Beautiful designs

I loved my cake!! I wanted a very specific design for the cake and they were great to work with and very communicative. They designed the cake perfectly to the inspiration photos I gave them and tied the bow so nicely. It was amazing! Cake came with our venue package and the chocolate and raspberry flavor was delicious!

Delicious Cake!!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake and so did our guests! We received many compliments during and after our wedding. Our cake was fresh, moist, and full of flavor. Jeanie was very attentive to what we wanted and responsive to all my questions and emails. Our cake was so good, we couldn't save our top tier until our 1 year anniversary and I look forward to asking if a mini replica can be made next year.

Definitely recommend!

We used this bakery for our wedding cake as it came with the package for our venue. Katie was a pleasure to work with and our cake looked exactly like the picture we showed her. It was absolutely delicious and we got alot of compliments on the look and taste of our cake! Definitely recommend!

Perfect Cake!

My wedding cake looked just like the picture I sent them - they did amazing! They also were able to work with my gluten free guests and delivered! I got so many compliments on the flourless chocolate cake (even from some non-gluten free guests)! My cake was also wonderfully delicious!

Delicious Cake

Katie at the bakery was so helpful and a delight to work with. I did not have an exact style picked out and was provided with lost of options and design ideas to choose from. Their cake was so light and flavorful that seconds were needed! I would recommend them to anyone in need of a cake.

Best Wedding Cake Ever!!!

One of the best parts of the wedding planning process was cake tasting! After trying 4 other bakeries, we tried Central Continental. Within the very first bite, we were sold. They had great ideas on how to cut costs including making a small show cake for the wedding and making sheet cakes for the kitchen to cut up for our guests. The price was great and the sales woman that helped us was fantastic too. The cake was to die for!!! We chose 2 different flavors- half yellow/half chocolate with raspberry and banana cake with fudge (by far our favorite!!!!). Our guests continue to rave about the delicious cakes! Central Continental is now our favorite bakery by far! We could never get a cake from another bakery ever!

Our wedding cake came with the wedding package at the Concorde. We had such a fun and tasty cake tasting experience. We had no idea what type of cake we wanted, but between tasting and looking at books at the bakery, we chose our cake. We thought we would be limited in our selection since it was part of a package, but we were not! Our cake was so beautiful and exceeded our expectations. It was so delicious! Would definitely recommend!

We discovered this bakery through our venue at Concorde Banquets. We worked with Katie Collins and she was super helpful and accomodating and the cake was delicious! We also did donut party favors with them which were a hit!

I received the cake from here with my package from Fountain Blue Banquets. The cake was delicious and beautiful. They made it very easy for me and gave me exactly what I asked for. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and taste of the cake. I highly recommend!

I can not express how happy I am with the way my wedding cake turned out! We had 4 tiers all different flavors (including cheesecake)!! I have used this bakery in the past for a custom birthday cake and custom cupcakes. I have literally shown them a photo on my phone and they have been able to exceed my expectations every time! I would recommend this bakery to everyone! They were super helpful with any questions answering my calls and emails very quickly. We used Chandlers in Schaumburg as our reception venue and they network with this bakery so the cake cost was wrapped up into our venue cost.

Katie was so helpful in designing our wedding cake. We mixed the designs from three different cakes and she listened to each detail that we wanted. It was so easy to make an appointment with her and to order the sample cakes. The cakes were delicious and it was difficult to pick which flavors we wanted. The cake looked beautiful at our wedding reception and our guests loved the taste of the cake.

My wedding cake turned out beautiful. The consultation was great and Katie was very helpful with ideas to help customize the design. I was very pleased and received a lot of compliments on the taste of the cake. Awesome red velvet with cream cheese filling.

