Wedding Dress Storage BEFORE Wedding

BeeLauren, on June 16, 2010 at 6:28 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

Hi Everyone,

My dress has come in (and my wedding is in April, early I know), and I was wondering is there anything special I need to do in order to make sure nothing happens to it. I got my dress from AA and they don't provide storage. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

Most people i see store their dress in the bag it came in, but in a place of their house that no one goes into and then gets it cleaned and pressed for the wedding. my dress is being held by the store i bought it from so i don't have to worry about it. see if any local bridal stores would store it for you for a low fee,but since your wedding isn't till next year it may cost you more, but look into it

I'm just keeping mine in my Mom's closet in two plastic bags. I'll have it cleaned and pressed right before the wedding.

And don't worry Bee, I bought early too!

My dress came in early from David's Bridal almost 5 monthes! I just stored in my closet and last weekend took it back to David's so they can press and steam it. I think in the bag in a closet is fine. Good luckSmiley smile

Ok, thanks everyone for your help. I read somewhere to lay it flat on the floor under the bed which seemed just weird.
