We truly cannot speak highly enough of Ascot Diamonds generally, and Paul specifically! If you are looking for a perfect engagement ring (or any piece of jewelry for that matter), look no further. Paul is your guy!!

My now fiancé and I visited quite a few jewelers and chain stores before finding Ascot, and right away we could tell that Ascot was the way to go. During our first appointment, Paul walked us through every single thing there is to know about diamonds with so much expertise and experience; we were blown away (we thought we knew everything there was to know at that point, and oh my gosh we were wrong). His years of experience, deep passion, kindness and warmth, and sense of humor make him the best teacher there is.

Once we decided to move forward with Paul, the process of designing our dream engagement ring was as easy, fun, and effortless as could be. Paul knew just what questions to ask and what stones and settings to show us, and he listened so closely to everything we said about what we wanted in our ring. He was extremely communicative, available, patient, and easy to work with — a true master of diamonds who is unbelievably talented and kind. We swung by Ascot at our convenience (Paul always made time for us!) to double check sizing, look at the same stone for the second and third time, and confirm everything was perfect.

The final product absolutely blew us away. It is stunning, and exactly what we imagined. We cannot wait to work with Paul for our wedding rings and all of our future jewelry needs, and we truly cannot sing his praises enough! Paul is incredible, and anyone would be lucky to work with him!

Exquisite and Knowledgable

We loved our experience at Ascot Diamonds. Paul Jacobs was so informative, easy to work with and we love our rings. We shopped at quite a few stores shopping for rings, but once we went to see Paul, no one else compared. He helps us make a data driven decision, and applied 0 pressure. He was super transparent, and I was able to get a very delicate band. My husband also got my wedding present earrings from Paul. Ascot will be our go to for life!

Exceptional Experience at Ascot Diamonds

My experience with Ascot Diamonds exceeded all expectations. I appreciate that their approach is based around understanding your specifications and budget, advising what to look for in a diamond to maximize your budget, and then finding the stone that is right for you. It was a pleasure to work with Madison, who was responsive and provided exceptional service from start to finish. She made the process of selecting a diamond pressure-free and was patient in incorporating my comments on multiple iterations of the custom engagement ring design. When delivery was delayed (no fault of Ascot), Madison went above and beyond to personally meet the courier and then get the ring to me just hours before my international flight. As for the ring itself, it was perfect.

My fiancé and I were again impressed with the service and product when we returned for our wedding rings. I highly recommend Ascot Diamonds and Madison.

The best in the area

My now-husband and I looked for engagement rings together, and had fine/okay experiences at a few other local spots... and then we went to see Paul at Ascot Diamonds. Our experience was phenomenal. He was thorough, warm, and easy to work with, and he helped my husband design an absolutely gorgeous, unique engagement ring that was exactly what I wanted. It was a no-brainer to return to Paul and Ascot to get our wedding bands, and again, Paul helped us design exactly what we both wanted and they were ready several weeks ahead of schedule. Great experience!

My fiancé had got my engagement ring here, which was perfect so we decided to get our wedding bands at Ascot as well. I was nervous going in because I didn’t want to feel pressured to get something I wasn’t in love with. Madison helped us and she did not pressure us at all. We picked what we liked and she told us to just email her to place the order whenever we were ready. She also helped us when my husband had the date engraved in his ring when we changed the date due to Covid. They have great customer service!

Educational and easy

The team at Ascot was a pleasure to work with. They took the time to educate me on the various trade offs to buying a diamond and how to balance them to get what I wanted while staying within my budget. I designed a custom engagement ring for my now-wife and it was overall a very easy process (she loved the ring!). They also have a wide, high-quality selection of pieces. I would highly recommend them.

lovely wedding bands

Ascost diamonds made my engagement ring for my husband when he was getting ready to propose, so naturally we went back there to get our wedding rings from them. Both of our bands turned out so beautifully. They were especially flexible on my wedding band since I had more of a restricted budget but a very specific style in mind and they made it work. Highly recommend them for wedding jewelry needs.

