We used Big Day for our bagpiper, strings, and for the band at the reception. They were amazing!
The piper was fantastic, the string gorgeous. We selected very nontraditional music for the strings, and they sounded beautiful!!!
Finesse was awesome. Everyone was on the dance floor all night, there was never a lull.
I cannot recommend them highly enough!!!

We were lucky enough to have the services of DJ Kevin Howard. He was very professional; arriving early to set up, checking with our entire wedding party to make sure he had the correct name pronunciations and hitting all of the right cues to keep the reception events moving along. He was completely open and encouraging to our musical suggestions and played nearly every song from our extensive list. He kept the dance floor packed all night and played just the right mix to keep both younger and older guests dancing. He also is not the type of DJ to draw attention to himself. He was straight forward and sincere with all of his announcement and never felt the need to interject in between songs. DJ Kevin was a genuine pleasure to work with and helped turn our reception into a fun and memorable party.

Jason Hitt was awesome.....Just the right person for my Daughter & her Husband...They hit it off at a bridal show and requested that he do their wedding and He did....Everyone at the wedding LOVED him...he played exactly the right music as we danced the night away....

Dale Allen is a professional of the highest quality. He was responsive to our musical tastes and flexible during the event as the evening progressed. He was friendly, engaging and entertaining! Our friends and family couldn't stop complimenting us on our choice of DJ. I highly recommend this DJ and would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Kim from Big Day was one of the first vendors I spoke with when starting to plan our wedding. I wasn't planning to have a videographer at that time, but Kim still helped me and answered general questions that I had. Well, 2 weeks before the wedding, I decided we did need a videographer. I called Kim and she set it up immediately. KIM is fantastic!

Aaron our videographer was very good. At times, we didn't even know he was there. We were very happy with the end result and are grateful to always have that video to cherish.

My husband picked out the videographer to record the ceremony and then to do guest interviews at the reception.

We had Jordon. He did a great job, he checked in with us during the reception to see if there was anyone we wanted to be sure we got which I really thought was just great! He was polite and funny. A pleasure to have around on our day.

Dale Allen was our DJ and he was awesome!! My husband and I LOVE to dance so a great DJ was very important to us. The dance floor was packed from the first song until the very end. Many people made comments that they have never seen so many people dancing at a wedding. An uncle even paid for an extra hour of music because Dale helped to create such a fun celebration! He was well worth the money!

I only used Big Day's DJ services. We went with DJ Dale Alan and he was PERFECT!!! So professional, easy to work with, considerate to me and my husband taking all his cues from us, and so much fun! We got sooo many compliments on the music and he took requests no problem!

Big Day Entertainment was great. We booked our photographer late because we originally were not going to use one. We had no problem finding one with big day. They gave us a list of the available photographers and where we could view samples of their work online. We chose Dino Bovo. He was very professional but also laid back which made everyone feel very comfortable. He got every shot that we wanted plus a ton more. Every moment that we want to remember is forever captured in photos and that is exactly what I wanted.

We used Kevin as a our DJ. He was extremely professional, dressed in a tuxedo, on time, equipment ready. We spoke several times before our big day, so I felt very comfortable using his service. During our cocktail hour he played live piano for our guests. We had our reception at Heinz Hall and it set the tone for a very classy reception. He played all the songs we requested and none of the songs we rejected. Great Guy!

If you go to Big Day ask for Lea!!!! DJ Lea and her father were thee BEST DJ's !!! They were so flexible, understanding and creative! They read the crowd and played a great variety of music plus they were so much fun!

Big Day has a number of DJs to choose from. The have DJ showcases and a DVD to help you make your choice. We used DJ Flip Disc. He was very professional and had a great music selection.

I would recommend this company to anyone for a beautiful day. The dj played for an hour longer than he had said he would so we could have music during our ceremony and dinner. He played a beautiful mix of fast and slow songs ranging from any era we wanted and DID NOT play the things we did not want. Even if the guests begged it had to be approved through us. It was THE BEST!

One of my biggest concerns for my wedding after the ceremony and reception location was the DJ. As a young couple, we wanted our party to be fun-filled and with friends and family that love to dance, we wanted a DJ that kept the party going. John was exactly that! From the very moment we talked on the phone to get a sense of what kind of music we liked (and did not), John got a great sense of what kind of couple we were and gave us the perfect blend of music for our younger friends, as well as our families. He made our day what we wanted it to be, including making two last minute changes the night before the wedding: playing the Penn State (our alma mater) fight song, and a song that was given as a wedding gift to us. He included both so seamlessly into the night that you would have thought we had planned them for months. John is professional, extremely kind and truly knows how to get a party started and keep it going. I know that everyone in our family had such a good time, and are all planning to work with John again for future events: birthday parties, reunions and hopefully some more weddings!

