Is Walt Disney World a good Honeymoon spot?

Sarah , on July 26, 2012 at 4:55 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 20

I'm thinking of staying at one of the Deluxe resort hotels and then getting 3 days to the Parks.

I'm the biggest Disney fan ever! My wedding is going to be Cinderella themed at a wonderful venue. My dream honeymoon would definitely be Disney World.

We've been to Disney World twice together but IMO opinion it's too busy for me for a honeymoon. Everything feels hectic and rushed lol

Absolutely lLOVE Disney World! Went there for the first time on my honeymoon many years ago. Have been back on average every other year and still find it just as enchanting as the first time. Heading there again for a week in October, as we've always wanted to do Disney for Halloween.

Great place for a honeymoon. Check out their website (disney.go.com) or talk to your travel agent. They'll have lots of ideas for things to do as a couple beyond just enjoying the parks. (although with three days, park hopping may be just enough)

And don't be afraid to stay on-site. Really good perks come with that including being able to make restaurant reservations months in advance. Disney also runs a lot of special packages, esp. in the off season, so check on those too. We booked our upcoming October vacation back in February and went with a cheaper hotel to save money. Just yesterday they came out with a free meal package so we were able to change our reservation into a moderate hotel (Carribean Beach) with free meals for the week for no more money.

Welcome to WW, Sarah! Are you really getting married 10 years from now, or did you just put something in to fill the space? You'll have plenty of time to plan the wedding that way!

I agree with Amy, Disney wouldn't be a good honeymoon for me. Perhaps a Disney cruise? That should at least be more relaxing -- despite it being aimed at families, I've heard good things about their cruises from couples. Weird.

And please don't forget to update your avatar so we can remember you and help you more in the future! Here's how to do that and more: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/new-to-the-weddingwire-forums-please-read-before-you-post/b433c40c1a62b96a.html

I did a Disney World honeymoon and Amy and Reenski are right - if you want something relaxing DO NOT do a Disney World honeymoon. Smiley xd We had fun and all but had no relaxation!

Plus you would not be able to see/experience it all in 3 days. We spent 5 days and did 2 parks/day and still missed stuff! Its a fun place for sure and we had a blast but we were soooo tired when we finally got home.

I would second a cruise. That would be Disney fun and relaxing. Good luck!

@Sarah & Mindy -- I couldn't tell you guys apart until I read your names. Will you please update your avatars so we can remember you and help you more in the future? Not to mention to not confuse you with other brides. Thanks!

We got engaged at Disney and it was so romantic! They have pins to commemorate it - everyone congratulated us and we got to move to the front of lines, free pins, lots of smiles. Just get the wedding Mickey/Minnie hats and let yourself enjoy being a kid - share ice cream, talk to the characters. I'd say it's totally made for being in love!

Went to Disney in early May. It was the BEST TIME EVER. It was the week of the 14th and it was so slow, we were there four days and had so much time to do everything, ride wait times were around 10 minutes for the most part!

I would want to go back for our HM but it IS exhausting so we are doing a different type of vacation for our HM.

We're doing a Disney World Honeymoon and I couldn't be more excited. I know what to expect while at Disney so the crowds and the lines don't bother me. It's a magical place and I'm a Huge Disney Fan. We almost got married there but it was just way out of the price range. FH and I are not the types that can just sit on a beach and drink so we thought Disney would be the perfect place for us! We can relax in the evenings at our hotel bar on the waterfront!

But this is coming from somebody who does Disney 3 times in one year and STILL finds it as magical as the first time! Our Wedding is Disney themed, with a very strong nod to Beauty and the Beast!
