Spectacular photographers!

I can not say enough positive things about Maggie and Betty. They were an absolute DREAM to work with. They were responsive to our emails prior to the wedding. On our wedding day I felt so comfortable and confident with them. My husband and I LOVED working with them. They gave us great direction that made taking pictures feel so easy. They’ve sent us a few dozen preview pictures already (it’s only been a week!) and they look positively STUNNING.

Gorgeous Photos, Fab Team

Maggie and Betty were such a delight to work with. They made us feel comfortable and supported throughout both our engagement session and during our wedding day. The engagement photos they took in DC about this time last year turned out so beautiful. The suggestion of Bishop's Garden was their idea and they didn't steer us wrong. We don't take a whole lot of photos ourselves, but Maggie and Betty were so encouraging and guided us through everything. As for the wedding day itself, they arrived early to scope out safe areas along the property in Culpeper to get the best shots without getting my dress/our shoes dirty. With the photos starting to come in they showed the joy and love captured that day. Their work is stunning and they're just some of the best people in general. We can't recommend them enough for engagements, weddings, or any other special moments you want captured.

Beautiful wedding photos from a wonderful team

Birds of a Feather was the perfect photographer for our Northern Virginia wedding! Maggie and Betty really took the time to get to know us and our style. My wife and I have never really been comfortable being photographed before, but they were so good at making us feel at ease and even feel confident on the most important day of our lives. The engagement photos turned out incredible, and we have received countless compliments on their artistry. The day of the wedding they were on top of things from the jump, and it was clear we were in capable hands at their direction. Maggie and Betty are absolutely incredible. This mother-daughter duo was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. They are warm, professional, and so easy to be around — they instantly made us feel comfortable and calm on such a big day.

The BEST wedding photographers!!

Maggie and Betty were an absolute dream to work with. One thing I didn’t realize when wedding planning is that your photographers are the people you spend the most of your wedding day with. From getting ready in the morning, to the ride to the church, the ceremony, our trip around DC, and the reception — Maggie and Betty were there for almost every moment. More than our friends and family. More than our bridal party. That’s not something we thought about when choosing our photographers, but somehow we got SO very lucky. The energy, positivity, attentiveness, and confidence they both brought to our day made our day magical.

The gallery they sent us with our final pictures was UNREAL. The emotion, the perspective, the framing, and the moments captured are just all perfect. As we were going through the pictures I kept gasping thinking that I’ve found my favorite picture only to see the next one and fall in love even more.

I cannot recommend Birds of a Feather enough!!

BEAUTIFUL photographs and an INCREDIBLE team - fun, patient, efficient, and thoughtful

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Maggie, Betty, and Maddie on our wedding day and in the weeks leading up to the big day. Maggie and Betty are communicative and made sure to touch base throughout the process to let us know they hadn’t forgotten about us - they are the most thoughtful team, sending us care packages in the months leading up to the wedding and also sending a wedding gift which was so unexpected, but so kind!

They were open to working with our wedding planner on the timeline to ensure that events were coordinated and aligned. When we needed to add an extra hour of coverage, they were incredibly flexible and accommodating in order to make sure all of our requested shots would be taken. They were with us from the early morning to get pictures of everyone getting ready, all the way until an hour before our reception ended to ensure dance floor shots! Maggie and Betty worked with us through two ceremonies on the same day and in different locations. We cannot emphasize how much fun they were to work with and how comfortable they made us feel during the photo shoots.

They got our photos to us in what seemed like record time! We got married in September and they had our photos for us well before the holiday season so we were able to share them with our family during the holidays! The gallery they provided us was so organized and when I noticed a photo missing, I reached out to ask about it and they responded so quickly to fix the small issue. My husband and I cannot recommend Birds of a Feather enough - they are knowledgeable and passionate about wedding photography which made it an absolute joy to work with them. Thank you Maggie and Betty!!

An absolute dream

Maggie and Betty exceeded our expectations as wedding photographers. They were beyond kind, so warm, and lovely to work with. I can not imagine our wedding day being captured by anyone else. Best Wedding Photographer!!

Betty and Maggie were so incredible! We feel beyond grateful to have them photograph our wedding. They captured our day so perfectly and we loved every photo. Not only did they take beautiful pictures, but they were the absolute best to work with. They were so supportive and kind throughout the whole day and which made us feel so much better about being in front of the camera. Betty and Maggy are so fun to be around and made it feel like our good friends were just hanging out with us all day taking pictures. A lot of our friends, some who aren't even engaged yet, have already told us they want Birds of Feather to photograph their wedding after seeing them at ours.

The best of the best!

We were so lucky to have Maggie and Betty as our photographers. Not only are our photos stunning, but they were amazing people to work with. Our engagement shoot had to be rescheduled multiple times due to weather, and they were very accommodating and helpful in suggesting alternative dates/locations for us. They were more than happy to include our dog in the engagement photos, and did a great job at photographing her as well. On our wedding day, Maggie and Betty were a joy to have around. They are calm, fun, and professional. They gave us great direction and made it easy for us behind the camera. We couldn’t have been happier. 100% recommend!

We cannot say enough kind words about Betty and Maggie. We used them for our engagement photos and our wedding. They found the perfect locations for us for our engagement photos and their encouragement and cues lead to an amazing portfolio of photos. For the wedding, they thoughtfully worked with us to design a timeline and a plan that allowed us to enjoy our wedding day and the resulting pictures are elegant and timeless. Betty and Maggie and the epitome of professional. From their planning to their execution to their amazing photos, we couldn't imagine going through the wedding experience with anyone else. Their experience in the DC area helped determine good locations for our first look and portraits. Despite some challenges like a changed date and venue and a very crowded Lincoln Memorial, everything went perfectly and they are the reason why! Cannot recommend enough!

Betty and Maggie were truly unbelievable on our wedding day and throughout the entire process. They're both incredible sweet and cool people (mom and daughter) and really felt like family who truly cared about making our wedding day a success. Throughout the entire process they were really fantastic. I planned our wedding by myself (ambitious I know) and they were super responsive to all my emails with questions, proposed timelines, etc. Maggie took the time to walk through my proposed day of timeline with me on quite a long phone call and pointed out considerations I hadn't thought of like timing of flowers, first look, importance of getting makeup done on time, and more. From the engagement shoot we knew right away that we picked the right team! My husband is not super into having his photo taken and they made him look like a natural and the pictures were gorgeous. By the time the wedding came he was well trained (HIGHLY recommend doing an engagement shoot!). On the day of the wedding, we felt like we were with in the absolute best hands. They kept the show running and orchestrated the first look amazingly. Can't say enough about how wonderful they were and how much fun I had doing couple's portraits! In terms of the actual photos we received, just look at their body of work, which speaks for itself. When I browsed their website and IG page I immediately fell in love with their style that captures the beauty of the day and all the wonderful emotions that come with it! They gave us a good amount of photos really quickly after the wedding (I think it was 1-2 days or sooner) which I wasn't even expecting, but so nice! When we got the full album back, I was so happy. The portraits were beyond stunning and we got a great mix of the atmosphere of the day and pictures of our family and friends too. I'm glad I invested in photography because these are pictures I'll look back on forever. I did A LOT of research on DC area photographers and just trust me when I say you will absolutely not regret booking with these wonderful ladies! They will make you feel so at ease during the day (worth its weight in gold) and you'll get amazing photos. I will think fondly of them forever :) Thank you SO much Maggie and Betty!

Fun mother-daughter team with flawless photos

Betty and Maggie are the perfect team to shoot any event in your life. I was nervous when we first met them for our engagement photos but they quickly put me and my fiancé at ease and the photos turned out better than I ever imagined they would. They were flexible and helped us come up with a rain plan the week of our wedding, completely calming any nerves I had about the possibility of thunder storms on our wedding day. They helped us create a timeline for the day of our wedding and did an amazing job of quickly getting every single shot we wanted. We stayed on schedule the entire day and were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We are absolutely thrilled that Betty and Maggie were our photographers and we could not recommend them more!

The BEST photographer that will make your wedding extra fun

Maggie and her team were such an awesome part of our big day! Despite the rain, they kept things super positive and fun and got the most AMAZING photos. Hate being in front of the camera? Not to worry because Maggie provides the simplest cues to make everything look so genuine and just flat out real. They captured all the best moments of the day and were so flexible and adaptable to the weather and venue. Not to mention that they worked extremely well with our videographer team and always communicated well. Overall, we are so thankful that we chose Birds of a Feather photography and we love that we get to relive our big day over and over again through their incredible photos.

Whatever is better than “best of the best…”

We found Maggie and Betty by first falling in love with photos from a wedding they had done previously. Their photos were romantic and soft, with a classic/classy feel that somehow captures both life and a memory all at the same time.

We had a one hour initial consultation with them, where we immediately discovered that the life and love they bring to their photos is mirrored perfectly by who they are as people, and how they live their lives. Maggie and Betty are full of energy, extraordinarily professional, more talented than almost anyone you will meet at their craft, and infinitely creative. Most good photographers have a creative eye, but the way Maggie and Betty work together to capture both the formal, posed photos… as well as the unstaged “life as it happens” photos is magical.

During our engagement shoot, which they added as a complementary addition to our package, we saw their talents firsthand. Neither my husband nor I consider ourselves to be very photogenic people. We love to smile, but that doesn’t always translate well into photographs. Somehow, Maggie and Betty captured the absolute best of us, together and individually, and also made us feel extraordinarily special. We just received our wedding photo album in the last week, as well. And they did it again— except somehow a million times better. They captured every single facet of our big day. And then some. Despite the stress and chaos you feel on your wedding, they figured out a way to capture every moment of beauty. Of joy. They captured the laughter, the hugs, the crazy facial expressions, the antics of our family kiddos, the dancing, and mostly… the memories we will look back on for a lifetime.