Best Jeweler Ever

We came across Jill at Ascot Diamonds back in 2013 when my then boyfriend, now husband, and I began searching for a jeweler to help with the engagement ring process. We thoroughly searched jewelers and researched diamonds because we had no idea what we were doing and were scared of getting taken advantage of. Ascot was recommended to us by a customer of mine, after noticing her absolutely gorgeous engagement ring. Her fiancee told me about all of their extensive research they did in DC and NYC for the best jeweler and how Ascot was by far their best experience, best quality for the price, etc. We figured it was worth a try, and I am SOOO glad we found them. Jill at Ascot has been our jeweler for 5 years now. She worked with us (and then my husband for many months afterwards) to locate the perfect diamond, together they created a custom made engagement ring that I adore. We got our wedding rings there, I got a ring after the birth of each of my children, and we just got a custom made necklace of the birthstones of each of our children (my first experience with gemstones!). Each time Jill gave us plenty of options without being overwhelming, researched diamonds, and or gemstones, ring options, etc. and helped us customize everything so it was perfect for me. I also brought her my grandmother's old necklace that we "modernized" with her help and their jeweler's great skills. I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. So easy to work with, so comfortable, the quality is amazing, the price is extremely reasonable, you will not find a better jeweler. Honestly, if we ever move out of this area, we will drive or fly back to DC to work with them for more pieces. I love Ascot!

Cannot say enough good things about Ascot! We worked with Paul to design my engagement ring and he was incredibly helpful. We knew we were getting great service when he told us the bigger sized diamond wasn't worth the high increase in price because it wouldn't even be noticeably bigger. My fiance went in with no knowledge of diamonds and came out a wealth of information.

We also really appreciated Paul's flexibility. While the store has more limited hours, he was willing to meet with us early or late to accommodate our work schedules. They even helped my fiance with a little deception to convince me that my ring wasn't ready yet so the proposal would be a surprise. In every way, above and beyond!

We will certainly be going back to get my wedding band! Highly recommend for anyone ring shopping.

My fiance and I worked with Tim to design my engagement ring and had a phenomenal experience. I only met with Tim and my fiance once to pick out the band and look at diamond options, and he was so helpful in explaining the differences between the properties and grading systems. We were interested in a lab grown diamond(which we could only find at Ascot in this area) and he showed us multiple lab grown diamonds to compare to traditional diamonds so we could eventually determine we wanted the lab grown to get a larger diamond for a lesser price. He was very patient and met with us for nearly 90 minutes on a Friday evening. He was in constant contact, so I've heard, with my then-boyfriend about the process and details and our budget. He never tried to upsell anything and worked within our budget guidelines producing for us an extremely superior product that has wowed everyone who has seen it. We will be returning to him to design our wedding bands for our ceremony in the summer, and I'd highly recommend Ascot Diamonds for any type of jewelry need.

Ascot Diamonds is wonderful. I wanted a diamond wedding band that exactly matched my engagement ring, but the designer didn't have one available. Ascot Diamonds was willing to custom make a band for me that is the perfect width, diamond quality, and metal to look like a matched set with my engagement ring. The price was also very good compared to some other stores we met with. I would absolutely return to Ascot Diamonds!

A few months back my fiance and I were looking for an engagement ring. We check several jewelry places, but we were not really satisfied. We stopped by Ascot Diamonds Arlington not knowing what to expect. What we found were: a warm welcome, excellent professional service, great detailed lessons about diamond and tons of flexibility. Paul Jacobs assisted us. He spent almost an hour explaining the types of diamonds, the cuts, quality and etc. We both felt that we became experts. Paul was an excellent listener and gave us genuine advice. At the end we got our dream ring. We already recommended Ascot Diamonds to all our family and friends.

Tim and his team at Ascot Diamonds are truly as good as they get! We were referred there by a few friends of ours and couldn't be happier we received this suggestion. This was our first time looking for rings and Tim made the process relaxing, fun and most importantly, comfortable. He sat with us for hours on multiple days explaining different aspects of our ring (who knew there was so much to know about diamonds and different types of gold!) and throughout the entire process was incredibly honest about what looks good and what was right for us. In addition, he was so flexible with appointments - we could go before work, after work, on the weekends ... he always made himself available!

