    Beautiful grounds!

As a makeup artist who frequents here often for our brides I have seen many weddings at this resort! The staff are amazing and go over the top to make it special and flawless. I love the breathtaking views and lighting this resort offers for photos at sunset! - Big Island Hawaii Makeup

    Destination Wedding

This venue is amazing! The staff was very helpful and their attention to detail was exceptional. The food was exquisite and the planning and lead up to the wedding was such a breeze, especially since I was so far away. I was worried how my reception would turn out and it was amazing; the view in itself was worth it. If you're planning a destination wedding in Hawaii The Westin should be at the top of your list.

The love I have for Hapuna Beach Prince Resort & Mauna Kea Resort is unreal.

First, we had our wedding and reception at Hapuna Beach Prince Resort. This place is AMAZING. We got married on the breezeway which is a huge balcony overlooking the ocean and greenery of the Big Island. We had our reception at the Courtyard, a perfect area for a wedding reception. Our guests loved this location. The pool, rooms, and beach are amazing. Our guests have even planned vacations months after our wedding to return!

Second, we had our rehearsal dinner next door at Mauna Kea. Such a perfect location for a rehearsal dinner, which was so beautifully set up. The sunset was beautiful and the staff is great and very flexible. We worked with catering to create a set menu, which helped make it affordable, and our guests enjoyed it.

I highly recommend you plan your wedding here. I loved every minute of our wedding weekend and wish we could relive it over and over!!!

First things first, we got married at Turtle Point at the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel on the big Island. It was very beautiful and everyone loved it - including my new bride.

Next, we had the reception at the Kamani room at the hotel - and it was a great place to have a reception. The room is beautiful - I would say it could comfortably be a great venue for up to 70 people. There is room for the buffet, bar, and a dance floor that could easily have 30+ folks on it at any one time.

People loved the food - we had the Japanese buffet. Bring an appetite, the Prince Hotel loads up on the food.

Also, my wedding coordinator - Wendy - was awesome! Very trustworthy and a great coordinator. I would highly recommend her.

We recently got married at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel this past August. We knew from the moment we visited that this was where we wanted to get married. We viewed a few other venues on the Big Island, as well as Kauai but ultimately decided Mauna Kea held a special place in our hearts. We went back and forth with a few different wedding planners at the hotel before being assigned to LaRoma. I cannot say enough about LaRoma and how easy she was to work with. We live in California so planning a destination wedding is somewhat challenging. LaRoma always listened to our questions and concerns and ultimately helped us create the most amazing wedding week. One thing to note is that with so many weddings going on and the overall Hawaiian way of life (that I'm not used to!) sometimes it took a little longer than I would have liked to get a response. However we had complete faith in LaRoma and knew our events would be perfect. We held our Welcome Dinner at the Hau Tree which was the absolute perfect location for this event. It was amazing to be on the beach to watch the sunset and helped to create a Hawaiian feel that we were looking for. Our wedding ceremony took place on the North Pointe Lawn followed by a cocktail reception and seated reception at the Luau Grounds. The entire day went smoothly thanks to LaRoma and our wedding planner Rachael with Vintage & Lace. They were easy to work with and always kept our needs front of mind. The venue is truly one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and LaRoma and her team created the most unforgettable Welcome Dinner and Wedding for us. The weather was perfect, the venue was incredible and everyone had the most amazing time. I would highly recommend choosing The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel for your outdoor wedding, you won't regret it!

Karen Warthman (the Assistant Catering & Convention Services Manager) was great! She was very helpful -- great service. She showed us all the venues available for use at two hotel properties. She offered great suggestions and ideas. She was very accommodating. Her focus was to help us have the wedding we wanted and a great one to remember. She definitely accomplished that. We received wonderful service. She is a great representative of The Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel.

This place is gorgeous. The hotel has a wedding venue area that overlooks the ocean and is somewhat offset from the rest of the hotel. The hotel itself is also somewhat isolated, which I thought was great for a wedding. They have a beautiful beach and pool. The planner was very nice and extremely organized on the day of the ceremony. They provided the photographer, minister, flowers and music. It all came together perfectly. My only complaint would be that the regular hotel staff isn't very friendly, or accomodating. They didn't upgrade us to an ocean view room- even though we were staying there for two weeks and having our ceremony and reception there and were rude to my parents when they asked if we could be upgraded. My other issue was that I felt like they were trying to squeeze out every cent they could from me...they charged me ninety dollars to press my dress (i could have done it myself) and ended up charging me for a speaker set up that i hadn't requested. Despite these issues, the wedding itself was perfect...so I would still do it there again.