We cannot recommend Maggie and Betty more highly. If you are blessed enough to have them shoot your wedding, there is no world where you will find yourself unhappy with the results they create. Thank you, Maggie and Betty, for capturing the most important moments of our lives. We will certainly treasure them for the rest of ours. Lots of love!

Stunning Photos!

I did not have a backup photography team in place in case Betty and Maggie were not available because I knew I would change my date to make sure they could photograph my wedding! That is how confident I am in their abilities. Betty and Maggie are so easy to work with and make taking photos feel natural to someone who has never taken professional photos. They planned out the entire wedding shot list and made everything go so smoothly. The photos they took are absolutely breathtaking. You won't find a better photography team!

Book them asap

Words cannot describe how amazing these women are. They not only captured our day perfectly, but they made those formal portraits fly by. One of my fears was feeling like I was going to be taking pictures all day and missing my actual wedding. Not with Maggie and Betty. They help create a timeline/photo list to make sure you get the photos you want, but also enjoy your day. They felt like one of our guests and were efficient and so charming to be around. Several of my guests complimented how they loved our photographers and a few are even reaching out to book them for their upcoming wedding. If you want your formal portraits and candid moments captured these ladies are more than worth. We also got our full gallery in under two weeks. You would never know they are working crazy hours/are super busy because they are nothing but excited/positive to be around. They bring great energy and professionalism to your day. Wish we could have a wedding every year to keep hanging out them. I couldn't recommend them more.

There isn’t a better photographer duo out there! Betty and Maggie go out of their way to make their couples extremely comfortable. I do not have enough words to put together how amazing and talented these ladies are. My husband and I were blessed to work with them more than once! When we originally met with Betty and Maggie it was back in 2019, pre pandemic and we were planning a wedding on a tight timeline for 2020. We had met with other vendors however when we met with Betty and Maggie there was an instant connection. We knew working with these ladies was the right choice. They were ready to commit to whatever we needed making our day perfect! We did our engagement pictures in Alexandria, VA because we wanted something different for us and they were beautiful. The pandemic hit in March 2020 and we were supposed to get married October 3, 2020. Things changed and these ladies were so supportive and easy to work with, through all of our changes. We decided to do a micro wedding in August 2020 and push our big ceremony with family back to May 2021. Betty and Maggie showed up to our micro wedding just because they wanted too! They took all of our photographs and spent the day with us. It was so special to have them with us for each and every phase. Between all of our times together they have captured over 1000 photos for us to remember all these special moments for a lifetime. We are forever thankful to have these ladies in our lives. You won't find a better team

I don't have enough good words to describe how amazing Betty and Maggie are. Not only are they supremely talented photographers and editors, they are SO efficient and great at working with people. We had a tight timeline at our venue and they were able to squeeze in so many great photos in a variety of locations - they got all of our wedding party photos out of the way before the ceremony so that everyone could enjoy cocktail hour, and breezed through our family portrait session. They knew exactly what to say to get everyone to relax and enjoy the photo taking process, and the results are absolutely incredible!

This mother/daughter team is so sweet and genuine; you feel like you're a part of their family just by working with them. I have no doubt that we will be hiring them again in the future for portrait sessions, other special occasions, etc...

Best photographers ever!!!

If I could give these ladies more than 5 stars I would. They were exceptional in every way. I would recommend them to everyone!
They're a mother-daughter team that works perfectly together. They make sure to take photos of everything, not just the people, which I really appreciate. I worked hard on my decorations!
My wedding reception was delayed due to covid, so we asked if they were willing to take pictures of our mini ceremony instead of engagement photos (which we didn't need anyway). Not only did they agree, they were there for up to 2 hours taking photos for us. It really made our ceremony special, despite it being much smaller than we originally envisioned. Also, the pictures were stunning!
Last weekend we worked together again (nearly a year after the mini ceremony) for our big reception. I'm so thankful I was able to work with them again. They were so sweet, professional, and just an absolute joy to work with. I haven't received these pictures yet (it's only been a couple days, the delay is normal), but I can't wait to see them!!
One important benefit of hiring birds of a feather is they let you have all digital rights. This means I have digital copies of ALL pictures, and I can do whatever I want with them! I sent some to be printed at CVS to frame after the wedding. I also added them to our wedding website. If I want to, I could even make my own printed photo book! The possibilities are endless, but it's so nice to have this freedom.
Thank you so much Betty and Maggie for making both weddings so wonderful! Hiring you was one of the best decisions I made for my wedding!

The BEST Photographers. Look no further!

Look no further, this is the best photography duo you will ever find. My husband and I are so fortunate to have found Birds of a Feather photography. We originally worked with Betty and Maggie for our engagement shoot in 2019 and were blown away by the quality of their photographs and how effortless the whole shoot felt. We planned to get married in Hawaii in 2020, but COVID-19 had other plans. Instead, we ended up planning a June 2021 wedding in DC in a total venue switch. Once the venue had changed, the first thing we did was call Betty and Maggie to see if they'd be available for our wedding. They were (thankfully). My oh my, best decision we made! Betty and Maggie are so incredible. They made our big day SO special and effortless. As the daughter of a single mother, their mother-daughter dynamic is one that puts me instantly at ease. Their organizational skills made our wedding day feel so calm and collected. They planned exactly when, where, and how they would do each of their shots...taking the guessing game away! Their attitude put us at ease and made us feel comfortable. In the case of inclement weather, Maggie already had a plan B, C, and D...ensuring our day would be amazing regardless of mother nature. Their dynamic ensures that 1 photographer captures the traditional shot, while the other captures the 'candid' shot. The result = pure magic. Perfection in every way!

Betty & Maggie are not only incredibly talented photographers, but the most wonderful and kind human beings in the world! We formed a close connection with them from our first meeting and it honestly felt like we had known each other for years. We were both a little nervous about our engagement session (not sure if they knew that or not!) as neither of us have been photographed, but Betty & Maggie made us feel so comfortable and we ended up having a blast! They were always so responsive, knowledgable, and willing to help in any way they could. We also received a few care packages along the way which were so sweet. Even with all of the trials during a pandemic, our wedding day was nothing short of a fairytale. We are so grateful to Birds of a Feather for capturing so many beautiful moments from our special day. We absolutely cannot recommend them enough!

Betty and Maggie have become a part of our lives forever. We love you!

Wonderful photographers

My husband and I are not the kinds of people that feel comfortable in front of a camera. Maggie and Betty made us feel right at home and gave us the gift of GORGEOUS photos. They were responsive, friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgable. They thoroughly did their research and identified the areas, features, lighting, angles and poses that suited us best. If you're looking for a team you can fully trust to capture your special day, I can't recommend them enough.

Maggie & Betty made our day PERFECT!

There is no one that could have captured our day more exquisitely than Maggie and Betty of Birds of a Feather Photography. They were excellent from the start. I first met them a little over a year before our wedding. I wanted the best and I quickly realized that I had not only found that, but also kindred spirits. They explained to me every step of the process, from capturing the pictures all the way through editing.
Barry and I feel so blessed to have found them! We had never been photographed before and they made us so comfortable. From the engagement shoot all the way until the wedding day, I felt like we found such good friends!
On the day of our wedding I was so excited to see them. They talked me through different poses and took charge to make sure we got all the shots we wanted and then some. They came up with creative ideas too! I never would have thought about a red bicycle in a wedding photo but Maggie did and the pictures are TO DIE FOR!!! Barry and I felt like the most important and beautiful people on our wedding day thanks to Betty and Maggie. We can’t thank them enough for the amazing work they did.
Trust me, you will not find better photographers! Birds of a Feather are artists, book them before they're all booked up for the next 5 years!!

Great Photographers

Betty and Maggie were a wonderful team, and we have nothing but praise for them! They listened carefully to our preferences, knew what to ask, and most of all took beautiful photos. They arrived early the day of the wedding to scout out the venue, which led to great photos and also peace of mind for us. They are also very on top of logistics and helped corral guests for the family photos. On top of all that, they sent us a number of care packages along the way. You'll not be disappointed. Highly recommend Birds of a Feather Photography!

Betty and Maggie were more than we could have ever imagined! From our first meeting, we knew immediately we had to have them as our wedding photographers! They made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process. They were responsive to any questions we had, organized, and even arrived early on the wedding day to scope out shooting locations and get started taking detail photos. This mother-daughter duo works seamlessly together to make sure every moment is beautifully captured. We had our entire wedding gallery within 10 days of our wedding, and even got a sneak peak gallery the morning after our wedding. Having them as our photographers was honestly one of the best decisions we made, and we can't thank Maggie and Betty enough for capturing our day so perfectly!

THEE Best Photographers!

Betty and Maggie of Birds of a Feather are two amazing women who happen to be photographers...and damn good ones at that! Peter and I first met with the pair on a Sunday afternoon. What was supposed to be a 30 minute or so meet and greet ended up being an hour plus of us chatting as though we’d known each other for years! We knew right then and there that they were “our people”. We stopped halfway down the stairs from their office, walked back in, and signed the contract that day. We live in NJ, but got married in DC and they were beyond flexible with scheduling our engagement shoot in DC. On our wedding day, we literally could not have had a better experience with them. We gave them our schedule and they did the rest. We felt zero pressure to get pictures done, yet got every single shot we wanted. The other thing that we LOVED was that during the course of our day, hundreds of photos taken, we never once felt like we were having our picture taken. They blended into the background and our day felt like it was just us. And the final product? AMAZING!! I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to work with Betty and Maggie. They truly are the most genuine, kind, and talented individuals. Oh! Did I mention that this mother/daughter duo support charities and stand against social injustices?? Well they do! These two are truly awesome and we cannot wait to continue our relationship with them for years to come!

The best wedding photographer!

