, which included a jib, long trailer, and longer finished film.

Having Coastline with us on our wedding day was wonderful. A few things you should to know about what it’s like:
• The entire Coastline crew is FUN. These guys totally fit in with our family and friends and were friendly without being intrusive.
• The amount of equipment Coastline utilizes is ASTOUNDING. Yes, their services can seem pricey, but you should see the lighting, microphones, cameras, tripods, and other crazy stuff they bring to make your video look like a serious Hollywood movie. Your budget videographers definitely will not offer all this.
• ALL of the crew are PROFESSIONALS. The whole team discusses lighting, color balance, the best angles, and where to hide so you can’t see them (which I only know because John told me afterward, not because I noticed it on the day of). They also dress very professionally, including wearing khaki pants and black logoed polos on our 90+ degree July day (yikes!).
• They are COMMITTED. Mother Nature made our wedding day a little crazy. Coastline was flexible and kept rolling through it all to ensure our film reflected our whole day.

As for the finished product, I am almost speechless. Our trailer and wedding film are authentic, beautiful, emotional, and unlike anything I’ve ever seen. The colors are vibrant. The music is perfect. Our families and friends absolutely loved watching it and have asked to watch multiple times.

To sum it up, here are a few words from the email I sent John after it all: “I feel as though you read my mind as to what I hoped to share about the day… I know our wedding and its videography presented some unusual challenges, but you all seized them and were not at all put off by the extra effort required to present our story. You are each truly special and we appreciate your obvious dedication to your craft.”\

Ladies and Gentlemen…meet John Pottenger from Coastline Studios, out of Grand Rapids, MI. Simply the best videographer…period!!!! If you are looking for a videographer for your upcoming wedding, this is the guy to hire. If you’re already married, and have no need for such services…stay with me and keep reading, the story gets better.

John Pottenger and Coastline Studios is not your typical video guy with the tripod and the shaky camera. This is first class, true Cinematic movies of your wedding day. I’m talking Steven Spielberg or James Cameron type of quality….that good! We know this personally …because he did our wedding back in September of 2009. If you still do not believe me, go to his website, www.coastline-studios.com and click on his VIMEO link, and you will see exactly what I mean. Better yet, I suggest you “LIKE” them on Facebook and you’ll see some even cooler stuff, plus you will be kept in the loop with all his new video releases. You might even see our video or trailer in there :-)

If you can think of it, John is probably already doing it. Your wedding movie will have a sneak peak teaser that will be sent to you within weeks after your wedding. It will be followed by a movie trailer, which will really get you excited for your upcoming wedding video and movie.

He also does save the date videos, engagement videos and even has a package where he can rent out a movie theater with Popcorn to show your debut wedding movie to your friends and family. Pretty cool…huh?

So what if you’re already married…what good is coastline studios to you? Great question…his services do not end there. He has new packages where he films family events. If you’re going Vegas and would like to create your own personal “HANGOVER” movie moment, or create your own personal Kardashian like reality TV …I’m sure he can arrange it….LOL! For corporate events….he’s the guy! Bottom line….you need to talk to John and Coastline Studios first before making any decisions. He’s extremely professional and a very nice person! He will take the time to get to know you…which is extremely important.

He has all the best equipment, from the big Jib, to the train tracks, and everything in between…everything is Top Notch and professional looking! And they will travel just about anywhere…he’s doing a wedding in Brazil next year.

Okay…I know what you’re thinking; he’s got to be super expensive. To be honest, when you see the quality of work and what is entailed, it is quite reasonable. However, I’m warning you, once you see his work, there is no going back. That's what happened to us :-)

Oh…and one more thing, if you do decide to watch some of his trailers and videos, you might want to have some tissue by your side…most of them will make you shed a tear or two, or three….you get my point.

John does offer the standard, Non-Cinematic Tri-Pod service (As I call it). If you’re going hire anyone, it might as well be the best guy and his team!

Bottom line...this is your Wedding Day, a day you will never forget for the rest of your life. We watch and share our wedding movie video all the time with our friends and family. It was the best decision we ever made. I highly recommend the Cinematic Package....you will not regret it!

My wife and I just received our wedding video from Coastline Studios in the mail. We had already spent many hours reviewing our wonderful picture proofs (by Darrin Wassom), so we weren't sure what more the video could offer. The video began with several scenic shots of various decorations while catching glimpses of guests arriving. As the church filled up, the camera was able to catch most of our friends and family as they anticipated the big event. Upon seeing just this portion, I turned to my wife and exclaimed, "Getting a videographer was totally worth it!" The rest of the ceremony was absolutely gorgeous and the video allowed us the opportunity to relive it--but this time without the nerves!

We were very cautious to hire a videographer because of our limited budget and certain logistical concerns. I decided to contact John Pottenger to discuss our options. He was very friendly and accommodating to us and our situation. When it came time for the wedding, the video crew arrived promptly, did not disturb anyone (not even the photographer), and was supremely professional. In the end, our video arrived on time and we look forward to watching it again with friends and family.

Ladies, Gents,

Let me be perfectly honest with you. Video was something we added in the final hours of our planning. We had originally planned on doubling down on our photographer and nixing the video. That was, until we saw some of Coastline's work. Jaw-droppingly good. We worked with John Pottenger, who cold not have been any more patient, accommodating, or just a pleasure to be around. He and his team showed up like ninjas on our wedding day and we didn't even notice they were there. Once or twice, my husband caught them peering out from behind a tree to catch him chatting with his boys. Insane.