We used Central Continental Bakery for our wedding this past May. They had a working relationship with the venue we selected for our reception, and my wife is familiar with the bakery. We were very pleased with the cake they made for our wedding. From the consultation on how to select the cake, and the flavor tastings, it really helped us narrow down what we wanted for our guests. We ended up going with a lemon cake and buttercream fillings. We then picked our a design and ended up having a 3 tier cake with different designs on each tier. Each tier also had a different filling and cake (marble and strawberry was our other selection. After the selection, they handled all of the back end communication involving the reception venue and the cake looked elegant and just what we had envisioned from the consultation. They even placed our custom cake topper on for us as well. Most importantly, we heard from numerous guests that they enjoyed their slices and the different varieties available. We brought home the topper to freeze for our 1 year anniversary and couldn't help but eat most of the cake since it was so delicious. Cheers!

Ever since I was a little girl, I would walk downtown MP always asking to stop and take a look at the cakes in CCB’s window. I always told myself that CCB would be the one to make my wedding cake. I had my reception at Medinah Banquets in Addison, IL and the cake was included in the package. Although I was still considering purchasing one from CCB, we decided it wouldn’t be in the budget since it is already included. We then asked our reception hall what color cake, designs, flavors, etc are available and they said to ask CCB where they get their cakes! How amazing was that!? It was meant to be! My reception hall purchased their cakes from CCB – my dream come true! CCB was very professional and quick to reply to emails coordinating a cake testing. They were very nice and patient as we worked through the details. They went above and beyond the customer service that was expected of them. They made dropping off ribbon, having florist add flowers, and reception hall add cake topper so easy! They are very well organized and I couldn’t have asked for a better bakery to work with! The cake was AMAZING! I cannot wait to enjoy the top tier of cake in about a year! The bakery is very talented! The cake looked GORGEOUS and the buttercream frosting was designed PERFECTLY. The taste was beyond anything you could imagine! I had SO many compliments on the cake. Both design and taste blew my guests away. If you are looking for a place to get your cake, please look no further because CCB is just the absolute best. The quality is unbelievable and the service is friendly, professional, and personal. They are very talented. They are customer-orientated bakery that has been around for years, and I look forward to having them around for years to come. Their quality and service cannot be beat!! Thank you Central Continental Bakery for making the cake of my dreams! I am still in awe when I see pictures of it. It was amazing! You are absolutely wonderful!

Katie did a tremendous job on our cake and everyone was impressed when they walked into the room! It matched our picture exactly and every layer we had (4 total) was a different filling and it was so delicious. Central Continental also provided the European Sweet Table that we had and everything on the table was amazing from eclairs to tarts to chocolate strawberries and various mini bites and they didn't last long. They work directly with Concorde Banquets which made it even easier!

Katie, in the wedding department, answered all of our questions and our unusual requests - a sprinkle-covered wedding cake and an Auburn Unversity themed groom's cake.

On the day, of, they did not disappoint. Beautiful, quirky cakes that were absolutely delicious. I can't wait til our one year anniversary, just to eat more cake!

The vendor was included with our venue which I was very happy to hear since I grew up in the neighborhood and we have used this bakery before and everything they make is wonderful. Can't wait to go for our tasting and pick out what kind of wedding cake I want!

The best wedding cake ever! Their service was superb, from the tasting (which was my favorite part of our wedding planning) to the resulting cake. We chose a chocolate and yellow cake with mocha filling and it was beautiful and amazingly delicious. They decorated the cake exactly how I wanted and our guests raved about how it was the the best wedding cake they have ever had. I would recommend this bakery to anyone looking for their perfect wedding cake.

We were required to use Central Continental Bakery since our wedding cake was included in our wedding package. I had e-mailed inquiring about dates and times to set up a consultation. They were very fast and efficient on setting up the meeting. Once we arrived we had the pleasure of working with Christine. She was so friendly and helpful that is made the process of choosing our cake so much easier. Since our cake was included we had restrictions to what we could do unless we wanted to spend more money out of pocket. They did not push us at all to add anything, they just wanted to make sure we had what we wanted, and of course everything we tried was amazing. I love this bakery!

LOVEEEEED my cake!!!!

It was gorgeous and looked EXACTLY like the picture i showed them. Not only did the cake look amazing, but it tasted BEYOND amazing as well!! My MOH has been in and attended what seems like a 100 weddings and even she was super impressed with how delicious our cake was.