Aside from being incredibly knowledgeable and professional, Tim was so personable and thoughtful. My fiance and I got engaged a few weeks before Thanksgiving and had inherited a stone, so we went to Tim right away to pick out a ring and I told him from the beginning that it was SO important to me to have the stone in time for when I visit my family for the holiday. And of course, Tim made it happen. Being able to share the ring with my family was so meaningful and special, and it was all made possible by Tim.

We're looking forward to going back to Ascot and visiting Tim for our wedding bands!

Ascot diamonds was amazing to work with while picking out our wedding bands. We worked with a nice gentleman who knew the area where we were getting married at- Herrington on the Bay in Southern MD. He was able to work within our price range and was wonderful and very personable. Every time I need my rings cleaned- we go to Ascot because you are in and out very quickly and they do an amazing job cleaning the rings professionally.

Me and my husband just got married on 9/12/15 and got our wedding bands at Ascot Diamonds. We worked with Tim and he was phenomenal! my girlfriend found the wedding ring of her dreams at Ascot Diamonds via the internet. We are from California, therefore we did not get to see the piece in person. I contacted the closest store located in Dallas and spoke with Maurice. He was completely professional and calmed my fears by giving me a guaranteed satisfaction with the product I was buying. I needed the ring in a short amount of time and he came through flawlessly. The ring turned out amazing and I'm extremely happy with the product and the service Marcie and Ascot Diamonds provided. My fiance got my engagement ring from Ascot after numerous good reviews from his friends. He had worked with Paul and found him very easy to work with and they found a beautiful engagement ring which I love. Through all of my interactions with Paul and his team afterward they were hugely helpful, resizing the ring within 24 hours, having it cleaned numerous times at no cost prior to the big day and finally in finding my matching band within less than a month of the big day (which was a bridal blip on my end). They were very accommodating and pleasant and I would gladly recommend them to anyone needing a jeweler.

My fiance and I met with Tim after finding Ascot in a google search of "jewelers in Arlington". We had been to about 4 other jewelers, and Ascot ended up being the most worthwhile place to spend our time and money. Little did we know we landed on a gold mine with Tim. There is so much information out there on how to select a diamond, and the "c's", and so on and so forth that it could be overwhelming; but when we sat down with Tim, he explained everything to both of us in a very succinct and hands-on manner. He handed over the loop and the diamond(s), and explained what we were looking at so we could understand how the imperfections are formed, how clarity is achieved, and how a diamond is priced (in-house and amongst competitors).

He never pressured us to buy from him, and spent most of his time investing in a relationship with us and teaching us about diamonds. My fiance went back without me, and he learned more and more over several visits, emails, and phone calls. Each time, Tim would present various stones as options, and the two would discuss the merits of each stone.

Tim was very helpful in the selection of our stone, and encouraged us not to overpay (something I never thought we would hear from a jeweler); ultimately we purchased my wedding band from him. He called us a few days before the wedding and reminded us to come in to have all of our rings polished for us before the big day (free), and since then has offered continued courtesy polishings. He has been a great teacher, jeweler, and diamond mentor.

My now-husband and I fully endorse and highly recommend Tim at Ascot Diamonds for your diamond needs - you will get education, personalized treatment, and the best bang for your buck.

I cannot thank Paul and team enough for making my wife's wedding ring absolutely stunning. I never realized what an important gift the engagement ring is long after the moment. We shopped around to many places in the area and ultimately settled on Ascot! Low pressure and very accommodating. We really can't say enough good things. We did get our bands somewhere else, but that's just because we were reaching out budget and decided to order them from an online wholesaler. We would not have done that with my engagement ring, though. It is AMAZING!!!

Ascot Diamonds is not a jewelry store -- they are a high quality jeweler. Tim Birch educated my new husband and I on diamond selection. He worked with us to create jewelery that is perfect for us and within our budget. He is a class act. There is no pressure. Just high quality diamonds, in a lovely private setting. My fiance worked with Ascot Diamonds to create a custom engagement ring with a family diamond and Yogo sapphires that he had purchased from Montana. Every other store said, "here's a setting you could use, and here's how much it would cost." Tim at Ascot Diamonds said, "Let's sit down and talk about what you want and create something unique." The best part: the quoted cost for a custom design was less than the cookie-cutter settings at other places! We decided to go back to Tim for our wedding bands and also had a great experience. I got my wedding band custom-contoured to the engagement ring, and Tim was extremely helpful in picking out a wedding band for my fiance, who had pretty much no experience with jewelry. Overall, a great experience.

