Fantastic DJ

Doc Wristen is a wonderful DJ! Super fun and has a perfect DJ voice. He played songs that got people to the dance floor. He helped us to know the order of how to do the wedding reception. Doc helped make the reception a party where people had lots of fun!

Even though you have an idea of how you want your reception to go, lean on them because they have done many of them and know all the small details very well.

We have a great experience with Russ. Everything went as promised! He played the songs we wanted, skipped the parts we wanted to skip and read the crowd well. He talked when he needed to and let the guests carry the show when they were the stars.
He rolled with the punches when the weather forced some changes, played a surprise song or two. And he definitely had the best car at the event.

We were very satisfied with our DJ at our wedding! He was very professional, and kept everyone entertained the whole night. We would definitely recommend him to someone else.

I am just saying, this DJ was absolutely wonderful! He did professional lighting, carried the audience well, and picked music based off what I had given examples of. You will NOT regret going with this guy. He knows what he is doing and it was such a BLESSING to have him DJ our wedding! #HappilyeverCollins June 4, 2016

We used the services of Russ Wristen for our son's wedding. He was wonderful! He kept the party alive all night. Russ (Doc) was very professional. We have seen the services of other DJ's in our area. None have compared to Abilene Wedding DJs and Doc! We totally recommend his services and plan on using him again in the near future.

We used The Party Doc DJ (Russ Wristen) for our daughters "New Years Eve" wedding and reception. The DJ did a fabulous job and our guests are still talking about how much fun they had at her reception/party! I would definitely recommend calling them for your next party or event!

This company did an excellent job. They were prompt and professional. All of the songs on my playlist were utilized and the music volume was perfect. When my wedding guests wanted to move the party outside, they were nice enough to tear down and set up for me again in the new location. I highly recommend them!

I used AbileneDJ.com (Russ Wristen) for my wedding in October 6, 2012. We could not have been more happy with the value, quality and professionalism. I was given a long list of questions to complete along with a section for me to pick 30 songs I wanted played. All thirty songs were played and at the end of the night, I was given two CD's with these songs on them for me to keep. Also, they were extremely reasonable in price and well worth every penny!

I have known Russ (aka Russell) Wristen since I was in the second grade. We graduated from Early High School together a long time ago. We have kept in touch over the years and last summer, he DJ’d my daughter’s wedding and reception. He was awesome. He had all kinds of music! He was very professional, attentive to the couple’s special requests, and DEFINITELY kept the party going. If he was playing a song and no one was dancing, he would immediately change to something else to keep things moving. I have had many family members and friends tell me what a fun wedding we had. I think it was all due to the expertise of the DJ. I've been to wedding receptions where there were just a lot of awkward moments. Not with Russ!!! I recommend him VERY HIGHLY!!!

We were so pleased with how the music for the ceremony turned out. But, the dance music was absolutely amazing! Everyone had the BEST time at the dance and the DJ did an awesome job of getting everyone involved. For the money, this was the best part of the whole wedding. GREAT JOB RUSS!!!

Mr. Wristen was one of the best DJ's I've ever seen or worked with. His delightful demeanor was a hit with the crowd and I still receive compliments on him. Mr. Wristen was more than respectable to everyone at the reception and played anything that was asked. Mr. Wristen is someone I have and would refer to anyone, he will the best DJ you could ask for. Please don't use anyone else but him, I promise you will regret not using him.

Russ provided an excellent DJ service! He was very easy to work and communicate with and the price was very affordable. Everyone had a blast at the wedding.

Our reception would have not been as wonderful and memorable without Russ's service. What I requested in musics was followed to the "T" and more. He added his special touch to our special night and all of our friends are still talking about the night and the music. A big "Thank you" to a very good friend and a great night.

The lighting at my wedding reception was beautiful. "Doc" took the time to create a custom monogram based off my husbands families' brand. The music towards the end of the night was great and the party went so long we went over time with our venue (whoops). Even though it was storming, music and speeches could still be heard. My only regret is that I did not go over music with the DJ prior to the wedding reception and we had some incorrect songs played (like our first dance). Fortunately the DJ was quick to correct the problem and most of my guests had no idea anything went wrong!

We were pleased with the service we received from Russ, he was very helpful in making sure our ceremony music was perfect and the monogrammed light. I would just recommend being very specific, because how else will he know what you and your guests want to hear? I was not specific enough I think, otherwise he would have done great, I was just bummed to hear some of the played out songs like Low by Flo Rida and nothing really newer. My only negativity is that he played our first dance song twice throughout the night, making it a little less special and at the end of the night while we were getting ready to do our private last dance and guest were exiting, he was promoting himself for about 5 minutes which I found a little unprofessional (If someone wants to know what DJ I used they would ask).

Our DJ was very nice but she brought her son along with her who was drinking on our bar tab and my Dad had to tell the bartenders to cut him off. The price for the services was very reasonable but I would not recommend them to a friend or use them in the future because of this experience.

Had a hard time with some of our communications. Things got very unprofessional and was spoken to as if I were a child. Very boastful.

I waited over a year to write this review to see if time would make matters seem less significant... If you want to enjoy your wedding at all, don't hire this dj. The sound system didn't work almost the entire wedding and reception. Processional songs cut in and out. Mic didn't work on announcements or toasts. Staff was/is clueless and unprepared! Could not understand dj even when the mic was working. Owner called the bride at 12:45 am on her wedding night and left a very unprofessional voice-mail talking about his professionalism. Actions speak louder than words.
