First off I knew I had to have Mike Cooley at my wedding 3 years ago when I saw him host/DJ at a good friend of mine wedding. He was very professional, communicated well and everything was smooth. He gave advice and suggestions that only someone who is experienced and cares about their craft would give and it all worked. It was like we knew him for years. Everyone talks about our wedding and how much fun they had they went home lit! Then I found out he plans events I should have booked him sooner. Some things you don’t skimp on when planning a wedding, in my opinion a Host/DJ is one of those things. Mike Cooley is exceptional. -
User3016331 Sent on 03/28/2017Where do I start... First, We can't thank DJ Mike Cooley enough for planning and hosting our special day. From day one, he has been nothing but nice to us. He's very courteous, patient, and assertive. Pretty much an all around professional. He is On-point with his suggestion and creative ideas- that help us save on cost. Mr. Cooley was always available when we needed him, and patient. I must of change my mind about my wedding theme, and layout like three times ( don't quote me)..loI. Yet, he was willing to make my ideas work in anyway he could. Second, we're more than satisfied of the outcome. Our guests had a blast they can't stop talking about the day. Omg... my friends and family constantly calls to compliment us on how our wedding ceremony and reception hall was immaculately decorated. Everyone was on the dance floor including the DJ himself; dancing and singing along..I mean so much FUN!!!. I must say the previous review had me a little hesitant about booking with him. until I spoke with another bride who shared some videos and pictures of her event that DJ Mike had done, and I was sold from there. I'm so happy that I went with my instincts. Overall, I appreciate his work ethics and I'm truly grateful for all that he has done for us. Ladies, trust me DJ Mike Cooley is worth every cent. He did my sister wedding three years ago and I knew I wanted him for my wedding. Thank you Mike for all that you do. I read all previous review there will always be HATERS!!!!!!!!!. Mike keep doing what you do, God gave you this gift for a reason. -

User2070614 Sent on 03/18/2015Mike Cooley is a nice guy but he is not professional . He doesn't return messages nor phone calls. He and his team will have you waiting days if not weeks to hear a response ! If you hire him make sure you STAY on top of him! -

