I will definitely have two dresses only because we are having a beach wedding and I know I will get hot eventually in my first dress. It's always good to have a back up just incase!
I thought about it early on, but as I am closer to my wedding, I decided to save my money and nix it. It all depends on the type of wedding you are having I suppose.
Our wedding reception will end at 10 p.m for a total of 5 hours from ceremony to reception. I want to wear my gown the entire time. I spent good money on it and I took special careful thought to choose that gown. Afterwards many of our closest friends will head over to the hotel we are staying at, and we also reserved suites for our best man and maid of honor for a little after-party. I know myself. I will be exhausted from the day. We also are leaving for our honeymoon at 5 a.m., the next morning after the wedding! I'm thinking of sweat pants to change into for my 2nd attire!! HAHA. So, a 2nd dress would be a useless and frivolous expense. If your reception runs late, get a 2nd gown.
I'm doing 2 dresses know because we are gettin married in Vegas and my first dress is fuller on the bottom. FH wants to hit the casino's that night with guest but still wants the feeling that look for pics so I went with a second wedding dress that is more red carpet looking.
I'm going to have a"second dress" but not at all for the wedding. We are having a morning wedding and if we want to go out later I wanted a small simple white dress. We also hired a photographer on our honeymoon to take photos because my FMIL just got married in Hawaii in Feb and I was absolutely in LOVE with the photographer they used. And she offered us a decent price to do photos there.
Joelle the second one you picked looks more like a BM dress. Stick with your original! You look great in it and you want to look and feel like the bride all day! I think it's silly to buy a second dress unless you have certain circumstances where you really need that second dress.
That second dress is not a bridal dress. You might even have guests who are more overdressed than you are if you change into that. Your wedding dress is beautiful and I really think you should stick with that for the day. I am really confused about the two dress trend. I didn't spend so much money on a dress to take it off after an hour.
I wouldn't want a second dress because I love my dress so much that I wouldn't want to change out of it. My thought has always been that I only get to wear such an awesome dress once I can't imagine changing into a simpler dress for the reception which ends up being the majority of the night. If I had wanted that kind of dress I would have gotten that as my first dress. But to each their own and everyone should do what will make their night the happiest.
