Hi, I'm LuLu Formby!  After 25 years in accounting, I decided to persue my dream of owning a sweet shop and making the world a little SWEETER!  I opened LuLu's Sweet Expectations in my home town, of Port St. Joe, Florida, in November 2005.  In 2009, I married the love of my life, Paul Formby.  Though Paul works another job, he is very active in helping at the store.  Since the Florida Beaches are great for DESTINATION WEDDINGS, my main focus quickly turned to wedding cakes.  In 2010 alone, I made over 100 wedding cakes for destination brides, mostly from the Atlanta area, who chose to be married on our beautiful white sugar beaches!  I have 30 years of cake decorating experience, having started just out of high school.  I love to be challanged with a new cake design, so bring on your best idea!  I will make it a cake!  I specialize in carved cake creations!  Check out my pictures, or see my webpage:  www.lulussweetexpectations.com

We are so excited about our recent transfer to PHENIX CITY, AL!  Due to my husband accepting a position at Mead/Westvaco Papermill, we chose to move the store from Port St. Joe, to our new home in Phenix City!

If you are traveling through to/from Atlanta, we are just 3 miles from Columbus, GA.  Take the Summerville Road Exit off of Hwy. 80/431.  We are located in the "The Market at Stadium" shopping center, across the road from the Garrett-Harrison Football Stadium (1819 Stadium Drive).  LOOK FOR US TO OPEN AT OUR PHENIX CITY LOCATION IN AUGUST 2011.

One of the things I am most proud of is my promise that YOUR cake will  be made FRESH to order, never frozen, and with highest quality ingredients on the market.  We make our own butter-cream frosting in small batches, and we make own fondant special for each cake as needed.  My brides consistantly (so far 100% of the time) brag on how fresh and moist and delicious their cake was.  I believe the taste and freshness of your cake is just as important as the appearance. 

In addition to cakes, at LuLu's Sweet Expectations, we make over 20 flavors of fudge, divinity, pecan pralines, gourmet chocolates and truffles.  We serve Mayfield hand-dipped ice cream.  Stop in for a milkshake, malt, or banana split, made the old fasioned way!  We also have a gourmet coffee/espresso bar, offering delicious hand made latte's and cappuccinos (hot, iced or frozen)  Check out our WALL OF CANDY, with 100's of bulk candy selections, like all 50 flavors of Jelly Belly jelly beans, gummies, rock candy, huge jaw breakers, and chocolates dipped nuts!
