Lovely wedding cake!

We had a great experience with Buttercream. Our cake was delicious and beautiful! They did a great job with our desired design. We loved that they don't use artificial ingredients/colors.

Awesome cake!

We booked Buttercream for our wedding cake and cupcakes and they were fantastic! Our tasting was awesome - the cake and frosting were light and the mousse was so good! We elected to go with a small tiered cake and a variety of flavors of cupcakes. The cupcakes were beautiful and the cake was so good. We had multiple people tell us that the cupcakes were the best cupcakes they had ever had! The pricing was also very reasonable and cupcakes were regular size, not smaller like some bakeries do for weddings. Would highly recommend them!

Awesome cake

Our caterer recommended Buttercream for our cake, and we are really happy we did. It was delicious and looked gorgeous! They delivered the cake and assembled it onsite at our reception venue, including placing the flowers and a cake topper that we purchased on Etsy.

great cake

We had to use buttercream for our wedding cake since that is who our caterer used, and they did a great job. The cake was delicious, our guests ate every last piece. The delivery person put on our fresh flowers from the florist and it looked beautiful. They even called me about 10 days before to go through and confirm everything with our order. I was very pleased with the service and quality. Their prices were very reasonable as well.

The Best Cake

This is the most delicious wedding cake you will find.

We compared many, many bakeries at a range of price points and Buttercream was the clear winner in both flavor and value. Marisa responded to my emails promptly and was super-helpful in designing our beautiful cake. Delivery to our venue was seamless and low-stress. Buttercream worked with our wedding coordinator to ensure we had refrigerated storage on-site to keep the buttery frosting at a safe temperature until the reception. Highly recommended!!

Delicious!

We had a great experience with Buttercream! Our wedding cake was delicious (we got the lemon strawberry flavor) and we got several compliments on it. We also ordered a huge variety of their mini desserts for a dessert buffet, and everything was SO good. Our absolute favorite: the classic brownie cubes. I did not know a brownie cube could be so decadent and delicious, but they were incredible. We would definitely recommend getting them! Last thing-- Buttercream was flexible when we had to reschedule our wedding and downsize our cake due to Covid, and we really appreciated that.

August wedding 2020

Buttercream was hands down the best bakery for our wedding. We went and tasted and decided that day and didn’t go anywhere else!! The service was impeccable and the owner was amazing!!! I highly, highly recommend them!! We are definitely looking forward to our free 1 year anniversary topper!!!!

Our Desserts Buffet dreams came true!!

Buttercream
Our desserts buffet for wedding day was flawless AND delicious! Reasonably priced and easy to work with! The pictures look like they are stolen from a wedding magazine! We wanted a large buffet with nearly every mini dessert that Buttercream has to offer! We are not sorry that we got WAY too many desserts (we got to take the leftovers home and shared with family and our DJ!) as we did that on purpose! Biggest complaint I have with most weddings we attend is that there is never enough cake or sweets! Well our guests had more than enough for any palette! Everyone enjoyed something! Our cake was strawberry alaritz and was phenomenal! Although we didn’t get to take it with us since there was no box left for us to put it in, we still got to enjoy every moment of our cake cutting and eating! We rented the rhinestone stands as well – they were beautiful and perfect for all 300 of our desserts! We were able to return the stands to Buttercream a few days later – nice and convenient! We plan to order a cake with our flavor one day soon as we really loved it! I especially enjoyed the fruit tarts, peanut butter cake pops, chocolate strawberries and all the flavors of bundt cake! The husband adored the super thick and rich brownie pops!! Thank you Buttercream! You were wonderful and we all loved and enjoyed every last bite!!!!

Delicious cakes!

We went with lemon strawberry and chocolate baileys cakes for our wedding, and I can still taste the flavors in my mouth. Buttercream was easy to work with from overseas and coordinated seamlessly with my florist to add matching flowers to the cake. Tasty and beautiful!

So very Yumm!

They had tons of displays for decoration options! We got to try all sorts of flavors. We got to pick two different flavors for our cake! We got beautiful ribbon on our cake, but when we went to cut it at our reception it kind of pulled the whole cake open - it was so funny! Just an FYI that the ribbon can be tricky! But we had so much fun and it was so tasty!

Excellent Cakes

We had our cake tasting last month. They supplied 8 different flavored pieces of cake to try. Every piece was amazing. We picked chocolate mousse for our wedding. I know our guests will be very impressed with this cake company!

Best cake every!

