Beautiful and delicious!
Attentive to detail. Our cake was delicious and more perfect tha. We imagined. Everything was delicious and they made the display look so nice. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Chi kadee will be our go to bakery feom now on. -

We had an incredible experience with Chickadee Hill Cakes for our wedding cake—everything about it exceeded expectations.
From the very beginning, the process felt personal and thoughtful. Our cake tasting was such a great experience—they allowed us to sample every flavor they offered, which made it both fun and easy to find exactly what we wanted. As someone with a nut allergy, this meant a lot to me, and I really appreciated that none of the cakes contained nuts, so we could enjoy everything worry-free.
Our cake was three tiers, and each flavor was a hit. The top and bottom tiers were banana cake with a chocolate ganache, and it was absolutely dynamite. Every bite was rich, moist, and left you wanting more. The middle tier was a carrot cake with a cinnamon cheesecake buttercream, and it was unreal—it actually ran out so fast that I only got one slice!
There wasn’t a single piece left by the end of the night, which says everything. So many of our guests told us it was some of the best cake they’ve ever had.
If you’re looking for a bakery that delivers both incredible flavor and a memorable experience, we highly recommend Chickadee Hill Cakes.

Our cake was included through our venue, Birchwood Vineyards, and we were given the choice between Chickadee and another bakery. Chickadee was the clear choice from the start — and they exceeded every expectation we had (even the expectations I didn’t realize I could have).
To be completely honest… cake was the very last thing on my wedding priority list. I’ve never liked cake — my entire life — and I walked into our tasting fully prepared to let my fiancé handle the decisions because she’s the one with the sweet tooth. But from the second we walked in, Chickadee changed that for me.
The tasting itself felt like a sweet little date night: private, warm, fun, and surprisingly plentiful. I couldn’t believe how many flavors we got to try or how genuinely delicious everything was. I actually fell in love with their tri-color cheesecake (it was incredible!), and even though we ultimately didn’t choose it because of the upcharge and how niche cheesecake can be for guests, it was worth every penny they asked for. We ended up selecting carrot cake and tiramisu for our tiers, but truthfully, picking anything was hard because everything — even the “simple” flavors like cookies & cream and strawberries & cream — had so much depth and richness. For someone who doesn’t “like cake,” I found myself enjoying every bite in total disbelief.
The design process was just as seamless. Our venue has naturally beautiful, minimalist décor, so we chose a classic white frosting with a gold drip on each tier, with florals coordinated to our wedding colors. We added our own gold wire silhouette topper from an Etsy shop in the UK, and when it all came together… it was breathtaking. Multiple guests commented that they thought it wasn’t even a real cake because it looked so flawless and artistic. It was elegant, clean, romantic — everything we wanted and more.
The flavors on the wedding day were absolutely spot-on, and guests raved about how fantastic the cake was. Chickadee’s communication throughout the whole process was excellent, and on the wedding day their delivery was so smooth and punctual that we never even saw them arrive or leave — they were stealthy pros in the best way.
As an FYI (not a con at all, just helpful info): we have several celiacs in the family, and Chickadee did offer gluten-free cupcakes in basic flavors, sold by the dozen. We ultimately chose to bring a separate small gluten-free cake so our family members could have a “true cake” experience — but we appreciated that Chickadee offered an accessible alternative.
If I ever need a cake for another special event, I wouldn’t even think twice — Chickadee Hill Cakes will always be my first choice. They’re talented, thoughtful, easy to work with, and genuinely exceptional at what they do.