Photography was one of the things that was really important to us during wedding planning, since the photos of the day will last forever and allow you to relive it over and over again. Betty and Maggie were amazing and captured our day so perfectly. Similar to the bride below, Birds of a Feather was the only photographer we met with and we booked them immediately. I really wanted a more photojournalism style, with minimal posed photos, and really didn't like the overly blown out wedding photos I saw on a lot of sites. I felt like Maggie really got what we were looking for immediately in our first phone call. Their photos of our wedding are authentic and intimate and fun. From setting our entire day-of timeline before the wedding (a HUGE burden off my shoulders since we didn't have a planner) to being so calming when wedding day jitters inevitably set in, my husband and I couldn't have been happier. We also got comments from guests about how wonderful they were (seriously, have you ever been a guest at a wedding where you've even noticed the photographers? They are that good.) On the day of the wedding, my make up artist was running very behind schedule due to traffic. Before I even knew what was happening, Betty and Maggie had already talked to her and adjusted to make sure the whole day ran smoothly. On your wedding day, you do not want to be stressed about anything and must hire vendors you completely trust. Birds of a Feather was exactly that.

Amazing photographers --- look no further!

From the very first time we spoke with Betty on the phone, my husband and I knew that Birds of a Feather was the perfect duo to capture our very special day. Living in Miami and planning a small, intimate wedding within 6 months was a bit of a stress... but what we did not have to worry about was our photos. From the moment they arrived at the hotel to take our behind the scenes picture, Betty and Maggie were like ninjas! They had it all planned. They captured every detail and really worked around our space. They also reminded me that this was a day about us and to take it all in and just enjoy the moment. Some things didn't go as we planned, but we look back at it now and all we have are joyful memories filled with laughter. It was a very COLD ceremony with wind gusts so strong my veil almost fell off. However, Betty and Maggie did not let that get in the way and were on board with our requests... until my husband and I decided it was way too cold to continue being outside and just wanted to rush to the restaurant to enjoy the rest of the evening. All in all, we are beyond grateful and fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Maggie and Betty. Also, the turnaround time for the photos was spectacular! Nothing compared to what we hear about other companies that take months to deliver. The service these two deliver are second to none!!

In a League of Their Own

Betty and Maggie are in a league of their own. From the moment my husband and I sat down to meet with them I knew that we would have Birds of a Feather as our photographers. They took time to get to know us and what our vision for our day was and how photography fit into that vision. Our conversations with Birds of a Feather were always very helpful, even in areas other than photography.

It was very important to me to have two photographers who love what they do and could capture even the smallest details on our wedding day. With two photographers we were able to have pictures of both the bride and groom preparing for the ceremony. We also had a lot of photos from both perspectives walking down the aisle.

If you are in the market for great people to work with on your wedding day and amazing photos then Birds of a Feather is definitely the way to go!

Amazing mother daughter duo

When it comes to weddings the best advice I have ever been given is book the best photographer you can find.

When we started looking around for our photographer for our wedding, we found Betty and Maggie through a wonderful friend and loved their work and we knew Birds of a Feather were the best in the field. It was obvious from our first meeting that they knew exactly the type of photos we wanted. We completely trusted them with this important day and we were not disappointed. Most importantly we trusted them so much that we booked them before we even had our wedding date or venue picked out!

The photos are spectacular. I am thrilled to have these beautiful photos and I cannot recommend Birds of a Feather enough. This duos patience and understanding made our day less stressful and I could sit back and relax knowing that they were capturing all of the special moments.

Perfect Wedding photographers!!!!

Maggie and Betty are an exceptional mother daughter team of photographers. Our pictures from both our engagement session and our wedding day exceeded our expectations and captured the love and happiness we felt perfectly. We had a gloomy, cold and rainy wedding day, but our pictures make it look like the most picturesque fairy tale. These photographers are quick and know exactly what locations as well as poses, to make you look your best, to help you get amazing pictures and not miss any time of your big day! Maggie does an excellent job of making you feel comfortable and coaching you through slight adjustments to capture the most beautiful photos of your special moments. This team is always present, but never in the way of your reception. They will capture the best candid photos of you and your guests! In addition to the amazing photographs, Maggie and Betty also go above and beyond before the big day. They sit down with you an an initial meeting, are always available to talk through scheduling and even help remind you to focus on each other and enjoy the moments of your wedding day. They are extremely organized and make sure to capture every moment that you highlight as important to you. I would HIGHLY recommend Birds of a Feather to any couple, they are worth EVERY PENNY!!!!

Betty and Maggie are the most amazing photographers!

Birds of a Feather Photography was an absolute dream to work with! From the moment we contacted them, we knew that they were something special, and boy were we right! In the early stages of booking they were so responsive, knowledgeable and professional. Upon booking we received the most thoughtful welcome package, and in the months leading up to our wedding we received more gifts from them---what a nice touch! We had a beautiful engagement session and they were super flexible as we had to reschedule several times due to weather. As our wedding approached, Birds of a Feather helped us find the perfect place to shoot photos, helped with our day of timeline, and worked with us to get the necessary park permits. On the day of the wedding they visited the location ahead of time to scout out the best places to take photos---talk about going above and beyond! They showed up to meet us early and were SO delightful to work with throughout the day. They remained calm amongst the chaos that a wedding inevitably creates and wrangled our bridal party/family members to make sure that all the necessary photos were captured. Betty even had a boot on due to a foot injury, but bless her heart you would have never known! Like a true champ, she was running underneath my veil to flip it up in the air to create the perfect floating veil shot. Throughout the day they kept us laughing and periodically checked in with me to ensure that they were capturing everything I wanted. They got so many photos of our venue which was greatly appreciated, and even went around to some of our friends and family and took pictures of people sitting at their tables. I am so grateful to Birds of a Feather for capturing so many moments from our special day, some of which I never even knew about until I saw the photos. In addition to all the wonderful stuff I've noted, we received our full album (HUNDREDS of pictures) less than 2 weeks after our wedding, while we were on our honeymoon---talk about quick turn around! Booking Birds of a Feather was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made and we are SO grateful to have worked with them on our special day!

Here’s the truth…Betty and Maggie were the only wedding photographers I met with. Let me rephrase that – Betty and Maggie were the only wedding photographers that I NEEDED to meet with.

I fell in love instantly with their style, method, and delivery before I met them; but what happened after I finally did meet them will be forever engraved in my heart. As a mother/daughter team, they become part of your story. From the first meeting talking about wedding day details, how you want your day to be remembered, how you and your fiancé met, and small side conversations to make you leave feeling like you’ve known these incredibly sweet people your whole life – to the nervous because it’s probably your first time being professionally photographed yet very exciting engagement session – to the last crazy few months leading up to the wedding day – to the wedding day itself – they are with you.

We could not have asked for a more perfect team of photographers to have by our side to capture our big day. Betty and Maggie work seamlessly together; perhaps it's because they're a mother/daughter team, perhaps it's because they're just really stinkin' talented; whatever the case, they're perfect.

My husband does not like having his photo taken and he was very nervous before our engagement session so we opted for the extended session. On the ride home he could not stop raving about how comfortable he felt and how confident he was that we would end up with great photos (spoiler: he was right!).

I am so painfully Type A and anxiety-ridden and they always had answers for my crazy questions and "what if" scenarios. M&B were also extremely responsive and delivered our photos in record time (8 days after the wedding to be exact. We were AMAZED)! They're also very active on social media and their blog so you can get some sneak peeks ahead of time ;) .

Betty and Maggie, we can't thank you enough for capturing our wedding day so perfectly and beautifully. Thank you for being so brilliant, so talented, and being just overall wonderful human beings. Dan, Copper, and I love you!!

Betty and Maggie are absolutely positively amazing photographers and people! We met them at a wedding expo and instantly clicked. After contacting some cheaper photographers, we were disappointed, and decided to reach back out to BoaF, and we are so glad we did! Photography was VERY important to me and I knew that I could trust BoaF completely. Everything from the info session over cupcakes, to the engagement shoot in Old Town, to our wedding day was perfection. They were responsive, worked around our schedule, and we just vibed with them. On the wedding day, they reassured us that we were good with the timeline and took tons of photos in various locations. They climbed up hills, moved construction cones, and treaded through tall grass to get the perfect shot. They told us when I should fix my hair, or the groom should fix his pocket square, so the perfect photo was never ruined by something minor. They took so many amazing details shots, and our photos are light, bright, and totally wedding mag worthy! We got our full gallery of 600+ photos not even 2 weeks later!

Also, having two lead photographers is absolutely crucial. While Maggie shoots the bridal party during cocktail hour, Betty photographs details. I don't know how one photographer could capture everything they were able to! Just as a note to future brides, I would discuss what kinds of things you want captured that you don't see on their blog. For example, I wish we had more posed photos of us with our guests, a few photos of guests at cocktail hour, and some idiosyncratic details. We can't fault them for not photographing those things because we didn't point them out and our wedding was jam-packed as is, but good to discuss to make sure you get everything you wanted!

Thanks to Betty & Maggie for documenting our big day so beautifully! Friends and family cannot stop raving about the photos! I feel like I didn't just luck out and find the two best photographers in the DMV, I also made friends!

I cannot begin to express how much we enjoyed working with Maggie and Betty. I found Birds of a Feather Photography at a wedding expo. I won one of their door prizes and ended up chatting with them for 30 minutes. After speaking to them, I knew that they were the perfect fit for us. Our engagement photo shoot was in Georgetown and I like how Maggie would stand in the middle of the street in order to try to get a perfect shot. On the wedding morning, I was a little nervous because the girls and I were running a little late with getting ready. Maggie and Betty gave me a pep talk and reassured me that we had plenty of time. The wedding day was seamless and so easy. Maggie and Betty had a great system. Our wedding photos are absolutely stunning! They are so bright and beautiful. I love the photos of all of our guests too. Even my husband, who does not like to have his photo taken and does not usually like photographs of him, loves our wedding photos! I could go on forever about Birds of a Feather Photography!

