UK bride getting married in florida-wedding license help please??

Hi!! We get married in florida this year in november. We are from the uk and are coming to florida, we are staying in orlando but travelling down to st petersburg where we will get married. Im so confused about the wedding license. I thought this was something you could apply for online but when i emailed the court house to check, they said that it had to be applied for in person when we get there and must bring our passports with us to the court house and apply. Does anyone have any advise? I dont know which court house we need to go to with us staying in orlando, but marrying in st petersburg? Any advise would be appreciated! thanks so much

Diane, I've married many couples from the UK and other countries as well as most of the U.S.

You can get a Fla. marriage license at any county courthouse in the state and use it anywhere in the state. So, if it is more convenient to get it in Orlando, do that.

The two of you will need to go together to the courthouse. Yes, take your passports with you. They will also want to know the dates any previous marriages ended. If less than 60 days ago, bring the papers with you. U.S. residents also need to tell their Social Security numbers.

Thankyou! I was so confused with it, but im glad that it covers all of florida then we can get it whilst we are in orlando before we travel down to st petersburg. Thankyou so much!

The Orange County Courthouse is located at 425 N. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL.
The Pinellas County Courthouse is located at 1800 66th St. N., St. Petersburg, FL.

Yes, they issue it to you the same day you go in the courthouse (during normal biz hours). The courthouse may be closed on Mon., Nov. 12 (in observance of our Veterans' Day) and will be closed on Thurs. & Fri., Nov. 22 & 23 (for our Thanksgiving holiday).