Big Day Entertainment is the way to go if you want a reliable DJ!!! They give you videos of DJs in your price range and you just pick the one you want! If something happens on the big day and the DJ can't make it, they will send another one to you! Our DJ Sean Russell was amazing, all of our guests never stopped dancing until the very end!!!!

We used Finesse which is a band that books through Big Day and couldn't have been happier. They were very professional on time, dressed very well, and above all sounded incredible. They had a male and female singers who had great voices and did many good oldies and new ones too. Did well with the request also.

We use DJ Jason Hitts and he was great! Very energetic and worked with us in getting the crowd up and moving. He played all great songs, never a dull moment on the dance floor.

We were very pleased with DJ Wayne Dickerson. He played all the music we wanted, he was very professional. The only problem we had was with a slight music mix up for one of our dances and a name mispronunciation.

We had DJ Kevin and he was great! Very professional, dressed nicely, played the songs we requested, kept everyone dancing all night long (both older and younger crowds), and got all of our introductions and announcements correct. He played the keyboard before the ceremony and during the cocktail hour which was nice and different from many other DJs. Kevin was very friendly, always smiling, and took requests. Everyone really liked him, and I would definitely recommend him.

I used dj Sean Russell he was very nice, very professional.... Played good music--my only problem was that he played the wrong song for our first dance so I would recommend you check to make sure they have the right song even if the song titles match...

Although we enjoyed working with BigDay, our photographer was a dud. She was rude and didn't take the pictures that I wanted. I gave her a list and on that day, I wasn't really thinking about the list. She had it and did not follow it.

Big Day didn't do our photos for the wedding, but did our engagement photos.

We were in their system and were offered a promotional package, I won't go into the details, but in exchange for using our photos and a video for advertisement, they would give us a photo session, some free prints, and a discount on other orders.

The photo session went fine, the photographer was very professional and nice. HOWEVER, I did feel like we were being rushed through and felt that he wasn't interested in helping us find flattering poses -- almost all were turned to the side and I am a larger woman. The photos were okay, out of the 70 or so he took, we liked about 10... Again, though, the quality was fine, they just weren't very flattering.

The real trouble happened when I was ordering photos -- response was VERY slow. I submitted an order at the very beginning of January and received a response explaining that the person who normally handles the photos was out of town and I was given instructions on who to contact. I did so, and my phone calls were not returned.

It took OVER A MONTH to get my order processed, and by that point I went down to the Strip to pick them up myself rather than paying the shipping fee...

DJ Angelo seemed like a fun guy over the phone, and he was in person. Some guests although thought he was a little "too much" on the mic. He was given a place at the reception and although I thought it seemed a little small, the event coordinator said he would be fine. When it was all said and done he was on the opposite side of the room, they had to move tables for him (which meant our most important people were not showcased directly infront of the dance floor across from the head table) which moved the seating arrangements. He played the music we wanted but never got our attention when he left and our band went on. I thought she should have notified us just incase we wanted to pay him to stay longer, which we would have liked.

I though Sean did good as our DJ. The dance floor was packed all night. We needed someone to fit in our budget and he was willing to work with us on price.

We booked a DJ through Big Day and were satisfied with how the night turned out. There wasn't much that could have gone wrong because we were required to fill out an information packet that had us list every song, dance, announcement we wanted. However, they are a pretty outdated company. We were reluctant to book with them after only watching a few videos and not being able to talk to any of the entertainers because the videos were from so long ago. I wish we could have met with them before but talking on the phone was better than nothing. Overall, the night went well but I would still be wary of booking without seeing newer material for the other entertainers.

We hired DJ Bryan Brunsell for our September 7th wedding. I gave him a list of songs per his request which would outline the first dances etc. I don't know if he lost the list, but the song for our cake cutting was wrong. I also quite specifically told him I enjoy country music but my fiance HATED it, so as a compromise ONLY play it during dinner no matter what people request. There were like 5 slow country songs playing in a row. Nobody was dancing. Also, I told him for the first dances, MAKE SURE we are on the dance floor already because the songs start immediately with no intro. Once again, this didn't happen. Also it really upset me that he cut our dances short. This happened with my husband and I, my father and I & my husband and his mother yet he played the 7 minute version of the Cha Cha slide. Our songs were all less than 3 minutes for a reason, and I really didn't want them cut short.