We seriously cannot find enough synonyms in the dictionary to express how fantastic, wonderful, fabulous, amazing Betty and Maggie from Birds of a Feather Photography were before, during, and after our big day. We just happened to run into these two wonderful ladies at an otherwise unimpressive wedding show, chatted for a bit, put our name into a raffle, and took a look at their beautiful work and albums. That was it - we were sold already. We knew these wonderful ladies HAD to... I repeat... HAD to be the two to document one of the most important days of our lives. We felt comfort in them so quickly and were fortunate that they felt the same way about us. Engagement photos were equally as fun with them. They were accommodating in getting us in quickly so that we could get out our save the dates ASAP and provided us with a number of wonderful options as a venue for those photos. Fast forward almost a year (!!) and lots of email communication back and forth and Betty and Maggie showed up a head of schedule, kicked off their shoes, and got to work right away. Most of the time just fading into the background but always engaging and helping us dodge inside and outside to avoid a trickle that may turn into a downpour of a cloud. Maggie even jumped into the trunk of our SUV shuttle for me to get to the first look location on time! They are not afraid to tackle any kind of shot as long as you aren't either! Asking Birds of a Feather to be a part of our special day was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Their comforting and caring nature fit in perfectly with our goofy bridal party and family and helped us open up and feel at ease in front of the lens. Everyone has commented on how beautiful and vibrant our photos are and we are so happy with the outcome as well as the whole process. Betty and Maggie have become a part of our lives and we look forward to working with them to document any other upcoming milestones together. Thank you ladies!

Where can I even begin? From start to finish Betty and Maggie have been absolutely AMAZING! Considering both my husband and I have always been pretty awkward in front of a camera, we have never felt more comfortable having our pictures taken than with this dynamic duo. They have the BEST personalities and ever since we first met with them we've looked forward to every opportunity we've had to hang out with them. After getting both our engagement and our wedding albums back we have been blown away each time with just how amazing they look, the lighting, the colors, everything looks like it just came out of a magazine and we can hardly believe that it's actually us! I am so, very thankful that we found them and if I could give them a higher rating, I would in a heartbeat.

Betty and Maggie were incredible! They were patient in answering all of our questions, punctual at the engagement photo session and the wedding, and were so easy to work with. Being a photographer myself I had high expectations for them and they did not disappoint. They did an amazing job capturing our wedding and made the photo sessions fun, even in the hot sun. The pictures were all fantastic and we have received loads of compliments on them. The little packages we received from them along the way were a special surprise too.

Betty and Maggie truly have an artistic eye for photography - plus they are a pleasure to work with! I was a nervous wreck on my wedding day, Betty and Maggie showed up early and continually reassured me throughout the day - for that, I am extremely grateful! Although we only got married 11 days ago, we have a number of AMAZING photos! One of my bridesmaids was married on June 4th and still does not have one professional photo from her wedding - she was highly impressed when we had some great photos from our wedding only days later. Betty and Maggie's photos are beautiful and we have already received so many compliments. They were great at helping us relax, keeping us on schedule without being pushy, and already giving us some beautiful memories from our wedding day. Thank you BOAF!!

Personal, Professional, Perfect! :)
It is very clear through their photos that they are extremely talented photographers. The pictures speak for themselves. But what made Betty and Maggie a truly worthwhile investment was their personalities and attitudes that only enhanced our very special day. They were truly a positive presence in our day, not just an accessory. Their sense of reverence for the occasion is never lost on them and they take extra care to communicate this to you in their actions and words. This is why we would invest in their talent and friendship a hundred times over again!

We LOVED:
-Their style, they amazing staged photos but their candids were out of this world amazing. They captured moments.
-The Tips & Tricks on their wedding blog, they're wedding veterans and had incredible advice for couples as we planned our wedding
-Online Gallery for 10 yrs and FULL printing rights!
-Timeless, thoughtful black and white edits (those are my fav!) -Wedding timelines and pre-created shot list. They built the skeleton timeline for our day getting the right people at the right place at the right time.

I am having difficulty starting this review because every aspect of working with them was excellent. From their professionalism, dedication, and knowledge, there are not enough good things to say about them. Aside from their actual work, one of the best qualities about Betty and Maggie is they make you and your fiance a priority.

On our actual wedding day they went above and beyond what their job entailed. From Maggie helping me put my veil on, to Betty undoing my bustle, to helping everything run on time, they were great. My husband and I were blessed with an amazing wedding day and knowing that we get to relive it through Birds of a Feather's beautiful work, is the best gift of all. There are not enough words to thank them for everything they did for us.

These two ladies are going places and it is an absolute honor to say they captured our day. If you decide to book them, you will not be disappointed.

I can not say enough good things about these two ladies! Maggie and Betty were absolutely wonderful to work with. I knew they would be our photographers before we had set our wedding date or found a venue. I knew that wedding photography was going to be the biggest splurge item for our wedding, and I am so happy that we chose Birds of a Feather! Maggie and Betty are an awesome mother-daughter team, which means you get two amazing photographers! After working with them on our engagement pictures (which were included in the wedding photography package), I knew we made the right choice. They made sure that everything was "us"... and that really shows in all the photos! On our wedding day, my hair and make-up ran long, but they were very flexible and made it all work so that we could still manage to get in all of the photos of the first look, wedding party and family. It was also extremely windy on our wedding day, but the photos still turned out great! I also was very happy with all of the reception photos that they took, which we were not expecting. A sneak peak of our wedding was available on the blog just two days after the wedding! And I was blown away by that picture... I hardly recognized it was me and my wedding! More photos from our wedding were featured on the blog on "Wedding Wednesday" and all of our photos were available online before we even returned from our honeymoon (less than 2 weeks after our wedding!). The quality and timeliness of these two photographers can not be beat! They are professional, creative, friendly and really go the extra mile for their couples. I feel that we have gained two new friends after working with Betty and Maggie! You will not be disappointed in Birds of A Feather Photography!

Photography was one of my top priority items for our wedding. I had done a lot of research on various photographers in the area and after meeting with Betty and Maggie for our consultation, we knew right away that they were the right fit for us. Betty and Maggie are professional, down to earth, fun to work with, and above all are excellent photographers. Betty and Maggie make you feel comfortable and are experts on how to capture those perfect moments on film. Doing an engagement photo shoot really helped us get comfortable with being photographed and also allowed us to see what types of poses we liked best. I was highly impressed by both of them and am IN LOVE with all of our photos. Another great thing about Betty and Maggie is that they are flexible and focus on your priorities. For instance, I had certain locations and ideas in mind that I wanted for my wedding day photos. Betty and Maggie worked with me to get the shots I wanted while keeping their focus on the quality of the photos. Another great thing is that they are so organized, extremely responsive, and are lightning fast in getting your photos to you!!! It made my day to see the sneak peaks right after the wedding. Within a few days, we saw our photos on the blog and within 2 weeks we had all of our wedding photos in downloadable form! I cannot stress enough how beautiful the photos are. Every singly person has commented on how how amazing amazing they were and how gorgeous the photos are. Betty and Maggie were vital to keeping our wedding day on track and helped make the whole wedding day flow without any stress. Planning a wedding is an amazing, but also stressful time. Every bride wants to have all of the details perfectly planned and executed for her big day. From the beginning I knew that having the right photographer would be a top priority for my wedding because I've always had a passion for it. After seeing some of Birds of a Feather's work at a bridal show, I knew that they were just the talent I was looking for. I came to find out that Betty & Maggie were not only amazing at what they do, but they are also some of the coolest, sweetest people I've ever met. The two of them made me feel so comfortable and made everything just flow so smoothly. I knew that I could put my full confidence in them, and not worry about how our pictures would turn out. Boy was I right... our pictures were perfect! The icing on the cake was getting the finished product in record time. The opportunity to see our wedding pictures while still on our honeymoon was wonderful.

The experience my husband and I had with the Mother-Daughter photographing team for Birds of a Feather was in a word, phenomenal. We had meet with several other venders before meeting with Betty and Maggie, however, none of them had the charisma and excitement about our wedding like they had. They made us feel like family in our initial meeting and throughout the engagement photo session and wedding, we felt no stress. For the first engagement session it rained, and Betty and Maggie remained calm to me, a stressed bride-to-be, and rescheduled with no issues. The wedding day, it was on and off rain and my hair appointment was running late. Birds of a Feather helped me calm down and allowed me to have a fun time for the wedding photo shoots! Betty and Maggie truly care about the happiness a bride and groom feel together. They were a blessing to have them take our photographs and experience our wonderful wedding!

