My sister just got married this past weekend and is on her HM. Every hour or two she is on fb. It isn't just like she is excited and posting pictures of her trip, she has literally been on fb the whole time entering stupid contest, sharing memes, updating pics and statuses I can't believe it!It got me thinking have you talked to your fh about electronics and the HM,do you need to?We already discussed we would bring our laptops and cellphones. Our laptops we will only use when we are winding down and getting ready for bed, and our cellphones we will have one on us the whole time, just for time, pictures, and to meet up with people seen as we are having a DW. Where do you stand?Would it bother you if FH was on social media sites your entire HM or would you not care?

FH and I are taking our phones for photo ops, and I have to take my laptop because I have to do homework while I'm on our hm. Dumb, I know. The laptop might be good for us though to be able to look-up things to do while we're there!

Some people are just tethered to their electronics! It's sad!

We brought ours phones for the time but DH was on his phone playing this stupid game several times so i clicked random things on his screen out of anger and apparently sold some very important hard to get stuff (ha!) he stopped playing after that

Luckily for me, FH only uses Twitter. I'm on pretty much everything, but am pretty lame with posting stuff. He'll need to have both his phone and laptop because of work, but other than that, we'll be relaxing and drinking. Maybe we'll post something pictures, but nothing crazy.

See this is why I'm glad we are doing a cruise. Phones don't really work too well on them. We will have our phones for picture taking purposes but that's it. I will call my son (who is staying with my parents while we are gone) one day but that's all we are doing.

I'm so lucky in that my FH has ZERO interested in social media or texting. If you want to get in touch with him, you call. As for me, I'll probably be on FB adding a FEW pics of our honeymoon but that's it. I can't see spending more time on my phone than soaking up & enjoying the quality time with FH.

    @Laura that is funny!

My FH also doesn't get into his phone at all, neither do I really. I might upload a few pictures to fb at the end of the day but I probably will just wait until I get home in all honesty!

We had ours. Played a lot of candy crush! We had a lot of lounging around time, not like we'd just be staring into each other's eyes. I don't really see how it's different from reading a book by the pool or something. We used his iPad for movies on the plane and that was it. We carried them for pictures and stuff, but weren't using them all the time at dinner and stuff like he does at home.

ANYTIME I go on vacation, I bring my phone (that I always let die and keep in my carry on until I charge it the night before we leave) and my ipad. I may surf FB in the morning while drinking coffee or while we are getting ready to leave the room but thats it. I never take the phone with me out because most of the time we are places where I won't get service and I just use my camera and upload the pix when I get home

We won't have internet or phone service, and couldn't be more excited about it. We both feel that a honeymoon is for spending time with your new spouse, and we're both on the computer all day every day for work. It will be a wonderful break to not be in contact with the outside world.

FH is addicted to his laptop and his music downloads. I know there is no way he is leaving it for 2 weeks while we are on our HM. It doesn't bother me because all I got to do is tell him I need to talk and he turns it off immediately and gives me his full attention. As far as social media goes I am addicted to FB and will probably post pictures of us on HM but only on down time. I am not taking any time away from my FH for anyone LOL. I cannot leave home without my cell phone. If something should go wrong with my kidney and I end up in the emergency room I have to have all my specialist telephone numbers. If it wasn't for that we both agreed we would turn them off and leave them home for the 2 weeks.

We are taking our cell phones purely for contacting our family back home (to check on the kids at night) We plan to leave them in the room during the day, in the safe. For pictures I plan on using one of those old fashioned hand held cameras lol. No one will see or hear from us for 8 days! But when we get home, look out social media, pictures will be flyin!!

We will bring phones but only for pictures. We're going to Mexico and I don't plan on buying any international minutes because I want to be left alone. We will bring the Ipad and my nook but mostly for the plan ride. I'm going to enjoy my time off from the world and enjoy FH's company

We brought my husband's phone but had it on airplane mode the whole time we were gone so we couldn't get charged any roaming since we were out of the country. We did use our Kindle Fire to check e-mail and look on Facebook. We didn't post anything but we would scroll through our feeds (mostly looking for our photographer's preview album and friends' photos of the wedding) and check e-mail about once a day (our resort only had wifi in the restaurant area, so we would bring the Kindle to breakfast and then leave it back in our room the rest of the day). My grandmother had hip surgery just a few days after the wedding so we wanted to be able to stay somewhat connected. We played games together on the Kindle as well, especially in the airports waiting on flights.

Ugh, I have a friend who went to Ireland for her honeymoon and checked in at EVERY castle, bar, restaurant, hotel, etc. I'm like, PUT YOUR PHONE AWAY!!!!

We are bringing out cell phones, Kindles, and his iPad. If we need to access email we can do it on his iPad, but we don't intend to. We'll have our cell phones because, well, we can't live without them, but we will NOT be posting on Facebook or Twitter or whatever else. We'll have the Kindles for reading, obviously ... and the iPod we might use in the evenings if we're lounging inside and want some Netflix ... or if we accidentally get sunburned and spend more time inside than we want to which is inevitable.

I'm sure we will have our phones but I plan on turning mine on airplane mode if I have it on at all just so that I can take some pictures. My new phone takes awesome pictures so I figure why not! You best believe I'm not going to be on social media, we only get to honeymoon once, why would I spend all of our time together playing on there?

We'll have our phones so that we can use the GPS on them. We are going to be driving to find some really fun stuff.

We will bring our phones to keep track of time and also to take pictures. I might go old school like Rigby and bring an actual camera... But neither DH or myself are FB junkies. We might just browse, but that's pretty much it. We def would be in the water a lot. This is DH first time leaving the US and both of our first time staying at an all inclusive resort. And FH loves to swim!

The hotel has wi-fi, but based on the reviews it only works good in certain parts - which worksout best for us... We will truly use our HM to unplug and enjoy each other... This would also be out first trip together.

We do plan on bringing books to read on the beach or pool side.

I would say maybe 1 hour before bed or during breakfast for social media, upload a fun photo from the days adventure, or check in on messages etc. but other than that, put them away. just to focus on quality time together. we can sit on separate couches and look at instagram at home, honeymoon should be different.

We are HMing in Maui and are are bringing our cell phones. I think it's pretty much in case of emergency and we need to look up or contact/be contacted back home. We're using a digital camera for photos and a GPS for navigating. I have no intention of browsing or updating Facebook. This is our first vacation together in our 6 years! I only plan on using the iPad for entertainment for traveling, and maybe a ebook, and if we want to watch a movie together. Other than that, I plan to be pretty disconnected. We'll even use a GPS system so I don't have to use my phone to navigate. I spend plenty of my regular life on Facebook and don't get the HMs that are minute-by-minute updated on Facebook,
