I can’t say enough positive things about Brandon! We were planning a wedding out of state, and he made everything go so smoothly. We had another photographer cancel, so we had to quickly find someone new. Brandon quickly set up a meeting with us, answered all of our questions, and let us book our date. I became overwhelmed with the wedding planning process, but he was able to help coordinate with our other vendors, make a day of timeline for me, and sent me reminders/tips throughout the wedding planning process that was very helpful. We did an engagement session before the big day which was helpful to meet him in person, learn his photography style, and have him learn things that were important to us. All of our pictures came back in a timely manner and we even got sneak peaks the same day! The day of the wedding went smoothly. Brandon helped us stay on time for day of events and he had a second photographer who was professional and talented! We can’t say enough wonderful things about Brandon! Not only were the pictures phenomenal, but the overall wedding experience was more positive because of having him as one of our vendors. He went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations. -

Your search for your photographer ends here! We booked Brandon’s services for our engagement photoshoot and our wedding day and would HIGHLY recommend him for anyone looking to hire a photographer. He went above and beyond with tons of thoughtful touches along the way, and totally exceeded our expectations throughout the entire process.
We first met Brandon during our engagement photoshoot. Despite living in the Grand Rapids area, he was willing to make the long drive to Chicago to take pictures of us in our home city. His unique eye for photography became clear to us immediately after meeting him when he took us to our first spot – right across the street from our apartment! Even though we had lived there for years, we had never taken a second glance at the area. But after driving by the location for the very first time, Brandon was able to find an incredible spot, packed with greenery while still showing off some of the character of Chicago. It ended up being our favorite image from the entire photoshoot! We discovered that Brandon is willing to do whatever it takes to get the perfect picture – if that means risking his own safety by jumping in the middle of a busy city street, so be it. After getting to know him better throughout the day, we came away extremely impressed with the dedication and passion that he showed for his craft. We were equally thrilled with his services during the wedding planning process.
In the time between the engagement shoot and the wedding we received regular communications from Brandon with detailed tips and tricks to help with all the various stages in the process. During our video calls he was an attentive listener to our vision for the day, and he was able to help us consider some of the tiny, but important details to help ensure everything would go as smoothly as possible. The logistics of the wedding day couldn’t have gone any smoother, in large part because of the thoughtful plan that he helped us put together. We had started the day with some anxiety over having a camera lens focused on us the entire time, but any pressure we felt quickly disappeared as working with Brandon and Dannie felt like we were just hanging out with some good friends. Beyond their job description, they were ready and willing to grab us a drink or help with anything we needed. It’s easy to get lost in the heat of a crowded dance floor, but they made sure to pull us aside for a few minutes to catch our breath, hydrate, and soak in the moment.
We had a ‘sneak peek’ slideshow of our pictures in our inbox within days of the wedding, and the finalized gallery was ready so much quicker than we had anticipated. Many members of our bridal party or family who had the pleasure of interacting with Brandon and Dannie had nothing but great things to say. Brandon made a point to introduce himself to our parents and thank them at the end of the night. He made a lasting impression on us, and our families, and we could not be more grateful to have had him as part of our day! The pictures turned out AWESOME and we couldn’t help but print out some copies to share with our guests along with their Thank You cards. Everybody loved them!
We cannot recommend Brandon enough. No matter what the occasion, you will be truly grateful you had Brandon there to capture the special moments! -

Brandon was really great to work with for our wedding photos. He has the process down from meeting with us to hear about what we wanted for our wedding photos; later taking our detailed plan and walking through each component and layering on his suggestions for photos and video. He was very flexible and met all of our wants for capturing our wedding. After the wedding, we received the pictures very quickly--both some initial pictures and the full set. He even set a nice box with USB and a cool set of prints. In total, the quality of his work, his professionalism for the whole process, communication, etc--all exceeded my expectations and his price was a tremendous value! -

Wonderful experience
Brandon was the best decision we made for our wedding. He made our engagement sessions fun and took our suggestions and ran with them in a creative and beautiful way. He was very thorough and attentive to every important aspect of our wedding day. He met with us beforehand and helped us create our wedding timeline from getting dressed to ceremony precession to our first dance. The best part is that he was dedicated to ensure our day was everything we ever wanted and we had private time for each other on such a busy, whirlwind of a day. We highly recommend. -

Amber Sent on 10/17/2017This man is nothing short of brilliant when it comes to a camera! From the first meeting we had over engagement photos I knew I wanted him to be my photographer. He was fun and very excited about shooting some photos. And he was even willing to travel to Charleston, SC for my engagement photos. Just very easy to work with and makes awkward picture taking a very fun experience. He captured every moment of our wedding from 10am to 11pm; Even in 100 degree heat. Him and Wyatt even were celebrating with us which was just overall a great time. I can't say enough good things about our pictures and our photographers. Thank you so much for making sure everyone was we're they needed to be and keeping track of everyone! Brandon and Wyatt NAILED IT!

Darline Sent on 10/22/2017We cannot say enough good things about Brandon Shafer and his team. He helped us plan out our day, organized our shot list, and ensured that our day went smoothly. From easing stressful situations, to making sure, overall, that we were happy and enjoying our day was so appreciated. Our bridal party loved interacting with Brandon and we have heard nothing but great things from our bridal party. Some even wished they had hired him for their own weddings!
His customer service from beginning to end, especially on the day of, was worth every single penny. We always thought that the style of shooting is the most important thing but to be honest, we underestimated how important the customer service aspect was and to be able to have that was an absolute blessing. We have been referring him to all our friends who have weddings coming up.
He also was able to wow our guests with his same day edits and we still hear about it to this day! Our friends and family thought it was so cool that he had same day edits and that they were able to download and share their favorite photos from our big day. He also surprised us with a GIF booth and it was a huge HIT with our guests. It was such a unique and entertaining touch.
Thank you for everything you've done for us Brandon! If you are thinking of booking him, without a doubt, BOOK HIM. You will NOT regret it.

Polly Sent on 10/05/2017Brandon is amazing at what he does! He did such a wonderful job with our wedding and engagement photos. He loves what he does and also knows how to have fun with it. He is laid back and was so fun to have around during the wedding day. Our entire wedding party had a blast during our group shots. He found ways to get creative, get things done quickly, and have a great time with it! He not only captured all of the standard photos, but got great candid shots as well as creative shots that we never would have thought of! We would 100% recommend him to anyone!

User1634782 Sent on 05/27/2014Wonderful! Brandon was the photographer for our New years Eve wedding at the City Flats Hotel in Grand Rapids. He was so much fun to work with and our pictures turned out amazing. We had to plan our wedding from California, and Brandon was so flexible with setting up our Facetime and real life meetings. From start to finish, he made everything so easy.
Brandon is very creative, and had great ideas for our pictures.
We used his goof booth as well, and are so happy with those pictures as well.
Couldnt reccomend him more. -

My husband & I had the pleasure of having Brandon do both our engagement & wedding photos. We couldn't be happier on how they all turned out. I would recommend Brandon Shafer Photography to everyone. If your anything like me, you have a husband that hates picture taking. And truth be told my husband had a great time! He makes his sessions fun & comfortable. Thank you Brandon for the AWESOME JOB!!