We had hired Buttercream to make the cake for a party we threw for my parents 50th wedding anniversary a few years ago. We loved the cake so much, there was just never even a question about using another vendor to make the cake for our wedding! We sampled 6 other places when searching for the right cake for my parent’s party. No other place even comes close to Buttercream and we were just as happy with our cake for our wedding. Buttercream has hands down the best wedding cake I have ever had in my life.

Buttercream made an amazing cake for me! I'm not big on traditional buttercream frosting, so they made an amazing chocolate ganache cake with a delicious strawberry filling (with real strawberries!). Everyone was raving about the cake, and multiple people told me they took two pieces. Highly recommend!

You truly can't go wrong with a Buttercream cake! We had a small wedding (70 people) and did a beautiful 2-tier cake - 1 tier of turtle and 1 of carrot cake. It was so incredibly delicious - all of our guests raved about it! Can't wait to have our 1-year anniversary cake (which they kindly include in the overall cost).

We called and got an appointment within a week of requesting it. When we had our tasting we were amazed at the options and flavors! We went with a birch tree look and that is what I designed our wedding around! Our wedding day when the cake arrived we were so happy! It looked exactly how we had wanted and were promised, it was BEAUTIFUL and DELICIOUS!! We had so many compliments on our cake as well! They also give you a free cake on your 1 year anniversary so you don't have to freeze the top! We will definitely use them again!

We absolutely loved using Buttercream for our wedding cake and cupcakes! Our taste testing experience was perfect, and the individual who helped us was honest and professional. We wanted a small cake for the head table and then cupcakes for all of our guests. Every step of the way, Buttercream was helpful and on top of their game! We even had to change our order kind of last minute, and they were more than willing to help! We had Buttercream deliver the cake, cupcakes and cupcake stand the morning of the wedding, and all of the cupcakes made it in perfect condition! The delivery person set up the cupcakes in sections exactly like we wanted, and they even set up our signs for us that listed what each cupcake was. We even requested to have a few cupcakes set aside so my husband and I could have one the next day, and they gave us a little to-go case for the cupcakes and put them in the fridge at our venue for us! The cake and cupcakes were DELICIOUS, and we still get compliments on how tasty they were! They had the best and most unique flavors too, which we loved! And we even get a complimentary cake on our 1 year anniversary! Buttercream is highly recommended!

LOVED the cake, so delicious....had lots of compliments! We ended up using back up cakes/cake that was pre cut and served on a dish already....we opted to not do a cake cutting and we saved a lot of money by doing this. Buttercream is VERY good especially if you are just looking for some really good cake! I'd recommend doing a tasting as well--go hungry! ;-)

It's not hard to see why Buttercream is a wedding cake vendor of choice in the Twin Cities. Their cakes are beautiful and taste amazing! My husband doesn't like cake or frosting, and originally wanted to look at alternative dessert options. After visiting buttercream - he obliged to a traditional wedding cake! We loved our flavors - Neapolitan and Bailey's Irish Cream - and so did our guests! We also appreciated their portion sizing. It wasn't over the top, the perfect sweet taste to end the meal. I found them to be professional, budget conscious and very reliable. We can't wait for our 1-year anniversary cake!

Our cake from Buttercream was one of our absolute favorite parts of the wedding, and we were so happy working with them every step of the way. The cake tasting session is a joy all in itself. The cake is delicious, and the decorators/designers are incredibly friendly and seem to absolutely love their work. Our cake design was gorgeous and really spoke to us personally. They even put in a little black lab puppy at our request, and it melted our hearts to see it the day of! As embarrassed as we were to ask for this addition, the staff was not phased at all and loved the opportunity for a challenge. We get the impression that no matter how weird your request is, they will work with you! All our guests absolutely LOVED how the cake looked and tasted (even my husband's diabetic dad who snuck two pieces!). We might be biased because it was our wedding, but it was by far the best wedding cake we’ve had. Trust us, you will be so glad you went with Buttercream for your wedding.

DELICIOUS! We did a mix of the mini cheesecakes and cupcakes for our guests and everyone just loved them! We also had a small cake made for us to cut and everything was just wonderful. The setup looked beautiful and there are so many different options of flavors and styles.

Simply amazing cake. We received so many compliments from guests on how delicious the cake was. The initial tasting was so fun, they were a joy to work with, the cake itself was beautiful -- and they offer a free personal wedding cake on your 1 year anniversary. Absolutely the best! I'm not a cake person but there was a deal through our wedding venue with Buttercream. We went through their Minnetonka site. I found the older gentleman helping us very entertaining and accommodating. We went with 2 flavors - lemon raspberry and BAYLO (bailey's/chocolate lovers). The cake turned out great and delicious! I highly recommend!