The cake was so delicious that my family had a replica tier waiting for my husband and I when we returned for our honeymoon (since we only got a bite or so the night of!)

I can't say enough amazing things about my cake-- look no further, Central Continental should be your first and last stop for all your cake/bakery needs.

Absolutely delicious! In the past I have tried many different wedding cakes and most of the cake were disgusting. When my wife and I did a taste test of this bakery we were blown away. The day of our wedding not only did our cake taste incredible. The bakery did a fantastic job decorating it the way we wanted.

Our cake was part of our package from Bridges of Poplar Creek Country Club. We heard on the news that a fire had nearly burned down their building so we were really nervous about how they would be able to fill all of the orders coming up for Easter and wedding season. Even though this massive fire required them to move locations, you would never know anything this horrible happened! They had staff contacting us to reschedule our tasting and even got personal calls to our cell phones from their staff's cell phones after they were still organizing all of the chaos that comes with moving locations.

We chose a four-tier cake that included a blue ribbon and two simple broaches. We met with the bakery to go over all of our choices and again to have the tasting and drop off our cake accessories. The day of our cake arrived on time and exactly as requested. We think they may have upgraded our frosting just to make it exactly how we wanted it! The cake tasted great, looked great, and they were extremely accommodating and helpful! Thanks again! We also have a FREE one-year anniversary cake that came with our package so we don't have to let a cake sit in our freezer for a year! A+++++++. Will do business with again.

The cake was exactly what I wanted! They did a nice job with the cake sampling too. We got to choose either mini cups or small cakes. We did the small cakes and it was a great dessert for later.

Our cake came with the package at Fountain Blue, but it was yummy, yummy, yummy!! Our cake was so beautiful - my husband was impressed on how it came out! At the end of the night, everybody was asking where we got the cake from and because we had cake left over, it was all gone by the time we wanted a late night snack! It was that good!!

The bakery is amazing. The staff are amazing. The cake was SO TASTY!! We had a 5 tier cake and they gave us exactly what we asked for. Each tier had a different cake flavor for variety. The buttercream was delightful and they decorated it so perfectly. I mailed ribbon into them and they used it around the bottom of each tier and placed "bling" around the ribbon. Their cooperation with my dream idea for our cake made the cake turn out better than I could have ever imagined!

I personally am not a huge fan of cakes and was really not planning on having one at all for my wedding but it was included in our banquet hall package. I didn't have any at the actual wedding but I did eat the top tier of the cake the day after the wedding with my husband and it was beyond delicious. It was beautifully decorated in a winter theme as well. They do a wonderful job.

We loved our wedding cake. The were able to make 3 different flavored tiers and one of them was pumpkin with cream cheese. They also provided our sweet table and all of our guests raved about how good the cake and the desserts were. I want my birthday cake from here! We worked through the Arboretum Club and the bakery was responsive in providing the answers to them.

Our cake was part of the package deal that we had with our hall and therefore was built into the cost over-all, so while I put 5 as value... I hadn't priced them out. Even if we had, it would have been worth a higher price!

We chose to order extra sample cups prior to the wedding to help narrow down our decision. Ultimately, we went with a white cake with a combination of bavarian custard and buttercream for the filling (YUM) and buttercream frosting over-all. In place of a cake topper, we chose fondant flowers, which we then needed to pay extra for.

The cake was delicious! My only complaint was that the box that they gave us to take home the top tier wasn't tall enough at all, and came no where near to closing. If that is the worse you have to deal with... who cares!?

I highly recommend this bakery.

Central Continental Bakery baked and designed our wedding cake. It already looked so gorgeous on paper, but when we walked into our reception and saw the cake on the cake table, we were floored. It was so beautiful and well made! Not to mention delicious! They added a ribbon and some other touches to make the cake stand out, which I really appreciated! Can't wait to eat our top tier on our 1st wedding anniversary!

