History
Once being owned by the owners of Poland Spring Water Company, this resort has a very diverse background that brought it to where it is today. It was originally named Samoset in 1902 after the people who first met the Pilgrims on this land many years ago. It changed ownership numerous times and even burned down in 1972. Samoset was returned to its glory just two years later and has grown into the award-winning resort it is now.