Buttercream was great to work with from start to finish. They let us come in for a cake testing and sat with us patiently as we ran through all of our options and budget. We had a small cake for the Groom and myself and a full cupcake tree of different flavors of cupcakes for our guests. These cupcakes are HUGE and so beautiful! They tasted so fresh and the flavors were amazing. Our small cake was the perfect size for our cake topper and tasted unbelievable. We cannot wait to get our free anniversary cake next year!

AMAZING! I would have this cake everyday for the best if I could. Not only was it beautiful, it was so delicious. We were able to go on location, have a sit down meeting & tasting (which my husband and I obviously loved) and discuss our vision. Super simple process, very professional, really straightforward payment & great value, and executed on design and setup perfectly! Did make some adjustments and it was really easy to communicate that over email. SELLING POINTS: They provided 2 flavors for our guests to enjoy & we get a NON FROZEN 1 year anniversary cake! They did an excellent job with everything except for the flavors. The cupcakes looked amazing and the texture was good but were not that full of flavor. My daughter and I did a blind taste test and could barely tell the difference between the cake portion of the red velvet and the white. There were many cupcakes left over.

Our cake was absolutely amazing! It was beautiful and so delicious! Our guests still talk about it, 6 months later! We almost didn't get any of our own cake, because some people ate 3-4 pieces each! We chose Bailey's chocolate and hazelnut praline and they were soooo good. Best wedding cake I've ever had. We can't wait for our one year anniversary, when the bakery makes you a complimentary mini cake!

We LOVED our cake and we had so many compliments, it was definitely a crowd pleaser! If you are reading this and are on the fence, at least go to a tasting to try out the amazing flavors they have to offer and you might just fall for them on the spot like we did!!

We used Buttercream as our cake vendor as part of a package through our reception venue. I cannot tell you how delicious their cakes are! The cake tasting was the absolute best part of wedding planning, and they actually let me come back try everything again when my mom was in town to get her opinion on it too! They also let us supply our own ribbon and cake stand to save $$$ instead of them supplying theirs at a fee. To top it all off, they through in a free cupcake for my grandpa that we gave him at the reception for his birthday and had everyone sing to him! We did opt to spend an extra $100 for more intricate details on the cake but it turned out so gorgeous and it was totally worth it!

Best part of it all - on your 1 year anniversary you get a free small cake to share with your hubby instead of having to freeze the top of your wedding cake and eat freezer-burnt cake a year later!

Most delicious cake ever! Everything from the tasting to delivery was perfect. I needed a gluten free cake and they were so understanding and accommodating, three delicious flavors to choose from. The cake is moist and the frosting is amazing! So many our our guests commented on how wonderful the cake was!

Buttercream Bakery was so helpful in the decision-making process of our cake/cupcakes! They were flexible in fitting us into our crazy schedule and were very responsive to all our emails, requests, questions, etc. Not to mention their cake/cupcakes are DELICIOUS!! They have so many unique flavors, all of which are tasty! The cupcakes are huge and we have gone back multiple times just to buy some for ourselves. They do the entire set up of the display and are so easy to work with. Highly recommended!

My husband and I went to several different cake tastings that left us feeling sick to our stomachs from all the heavy frosting and way to much sugar. Buttercream was different, it was light and flavorful and left us wanting more!! We ended up getting a small cake to cut for wedding and 4 different kinds of cupcakes for our guests. We wanted something different for our post wedding reception The cake shooters were a great hit and gorgeous! We had Baileys Chocolate, Pina Colada (Hawaiian wedding,) fresh strawberry, and raspberry marble. We had an almond praline cake on top of the stand. The presentation was beautiful and the cake was delicious. It was a big hit!

The cake was delicious! We had an excellent experience working with Buttercream. Everything from the tasting to the delivery to the cake itself was just as we were hoping. The staff was easy to work with and flexible with our wedding day schedule. Our wedding was outdoors without a place to refrigerate the cake for a long period of time, so the delivery timing was important, and everything went smoothly.