The O’Connells Wedding Cake
My husband and I are pretty picky people but we picked right when we went with Chickadee Hill Cakes, we have never had desert so good in our life! Our wedding was a day to remember but also our cake is one we will never forget either! From start to finish the team made the process seamless, they were attentive to every detail which left us feeling confident from the very beginning.We got so many compliments on our wedding cake, from how gorgeous it looked to how tasty it was. The proof was truthfully in the pudding, the team's efforts and talents are shown in their cakes. The flowers and decoration on the cake were to die for and really elevated the room when peaking at it. It was such a hard decision on flavors since every single one grasped your tastebuds but we chose the Cookies and Cream and Berries and Cream flavors. The flavors are astonishing when you taste them but also you melt with love at the texture and softness of their cake/frosting. Chickadee Hill Cakes was a huge part of why our day was so special and I will be recommending them for any and all events! -

We cannot recommend Shara and her amazing team enough! From the very beginning, working with them was an absolute dream. Their communication was flawless, they were incredibly attentive, and they guided us through every step of the process with care and professionalism. Shara, Melissa, and the whole team made us feel so confident and excited about our cake, and their talent truly shines in every detail.
The cake itself was breathtaking, truly the star of the night when it came to décor and presentation. We chose Lemon Blueberry Buttercream and Cookies and Cream, and both flavors were phenomenal, every bite was incredible! Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious it was. The cake looked exactly as we envisioned, with the most stunning florals adorning it and the cake topper perfectly in place, making it absolutely picture-perfect on the dessert table. It was elegant, beautiful, and unforgettable, a true highlight of our celebration.
We are so grateful to Shara and her team for bringing our vision to life with such artistry and care. Their attention to detail, professionalism, and warmth made the entire experience seamless and joyful. We can’t wait to eat the top frozen layer we saved for our anniversary; it’s such a special way to relive a little piece of our perfect day.

We chose Chickadee right away after tasting their samples. Every option was so delicious we finished off everything! It was hard to choose but went with the white cake with berry cream filling (the winner for sure!) for the main tiers and the tiramisu filling for the middle tier. The staff was very efficient and accommodating. Just weeks before the wedding we needed to order a gluten free option in addition and they easily accommodated with delicious cupcakes with several options for the filling. Our GF guests, and some of us not GF, found them to be very delicious. We highly recommend Chickadee Hill Cakes for your event! -

A month later... We are CRAVING our wedding cake. It was SO delicious. We saved the top tier of the cake in our freezer for our anniversary, but it may not make it that long :)
Our first experience with Chickadee Hill Cakes was a tasting at their location which included an assortment of different flavors / options to choose from. As we had a fall wedding, there were seasonal options and we decided to go with a multi layered themed cake (pumpkin w/ caramel chai and lemon/blueberry on different layers). We worked with Kelly & she was able to masterfully design our cake while we were enjoying the 'flight' of wedding cakes.
Chickadee Hill Cakes worked with our florist to understand our theme and matched our arrangements on the wedding cake (they provide their own flowers for cake decor).
Ultimately, our wedding cake matched the drafted design perfectly. Even our videographer commented on how he's tried hundreds of wedding cakes, but this was one of the best. -

We got our wedding cake from Chickadee Hill for our August 2024 wedding at Birch Wood Vineyards! We ordered the berries & cream and spice cake with apple filling for our tiered cakes and both flavors were delicious. We shared some inspiration photos and our florist’s proposal with Chickadee and they created such a stunning cake that perfectly matched our wedding florals. We had tried this cake at two weddings before we booked for our own wedding, so we knew that the cake they provided would be delicious, however the experience with them far exceeded expectations! We absolutely loved Chickadee Hill Cakes! They were so easy to work with and helped use through the process of picking our style. Our venue included their delicious cake in our package, which really made it all the more sweeter! We didn't have to think twice, and just knew we would be working with quality vendors from the start! Our tasting was so much fun and we ended up picking lemon blueberry cake, carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate cake with cookies and cream frosting. It was SO GOOD. I can't wait until our one year anniversary to dip back into that lemon blueberry! We didn't have to think or worry twice about the cake getting to our venue, and they seamlessly worked with our florist to add fresh flowers onto our 4-tiered cake. It worked out perfectly and guests said that the cakes were delicious no matter what flavor they chose. It was a great affordable way to cater to lots of different tastes. And they all looked great too! It's a shame we decided to save our top tier for our 1st anniversary, it's going to be very tempting to break into it early! -