Betty and Maggie are not only the best photographers on the plant,but they are also the sweetest most caring women you will ever meet, Did I mention how freaking adorable they are? I knew I wanted them as my wedding photographers before I even started dating my husband. As a matter of fact we pretty much planned our wedding date around them. We received our first sneak peak less then 24 hours after our wedding, Just that one picture alone was so breathtaking that we couldn't wait to see more, There was blog up within 4 day and we were able to view all of our pictures within 2 week. These ladies don't waste anytime, They WORK so hard to get everything to you as fast as possible. B&M literally captured every moment and didn't miss a single thing. Our pictures were AMAZING. They couldn't have been any better. I have had people I don't even know come to me and tell me they saw my wedding on the blog and they couldn't get over how amazing the photography was. These ladies are both so hardworking and dedicated and they are worth ever single penny. They felt like family the entire day. If I could give them 1 million stars i would .. I don't quite know where to begin, but let me try: Betty and Maggie are AMAZING. And when I say amazing, I mean they are not only fantastic photographers, but truly lovely people, and I cannot recommend them more highly to anyone considering using them for any photographic needs; especially their wedding! They were such a joy to work with from the very beginning; always professional, but personal, and the quality of their work is editorial and just outstanding. The engagement photo shoot went so smoothly, and it was really helpful to my husband and I to get to know what to expect. As always, Betty and Maggie made everything easy and fun. In the days leading up to the wedding, they provided suggestions that were incredibly helpful in understanding how to best run our day and pictures effectively. The day of the wedding, they were not only punctual, but again, just SO lovely to have around. They captured the day in a way that has left my husband, family, friends, and I speechless (seriously...everyone is just STUNNED by how gorgeous our photos came out!), and we could not be happier. Lastly, Betty and Maggie are ALSO incredibly quick workers: we received a link to their blog, highlighting some of our wedding photos within a week after our wedding, and then within a month, received the flash drives (along with a special little gift--did I mentioned they like to make and send super adorable and thoughtful gifts btw??). When Jordan and I started wedding planning a year and a half ago, we knew one of the things we did not want to settle on was photography. We looked at numerous websites for local photographers and happened upon Betty and Maggie. I still remember the exact picture on their website that really sold me. But we still needed to meet them and make sure it was a good fit. The only problem was that Jordan and I live in Michigan and couldn't get home easily. No problem! Betty and Maggie were willing to "meet" us over Skype. We had a great conversation with them and really connected with their view of their role - to document our story. We left that Skype meeting feeling so excited to work with them and so happy that they understood the type of photos we wanted to capture our day. We caught up with them a few months later for our engagement session. Again, they were super flexible in working with our schedules as we were not back in Maryland often. And when our plans for our location were ruined by March snow, they picked a new location that had just the vibe we were looking for. Our pictures turned out great and we owe it to them for how comfortable they made us feel and the direction they provided. The day of the wedding, they arrived early at my venue and took the most beautiful detail pics of my decor and flowers. I love the candids of my girls and I getting ready and laughing together. Jordan and I did not do a "first look." We were worried about how it would affect our pictures of just us, given our time constraints...but Betty and Maggie were so organized and (literally) beat the sunset to get us everything we wanted! And we had an online version of our photos less than ONE WEEK after our wedding! I could go on and on but I am running out of space! They were our friends, our wedding planners, and our photographers all in one. We cannot imagine not choosing them and will forever be grateful for the memories they captured.

Where to even begin reviewing the lovely Maggie and Betty of Birds of a Feather Photography?! First, and most importantly, Betty and Maggie (or B&M affectionaltely) are wonderful ladies, which made working with them throughout our engagement and wedding an absolute joy! B&M have found the rare balance of running a successful and organized business while maintaining their sincere kindness and warmth. From our first meeting, my now-husband and I were immediately impressed with the business B&M have built and their simply awesome photography skills. Every step of the way, B&M were reliable, dependable, patient and incredibly fun to work with. By the end of our engagement session we felt comfortable around B&M--just like we were hanging out with sweet friends! That comfort level was priceless on the wedding day--the whole time we felt like we were in the best of hands. Having received our engagement photos and our wedding photos--we are 100% sure that we made the perfect choice and we love, love, love our pictures!
B&M were great at giving us guidance with posing and making us feel comfortable so that we could have photos of us in a naturally happy state. B&M captured the sweetest moments of our wedding day. They have the natural ability to anticipate a candid, special picture and capture it! Also, I feel it is imperative to point out that Maggie took our engagement photos on a cloudy and cold afternoon while she was 8 months pregnant--that really captures her awesomeness in a nutshell.

At the wedding, B&M were unobtrusive and our guests loved them!

B&M are absolutely worth the $$! Also, we found their prices to be very reasonable. We NEVER felt like B&M were trying to get us to spend more than we were comfortable with, and we were able to speak freely and easily with them about our budget. They were extremely open to what we wanted to spend and they helped us brainstorm as to how we could get the photos we wanted for the price we wanted to spend.

Booking Birds of a Feather as my photographers was the very best decision I made for my wedding. Maggie and Betty immediately make you feel comfortable with being photographed. They are the nicest, most down to earth people. I am so blessed to consider them more than a 'vendor,' but a friend. With all that being said, my favorite thing about them, the most important reason to book them, is the work that they produce. Their photos truly speak for themselves. I had followed their blog for quite some time before meeting them in person at a Bridal Show. The way they present themselves online and in person made me certain that they were my kind of people. They are both incredibly organized, responsive to emails and questions, and downright talented.

I had a sneak peak wedding picture the very next day, and about 90 pictures to preview by the Wednesday after my wedding. In a little over a week I had the entirety of my wedding photos presented in a user-friendly, downloadable, shareable gallery. And the photos are BEAUTIFUL. What more could you ask for?

I placed a lot of importance on my wedding photos and I'm so glad to have found photographers that exceeded my expectations. Birds of a Feather will not disappoint!!!

Seriously, these two are awesome! Betty and Maggie were amazingly helpful the entire day, and made sure we never got too stressed. They are so much fun, and take amazing photos! I received more compliments on my photographers than on any other vendor at my wedding. They were truly a pleasure to work with, and I could not be more happy with their service. You will not be disappointed when you meet Maggie and Betty! I originally saw their work online and then had the pleasure of meeting them at a bridal expo. These ladies are amazing! Their photos are stunning! After meeting with them I decided we had to have them as our wedding photographers. I liked how there are packages to choose from and the fact that you are getting two photographers. You can't get any better than a mother daughter combo! They are quick to respond to emails and will answer any questions you have. From the engagement session to the wedding day, Maggie and Betty are on time and ready to go. They make having your photo taken fun. You won't have to force a smile with these two! I like that they get to know you and your partner. Maggie and Betty become a part of the family. On our wedding day we laughed and joked and had a great time! Another awesome fact is that your pictures get delivered to you rather quickly and in a neat package that has a gift. At one point we had a free movie rental pass and some candy delivered to us which was much needed. How thoughtful is that? My husband Justin and I got married a little over three months ago. We have not written a review before now because it is hard to put into words exactly how we feel, but here it goes! We met Betty and Maggie at another local wedding and you could say it was friends at first sight. Within a few days of getting engaged, we emailed them and met with them the next Sunday in their office (where they provided donuts, water and coffee…perfect!) After a few minutes of them talking we found two things very apparent; they didn’t need to “sell" their product; their impeccable products spoke for themselves and 2) they are two of the most genuine people we had ever met. A few months later, we had our engagement shoot. We were a little nervous. We are comfortable around each other, just not with the camera. That anxiety was quickly gone and the photos showed that. Can I also say, how amazing it was that we received a sneak peak the day after and received the cutest USB drive with ALL of the engagement pictures?! We also received sweet gifts along the way to show us they were thinking about us. The week of our wedding, we received an email from them easing our worries about how the day would go. The day of the wedding, they showed up to the bridal suite early and ready to work! We are not normally people who like to be the center of attention, but by having them there, we were instantly comfortable. They were able to capture the love that Justin and I have for each other and the celebration that went along with it and those are memories that we get to keep forever. We had our PASS gallery within five days of the wedding, which is incredible! Their package pricing was very affordable, but the products that we received and the friends we made along the way are absolutely priceless! Choosing Birds of a Feather Photography was one of the smartest decisions we could have made. I refuse to call them a wedding "vendor"; they are friends!

We just got married a week and a half ago and Betty and Maggie were absolutely wonderful. From the moment I met them I just had a feeling about them - a mother/daughter team - they are so sweet and thoughtful. After meeting them at wedding fair I set up a call and just from speaking to them on the phone it was enough to get us onboard!

My husband and I were both extremely reluctant to take engagement photos - it wasn't something we wanted or thought we needed - but once Betty and Maggie explained that part of the reason engagement photos are included in their packages is because it allows the couple to get comfortable with them, before you spend your entire wedding day with them, it really made sense to us. While we were apprehensive, Maggie and Betty totally put us both at ease during the session. Our photos were at the Lincoln Memorial and in front of the reflecting pool and they were AMAZING. My husband and I had a great time and actually started to feel comfortable in front of a camera - and we knew we were in good hands.

As for the wedding, the photos are beautiful - my bridesmaids all commented on how lovely and talented Betty and Maggie were after seeing initial shots. We couldn't be happier with our choice to go with them and would recommend them to anyone else!

Where do I begin!?!

From the moment we met with Maggie and Betty for our consultation, we knew we wanted to work with them. You can't ask for two sweeter, more personable, funny, genuine people to work with on your big day. We knew that we would spend a lot of time with our photographers on our special day, and wanted to be in good company. We didn't even bother looking at any other photographers once we had the pleasure of meeting them.
Of course, their work is gorgeous. We saw the wedding albums during our consultation, which so beautifully showcase their work, and knew we wanted that for our day. And the value?!! For two awesome people and beautiful images - it cannot be beat.
During the whole wedding planning process, any question I had I felt comfortable asking. I would get the most thorough answers ever...and so fast considering everything they have going on at any given time. I appreciate that. I'm a bride who, above all, valued communication, and Maggie and Betty thrive in this department as well.
Everything we ever got from them was so thoughtful - from our thumb drive with our engagement shoot pics to the "care package" they sent us as the wedding was approaching to help us relax! They knew we would be stressed and it arrived in such perfect time. Who does that?!! They went above and beyond all along.
On the wedding day, it was so wonderful to spend it with people we love. They made it fun, relaxed, but all along were professional and so extremely organized and punctual. We got our photos just after arriving from our honeymoon - which is no time at all! This is another fantastic perk of doing business with them - they give you a beautiful product but it doesn't take them forever.

I can't say enough how highly I recommend Birds of a Feather. They are just simply the best, and you will be so happy you worked with them. We could not have picked a better pair. Thanks so much ladies - we can't thank you enough!

We have nothing but positive things to say about Birds of a Feather photography. They went above and beyond all of our expectations. They're not just wedding photographers but family wranglers, schedule keepers, advice dispensers, artists and friends. They were an absolute joy to be around and we were genuinely disappointed at the end of the night when it was time for them to leave!