Stop your search for a wedding cake vendor and book with Buttercream! I ordered a small cake for photos/cutting and chose cupcakes for the rest of my guests. I had SO MANY compliments on the cupcakes - I ordered 5 different flavors and every single one was delicious! I was able to take a few leftovers home with me and I was just thrilled with how everything turned out. The cake was beautiful as well! Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Buttercream cakes are so light and fluffy and the price is extremely reasonable. They are by far my favorite cake. I liked them so much we used them for both the groom's cake and our wedding cake and our guests all loved it! Their staff was incredibly easy to work with and extremely professional. David has been so helpful during this stressful time! We had our last meeting yesterday and I feel absolutely confident that if all else fails we will have delicious cupcakes and cutting cake to eat the day of the wedding. Their cake is fantastic and not made with lard or dyes so it does not stain your teeth (or anything else it touches) or give you gut rot. We did a couple of cake tastings with different vendors and this tasting if the only one that we left without feeling sick. I can't wait to try the 4 flavors of mini cupcakes we went with!

UPDATE: Everything arrived on time and was set up beautifully! It was a hit since we only had 10 mini cupcakes left at the end of the night. Even my brother who "hates cake" polished off 5 cupcakes.

The cake tasting was probably one of our favorite activities and although it was hard to choose, we selected a 3-tiered cake with almond praline on the bottom layer and red velvet on the top 2 layers. We also rented a cake stand in one of our wedding colors to really make the cake stand out at the reception. It was absolutely delicious and couldn't have been more perfect on our wedding day!

Buttercream happens to contract with the Arboretum, where we held our wedding and reception. But even so, we would have chosen them independently. They're wonderful to work with and we can see why there's so many positive reviews about them. Bonus: they will bake you a fresh cake on your 1st anniversary so you don't need to worry about freezing the top layer for that occasion.

We did a cake tasting and knew immediately that we were going to book with Buttercream...they just have such a vast knowledge of the wedding cake industry and you would be hard-pressed to find a better tasting frosting! Once we ordered with them, the process was seamless. They called me a couple times to check in weeks before the wedding to grab final guest counts. They brought the cake into the venue and set it up right when they were scheduled to. They put colored ribbons that I bought on the tiers to tie in the colors of the wedding. The cake was delicious and the best part is that we didn't have to save any for our one year anniversary, because we get to go back in a year and get a cake top for free, baked fresh...and I can't wait to taste it again :)
I also felt it was priced just right...so I would definitely recommend!!

If you choose Buttercream for your wedding cake it is worry-free! We choose a simple 6 inch cake as our wedding cake and then cupcakes for our guests. We received so many compliments on how amazing the cupcakes tasted. Buttercream is great to work with and so easy.

Buttercream was so helpful in the wedding planning process! A couple months after originally meeting with Buttercream I changed my mind on what I wanted our cake to look like. They were so accommodating and flexible to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. They were very responsive any time I called or sent them an email. I can’t even begin to put into words how much I loved my wedding cake from Buttercream. I chose two different flavors: Amaretto Cream and Raspberry Chocolate and both flavors were AMAZING! I loved how moist the cake was and the buttercream frosting was absolutely delicious! The cake turned out beautifully and I got so many compliments from my guests. The staff was easy to work with and let me bring in my own cake ribbon so that I was sure it would match my colors. Buttercream was easy to work with and open to whatever kind of design we wanted. They were very helpful in determining what would look best and how much cake we would need, without being pushy. Their price-per-slice was comparable to many others we considered, and the quality of their cake... wow. It's really one of the best cakes I ever had. The frosting was so light and fluffy. It was sweet, but not really that sweet, enough to where it was refreshing. Their flavor options are great, too! I worked with David at Buttercream because I decided last minute that I didn't want to buy the desserts through my venue, rather I wanted to bring in an outside vendor. Therefore we had our tasting less than 2 weeks before the wedding - and it was no big deal to David and team. They welcomed us in to taste all of the cakes privately at the Minnetonka location - each was more delicious than the next (esp. recommend the chocolate Baileys...yummm)! We decided to do cupcakes and a cutting cake. The cupcakes are a great value - they are HUGE and so so tasty and only $3.25 each. We chose 3 different flavors and got to choose the design of our cutting cake. We also rented a stand from them, which they delivered and we had to bring back within a week of the wedding day. All in all it was less than $500 for 85 cupcakes, a beautiful cutting cake, stand rental and set-up. We received so many compliments on the cupcakes and actually had several leftover which we delivered to (happy) friends and family a couple days after the wedding. David was so easy to work with and really pulled through for us at the last minute - I'd use Buttercream again without hesitation for any future events and would definitely recommend them to any Twin Cities brides out there!