Beauty and Deliciousness!!!!
Chicadee Hill made my dream wedding come to life! My (now) husband is a pilot and we did an aviation themed cake. I was super specific about how I wanted it to look and Shar and her team made it 100% to my expectation. Additionally, it was unfreaking believably delicious!!!! I did not sacrifice deliciousness for the look or the look for deliciousness! Shar was extremely communicative and responded to all of my emails right away, allowing me to have answers to questions quickly. She is great and her cakes are even greater!!!! We got our wedding cake through Chickadee Hill Cakes and all I can say is wow!! It was absolutely delicious - all of our guests said it was the best cake they ever had. We opted for their signature cheesecake and it was incredible. It was so good! The flavors were delicious and it was a beautiful smooth texture. The outside was just as perfect as the inside! Chickadee Hill Cakes was amazing from tasting to the wedding day. At the tasting we tried so many yummy flavors (you really can’t go wrong with whatever you pick!) and felt safe as our tasting was during the pandemic. My husband and I had no idea what we wanted the outside to look like and they were happy to show us different options and answer all our questions. Their amazing customer service combined with their exquisite cakes is not something you want to miss out on! -

Delicious and Gorgeous!
DELICIOUS. There’s not much else to say! If you need a cake, book them! We’re sure anything else they bake and make is just as delicious but for our wedding cake - they did a fantastic job. Our wedding date was December 5, 2020 so the planning of our cake was scheduled for the Spring/Summer … during a pandemic … and “quarantine shutdown.” We were able to pick up a taste-test box at the bakery and bring it home for a safe trial experience. With nine pieces of wedding cake - we celebrated cake decision day with an at-home taste test. The rest of our planning - details, requests, and overall communication was done completely through email. Super attentive, and easy to articulate our ideas through pictures - we had a sketch and vision presented to us that we knew was going to be perfect for the final product!
We requested a semi-naked wedding cake with our floral cake flowers for our December wedding and they delivered on the rustic winter feel! The cake was beautiful, but the taste was divine! We went with a pumpkin space with chai caramel; and spice cake with macintosh apple - both were phenomenal.
We are typically traditional people, but one tradition we couldn’t stand by was saving the top tier of our cake for our year anniversary - mostly because it was just too good to let sit in our freezer for one year. So on our week anniversary, we pulled the top tier out of the fridge, put our cake topper back on, poured some bubbly and enjoyed one week of marriage! We’ll just have to put in a request for fresh cake for our year anniversary!

She gave me all the spooky fall vibes I could have wanted and added extra little details I'm obsessed with. Plus, if you're looking for fun flavors, look no further! I would give more than 5 stars if I could! When we postponed, we asked Shara to create the top tier we selected to celebrate our original date. They made it look exactly like the top tier we asked for (ribbon, pattern, flavors), even going above and beyond to add flowers. It truly made our original date so special. On top of that, our family cannot stop raving about how our wedding cake is going to be the best cake our guests have ever had. Highly recommend! -

Incredible Experience!

Could eat their cakes every day!
Chickadee made my wedding cake back in 2011 and it was amazing! We have used them every year since to recreate our top tier and it’s just as amazing as on our wedding day. Best cake ever!
We absolutely loved everything about our wedding cake! We spent time going over every detail at our tasting and discussed multiple flavors so that my husband could have his favorite and I could have mine and we had a flavor we both wanted to have. All of the flavors were amazing and the cake itself was gorgeous! I was able to drop off decorations for the cake in the form of wood flowers to bring it back together with my bouquet and it came out stunning! There aren't enough nice things that I could say about Chickadee Hill. I'm so glad my mother went to a wedding where they also made the cake, if she hadn't we wouldn't have come across them and that would have been a disservice to everyone in attendance. -

