First of all I am not a hair person at all where I barely bother to comb my hair and rarely cut it, and to the point where I just cut it straight and trim it myself. My hair is usually stick straight and very boring. Any curling I do it becomes straight again shortly after, and usually falls flat or apart in a few hours. Angelica was amazing, my hair survived the Chicago heat and humidity on our August wedding date. We had a trial and she was able to put together 3 different hairdos in 45 minutes. It was so impressive how she is able to make the hair move and do what she wants. She is truly an artist, sculpting and creating such an authentic look with your hair. She just transports you to a different time and era. Her personality is so reflective of this as she is so gentle, genuine, and gracious. She arrived on time and is easy to talk to, get along with, and flexible. I felt so happy after the trial do that I hugged her and couldn't wait for her to do my hair for the wedding! I actually looked forward to it instead of dreading it. She is a natural genius and makes such a unique and classic look. I had so many compliments and the overall look was absolutely fitting for me and I felt stunning. What was impressive was that she created a different look for 5 other family members. She did this all herself without an assistant. She just exceeded my expectations and totally got me and family on the right mood and start for the wedding day. I couldn't be happier and would certainly recommend her to others.

This place is awesome. Our wedding venue was a two floor loft space full of salvaged architectural materials, antiques, and vintage decor. So, naturally, we wanted our wedding to have a "vintage" feel. Enter Tigerlilie Salon, the only salon in Chicago that specializes in vintage styling. First, let me say the whole group was great - I had to cancel my trial appointment/cut & color TWICE! And they never got snippy with me. I was a wreck. Way behind on everything, unorganized, and my health was not so great (immediately after my wedding I got very sick for two weeks with bronchitis that was very close to being pneumonia). So, yeah, I was a mess.
Cortnie was awesome. She transformed me into an old-hollywood screen siren, and kept me entertained with great conversation the whole time! The magic she worked with my hair and makeup had everyone I knew doing double-takes. And she was so genuine and easy-going. It was nice to have someone so relaxed around me during such a hectic time. I look forward to going back to see her for all my future haircuts and to treat myself to fun vintage style and some gorgeous eye makeup once in a while! Oh, did I mention she is a wizard with the highlights? BEST. HIGHLIGHTS. EVER.

Love it! I wanted a vintage up do that would last (I have thick hair) and I found it at Tigerlilie. I now use Angelica Rivera as my permeant hair stylist. She was fantastic at many types of hair and had very competitive pricing! Angelica aways makes me feel fantastic and was even willing to travel to my location. She did my up-do and all the girls and she airbrushed my make up! So wonderful! My up-do was perfect... it lasted the whole night. Check out their website for their portfolios!

Antje is an artist. An incredibly talented artist. She is classically trained and KNOWS her stuff.

Seriously, words CANNOT describe how amazing our hair turned out. At $85 per updo, she was also a steal. She opened up her shop for us on a day she is normally closed, and even let us bring our own makeup artist, though she offers makeup through her salon. People were raving about our vintage-styled hair all night. One of my bridesmaids liked her so much that she grabbed a bunch of business cards in anticipation of the many compliments she got. She distributed all of them!

My friend had a great experience with Antje on her wedding day and highly recommended her. Now I want to highly recommend her too. She did an absolutely fantastic job on my hair for my wedding. I live in Portland, OR so could not do a practice style with her, however I brought lots of pictures and suggestions, and she just jumped right in. She was honest but constructive with her recommendations. She specializes in vintage hair styles, and ended giving me a slightly vintage look, which I loved. She was also very personable and friendly which helped to put me at ease at a very anxious time. She also did my makeup, which looked natural and appropriate. My hair lasted for most of the day, with a bit of it coming out after dancing the night away for several hours, however this could have easily been fixed if I had cared more about my hair then having fun. Another thing that I thought was great about this salon is they called me the day before my appointment to tell me that there was a festival in Lincoln Square that weekend so arrive early to find parking.