I have great things to say about CCB.
First of all, my cake was absolutely beautiful. I had a rustic theme and I wanted a textured cake, so I gathered some inspiration and CCB recreated exactly what I wanted. It also tasted delicious! (combination cake flavors with buttercream filling).
The staff was also very helpful. I ordered the cake through my venue that is partnered with the bakery, but I had to get in touch with the bakery personally so I could talk about details.
Candice was the one who worked with me, and I was extremely impressed with her speedy responses. We chatted throughout the day, and I got emails back within minutes from her. It was so nice to get everything settled in just one day, and relieved a lot of stress.
She was also super flexible, and shared in my excitement to have the cake I wanted.

When I saw it on my wedding day as I entered the reception, I couldn't have been happier. My guests loved it as well. Thank you CCB!

For our wedding we opted to have cupcakes opposed to a cake. Not only were the cupcakes delicious, but they were beautiful as well. After doing our cupcake tasting we now take random rides out to this bakery just to try all of their other delicious treats!! This place is delicious, and everyone is so friendly.

We used Central Continental Bakery for our wedding cake. It was sooooooo good! Our cake originally came with a fondant "frosting". We are not big fans of fondant and preferred that it be frosted with buttercream. They were very accomodating. The cake came out exactly as it looked in the picture with fondant and tasted amazing. They have a beautiful selection and delectable flavors. No Value rating or Cost listed because we're not sure how much it costed; we ordered the cake through our venue (our venue ordered on our behalf).

Central Continental Bakery is the bakery that my vendor went through. I was a little thrown because when we did our tasting we ordered to-go cups for $2.50 of 6 different flavors of cakes / fillings, so it wasnt exactly the experience i was expecting - but every single type of cake / filling was out of this world!!! Everything at that bakery is just amazing. Everyone there is really nice too! The design on my cake was intricate, and didnt turn out like the picture, but it was very pretty and tasted AWESOME! I did 2 tiers of vanilla cream and 1 tier of raspberry cream - just delicious!!

What can we say expect "you're the best". Our cake was absolutely delicious and everything we expected and probably more. Their buttercream is the best. We ordered the "Danielle" in a white cake with buttercream icing and chocolate buttercream filling. We enjoyed our cake so much that we took half of it with us on our honeymoon - why wait for our 1st Anniversary. Continental is the best and always has been.

One of the reasons that I chose my banquet hall was that they contracted thru Central Continental for the cake. We had a square, three tier cake of the "Champagne" design. I liked the uniqueness of the cake. We did chocolate cake with raspberry filling. It was excellent. We have frozen the top, but intent to go back and get a fresh cake if it's not good in a year. (Note that I have them 5 stars in all categories as to not bias the rating, but I did not deal with the bakery directly, so i am only really rating the taste, appearance, and design of the cake.

Our cake turned out amazing! The place we got married worked one on one to make our special cake! It had resembled a bubbly champagne cake! Our venue outsourced the wedding cake to Central Continental Bakery. Because our venue did not provide taste testing for the cake we called up the bakery and they gladly made samples, of our choice, for us to come in and test. We worked with Mary at the bakery and she was VERY flexible with us. We had an idea of what we wanted and she made it happen. Our cake was absolutely delicous. There are no words to describe how absolutely perfect my cake was! We went to Central Continental Bakery and had samples of different combinations of cake and filling and went with a white cake with chocolate buttercream filling.

I found a picture online of a cake I really liked and they literallu copied it to the absolute last detail. It was far BEYOND what I ever expected they could do! With all those fancy cake shows on TV now you can easily have one of those cakes for a fraction of the cost! My cake was by far one of the best things about my wedding. It was so unique and different, no one expected a black and white cake! It was INCREDIBLE!!!! Thank you CCB!!!

My ceremony and reception site had an arrangement with Central Continental Bakery. The cake is included in all of the banquet fees, and all they (White Pines) ask is that you bring any pictures or ribbon for your design. I submitted probably the most confusing wedding cake sketch and set of directions ever, and they recreated my vision perfectly. The cake was stunning, and delicious (chocolate cake w/ raspberry bavarian cream filling), too!