On top of all of that our photos are absolutely beautiful and we received them less than a week after the wedding. They have an innate ability to make every photo - posed, detail or candid - look polished, stunning and natural. They even went above and beyond and had some professionally photo-shopped for us when there were rogue tourists and photo-bombers in the background. We are constantly receiving compliments on our photos and inquires about who took them.

Photography was a huge priority for us on our wedding day and we are still overwhelmed with how amazing of a job Maggie & Betty did. We couldn't recommend Birds of a Feather enough!

Where do I start with Bird's of Feather? From the beginning they were so fun and amazing to work with! This mother and daughter team makes you feel right at home! I felt like we had known each other for years! They are so fun and professional. Their photos are simply amazing! There was not one photo I could make a complaint about! My husband and I highly recommend this team! Having two photographers is huge plus! They were able to capture every moment from a different perspectives. Maggie and Betty were a huge joy to work with! The turn around time on our photos was extremely fast. We were able to see a sneak peak of our photos within 4 days! We received our full digital gallery in about a week which was spectacular. Another plus is the engagement session, this allowed them to get to know us and see what kind of instruction we needed for good photos. I seriously cannot recommend these ladies enough! Selecting Betty and Maggie and the whole Birds of a Feather team as our wedding photographers was the best decision we could have ever made. Not only are we left with a GORGEOUS gallery of images from our wedding day, but we feel like we've extend our family that much more to include these wonderful women.

They are more than just photographers; they worked to capture our wedding in the most beautiful, natural way possible, while working double-time to make sure the day, as a whole, is perfect. Whether it was making sure my veil didn't fly off in the wind, getting under the veil with us for a spectacular shot, offering up their own jackets, or just telling us that we have time and to relax, they were such a blessing to have around to remind us to just enjoy the day and all that was happening. They were invested in us as our photographers and as a couple 10,000 percent, and this was directly reflected in the beautiful pictures we received.

Everything we wanted photographed was delivered better than we could have ever expected (fast, professional, and beautiful). And with their keen eye and amazing attention to detail there were photos beyond what we even asked for. Having shot together for so long, and being the wonder mother-daughter team that they are, Betty and Maggie complement each other in every way both in terms of personality and their shooting styles, and your left with a gallery full of amazing pictures, as well as a wedding day that is pure perfection.

We can’t thank Maggie and Betty for providing us with beautifully captured memories of our day – both in terms of the photos and the overall experience with them – which we will treasure for a lifetime.

Well here it is…I kept putting off this review because I could not find the right words to say how wonderful and amazing Maggie and Betty are. From the moment we met we knew they were the ones who would capture our special day. We booked them before we had anything else arranged, that’s how much we liked them. During our engagement session they made us feel so comfortable, we had many laughs throughout the day. Weeks leading up to our big day they would check up on us to see how we were doing and even sent us a care package. When the big day finally came they did an amazing job, they were professional but also fit in just like they were on the guest list. We got our photos very quickly after the wedding and let me tell you our family members thought the photos looked like they came straight out of a magazine! These ladies know what they’re doing and they do it well. They are more than just photographers they’re family.

Choosing Birds of a Feather Photography to photograph our wedding day was one of the best decisions we could have made. Maggie and Betty are not only amazingly talented but they are also just so fun to be around. I cried happy tears all throughout my wedding day and then more happy tears when I saw our wedding pictures from Birds of a Feather Photography for the first time. For a picture to evoke the same level of raw emotion that you felt on your wedding day is really something special and shows just how incredible Maggie and Betty are at what they do. Our wedding pictures were all so well done in terms of composition, light, quality, etc. and the pictures were ready so fast! Maggie and Betty are SO helpful and awesome when it comes to making sure you have a great wedding. At one point I was wearing Maggie’s coat and at another point Betty was re-tying the double bow on the back of my wedding dress before I walked down the aisle. Maggie and Betty were so easy to work with. Everything we wanted photographed they made happen, including a short pit stop between the ceremony and reception along the river where they took the most gorgeous bride and groom pictures we could ever ask for. These ladies are not only invested in making sure you have the perfect pictures but are also invested in making sure you have the perfect day. We can’t thank Maggie and Betty enough for being part of our wedding. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, look no further because these two are simply the best!

These wonderful and talented ladies provided photography for my engagement session and wedding on 09/27/2014. If I had the room, I would list out all of the adjectives known in the dictionary that would in totality mean that these ladies provide the most awesomeist wedding photography ever. I knew photography was one of my most important elements for my wedding and I scoured over all the available dc wedding planning sites and reviewed every single photography vendor listed, yes I reviewed 100's, and Birds of a Feather Photography was my top choice because:
a. The clarity, quality, and variety of shots were amazing and clearly done by experienced professionals. The photos came across as very natural and in the moment, which is how I wanted my wedding to be captured.
b. They offer 2 photographers, this means we would could get two different photos from two different views at once! And they are a mother/daughter team, how more insynch could your photography team get than that!
c. Extremely competitive prices and plenty of package options! You will get the best bang for your buck with these ladies!
b. Prompt response time and professional communication. They always responded to my emails promptly and had an answer for every question every time.
Based on these factors, Birds of a Feather was the first and only photography vendor we met with in-person. Beyond producing great photos, you want to choose someone you don't mind spending several hours with on your wedding day. We found Betty and Maggie to be very welcoming and funny, and we were immediately sold. We hired them the same day on our way back home! Fast forward to my wedding day~ they assisted in planning a detailed day of photography timeline, managed unplanned delays calmy, and produced a beautiful set of photos, I mean every single picture was beautiful, EVERY SINGLE ONE! I would go on, but I am running out of space. Stop looking, hire them today, you wont regret it!

Where to begin... From the first time I met Betty and Maggie at a bridal show, I knew these two were special. When my fiance and I met with them in their office, we felt an instant connection. These two have a way of putting you at ease, both in the planning process and in front of the camera.

Photography was really important to me for our wedding. Given how late in the year our wedding was and the fact that our ceremony and reception were at different locations, I was concerned about finding the time and locations to fit in pictures before the sun went down. Betty and Maggie worked with us to come up with the perfect timeline and kept us on schedule so everything went smoothly on our wedding day. We were even able to finish pictures with enough time to enjoy most of our cocktail hour!

The quality of their photos and services is amazing and the turn-around time is unbelievable. We received a link to an online gallery with ALL of our pictures less than one week after our wedding! It was so special to be able to look through our pictures on our honeymoon and relive some of our favorite memories from the day. As an added benefit, their online gallery allows all of our friends and family to download the pictures for themselves!

Choosing to hire Betty and Maggie was honestly the best decision we made for our wedding! Our day was everything we imagined it would be and more and these two did an amazing job at capturing it in their images so we will be able to cherish and remember those moments for the rest of our lives.

I'm going to be sitting here staring at the computer screen for awhile before I can figure out what to write because there's just so many awesome things to say. So I'm just going to start typing...

Photography was a priority for my wedding day. I wanted to find a photographer who was experienced, could capture those awesome candid moments as well take creative gorgeous portraits, and who I vibed with.

It's impossible not to vibe with Maggie and Betty. It's impossible not to have a wonderful experience working with these two. My experience was amazing and my friends are probably getting tired of hearing about how much I love Birds of a Feather Photography.

A few adjectives to describe these photographers: organized, friendly, invested, timely (EXTREMELY TIMELY...who gets their wedding photos back in a week?), hard-working, caring, thoughtful, and THEY LOVE WHAT THEY DO and happen to be amazing at it.

I can't put into words how great a feeling it is to choose photographers that you can just.. completely entrust to capture the feelings and memories of your wedding day, no worries or second guesses. We felt as though Betty and Maggie helped guide the day along perfectly, and they also had an assistant there to fill any gaps. Maggie, by the way, is like 6 months pregnant and that did not matter one bit, she orchestrated everything and everyone like the pro she is. Maybe its the mother-daughter duo, but they were the perfect mixture of warm-hearted and job oriented. Just what you need when its raining on your (outdoor) wedding day - don't worry, the rain stopped just in time!

The pictures themselves were just absolutely amazing. Perfect tone, lighting, focus.. they literally speak for themselves. The photos captured both the little and big moments and really got the feeling of the day.

BOFP showed some (many) of the photos on their blog within a couple days of the wedding and we were given our pass account within a week. This pass account has a ridiculous amount of photos documenting each part of the day, which we can share with family and friends and download as many pictures as we want, free of charge.

I really feel as though we "got our money's worth" and then some. Everything that Betty and Maggie does is high quality and delivered with care and thought.

Where do I start? (I certainly don't think I have the words to do these ladies justice, but here goes.)

Betty and Maggie are pretty much the kindest, awesomest, best people I've ever had the pleasure to meet, let alone the most talented photographers I've ever seen.

Our journey with them has been nothing short of a fairy tale. We frantically reached out to them two-ish years ago after falling in love with their blog and seeing they said they only had three dates left for 2014! Fortunately, one of those dates was ours. We knew right then it was kismet.

After our first meeting in their new studio we were completely in love. Betty and Maggie are adorable, and they totally got what we were looking for in our photographs. Over the next year or so they were so easy to work with and were super responsive to all the stupid questions we had about the process.

On the day of it was like having another set of best friends around. They arrived and help put me at ease, and I let them have free rein over what they wanted to do. They helped keep everyone relaxed, kept me from freaking out, even got people out of my hair before the ceremony that I didn't want near me! And poor Betty had to put up with the crazy groomsmen...she handled their shenanigans like a champ.

Betty and Maggie are amazing.

Oh yeah, they also took PHENOMENAL pictures. We received them the Thursday after the wedding! That kind of turnaround is unheard of. Their kind words about our day had me in (happy!) tears as I looked at our photos. I usually hate all pictures of myself, but these are, like, art. I can't believe how incredibly awesome these photos are.

If you want photographers that not only do amazingly high quality work and will become part of your family, these are the ladies you're looking for. I wish I could hang out with them all the time! I've gushed enough here, but seriously, look no further. These are the photographers you're looking for.

