We finally got our pro pics back from our 11/8/14 wedding, so here's my official BAM post! We had a wonderful day with friends and family. Quite a few things didn't go as planned, but at the end of the day I married my best friend so none of them really mattered. =)

First comment is my advice. The rest of the comments are our pro pics. =)

Only invite the people that you really want to have there. Remember—you are going to give up a chunk of your limited time to each guest on what is arguably one of the most important days of your life.

Find out how long your videographer is planning to stay at your reception. I didn’t, and he shot out of there immediately after the bridal dance. I was really bummed when I realized we didn’t have any footage of our guests enjoying the evening.

Not only do I recommend getting a videographer, but I recommend paying more for a better-quality one.

IF you are prone to cold sores, take L-lysine as a preventative measure for a few weeks or months leading up to your wedding. I woke up with a ginormous cold sore the Thursday before our wedding. There’s only so much makeup can cover. It was my worst nightmare come true. Most important advice I can give.

Have the wedding that you want to have. Take time to put thought into the details. It might add to your stress, but the memories will be worth it.

Pay attention at the rehearsal. Don’t just expect your officiant to give you cues throughout the ceremony about what you are to be doing, what you are to be looking at, etc.

Do whatever it takes to get a good night’s sleep beforehand. Don’t count on adrenaline to get you through.

If you and your FH are planning to walk around and visit tables during the reception, plan to start early & catch tables just as they are finishing up dinner. FH and I waited too long, and people were already mingling when we started. Long-story-short, we were pulled in a million different directions, hardly spent any time together the entire evening, and only talked to a fraction of our guests. It was chaos.

Spend money on a good photographer that will have high-quality photos returned to you promptly.

TAKE A SEWING KIT, SUPPLIES, AND SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO SEW. Be prepared.

Even if you don’t think you want to change into a different dress at the reception, take one to keep in the car plus a pair of flats just in case you change your mind.

Most importantly, take time throughout the day to pause and take it all in. Look at your husband. Think about what you are doing or what you just did. Get excited about the fact that you and your best friend are promising forever to each other.