Our daughter's wedding cake was lovely. So many guests commented on the beautiful cake and the taste. They especially couldn't get over the quality (taste and texture) of the frosting! (We highly recommend the neapolitan cake!) Buttercream worked with us to accurately estimate how much cake we would need for our guests, and they were responsive to small changes we made to the cake decorations. We'd highly recommend choosing Buttercream for your wedding cake!

We did a small 2 tier cake and cake pops for our wedding and they were amazing! We had only 5 cake pops left at the end of the night because everyone loved them so much. Buttercream did a fantastic job with our dessert table for our wedding! We ordered an assortment of cookies, cheesecakes, and mini dessert shooters for our reception. The sales team helped us determine how much to order based on our invite list, and then they modified the order to reflect the number of guests who were going to be attending (about a week before the event). They delivered the desserts without any issues, and once guests were allowed to try the desserts they flew off the table! Buttercream Cakes was an amazing vendor. I first tried their cake when I was a Flower Girl in a wedding at the age of seven and always said that I would serve their cake at my own wedding some day. Well that "some day" came and it was their fabulous cake that I served. There is nothing like a "Buttercream" cake! It is out of this world! We had many guests at our wedding comment on how delicious our cake was, how it was the best they ever had! It is the best!

We went to the Deephaven location to do our cake tasting. We worked with Warren, he was was very good. He helped us with finding the cake shape that was right for us. He was a good listener, asked good questions and helped us to pick the decorating on our cake that tied into our wedding 'theme.'

They were on time with the delivery and worked well with our florist to coordinate delivery times (we had fresh flowers added to our cake.)

Buttercream bakery was amazing. Warran at the minnetonka location was so helpful and friendly. You can tell he loves his job very much and wants to make sure your cake/cupcakes turn out perfect for your special day. Our cake was beautiful. Turned out exactly as we imagined. Our guests raved about how good the cupcakes were and I'm so glad we got a few extra because people went back for seconds! The cakes were moist, the frosting smooth and buttery, and they looked almost too pretty to eat. I am very happy with our experience at buttercream and I will go to them for more special events in the future.

I have been going to bUttercream forever for birthday cake- this time, i went for my wedding, and they really know what they are doing. They have a GREAT selection of cake designs, and their cake are so yummy. We ended up doing a combination flavor, and our cake was as delicious as they are beautiful, thumbs up!

They were very helpful and the taste testing was delicious! They have an elegant display of what they can offer so it was easy to choose them.

Their tasting set-up was great. Their cake was even better! We are SO looking forward to our wedding cake! We worked with Greg and he was knowledgeable and worked with us to get the style of cake that we wanted.

My cake was gorgeous and the best cake I have ever tasted!! I chose the strawberry lemon split, and chocolate baileys cream. Everyone raved about it!
I can't wait for our anniversary for a free cake :)

Our wedding cake from Buttercream was the most delicious of any that we tasted. They offered a huge number of flavors to choose from. The cake was beautiful as well.

They make the best cakes ever! Not only do you get a wedding cake but come back in a year and you get a free anniversary cake!

Buttercream Bakery was DELICIOUS! I don't think I have had so much fun at a cake tasting ever! The staff were very helpful in narrowing down all the delicious choices! The end product was delivered without incident, were as beautiful as our venue and wedding day, AND we get a fresh cake topper on our anniversary!! BEST CHOICE we have ever made!

We are not so much picky when it comes to cake, but for our wedding we obviously wanted something that stood out and tasted like something no one has had before. With Buttercream Bakery, they made this a simple process by understanding our wants and needs. It was such a breeze to work with them, and honestly, they were the easiest and quickest vendor we worked with! Everyone at the St. Paul location were an absolute delight! So friendly and eager to make your day special. Plus, on your first year anniversary, they make you a complimentary 4" anniversary cake with the flavor of your choice so you don't have to freeze the top layer of your cake!! AND, they use buttercream for the outer layer frosting instead of yucky fondant. Definitely recommend to any couple that are looking for a bakery for their big day.

We had so much fun going to the cake tasting and getting to try all the different unique flavors and combinations. The minute we tasted them we knew that we were going to go with Buttercream for our wedding. They were willing to work within our budget and we ended up with mini cupcakes lemon, red velvet, amoretto, and strawberry and then ordered a small cake for the wedding party! All of the guest loved them and people who said they normally wouldn't eat cake or dessert couldn't get there fill! They also provide a one year anniversary cake, you just have to call in 3 days before and they will make it for you! Can't wait to taste our cake again in a year :D