Chickadee Hill Cakes were amazing to work with for our wedding! From our first meeting with Shara where she took the time to draw out our vision for our cutting cake to our wedding day they were very professional. None of the other cake vendors we met with were as attentive and thorough. We had a cutting cake for us and cupcakes for our guests. Everyone loved the cupcakes! Personalized and Perfect!
Chickadeehill was so enjoyable and easy to work with! They are able to give you completely personalized attention in the planning process. We enjoyed our private tasting and appreciated being able to bring samples home to our family. We did a fairly non-traditional approach to cake (cupcakes as our centerpieces) and not only were the cupcakes beautiful and tasty, but the Chickadeehill team delivered and set up the cupcakes perfectly! Winter Wedding Cake
Absolutely Loved our cake design and taste! Every detail we wanted was captured perfectly and the cake itself was delicious!! Geode wedding cake
The cake was amazing, I ordered pumpkin and banana as two layers with whip cream frosting. The cake itself was very moist and the icing was perfect, not too sweet or thick and definitely not fondant. Chickadee Cakes was able to accommodate my weird request of putting game of thrones figurines at the top, they are oddly shaped and needed a wider top tier. Definitely recommend them! My mom has even asked if I would order her birthday cake from them, same as my wedding cake, it was that good! -

Easy, Reliable, and Delicious!
Chickadee was super easy to work with from start to finish. The vision for our cake turned out perfect, exactly how we imagined. We ended up with a larger cake than needed for number of guests, so were expecting a lot of leftovers, but our guests LOVED the cake! We sadly had none left (except the top we kept) and got compliments all night on how beautiful it was and SO delicious! Highly recommend! -

They went out of their way to accommodate my husband and I for a last minute tasting and absolutely blew us away with a beautiful cake on our wedding day. Not only was the cake beautiful, but all the flavors were absolutely delicious. They brought my vision to life perfectly and I couldn’t have been more happy. -

We absolutely loved working with Chickadee Hill! Our tasting was a complete blast and absolutely delicious. I told them what I envisioned and they instantly drew up a cake that was exactly what I wanted. I did not have to worry about any details the week of the wedding as they communicated with my venue and took care of everything! It really was such a pleasure working with them. -

My wedding cake was the most beautiful wedding cake I have EVER SEEN!!!! I never thought that the cake would be one of my favorite parts of my wedding....but Chickadee Hill Cakes made it happen! It was completely amazing to me that I had an idea of what I wanted in my head and Chickadee Hill brought it to life and then some!!! Delicious Cakes and Cupcakes!
Chickadee Hill Cakes made the cupcakes and cutting cake for our wedding. They had a huge gallery of images that was helpful in selecting the design style that we wanted for our cake. We worked with Shara, and she was fantastic! She listened to our ideas when we were describing what we wanted, and she helped to fill in the details. She provided a rough sketch so that we would have an idea of what it would look like as well as descriptive details. We did three different flavors of cupcakes and they were all gone by the end of the wedding, and everyone commented on how delicious they were! We loved them so much we are planning on buying each again to celebrate our anniversary. I would highly recommend going with Chickadee Hill Cakes for your wedding, you won't regret it! -

Perfect vision
They really got our vision down and went our of their way to find apple cider donuts to put on our cake. It was also so delicious (applespice cake) and our guests kept saying it was one of the most delicious wedding cakes they’ve ever had. 10/10 -

So impressed with the cake we got! Not only did it look beautiful, but it was delicious! We went with chocolate & a chocolate ganache filling, lemon & blueberry, and vanilla with a berry filling. Absolutely to die for & we heard nothing but great feedback from our friends/ family!!

