Loved how my wedding dresses turned out!

I took my wedding dress to Usha's in February 2020 for my May wedding. Although my wedding had to be postponed due to COVID, the turnaround time was very fast. Usha did a wonderful job so I took 2 other dresses to her (rehearsal dinner and reception dresses). Usha is great at what she does and I'm glad to have found a trustworthy and reasonably priced seamstress in St. Louis.

    Wedding Dress Alterations

I bought my dress two weeks before my wedding day. I needed it hemmed and taken in on the waist. I went straight to Usha and she had my dress done two days before my wedding! She is super sweet and professional. My dress was perfect and fit like a glove!

I was so nervous to pick a tailor...

My wedding was 4 weeks away when I finally got my dress that needed a hem and to be taken in. Usha was so fast and sweet and I felt way undercharged by her. Trust her and you won't be dissappointed.

    Usha's Alteration & Tailoring's reply:

Thanks Alice for appreciating our work! We wish you every happiness and success in your married life.

    Horrible customer service

If you are wanting to feel like the most confident and beautiful version of yourself for your wedding day then DO NOT go to Usha’s alterations. While getting fitted she will also be working on other customers as well so you will not be made to feel special in ANY way. They will not make you aware of any prices and when you ask for them to explain AVOID speaking to the man, his name is Kumar Bishnupuri. He will become aggressive and will point his finger directly at your face with no distance. He made my mother and 8 year old daughter feel EXTREMELY unsafe. He was filled with a lot of hostility even tho they were the ones to ruin my wedding dress. Horrible customer service and no communication whatsoever. I had my final wedding dress alterations done today and my dress was completely RUINED. It was scrunched up on the sides, not smooth or form fitting like we discussed at the fitting. The lady made a comment that it was the zipper and my body. So they also will take no accountability for their mistakes. Please read their responses for their negative reviews, it will prove my point of them taking no accountability. AVOID USHA’S ALTERATIONS AT ANY COST!!!!!!!! Especially if you want to feel special for your big day!

    Usha's Alteration & Tailoring's reply:

Following your drama at our customer desk, watched and witnessed by tens of other customers, this review with your expression was quite expected. All of the customers who witnessed your behavior has an unanimous view that individual like you make hostile situations at most of the places with an ultimate aim to avoid paying bills. Although, it would be a wastage of our time to respond you and your comments, we would like to give our point-wise explanation, and leave the rest on our valued customers to take message from your comments. First of all you should be truthful while describing the nature of work for which you are writing this comment. You were here with 3 of your dresses: one was your original wedding dress (by a common definition), which you accepted and picked up as rightly done, second was your mom's Mother of Bride dress, that too was accepted and picked up with a best possible quality of work. Then comes the 3rd one, which you are wrongfully describing as a wedding dress with a clear cut intension to harm us by conveying a wrong message to our customers. It was a short dress of satin material, and as per your description you wish to use it for reception or cocktail. You wanted it to be skin tight as pasted on your body. We did everything what we promised to do at the time of fitting/taking measurements, but somehow it didn't come out as you have dreamed it to be. We just tried to give you a possible explanation that your dress had a side zipper, hence could be one of reasons it is not pasting on your lower part of your body, and we expressed our intension to work on it to make you satisfy as much as possible. But due to your own anger and hostile behavior you were not ready to listen anything from us and created a huge drama on our customer desk. On the top of it, your mom started challenging the prices on the ticket and started saying that you are not willing to pay the bill. That's the whole episode, watched and witnessed by tens of our customers. Second issue is that you described in a post on Facebook that the presence of our valued customers at the store was like as a mad house. We totally agree that we have a very large customer base with more than 20,000 of highly satisfied ones served in last 9 years, and individual like you are the rarest of rare. We always welcome our customers and try to serve them best of our capacity. That's the reason we get lots of customers and they understand the limit of a facility like us, wait for their turn without challenging others. Individual like you believe that once you are inside the store, we should close the doors for other customers to make you feel special. But after hours of attention and days of work, you will come up with some excuses for not paying your bill. For us, all of our customers are highly valued and we always try our best to feel them special. Our customers were very right that day and pointed out that if you didn't have like the dress, you wouldn't have pick it up. All you wanted not to pay the bill and enjoy the dress at free of cost service. Now, with above explanation we leave on our valued customers to take a right message from your post/review.