He did sing and play acoustic guitar for our cocktail hour though, and everybody said what a wonderful job he did. He was extremely polite though. Lots of mistakes, but he did a decent enough job.

I had Big Day provide music for my ceremony and also a DJ for my reception. From the get-go, I was always in contact with a different person. One day one person was emailing me and the next day it was someone else saying that they hadn't received required paperwork etc. I felt bounced around and never knew who to contact with issues.
A trio was to provide the ceremony music, although it didn't appear to be the same 3 people featured as the trio on their website. While the music was nice, they played the wrong songs for the processional.
Despite all of that, I would definitely recommend DJ Kevin Howard for any piano music (cocktail hour) or reception music. He was wonderful and did exactly what we wanted and was so flexible. I can't say enough positive things about Kevin. He guided the reception without being intrusive or obnoxious, as I've seen some DJs do. He was a perfectly classy and fun DJ and I would definitely recommend him or use him again for any type of party.

Disappointed Bride

My husband and I were initially impressed with DJ Dale Allen. He had a jovial personality that was apparent in all of his e-mails, texts, and especially meeting him in person. We very much enjoyed our “consultation” with him weeks before our wedding and appreciated his upbeat positivity. We provided him with phonetic pronunciations of the bridal party/family members, we made a list of “must play” and “do not play” songs and we felt confident that he would maintain a good pace of the wedding throughout the night.

Cut to our wedding day. Don’t get me wrong, overall I will look back on this day with a full heart and fond memories of loving family, a beautiful ceremony and overall a magical night…but I cannot stress enough how very disappointed I was with DJ Dale Allen’s performance and delivery the night of the wedding.

1) He mispronounced the Groom’s grandparents’ and cousin’s last names
2) He played the wrong song for the bridal party entrance when we specifically provided him with the song title “Bring ‘Em Out”
3) He did not bring with him the original copy that we provided listing our dozen + “must play” songs and our 6(ish) “do not play” songs – he instead had a sheet printed out where he typed only SOME of the song names from our original document that we hand wrote (joke’s sort of on us – we should have had it in writing via e-mail and not handwritten)
4) He played one of the do not play songs, and when the brother of the groom approached him (which, in fairness, was more than likely done in a state of inebriation) DJ Dale Allen sought out THE BRIDE of all people to express how hurt he was by that not-so-nice brother

I can understand being upset by a guest under the influence but to drag the bride away from her out –of-town guests?...that most certainly wasn’t the right call.

My advice to the DJ: play the correct bridal party entrance song for other couples, and don’t address concerns with the bride the night of the wedding.

First and foremost I would like to say that my ACTUAL DJ, Joel Lindsey, was amazing! Not only did he DJ during the reception, but he played the guitar and sang during my ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. His voice is amazing and he is very talented. When I actually got to meet with Joel and go over everything, he really did a great job organizing and remembering all the details. I would definitely recommend him to anyone. I would not recommend going through Big Day Entertainment to book him. I did not have a good experience with the main lady. She was very unorganized and lied to me about things. I don't feel that any of my money should have went to her. It should have all gone to Joel but unfortunately I booked him through them. If you decide to go with Joel, please look him up and contact him outside of Big Day.

Our DJ was DJ Sean Russell with Big Day entertainment. We made minimal requests for our wedding because I didn't want to make it complicated. We requested three songs...the one we while we would be introduced and or course the mother/son dance and father/daughter dance. He did not get the intro song correct, which was disappointing because every time we would hear the song prior to our wedding we would get excited and even pretend we were being introduced. It would not have been a hard song to find. I offered to send it to him but he assured me that he had it. If he had any doubts he should have contacted us. The song that he did play was very strange and I had never heard it. It was disappointing. I read on this site that it also happened to someone else so unfortunately, I feel he may lack attention to detail, which is something that people expect on their big day. My sister used a DJ and had each couple walk out to a different song and her DJ was half the cost. DJ Sean Russell also mixed up peoples first and last names as well as the order. I really have no idea how that happened as I checked the email and the names were all correct and in the correct order. If you want a mediocre job you can get it for less.