Tim Birch is the most amazing salesperson to work with and he doesn't pressure you at all. I went here for a wedding band and they were willing to make an alteration to my engagement ring which was purchased elsewhere so that the ring would sit flush against the wedding band. The man who adjusts the rings has an office in the back of the store so Tim could easily go consult with him during our appointment. Ascot has a huge (almost overwhelming!) selection and they are willing to work with you on price. I would go back here for jewelry in the future.

Paul did such an amazing job with my engagement ring and our wedding bands. My fiance and I went to numerous diamond retailers and custom designers to search for a classy round solitaire within our budget. Paul had a solitaire setting with filigree and profile stones that I loved, and he was able to negotiate with us to meet our budget. The search was well worth the wait as the end result was beautiful. The diamond, setting, and engraved bands were gorgeous. We got many compliments on the filigree and sapphire engagement ring setting and the engravings on our bands. I took the ring back twice for adjustments for the ring size and side stone bezel. Paul was more than willing to adjust the ring to get it exactly to my liking and was highly responsive throughout the whole process. I highly recommend Paul at Ascot due to his tireless effort to get your engagement ring perfect, his wide collection of beautiful settings, and his ability to search for the perfect stone within your budget.

Loved working with Ascot Diamonds. When we went looking for diamonds, Paul was very helpful in explaining everything we needed to know. We also discussed the different type of metal options. I really felt that he was concerned with what we wanted and making a good recommendation to us about quality, and not trying to 'sell' us something. He was very honest and it was refreshing. We were so pleased with the engagement ring we went back and got both our wedding bands there.

They will also help you design a ring if you don't find exactly what you are looking for. My husband had my engagement ring designed - and it was a very easy process.

We looked all over the DC area and the best jeweler for us was in our backyard. Jill at Ascot helped us pick out a yellow gold band for my husband, and yellow-sapphires in yellow gold band for me, right down to bringing in a variety of yellow sapphires and yellow diamonds for me to consider. We had a great experience with Tim at Ascot. The engagement ring is a family heirloom, so we didn't even buy a diamond from Ascot, but they were nonetheless extremely helpful with all aspects of the process. They appraised the engagement ring, created a custom wedding band contoured to fit the engagement ring, and were very helpful with selecting the groom's wedding band. They were particularly helpful with the sizing of the rings--they were willing to re-size in-house or order a new size. Overall they provided excellent service.

I bought my fiancee's engagement ring here from Paul and was extremely pleased. I had done a lot of online research but couldn't bring myself to spend that much money at an online jeweler. From the first time I met Paul, he put me at ease, answered my questions, and didn't give me a high pressure sales pitch. He simply showed me the rings, diamonds, and gave me a quote that was right in my price range and sent me on my way. I called back the next day and ordered the ring. I managed to get the size about a half size too big but Paul and the rest of the staff worked with my fiancee to get it perfectly sized. When it came time to buy the wedding bands, we went to Ascot again and got exactly what we wanted. Their prices are extremely fair and the service is impeccable. I would recommend them to any of my friends looking to buy an engagement ring or to any couple looking for wedding bands.

My husband surprised me with my engagement ring that we got from Ascot Diamonds and it is stunning. He used a family diamond and the setting is perfect. We then got my wedding band there and it is also sparkly and gorgeous. When I experienced a problem with the band, Ascot took care of it quickly and at no cost to me. Also, I had a family ring from my grandmother that I wanted to remake into a necklace. my brother and sister-in-law went to paul for their engagement and wedding bands. they have recommended countless friends to paul and myself as well.

i got my engagement ring from another jewelry. i didn't like the wedding band that went with the ring and was having trouble finding what i wanted. my engagement ring has a slight bend to it. jewelers quoted me prices for a custom band that was way over my budget. paul could do what i wanted at a very reasonable price.

my husband had a specific modern look he wanted and paul delivered again.

Paul at Ascot Diamonds in Arlington was so easy to work with - really the easiest vendor to work with throughout the wedding planning process. We bought my wedding band from him, as my wedding ring was a unique design that we had a tough time finding a band to match.