I could keep writing this review all night, but I'll stop here and simply say: For a top-notch, cinematic (not cheesy) quality, high-def, beautiful shot, edited, and directed feature film of your special day, Coastline Studios would get our business again and again. I'm currently thinking of throwing a big party later this year, just so I can hire John and the gang to come on out and film us again! :)

We were told by many people that their only regret from their wedding day was not having captured it on video. Once we decided to make the investment, we sought a story-teller who would not only be able to capture the moments between the still photos, but someone who could truly let us re-live our special day for years to come. Thankfully for us, the incomparable John Pottenger, at Coastline Studios, was able to join us and share in the celebration. John is quite the talent and did an outstanding job! We couldn’t be happier.

John did an AMAZING job on my pictures. I thought mine were awesome, but if you check out coastlinestudios.com you can see all the other work that they do. He was very flexible considering we did a very different kind of wedding and he was more than happy to be accommodating.

John and Holly did an absolutely wonderful job! They captured everything, and did it beautifully! They were so easy to work with, and offered wonderful suggestions. We are recommending them to all of our friends who are getting married!

My husband and I had an outstanding experience working with John Pottenger of Coastline Studios. As we considered the vision/details for our wedding, John was prompt in responding to our questions and was extremely flexible. His work is professional, creative, and most importantly, it captures the precious candid moments that most couples can only hope for. There were several photos that were taken without us even knowing it, and these are some of our favorites because they exude the joy of our wedding day in such a natural way. John and his assistant, Ryan, had an excellent way of making everyone feel at ease during our photo sessions. We honestly could not have chosen a better photographer. The friends and family who have viewed our wedding photos have responded with rave reviews--so many of them have told us our pictures look like they belong in a bridal magazine. In all, John's work truly speaks for itself, once you view it, nothing else compares.

I was not particularly happy with my mandatory to the venue photog and boy am I grateful for Coastline! My "movie" really does look like a movie. So professional so thoughtful...I could not be happier.

The Coastline Studios team is amazing and they made our wedding day so special. They have exceptional attention to detail and captured all of our special moments during our wedding day. They also did it in a way in which it almost seemed like they weren't there or a distraction. When we got our wedding trailer (3 minute video) two weeks after our wedding it literally brought me to tears and people who we don't even know told us how amazing it was. I am so thankful for the Coastline Studios team and would highly recommend them as your wedding videographer.

I knew after meeting John that he had the journalistic style that we wanted for our wedding pictures. Ultimately, my husband and I were thrilled with John and his work. He did an amazing job at capturing who Josh and I are as a couple without being obtrusive. He helped create a natural and comfortable environment, which made it easy for us to enjoy the day and not focus on posing (especially my husband who doesn�t like pictures). Everything felt so natural and the pictures turned out absolutely amazing to say the least. People are still talking about them and how they should be in bridal and golf magazines. We can hardly wait to see our video!

Coastline Studios was an excellent choice for our photographer. John was very flexible and professional. He was always prompt to answer our questions and he even dealt with my stressed out mom expertly (which was impressive). Whenever I wanted him to take a picture at the reception, he was always within ear shot and ready to do what I asked. The pictures turned out amazing and I have had MANY compliments on them. He was dedicated to helping us pick the pictures for our wedding album as well by sitting with us for 4 hours in his studio going through every single photo. I would definetly recommend Coastline!

They define what's professionalism in the wedding video industry. They captured the beautiful moments of our wedding day like silent phantoms. I kept thinking, "Are they getting all this?" and the definitely did without interferring or getting in the way of the events. It was crazy to see our wedding trailer.

As a bride without a wedding coordinator, I had a lot on my plate. I was juggling the planning of the event space, the photographer, the florist, the bakery... a videographer hadn't even crossed my mind! However, after seeing Coastline's videos on their website, I knew this was something I not only wanted, but needed. Their films are not just point-and-shoot boring documentaries. They're beautifully shot, creative in story and music, and something I would want to share with my kids and grandkids down the road.

I never met the team before the wedding day (I currently live in LA) but on the day of, when it was pouring down rain, John and his team made me feel comfortable and stress-free. I even entrusted them to bring the rings to the ceremony site because I knew they would take great care of them.

We haven't seen the final product yet (takes 4-6 months) but we know it'll be amazing. It is a bit pricey but the payment plan helped us and honestly, when all is said and done and you're watching the video on your 50th wedding anniversary, are you really going to remember what the price tag was? I'm so happy and grateful they were part of our special day and I would recommend their services to anyone - the work just speaks for itself.

Coastline Studios is an excellent photography company to go with. You won' be disappointed with the pictures after the wedding. I had one of the associate shooters shoot my wedding. The pictures turned out amazing but now I am wondering what they would have looked like if the head photographer shot them. I would highly recommend them though.

We were very please with our final photography product. John was very easy to work with and gave us the most beautiful pictures we could ask for. We still receive comments from friends and family about how our pictures look as though they belong in a magazine. We were most pleased with the fact that we did not have to constantly pose for pictures all day long. We hardly noticed John being there for moments of our day, but he still managed to capture everything. We would definitely use John again if the budget allows.

John was great the day of our wedding. The video and photography was journalistic and turned out great. It did take longer than we wanted to received our DVD for the video, but our photos came fairly quickly. Overall I would recommend him.