We bragged more about how good our wedding cake was going to be than anything else. As Shara said it, Chickadee Hill has "buttercream for adults." Chickadee Hill had the best (and most unique) cake flavor combinations, plus this buttercream that was light and airy (unlike the "birthday cake"-type frosting you get from the mainstream bakeries). The cake was INCREDIBLE. So delicious, and on top of that, you get a truly customized design rather than a picture out of a pre-fabbed book! We had an odd color scheme for cakes (white, dark green, and metallic gold), which is difficult to incorporate when there are only certain flowers that you can put on a cake (and there aren't really many green/gold flowers) and the buttercream is already white. But she put tons of thought into it to help us come up with the perfect design. The cake was beautiful, affordable, and most of all DELICIOUS! Highly recommend Chickadee Hill over all others (and we went to 6 bakeries!). Just check out their instagram if you don't believe me... -

We used Chickadee Hill Cakes for our wedding on 8/24/2019. We decided to go with cupcakes as the main display, with a small cake topper on top for us to cut. Shara was amazing to work with and offered so many suggestions for how we could decorate our display, since we didn't have many ideas on how we wanted it to look. During our tasting, she took notes on our wedding style and colors and created a display that fit in perfectly with the look we were going for. The cupcakes and cake were amazing - we still have people telling us how delicious they were!
Shara was extremely responsive and helped me with a surprise Mario cake topper for my husband, which he absolutely loved! I would highly recommend Chickadee Hill Cakes and we are so happy we had the opportunity to work with them for our big day. -

Chickadee hill did a great job with our wedding cake, not only was it delicious (all of their cakes were so it was hard to pick!) but it was beautiful. They worked with our florist so that the flowers that were used in the center pieces matched the cake and really brought everything together for us. At the end of the night there was none left! -

We recently used Chickadee Hill Cakes for our wedding cake as they were a preferred vendor at our venue. When we went to the tasting we were greeted with 10 different flavors of cakes from which we could choose 3. We went with banana/chocolate ganache, vanilla/berries and apple spice. Each flavor was better than the next (and I am not usually a cake person). Part way through planning I wanted to surprise the groom with a 'grooms cake' at the rehearsal. I reached out requesting a chess themed cake and let Chickadee create their masterpiece. Both cakes were absolutely beautiful on the inside and out. They were very responsive to all emails/requests and we could not be happier. I would happily use them again for any function that I may have in the future! -

Chickadee Hill Cakes did an amazing job with our 4-tier cake! My mom, husband and I went to the cake tasting and met with Shara. I showed her what I was looking look wise, and she drew it up for me within minutes… and it was well within budget! We had three different flavors - butter vanilla berries & cream, pumpkin chai caramel and fudge cookies & cream - all beyond delicious. Chickadee Hill Cakes did such an amazing job with our cake. We really had no idea what we wanted for design or even flavor but Shara was able to help us come up with a beautiful cake at the tasting. The entire process was a breeze, and they were very responsive. Everyone LOVED the cake. We also added gluten free cupcakes as the wedding got closer, and they tasted amazing. We met Chickadee Hill at a Wedding Expo in Dover, NH in the fall of 2017. We had done some caking tasting at other bakeries and were almost ready to sign a contract with someone else when we tasted Chickadee Hill’s cake. The cake was like nothing we had ever tasted before. It was a different type of cake and one that screamed wedding. We set a date for a tasting and decided that they were the ones for us. I showed them my inspiration for the wedding cake and they went right work. The end result on my wedding night was exactly what I had envisioned and the cake tasted awesome. I got 4 different flavors and all guests enjoyed the cake. If your looking for a bakery that is a cut above the rest you need to call Chickadee Hill. -

We didn’t feel like cake tasting at numerous places, and after our tasting at Chickadee we felt that we didn’t need to compare! The flavors we tried at Chickadee were all delicious. Chickadee Hill made us feel confident they could execute the design of the cake we had in mind and it came out absolutely perfect. We also added some cake pops as an additional dessert and those were a hit at the wedding. The cake was a beautiful focal point and paired perfectly with our décor.
