Downsizing the wedding

Katie, on September 18, 2020 at 12:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
So before covid we were going to have a 10k wedding with 100 guests and paying 5k in food. Our plan was to get a house a year after being married but now my fiance wants a home like yesterday. It doesn't bother me to change our plans and get a home sooner than later because then it means we can start earlier to have kids. I'll be 30 next year and was constantly stressing over having a baby in my mid 30s, I know people have had kids in their late 30s and early 40s and everything works out great but I just always have that omg if I don't start soon it will never happen. So we decided to start look for our first home and hopefully have the keys to our house by summer. So now that we have decided to get a house a lot sooner, we decided that regardless if our state ups the amount of people we are allowed to have at our wedding that we still will have only 50 people. We are going to have a potluck dinner since it's only family. It will just be a lot easier with money and with the stress of planning a wedding during covid. We are going to have a party later on at our house if we get one with just friends that we wanted at the wedding.

That sounds like a good plan. Just make sure the guests know it's potluck.
