Love this venue! Kristine (the Events Manager) was easy to work with and accommodating to my schedule. She let us come in early to set-up for the wedding and sifted through tons of rented glassware to find our missing Champagne toasting glass following the reception. If you are looking for a venue that has a contemporary feel and has both indoor and outdoor accommodations, the Art Museum is a great choice.

We are so happy that we held our wedding at the Boise Art Museum! It was a perfect venue for us. We really liked the flexibility of having both an indoor and outdoor location and not having to worry about rain or heat. We had our pictures, ceremony and cocktail hour outside and then moved inside for dinner and dancing.

Mary was wonderful to work with! We were very inexperienced about the whole wedding planning process and she guided us and provided great advice. She was very prompt in responding to questions and also coordinated all of our rentals from linens to silverware to pedestals for flowers.

I would absolutely recommend the Art Museum as a wedding venue.

The experience we had with the Boise Art Museum for our daughter's wedding was top-notch! The actions of our event planners, Kristine and Annemarie, were professional, insightful and caring- providing for a memorable wedding that was well executed and transitioned seamlessly. Their coordination with the catering and rental services allowed us to focus on other preparations- saving us countless hours. During the wedding, Kristine was a tremendous help in keeping us on track with the helpful reminders of where we needed to be next and our preparation requirements.

When I decided to have my wedding at the Boise Art Museum, I was elated. The building is beautiful, industrial and old, but immaculately renovated. I liked the idea of having my wedding in a historical building, and the beautiful art work was an added bonus.

When my finace' and I did our first walk-through, we were assured that we could have everything set up just the way we wanted. We were told they had staff to easily help flip the room from ceremony to reception, and not to worry about a thing.

It was a different story once we actually handed over a deposit check. All the sudden they said they couldn't flip the room without HIRING extra staff that WE would have to pay for in addition to the thousands we paid for the rental of the venue. Even though the verbal agreement and the signed contract were in direct contradiction. But we bit the bullet and said to go ahead anyway-- even though we were annoyed.

They were very unresponsive to emails-- as in, many times there was no response at all. They were similarly not very responsive to phone calls.

The Boise Art Museum's event coordinator was curt and seemed to genuinely hate her job. At one point she made mention that I was acting like "all the other brides" she "HAS" to deal with, when I met with her (at her urging) to determine how the room would be set up. Because my finace' had more input than the average groom, she also repeatedly called him "groomzilla," which was funny at first, but then just became rude.

My ceremony and reception were mostly set up the way I wanted-- although I had to argue with the Boise Art Museum coordinator to get it that way.

When I walked in about an hour before the ceremony, I noticed the guest book table was not where I wanted it. I asked the Boise Art Museum coordinator to please move it to the front of the room and she told me no. I told her again to please move it and she told me it wouldn't fit. I eventaully sent one of my bridesmaids on her-- because I was coming unglued. She finally moved it.

At the end of the evening, one of my bridesmaids asked her what time we all needed to be out of the venue. She snapped back, "NOW. And when I say now, I mean RIGHT NOW." My bridesmaid just stood there and stared at her in disbelief.

The director of the Art Museum was just as dismissive. I emailed her and called her a few times with questions saying I wanted to meet with her in person to discuss a few things. When she finally got back to me (far later than is professional) she told me it would be a "waste of rescources." And that no, she wouldn't meet with us.

I would NOT recommend having your wedding at the Boise Art Museum.
