  We got married at Thistle Golf Club this past weekend and it was truly a fairytale wedding!! Besides the stunning clubhouse and grounds, the service was impeccable. I could not have asked for a more perfect experience!! We fell in love with Thistle the first time we saw it, we visited every potential venue, Thisle was our "total package" wedding site. We had a destination wedding, so we only visited two times during the planning period. Not one single detail was missed. Our wedding and reception were perfect!

  We choose thistle golf club as the venue for our wedding, and we are so glad that we did! The thistle clubhouse is castle-like inside and out, and the views of the prestine golf course add to the effect. Jamie Roderick was very helpful in all aspects of the wedding planning process, and accomodating in every sense of the word. He was always prompt in responding to questions and flexible to help us create our own vision. The day of the wedding was what really made us glad that we choose thistle. The pictures do not do thistle justice. The ceremony site, reception area, and the dance floor could not have been more perfect. But the best part by far was Jamie and his staff. Chef Arthur is amazing. He guided us through entree choices, hor dourves, salads, etc.. and he absolutely blew it out of the water the day of. I am still getting compliments from guests about the food. By far one of the best filets many of my guests have ever had. In addition to this, the presentation of the food was magical. Each table was served individually in a choreographed manner, like something you would see in a movie! The bar service was also impeccable. Guest wait times were very short, and the bar tenders are well educated on mixed drinks. If you need proof, go to thistle for lunch and get a bloody mary, they are better than any restaurant i have tried. I could go on for pages about this venue and the staff! Thank you Jamie and the thistle staff! We were blown away!

  My husband and I got married last week at Thistle Golf Club. The venue was absolutely stunning and the food was unbelievably good. Chef Arthur Thomas is absolutely amazing. My guests are still talking about his food, his hospitality, and his obvious passion for cooking. We didn't get a chance to taste any of our food before our wedding day, but Chef Arthur far exceeded our expectations. Our wedding was a destination wedding and we only got a chance to visit the venue once during the planning process. We instantly fell in love with the gorgeous clubhouse and grounds and booked the venue that day. A few months after booking, we got an email that the event coordinator was no longer with the company so we began working with another member of the team. He was amazing and so responsive to all our questions and concerns. Unfortunately a month before our wedding we were told he had also left the company and were given yet another new contact. At first there seemed to be a lot of confusion regarding details and pricing that were already discussed with the previous 2 contacts, but in the end it all worked out. We originally planned to have our ceremony on the beach and our reception at the clubhouse, but because of rain we had to move our ceremony at the last minute. Thistle was very accommodating and everything turned out beautifully. The staff were all so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and more. As far as value, Thistle wins by far. They were the only venue around the Sunset Beach area that gave us a discount for having a weekday wedding. I found this truly amazing considering they were also the most beautiful venue around. I highly recommend Thistle Golf Club to anyone looking to get married in the Sunset Beach area.

  First of all, I have to say Thistle is one of the most beautiful venues we toured. We were blown away. However, do not book here if you expect them to follow through with your wedding. We booked our June 2018 wedding 17 months in advance since I am in medical school and we had a non-flexible date that we were planning to get married on. We drove from 8 hours away on our one weekend off from school to go tour this venue and we booked and paid the entire rental price the following week. We went on to book several other vendors over the following months. Everything was great until Thistle decided to have their Pub Manager call one Friday evening and inform us Thistle was cancelling all weddings. No one would return my call until the following Monday and I still was not able to speak to anyone in charge of making the decision to cancel my wedding. It also took an additional 2 weeks to have my money refunded to me. We now have vendors all booked 8 hours away from our home with no wedding venue. Thankfully we still are 13 months away from our wedding and are going to be able to tour more venues, but I could not imagine being a bride where they cancelled only 3 months before a wedding. I would not recommend anyone book a wedding here.
