Wine corks, wine corks, and more wine corks! Am I tackling on too much?

We're getting married at a winery, so of course I just had to incorporate wine corks as part of my decor. The three ways I plan to do this are:

1) Wine cork place card holders

2) Wine cork seating chart

3) Mason jars with wine corks and a tea light on top, to be part of the centerpieces

Thankfully, my winery provides corks for free, and I've also gotten a ton from my coworkers, so I haven't spent a dime of them.

I need opinions... is it wine cork overload? Should I just stick to one or two projects? Am I overwhelming myself? I've found that cutting the corks for the place card holders and for the seating chart are very time consuming and really, just hurts my hands haha. I mean I still have plenty of time before the wedding to complete them.. I just don't know if it'd be overkill to have so many wine corks everywhere. The pictures I attached is: expectation on the left vs. reality on the right, haha. The large mason jar will have flowers btw.

I like the idea, but I would stick to 1 or 2 things IMO.

I did about three of those wine cork as place holders before I gave up. They were just so tedious.

I think if you give yourself enough time though it could be really nice!

I like the first two, if you were going to keep a theme. Not so sure about the corks on the table since you'll have them on the table with the place/escort cards, too. At least the seating chart should be easy to glue! Smiley laugh

I don't think it's too much. But maybe ask for help to tackle the place card ones if it is getting too much for you. I imagine you would want this done by this year and time gets away sometimes!

I really like your centerpiece idea.

If you're going to scrap one, I'd ditch the place card holders. They totally seem like a pain in the ass!

I think they are good projects and you certainly have a lot of time to do them. Question though: do you need a seating chart if you have place cards?

@Nikki: The seating chart will have the table assignments to direct guests, but our venue requires having place cards at the seats with the entree choices..

@HappilyEverHarris: I happily accept your offer!! Haha. I need all the corks I can get.

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll either have to scrap the place card holders at the tables or the mason jars. Too much wine corks on the table...

I think they are all really cool. If I was doing them and had to scrap one I'd probably scrap the mason jars. I think the place card holders are just too cute.

You could put wine lables over the mason jars and do the cork place cards....

I really like the place card holders. Have a girls night and invite them all over to help drink wine and work on crafts Smiley smile

I am getting married at a winery too! I am going to have wine corks in a wine glass flipped upside-down with a waterfall arrangement on the top, I am doing a wine cork "G", and cutting wine bottles and putting small lights in them for centerpieces. I will also be doing the chalkboard theme around the winery too. I am not going to have assigned seating, but I think all the ideas you have are great and not too much at all. Its hard to get married at a winery and not have a semi wine theme Smiley smile

    edited: attached pinspiration.

    1: pretty self explanatory.

2: where the flower is there will be corks and where the candle is, there will be the waterfall arrangement

3: I will have "twinkle lights" instead of a candles

If you have the time and most of all the patience.. by all means, go for it! Otherwise, I think its too a tedious task to take on & overload.

Oooo I have a tip for you! I did cork placecard holders. To get them flat on the bottom I went outside and rubbed them on the sidewalk until they had a nice flat edge on the bottom. Sooooo much easier than cutting them.

I agree with everyone though, stick to one or two elements. Have fun!

Wilson Creek?? In Temecula??? With the almond champagne???????

I love that winery!! I would stick to whichever 2 are easiest, honestly. Could you do little fake grape clusters, if you want anither winery element?

I think they're all great! I was saving wine corks to make those same place card holders, but since i had an outdoor reception, i had to scrap the idea because they weren't heavy enough to withstand a little breeze.