When my husband and I set out to look for a photographer, we set up a meeting with Birds of a Feather. We immediately fell for Maggie and Betty. My husband was so sick and Betty kept giving him tissues during our first meeting.

Fast forward a few months and we did our engagement shoot. It was nearly 95 degrees and somehow in our photos we don't even look sweaty. They came out amazing.

Then flash forward one year later and it was our wedding day. Again another lovely 95 degree day. Maggie and Betty really understood what our wedding was supposed to be about. We wanted to spend as much time as possible with our friends and family at the party we had been planning for months.

Not only did they capture every aspect of the wedding that we wanted, their pictures truly captured the essence of our celebration.

We all suffered through the heat and the rain and it was an amazing experience. We've never been a couple that enjoyed having their photograph taken but we could not have ended up with a better team if photographers.

Oh and to top it all off, we got married on a Saturday, and on Thursday-during our honeymoon-we got to look at our pictures. What a fantastic experience!!!!

Betty and Maggie are the best photographers out there! I still till this day remember exactly how my husband and I met them. They welcomed us with open arms and such happiness and joy. They were so easy to talk to and communicate with, and answered every and any questions we had. We met a lot of photographers in the wedding planning timeline, but no one really stuck to us and gave us that warm feeling and bond like Betty and Maggie did. The picutres they had for display amazed me and just felt so natural and elegant. We couldnt wait to sign our contract with them for our wedding asap! We did our engagement picutres with them, and we had so much fun with them. It felt as if we were hanging out with friends, which was a great feeling to have with your photographers! We couldnt wait to see our pictures, I think we stalked their facebook page constantly waiting to see a sneak-peek of them! They were done so quickly! We loved every single picture taken. When it came time for the wedding, they communicated with you about the timeline of how things are going to go on the wedding day and suggest some ideas. Anything you asked or wanted, they were there! Anytime you needed them there, they would show up 15-20 mins earlier than expected. Totally over and beyond what you wanted! Our wedding day went so smoothly and perfect, especially with their help. They took several pictures and its nice to look back and know they didnt miss a thing! I know I was stressing about last minute things, but they were there always emailing back so quickly and answered anything I needed help on. We can re-live our wedding throughout their pictures. They were so perfect.My husband and I absolutely, hands down know for a fact they definately put up some competition with the other photographers in the area! I could not have asked for anyone better to capture our big day. I would always recommend these two perfect photographers to anyone! If you dont get them, you are missing out!

We absolutely loved our experience with Birds of a Feather Photography! We cannot imagine having better wedding photos, not to mention the end result of our relaxed and fun engagement shoot.

But perhaps the best part of working with Betty and Maggie is that it's not just about the final product, it's also about enjoying the time you spend with them. These two really take the time to get to know you and ultimately become more like trusted friends than photographers. Though neither of us particularly like being the center of attention, we found ourselves being so comfortable around Betty and Maggie, and the proof is in the great photos they were able to capture.

They say that birds of a feather flock together, and it sure seems that this mother-daughter team enjoys practicing their art in one another's company. After our initial meeting and early into our engagement photo shoot, we felt like we were part of that family too. Though neither of us would have imagined this scenario when we were deciding on photographers, we were able to let our guard down because Betty and Maggie put us at ease and never felt intrusive with their process. You get the sense that they really captured who we are as a couple.

We continue to get compliments on our pictures and really feel lucky that Birds of a Feather was there for our wedding - and along the way, too. Their pictures will be framed and part of photo books that we cherish in our home and give as gifts to family members. From getting ready with our bridesmaids and groomsmen, to the ceremony, more formal shots, and the reception - all the photos are phenomenal!

We couldn't give Betty and Maggie higher praise and enthusiastically recommend them to anyone who is looking for a wedding photographer in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area!

From the first time we met Betty and Maggie through our wedding date and after, Birds of a Feather remain one of our best investments for our wedding. Our engagement session and wedding photos surpassed our expectations. Not only did we receive the pictures within a week of the date, but the photos were stunning! Betty and Maggie are two of the kindest people we have met, and have amazing stamina as well (we had two wedding ceremonies in one day)! Absolutely unbelievable. It is hard to even put into words how much I love these two amazing ladies and their incredible work! Throughout the entire wedding planning process they were there for words of advice and help. They always responded quickly to my questions and concerns and were a great support for the months leading up. The wedding day they put me at ease, and I knew I was going to end up with wonderful photos. Only a few days later they had a blog post up with photos and less than a week I had my whole wedding photo album back. How do they do it!? I have friends who were married months ago and still don't have their photos. And I am beyond in love with all the photos. Working with Maggie and Betty is like a two for one, you get two lead photographers who are both impeccable in their work. I couldn't have made a better decision by hiring these women. I really cannot say enough great thing about Betty and Maggie. We were on a tight budget but everyone kept telling me not to cut the photography budget and I am so glad I didn't. They are worth every penny of it and since the photos are the only things you really get to keep after the day is over it is probably the best call I made during the wedding planning. These ladies do a phenomenal job as far as the actual photography goes, but it is everything else that really sets them apart. They are flexible with schedules, and really try to make sure that you get the pictures YOU want, not just what they want to take. I love that my wedding pictures really reflect our wedding and the wedding party. I actually think their pictures made the wedding look prettier then it really was!
Betty and Maggie also work quickly- they respond to emails right away and the turn around time on the pictures was amazing. We had the pictures back before we were even back from the honeymoon! They were friendly and relaxed the entire time but still made sure we stayed on schedule for the photos. Overall I was thrilled with their work and they made the whole wedding experience even better. I love looking back through the photos and reliving the day. I 100% recommend them for your wedding.

We had such a wonderful experience with Betty and Maggie! They were extremely helpful every step of the way. From accommodating our long distance wedding planning, to dodging a monsoon on the day of our engagement shoot, and every little question we had through the wedding day, they were incredibly flexible and gave us guidance throughout the entire process. Birds of a Feather Photography exceeded every expectation we had for our daughter's wedding. From the moment we met Betty and Maggie, we knew they were special and offered a unique service. From the first email, Betty and Maggie were all in. Betty wrote back immediately to my first contact with a warmth and enthusiasm that they both kept up from start to finish. I really felt like they were committed to our wedding and really shared our vision, especially the focus on our families.

From the conversations with my mom in their adorable studio to the many emails that went back and forth, all the way through the engagement shoot and the big day--it felt like we had 2 more friends and family members joining in (only they were taking amazing pictures the whole time!)

They helped me get in my dress, they helped herd my relatives around, they even backed off an aggressive group of church gardeners, and we were smiling and laughing so much we didn't notice them clicking away getting the most special shots of the people we love so much.

I absolutely treasure every beautiful photograph they took. Which, by the way, they had for us available online and on their way to us via mail less than a week after the wedding!

We are so grateful to Maggie and Betty and really feel like we made new friends out of the whole deal. Oh! I won't spoil the other surprises for any new birds out there, but they also sent us very touching, timely, and thoughtful goodies in the months leading up to the wedding.

We really can't thank Betty and Maggie enough for the absolutely stunning pictures and all the fun we had together.

Betty and Maggie blew me away with the services provided. I never had to worry about any of the details. They quickly responded to every email. Throughout the whole planning process, Birds of a Feather new exactly the questions to ask in order to perfectly plan the wedding day timeline. As two people who had never been married before and hadn't attended many weddings, we had a lot of questions about how the usual flow worked and how everything would come together. Betty and Maggie spent the time to reassure us and assist us with planning. They went over and above to help us stay calm and comfortable during the planning process. We even received and free movie night voucher with popcorn, candy, and sweet note. Ultimately, on the wedding day, Betty and Maggie were amazing. Everything was done on a schedule. There was a plan and a order and I never felt rushed or crazy even though there was so much to get done. They took so many pictures behind the scenes. They were so professional and at they same time they felt like friends. Every single picture I could've hoped to have was taken. Even the ones I would have never thought of. In less than a week after the wedding I had an email telling me all of our pictures were ready!!! I'm talking over 600 pictures!! We arrived home from our honeymoon to a box from Birds of a Feather already! The quality of the pictures is absolutely amazing! I've never felt so beautiful! For the price you pay on photographers nowadays the packages that Birds of a Feather offers are extremely reasonable and I can promise you what you get for your money is more than worth it. I would recommend Birds of a Feather Photography to everyone in the DC area.

Betty and Maggie of BOAF photography have been a pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process. During both our engagement session and "posed" wedding photos they made us and our family/friends feel very comfortable. My husband hates having his picture taken and even he didn't mind being photographed by M&B! We felt very well taken care of by them. Throughout our wedding ceremony several guests came to us to say how much they enjoyed our photographers!

After all was said and done, I anticipated to receive our photos maybe 3 weeks after the wedding, not 5 days! I gasped when I got that e-mail out of sheer excitement and surprise! On top of being fast, the photos came out beautifully! When it came time to choose our album photos we struggled with what photos to choose as there were so many wonderful/beautiful/hilarious shots! I thoroughly look forward to seeing these photos in print soon and I am sure I won't be disappointed!

Betty and Maggie are the absolute best! As soon as I saw their work, I was so anxious hoping they would be available for our wedding. After meeting them for the first time, I felt completely comfortable and at ease knowing they would fit in perfectly with our families and friends!

Betty and Maggie were so sweet during the months leading up to our wedding, they are very responsive and its clear they really care about their clients. They were super helpful in determining locations for our engagement shoot and were so enthusiastic when we wanted to include our dog!

They worked seamlessly with our wedding planner in figuring out our day-of schedule and took extra time to scope out locations at our hotel and ceremony venue as they hadn't worked there before. On the day of the wedding, they were instrumental in calming down the anxious and excited groom and were always in the right place at the right time!