My husband and I live in Dallas but got married in Chicago Oct 24th. It was hard to plan a wedding out of state. We chose to get our cake here and it was absolutely awesome. It tasted great and looked beautiful. I also had them do a surprise grooms cake. I wanted my husbands race car. I sent them pictures with every detail I wanted on it. I didnt get to see any of their samples but couldnt have been happier with the outcome. My husband loved it and it looked just like his car!! They were wonderful!! We picked a style out of the book and then brought in some pictures from magazines to sort of personalize our cake to us. She was extremely helpful and for a small charge was able to incorporate my ideas. The cake samples were also easy to get. A little far from where we live but if we were in the area we'd definitely go back!

Our cake was perfect. The only thing that didn't happen is that we had requested a green pattern on the cake and they left it all as white, but it ended up looking better and more elegant! I also had wanted to surprise my husband by incorporating something to commemorate the New York Giants winning the Super Bowl. The bakery was incredibly accommodating and made the perfect tribute on the side of the top tier so that our head table could see it but the majority of the pictures would not have it. Our reception site works directly with the bakery which made everything incredibly easy.

The website definitely need updating. I was not able to pick anything I like from the website, so you'll have to go to the store. They're very flexible in making changes in the cake to make your "dream wedding cake" happened. The cake itself is unbelievably tasty. Best wedding cake I've eaten! I just wished I got to finish my piece at my wedding. It's a shame. I would go back for my anniversary cake and their other tasty treats!

We used Continental for our wedding cake and it was delicious! I also had a special request... My husband is a Boston College alumus and huge fan so I requested a groom's cake made to look like the Boston College logo. They were 100% on... it looked perfect and tasted even better!

Central Continental Bakery provided our wedding cake for our fall wedding. My parents have been using this bakery since I was born in '86 and we have loved them and their cakes since then. The wedding cake came out gorgeous, I gave them a photo of an idea that we liked, but I told them to use their creativity a little and make it into their own as long as the cake was ivory and had leaves and branches on it. The cake was better than I expected, and way better than any photo I could find! The cake was also delicious and very rich in flavor. The only downside was that my husband originally wanted fresh banana cream filling for half the cake, but they quoted us $1.50 per person for the banana cream filling, so we went with a more basic filling for the whole cake since we ended up having about 185 people. Other than that, the cake was still awesome and I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for a great wedding cake.

The cake was outstanding. We liked a cake with fondant, but wanted buttercream and they said no problem. They were very easy to work with and the product was great!!!!!!! Would recommend for any bakery need.

our cake was absolutely amazing. The design/colors are exactly what I wanted. The cake was soo good, we didn't even wait for our one year anniversary, the top of our cake is already eaten!

Our wedding cake came from Central Continental and we could not have been happier with it! Their cakes themselves are absolutely delicious and their butter cream is amazing! Their bakery is the best of old world European baking and care!

Our design consultation and tasting went wonderfully! We got to try a variety of their cakes and fillings! They have traditional flavors and some more non-traditional (their banana cake was quite tasty). Our wedding was in September and our initial consultation was in early March.

Their designers seemed really on-top of their game. They were going to create a cake for us with frosting cherry blossoms. We initially did not want to use fondant. However, cut to the end of August. I was checking in to see where our cake topper needed to go and was told by a new designer they could not do the cherry blossoms in frosting. I was a bit upset, but we had enough wiggle room in our budget to upgrade to the fondant. I would have appreciated knowing sooner about the need to change the design. It turns out they had changed designers in the time between our consultation and wedding. Just a reminder to always check-in with your vendors!

Besides that hiccup, I was pleased as can be with Central Continental! The cake was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing! Really, the one negative I had was nothing compared to the positives! Highly recommend them!

We originally were getting my cake elsewhere, but that baker backed out just over 2 weeks before my wedding. Central Continental is the Bakery that my reception hall works with so we decided to go with them. So, props to them for making our cake on such short notice! I had a lot of specifications that were not included in the package that we paid for extra, but we were not disappointed. The cake was delicious! We got so many great reviews from everyone. The buttercream frosting was to die for! Definitely recommend!