Ascot's jewelry is amazingly beautiful and they don't haggle you or try to convince you to buy their most expensive pieces. They just want to provide you with a beautiful piece that is exactly what you want.

We were thrilled with my wedding bnad, it just adds to the beauty of my wedding ring - and everyone that has seen it has complimented me on it.

My now husband custom-designed my engagement ring working with Paul at Ascot Diamonds, and we were both so pleased that it was obvious we'd return for our wedding bands. My engagement ring is truly one-of-a-kind, and we designed my wedding band to match. My husband's ring was less work, but it took longer for him to pick out, and Paul was very patient. Absolutely fantastic. My husband purchased my engagement ring from Ascot Diamonds (one of my best friends had recommended as she has purchased diamonds from them before) - the learning process he went through and all the diamonds he was able to view was beyond what he expected. Paul seemed to know each diamond personally. It was a no brainer to return to Ascot when we were purchasing our wedding bands. Paul attended to our needs and let us try on several different styles. We never felt rushed or pressured. He had an excellent eye for matching a band to my engagement ring as well. Skip all those big jewelry stores and little strip mall jewelers. My fiance and I went here to look at engagement rings after an amazing proposal in Europe with a 'dummy ring.' It was a very personal experience that you cant get anywhere else these days. I did have an antique ring that was too small and could not be resized. He did all of the leg work and gave us a credit toward a new ring! He was very professional and responsive. I am in love with my ring and hand picked my center stone, a perfect sapphire. Highly recommended. I took some 'flexibility points' because they are closed on Sunday. However, I can tell you that they are a small operation and they are willing to work for your business. Please visit them!

We worked with Tim at the Arlington, VA location. He was incredibly easy to work with and did everything he could to accommodate us. My engagement ring was my grandmother's ring, but it was in yellow gold, which wasn't exactly my thing. But, I wanted it to look identical. I thought we could just get it dipped, but Tim recommended we actually create the ring to look identical. He worked with me to make sure I felt it looked and felt exactly the same as my grandmother's ring (just in white gold). It was such a wonderful experience. So much so, that we went back to get our wedding bands there. We also had our own ideas of what we wanted so he helped us to create the rings we wanted. All of this, within reasonable price. We went to a few other locations in the DC area that received great reviews, but they were just so pricey! Ascot's prices were much more reasonable and were exactly the same quality. I can't wait to see the actual rings once they're made! Definitely recommend!!

Tim is one of the nicest and most genuine jewelers I have ever met. He really cares about his customers and it shows. The first time I came in I had no idea what type of wedding band I wanted. He was very patient and let me look through 4 different boxes - I never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything. He was very helpful in suggesting different types of cuts and styles and was very cognizant of our budget. After I ordered my wedding band, he always followed up to let me know the estimated arrival time of my band. When my band came, he did not pressure me to purchase it right away. Instead, he made sure that I was fully satisfied with it - if I didn't like it - he would send it back to get it fixed immediately. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted my engagement ring to look like and after visiting several dozen big company jewelry stores, we found Ascot Diamonds. I need a fairly quick turn around (less than two weeks) on the engagement ring and these guys pulled through for me. I set up an appointment, since they discourage walk-ins. They gave me a very helpful lesson on what the different measurements for diamonds mean and how they are practically applied to various stones. They assured me that none of the stones they sell are conflict stones. At the time they said that in my price range (2k) they would value brilliance over some of the other measurements so that the diamond would sparkle more, although it would have some inclusions. The end result was exactly what they promised and one day earlier than they had said it could be done. The ring is brilliant and I felt that the stone that I got was a great value. The design of the ring I got has a larger center stone surrounded by a row of much smaller diamonds on the outside edge. We have had to take the ring in twice now to have two of these small diamonds replaced after they fell out. In both of these cases, Ascot jumped to it to fix the ring in just a couple days without any additional repair fee.

Overall: I'd say these guys give a good value and are very friendly. I got the impression that most of their business is from other types of jewelry involving diamonds, so I didn't get pressured to get a bigger diamond. If I had it to do over, I'd still buy from them, but I might alter the design of the ring so that the outside diamonds would be slightly more secure. I have recommended Ascot to my friends and would again.
