About Us
I approach each wedding with an open mind and an eye for detail. That's what I love about weddings: all the work you put into the details. I pride myself on making the time I spend with you as stress free as possible and I work hard to find the right balance between posed shots and candid moments. Your wedding day is yours so I want to do everything I can to preserve it and make you happy.
I've been making photographs for as long as I can remember...my mom even has the first picture I ever took somewhere in a photo album. I was under 2 and I took a picture of my doll. It was out of focus. I started photographing weddings in 2001 when I finished the applied photography program at the Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning. While I loved what I learned in the program I found that I was interested in pursuing the art side of photography and not so much the commercial side that was stressed at Sheridan. I went back to school and got my degree in Art and Art History where I specialized in photography and design. I find that the time I spent at U of T helped me develop my style and design sensibility which in turn changed the way I take photographs. I love weddings...always have. It's an amazing thing when you can feel the love in a room full of people, and I'm always so grateful when a bride and groom allow me to share such an important day in their lives.
For me, the most important thing about your wedding is telling your story. I want to show the love you and your fiance share with each other, your families, and your guests and capture that! I also want to capture all the details that make your day special. For this reason, I only offer all day coverage. It's usually between 10 and 12 hours of shooting for me because I really don't feel like I can properly tell your story in 4 or 6 hours. Also, I always include an engagement session with every collection. The reason I do this is because I don't think the first time I should be photographing you is on your wedding day. I want you to be comfortable with me and for you to already know how I work. My presence at your wedding should not be stressful and including an engagement session is just one of the ways I ensure a stress free and fun photographic experience. |
