About

Patina Events at Brooklyn Botanic Garden in Brooklyn, New York, is an urban wedding venue with country vibes. As they enter this 52-acre oasis in the middle of a bustling city, guests will be swept away by the peaceful and scenic views providing a backdrop for a gorgeous wedding. The natural views are just the beginning for this venue, which also houses two stunning structures available for wedding ceremonies, receptions, engagement parties, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners.

Facilities and Capacity
For larger wedding parties, the glass-walled Palm House can accommodate 125 - 250 seated guests comfortably. This structure is newly renovated and just celebrated its 100th year at Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Ceremonies set in the garden can then be moved to cocktail hour outside the Palm House on the outdoor terrace. The views from inside will continue to amaze attendees as they enjoy a seated reception. A range of 75 - 125 guests can enjoy a more intimate ceremony and reception underneath the living roof at the Lillian and Amy Goldman Atrium. The roof of this building is created with native grasses and wildflowers, and the floor-to-ceiling glass walls provide natural light and views of the garden’s famed Cherry Esplanade. The outdoor terrace is perfect for smaller ceremonies next to the ecologically sustainable Atrium.

Services Offered
On-site, the garden offers a bridal suite to wedding parties on the day of the event, as well as valet parking and wheelchair access for all guests' comfort. Event staff is happy to both set up and clean up event rental items such as chairs, furniture, tables, lighting, a dance floor, and chair covers. Patina Events at Brooklyn Botanic Garden can also supply barware, flatware, linens, china, and glassware for their in-house catering services.

Cuisine
Exclusive catering rights are given to Patina Restaurant Group, which manages iconic venues throughout the country. Their American-style cooking produces delicious food, and they also accommodate special dietary needs with gluten-free, kosher, no pork, vegan, vegetarian, lactose-free, and nut-free options. They can provide a cake for couples, but will also allow couples to bring their own wedding cake from a favorite bakery. Their menus accompany serving styles such as buffet, plated, stations, or family style, and they can also provide a range of hors d’oeuvres for a cocktail reception. Their in-house bar holds a liquor license and can help couples set up an open bar for their reception.

Perfect wedding

Having our wedding at the BBG was perfect. They handled food, venue, seating, etc. and were a well-oiled machine. Our guests raved about the location and the food and on the day of the staff was so supportive and helpful. A guest brought a surprise plus one and the team made it work. I felt a bit ill at one point and the captain went out of her way to take care of me. They were excellent and I’m so glad this was where we got married.

Magical Venue + Premiere Service

The wedding/events team at Brooklyn Botanic Garden (Patina) is spectacular! Victoria was our lead planner and she was organized, attentive, and professional. Throughout the planning process she rolled with the punches, accommodated our every request, and delivered above and beyond our expectations. When we walked into our bridal suite there was an unexpected huge bucket of champagne on ice - what a beautiful touch! Also, the day of, we had someone assigned to just us for food, drink, unpacking, packing up, etc. which meant we literally had nothing to worry about logistically except getting married and having a wonderful time with our guests. As for the overall guest experience, they knocked it OUT OF THE PARK! The food at cocktail hour and dinner was delicious. The waitstaff was attentive, the course roll-out was on time and on point, and the beverage selection across wine, liquor, beer was plentiful and diverse. Truly every detail was perfectly executed, organized, and seamless. Our wedding was already three weeks ago and we still have friends and family telling us how magnificent the wedding was and that was wholly due to the flawless event Patina orchestrated and executed!

Professional, polished, beautiful venue, amazing food

We had a great time working with Patina. They are pricey, but we saved a lot by getting married on a Sunday night. We worked primarily with Emily at first, and then worked closely with Sophia. Both were totally professional and polished and easy to work with. They were responsive (often late at night) and tried to accommodate our needs as best as they could (at times, because the venue is a non-profit organization and a museum open to the public, things were out of their hands).

The venue itself is gorgeous and felt so magical on the day of our wedding. It ultimately was too cold to have the wedding outside (late October), but we didn't mind at all -- the glassed-in atrium was beautiful and airy for the ceremony, and having our cocktail hour in the Steinhardt Conservatory, where our guests could go explore the different plant rooms was so unique and such a big hit. The Palm House was again beautiful for the reception -- much more modern than your typical reception hall (warm lighting and that beautiful chandelier, which looks amazing in photos)

And of course, the food was amazing. At first we were nervous about booking a venue with an in-house caterer because we really wanted modern, restaurant-quality food (we hate tired, old-fashioned wedding food that you often get from in-house caterers). The food was delicious from beginning to end, and full of unexpected surprises and modern touches. Everyone loved our New York appetizing station (complete with bagel wall) and Italian antipasto spread for cocktail hour. The hors d'oeuvres were chic and delicious. And finally, the CAKE!!! Wedding cake is normally so blah. This cake (devil's food with salted caramel mousse) was unbelievable. We felt like we really lucked out with it being included in the package.

Overall, Patina was great to work with and we couldn't imagine a more beautiful space than the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