Most amazingly, we had our photos (all 700!) back before we returned from the honeymoon, I don't know if they even slept for a week! My husband and I spent hours going through the photos one by one, it is such a gift to have our most treasured moments captured so beautifully by Betty and Maggie! They took our breath away!

Having photos on a flash drive AND website to share with family and friends is perfect, and we've been able to share the link to their blog for friends and colleagues who just want to see the highlights. Overall, I can't say enough how wonderful it was to work with Betty and Maggie. On such a monumental day, it was amazing to have such kind, talented and professional ladies spend it with us, capturing all our favorite moments -- the intimate, the spiritual, the joyous and the funny!

Birds of a Feather (Betty & Maggie) were AWESOME to work with. From the very start, they were responsive to any questions we had and were FAST! They made us feel like we were their only client yet that certainly was not the case. They wanted to be sure we had everything done our way and that they captured all the photos we just had to be sure to get. Over the months prior to the wedding day, they would occassionally send a note to say how they were looking forward to our special day. We even got a package about 2 months before that had candy and a certificate for a free Red Box rental just to remind us to be sure to relax because they know how busy it gets that close to the big day. That was so sweet! Our wedding day was totally awesome. Betty and Maggie made us feel at ease and made me (the bride) feel like a Queen. They were not intrusive at all and captured very special things that we would have missed otherwise. Our wedding was the Saturday after Thanksgiving and we had a two week honeymoon. Our wedding pictures were ready BEFORE WE GOT BACK!! That just blew us away. In the midst of the holiday rush, they still got our pictures ready in less than 2 weeks. Because the pictures were ready so quickly we were able to send out Christmas photo cards and used the wedding pictures. Our friends and family really enjoyed them. When we came home from our honeymoon, we had a package waiting for us that had the flash drive of our pictures. And it was done in such a cute way. The flash drive was nestled in a birds nest like an egg with two wooden birds on either side. The birds had our initials on them and the nest had a few feathers in there for the perfect touch. It was sooooo cute. I will be holding on to that as one of our wedding keepsakes! I would definitely recommend Birds of a Feather and will use them again for any future special events I may have.

Betty and Maggie were absolutely incredible to work with on our wedding. Being a photographer myself I spent so much time finding the photographer that would capture all the moments I wanted and how I envisioned. When I met Betty and Maggie they knew just what I wanted and helped me feel at ease and much more relaxed as they took a huge weight off my shoulders knowing my wedding day would be captured perfectly. They helped make a timeline and organize our day that just made our lives so much easier because I was able to share that with our other vendors and kept everyone on schedule. And somehow they were able to keep me on time! (I am always late for everything and they made sure I was on time!) Once it was all over we received the most adorable package in the mail with our photos and we got so many more than expected! I can honestly say one of the highlights of my wedding was working with this photographer!

They were so helpful and flexible during all the planning. During the wedding they were comfortable and such good sports about pictures in the freezing temperatures. I would recommend that any bride hire them!

We had pictures taken with each family that came to our wedding and it was amazing to see group pictures turn out great for every group!

Their editing is so pretty, very natural but still very professional pictures.

They give you all the photos on a flash drive and a link to a website that your family can use to download full size pictures from, that alone puts them head and shoulders above other photographers!

I even found out they came and stayed in the city the night before my wedding since there was a terrible storm they wanted to be close by the Tabard. They were just the very best!

Maggie and Betty, are beyond phenomenal. They are not only amazing photographers but great people that make you feel like family. I don’t need to say much about their photos because they speak for themselves. Their work is elegant and impeccable. They captured every detail including shots that I would never imagine I wanted but glad they got. My husband and I are completely blown away with the outcome of our photos, we were completely speechless. I will forever be indebted to Maggie and Betty on their fantastic job capturing our wedding.

On top of their amazing photography, they are also great people to work with. They are VERY organized and dependable. They are laid-back and extremely friendly, but take their work very seriously. They worked hand and hand with our day of coordinator to create a day of timeline. They reorganized the timeline as weather and daylight changed. They helped keep everything on schedule, made sure we got all the pictures we wanted, were always direct and communicative. We received all pictures (over 700 shots) less than week after the wedding. It was amazing to see every detail when you’re still on the wedding day high.

When we initially met with Maggie and Betty, we were happy with our decision but after shooting the engagement session and wedding there is no words for our excitement with our photos and our new friendship. These ladies are the embodiment of what you want in a wedding photographer. We have recommended them to all our friends.

We LOVE birds of a feather photography. Maggie and Betty are incredible, amazing photographers, and their work is stunning.

We really had no choice with wedding photographers – once we saw Maggie and Betty’s work online, we were hooked. And after we stalked them at a bridal expo and found out how amazing they are? We had to have them. It was the best decision we could have made.

They’re wonderful women, chock-full of talent, cheer, and good humor. Working with them was such a pleasure – they were patient and endlessly helpful with our zillions of questions.

During our engagement session, they laughed and joked, making us feel completely comfortable even though they were photographing us at the same time. The results were great – no awkwardness, we just looked natural, like Betty and Maggie had just stumbled upon us randomly and happened to take some pictures. The same thing for our wedding day! Our friends and family were so impressed with how professional yet friendly and inviting they were. During the ceremony and reception, they were all over, taking photos of everything and seeming to be in every place at once. As if they hadn't been incredible enough, our finished photographs were delivered in a ridiculously short amount of time: we got married on a Saturday, and we had the photos the following Thursday. They worked overtime to get them back to us so quickly, and we were blown away by the amount of time and effort they'd put into us and into our wedding photos. Maggie and Betty went far above and beyond our expectations, and we are so grateful and appreciative, and feel so lucky, to have had them as our wedding photographers.

Our photos are spectacular. Maggie and Betty captured the spirit of our wedding, the joy and happiness, the love and excitement and fun. Our photographs are priceless, and we treasure them.

I first fell in love with Betty and Maggie when we met at a coffee shop. Betty mentioned that she was a “ninja photographer”. Their work was beautiful and they were personable and easy to talk to. I knew they were the photographers for us!

Betty and Maggie are so fun and caring that they immediately made my husband and I feel comfortable in front of the camera during our fall engagement session.

Through all the commotion on our wedding day, Betty and Maggie were in the midst of the action cool and collected. They were so supportive, gave advice when needed, and had an overall calming presence. All the while capturing small details and sweet hidden moments between us and our family and friends.

Both our engagement and wedding photos were ready within a week and they are perfect. Betty and Maggie are two very special and talented women and a completely harmonized mother/daughter team. I hold Betty and Maggie very dear to my heart for all they have done for us. We highly recommend Birds of a Feather!!

True story: I met Maggie and Betty at a bridal show with a friend before I was even engaged myself. Though I felt a proposal was imminent, I didn't want to "count my chickens," so to speak . . . but I remember being so taken with the ladies themselves and their powerful, incredible images that I had to pull up their website for my then-boyfriend (perhaps as a little nudge!).

Fast-forward a few months and, when I officially did get engaged, the ladies of Birds of a Feather were the very first vendors we contacted. Before we had a venue, a "theme," a color scheme -- heck, even a wedding date! -- I was emailing Maggie because I simply knew we had to have them at our big day.

Really. awesome. decision.

From our very first meeting over coffee to our many emails back and forth in the months leading up to our wedding, Betty and Maggie showed time and again why they're so beloved by clients (who become friends). Honestly, I can't picture any other photographers going through this process with us -- and aside from their warmth and professionalism, they're simply incredibly fun and talented women who produce fantastic work.

Hiring Birds of a Feather means you won't be "hiring vendors" so much as inviting friends to your awesome party, and we feel very fortunate to have met this sweet and talented mother/daughter team. The wedding day photos themselves were in our hands less than a week after our event . . . which is just, like, seriously insane. INSANE. I've spent hours pouring through them to relive the magic of our day, and I would sing their praises from every rooftop in Southern Maryland!

WOW! This is the word that comes to mind when we think of Maggie and Betty. They are the absolute most amazing mother-daughter team. We were nervous starting out the whole wedding process in an area neither one of us had grown up in so we were not familiar with any of our vendors. We just happened to attend one of the bridal shows for fun. We each had our few important areas of the wedding that we wanted to be able to ensure we each were able to encompass. The most important aspect for me was the photographer and the photos as the photos tell the story of one of the most important days of your life! We immediately fell in love with Team Maggie and Betty and their work. They set our mind at ease from our first meeting at Starbucks to our amazingly cold but well worth engagement session at the Jefferson Memorial which I might add a sidebar. We thought we were timing our engagement photos to be exactly when the cherry blossoms in DC would bloom however mother nature decided to drop the temperature in the 30s that particular day, but despite the weather, Maggie and Betty made us completely forget about the cold weather and the lack of cherry blossoms as the photographs and experience were absolutely astonishing. Needless to say, it left us excited and in suspense for what they would do on our actual wedding day! They exceeded our expectations ten fold! Maggie and Betty were with us every step of the way leaving you feeling like you were working with your own sister and mother. They have this dynamic with each other that makes your photographs not only photographs but captured unforgettable moments. Birds of a Feather is so fitting down to every single detail (trust me, you will want to see the little surprise details.) Maggie and Betty made our entire wedding experience exactly what we had hoped for and more. I would be here all night if I could tell you all the wonderful things about Maggie & Betty's work. They are so good at what they do. They make you feel warm and special. I can honestly say, THE BEST pictures of my new husband and I. Maggie and Betty are both professional and caring. Highly recommend them!! :)

I hired Betty and Maggie for my wedding and engagement shoot. They bring out the best in their subjects, and treat you like their only client when they're working with you. I love the artistic nature of their photos, but they'll also shoot traditional portraits. I appreciated their willingness to go where where we wanted to go, work with our families and their promptness in getting photos to us was unbelievable. Having our photos on a flash drive is great because we can share them with everybody. They feel like family at this point. I highly recommend them for any event.
