Ushers

Hi Abby, my wedding was similar but I didn't have a seating chart. But I did have ushers to give out programs & help escort my mother in law & aunt in during our wedding. If you plan on using your ushers to do the same at your wedding then I think that would be a great Idea to help with seating but a chart would be just as elegant too. Hope I was some help lol.

Our space will be set up the same way and we have two ushers. We're also going to have assigned tables because I refuse to listen to Aunt Sally complain that best friend Joe got a better seat than her for the next thirty years lol. My plan is to have a seating chart for our more self-sufficient guests but also have my two ushers available to help direct/show people to their seats. Since I'm doing the seating chart, I'm not giving them a "cheat sheet." I just asked them if they preferred I list guests in alphabetical order by last name or if I list them by table number. They preferred by name.

And... now i have to add this to my list of things to do lol (you’re not alone ) . I would feel much more at peace knowing there was a seating chart available for guest to also refer to as well . Not because I can’t fully trust your ushers ( meaning if they’re 9-16 year olds) but because having a back up is never a bad idea . If the usher does get flustered he/she can direct the guest to confirm with the seating chart.