Terrible Service! Do not book!
DO NOT BOOK!!!! Booking DJ Mike Cooley aka Cedric Felix AKA CJ Party Rental and Event Planning was the worst mistake I made while planning my wedding. I booked him for DJ, hosting, 360 video, cold sparklers and cloud services and he did not deliver quality services. I’ve never been more disappointed with services from someone. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I’ve ever received. I’ve called him multiple times, e-mail and message him with no response. He ignored my message after saving my number while answering other people’s message. This is all after I’ve paid my entire balance. I literally didn’t think he would show up for my wedding day. He made us fill out a questionnaire for what we wanted at the reception and he did not follow it. He did what he wanted. Told me he would have 2 assistants with him but had one person doing the 360 videos that he trained on the spot. The 360 videos were horrible. He promised to send me the template for 360 videos for approval I never received it. It’s been a month since my wedding and he never responded to my request for a refund for the 360 video that was trash. Do not do business with him. He will be the most stressful part of your event planning. The other negative reviews are fair warning to take your business elsewhere. I wished I googled him before booking. Don’t make the mistake I made. He never even reached out to apologize. Terrible business. The only regret I have from my wedding. DO NOT BOOK!!!! Honestly if i could give negative stars i would! We hired DJ Mike Cooley because he was referred to us by another bride and unfortunately for us we did not check his reviews. He was absolutely terrible! We hired him because we needed a dj that was fluent in Nigerian music, which he claimed that he was. He actually told us that he would take us back to Nigeria, when in reality we never left the airport! He barely played any Nigerian songs at the wedding and the little he did play i had to go up and request them! Let’s start from the beginning. From the ceremony there were issues. He was supposed to provide microphones for the ceremony, he did not. He played the wrong song for my bridal party entrance even though the correct song was listed on his questionnaire that he had us complete prior to the wedding. On the questionnaire i also gave him a list of songs to be played for cocktail hour that matched the Nigerian theme of our wedding. He played none of those and instead played generic wedding songs you hear at every other wedding. He also left his DJ booth during cocktail hour so that he could go and change, which would have been ok had he not left the music so loud that no one could even hear themselves think! My brother had to go behind his booth and turn the music down. For our bridal party entrance into the reception, he pronounced almost every person’s name incorrectly including me and my husband! We provided the dj with all of the names of our bridal party well in advance and he NEVER ONCE said he had issues with the pronunciation of the names. If he had, we would have had no issue providing him with phonetics so that they could have been announced properly! From there the issues continued. The dj was provided with a timeline for our reception from the day of event coordinator in advance. The timeline was approved by myself and my husband. The dj BLATANTLY refused to follow the timeline creating unnecessary chaos. We were supposed to play the wedding shoe game later on in the reception. He took it upon himself to have us play the game after the first dance when dinner was supposed to be served. This led to confusion with the caterer and a lot of my guests food being cold because of the delay in service caused by the dj! During the reception we had a video of our elopement that was supposed to be played prior to the party starting. The dj once again not following the timeline, started the party playing music we instructed him specifically not to play like Back that A** up and City Girls songs. The vulgar music caused a lot of my guests to leave, and they missed the elopement video. We also had a second entrance at my wedding where we re-entered the reception in traditional attire. We had a song for that 2nd entrance which was given to him via his questionnaire. He played the wrong song for that as well. My husband had to find the song on YouTube and one of my family members had to give him the correct song. Lastly, he added a last dance which neither me nor my husband asked for and he used a song which i would have never picked. Neither my photographer or videographer were aware of this plan and almost missed being able to capture this moment since they were setting up for the next thing on the timeline. We let the Dj know our concerns after the wedding and he completely refuses to acknowledge that he did anything wrong! Honestly the worst vendor that we hired! If you want a dj that respects your wishes DO NOT Hire this dj! -
User2260274 Sent on 08/07/2015This is the worst company to plan your wedding. Very unorganized...make alot of plans, gives you alot of wishes and doesn't come through at even 50%. He is a fraud....he wants to plan these huge events but can't handle anything that is more than 50 ppl. He doesn't play the requested music, his limo drivers are late, cocktail hr turns into cocktail 2 or 3 hrs because he hasn't fully set up yet and the list goes on. He and his comoany sucks big time!!! -

Ashleigh Sent on 12/25/2015HANDS DOWN THE ABSOLUTE WORSE; I really wish I would have trusted the reviews. Our wedding was an hour late, why? Because this GARBAGE DJ DIDN’T SHOW UP! Before our ceremony, we had issues, he sucks with communication; doesn't return messages or phone calls. He does expect full payment upfront, that’s the only time he communicates. We wanted to drop him in the beginning, but the best man assured us that he would be awesome. So we trusted him, the biggest mistake in my life! Months in advance we emailed him the change of venue, sequence of events, theme, do not playlist, and songs we wanted to be played. He ignored EVERYTHING! The day of everyone is waiting for him, and he calls at 4:30 (our wedding was supposed to begin at 4:30) asking where we were, and to top it off he asked if he was supposed to be doing the ceremony. Not only had we already asked him to play the music for the ceremony we paid him an additional $100; for him to ask us if he was even supposed to be doing the ceremony made us livid! Last minute our event planner downloaded the songs on her iPad. Fast forward to the reception, we wanted 90s music to be played and particular games; as previously stated we sent him everything. This jerk completely ignored us. He played several songs on our do not play list, none of the songs on our playlist, and he ran things the way he wanted them completely disregarding the games we wanted, and my husband had to remind him that it was 90’s music. I was beyond furious. After all of the crap he put us through, you would think he would be a little apologetic right? Nope, my husband called to asked what happened and to ask for our money back, and all he does is give us a thousand excuses, it was the weather, I didn’t get the information…blah blah blah. Not once did he open his mouth to say “I’m sorry”. What a total piece of crap! PLEASE DO NOT BOOK THIS GUY, HE’S HORRIBLE.
