The Highlands Estate is a gorgeous place to have your wedding. My husband and I fell in love with the site the moment we saw it and were thrilled to be the venues’ first wedding. We also loved owners Gard and Whitney, whose genuine warmth, flexibility and professionalism demonstrated to us that they cared as much about our wedding as we did. When we expressed concern we could not accommodate their preferred pick up time for rentals, without incurring a large fee, without hesitation, Gard and Whitney worked with us to find an agreeable solution. They also responded to our questions quickly, worked well with our venders, and were extremely patient when we ran into problems with our DJ.Sent on 04/14/2016
We held our ceremony on their beautiful lawn, under a large Oak tree with sweeping views of the surrounding mountains and vineyards, giving us stunning photos. Just above the ceremony site is the patio for our cocktail hour, which is big enough for the large tent we had set up in case of rain.
The best part of this venue is the beautiful barn where we hosted our reception. The barn is sophisticated with a touch of rustic charm and included handmade 8ft dining tables, market lights strung inside for perfect mood lighting, along with many other thoughtful details. I especially enjoyed the special hide away room for the bride to retouch makeup and keep personal items. The catering staff enjoyed the private catering room, outside prep area, and ease of moving staff and food around behind the scenes. Our guests loved the location and commented how special and unique it made our wedding. The space is open countryside but completely intimate at the same time.
The site also features a B&B that Gard and Whitney run year round where we were able to get ready and spend the night making it so low stress for us. The Highlands Estate is a must see venue, for anyone with their own special day on the horizon.

This dynamic venue has it ALL.
This venue has it ALL. Whitney and Gard have designed the dream venue and they aren't done, they continue to make improvements and add features all the time. There are so many tiny details that make all the difference, for example the hidden speakers at the ceremony site, the DJ booth up top so they have full view of everything and can adjust as needed. There are roads around the site to ensure ease of transport for guests and the bridal party. Even though the ceremony site and reception are next to each other, because of the layering of the landscape, you get a different vibe in all areas, creating a dynamic venue fit for all styles. The 4 seasons barn ensures stress free planning as you always have a fall back. I loved that i had a special room for me and my bridesmaids before the wedding to relax in and then my husband and I got to relax for a few minutes after the ceremony - those 5 minutes felt like a lifetime and were so valuable. The cherry on top for me were the farm tables provided - NO other venue does this!!
The venue is amazing, but it's a testament to Whitney and Gard and their passion for weddings and creating a magical seamless experience for their couples. They are so warm and kind and genuinely excited to be a part of your day, it feels like you are working with family. I can not recommend this venue enough for any couple!!Sent on 04/05/2020

Beautiful venue with superb owners
Not only is the property at the Highlands Estate one of the most beautiful venues I've seen, Whitney and Gard (the owners) make planning and hosting a wedding here such a dream.
The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. There are stunning views all over the property. From the oak tree on the hill to the ceremony site to the tree lined driveway, you can't ask for a better backdrop to get married in.
The venue already has much of the equipment you need onsite. Gard personally built double wide farm tables (enough space to have a center piece and a family style dinner) and there are enough chairs onsite for the ceremony + reception depending on your guest count. They have amazing facilities for the catering team to prep in and the bridal suite is very cute and comfortable. They have plenty of tables and other furniture to help round out your event and minimize rentals. While you hopefully won't need them, the venue has extremely powerful backup generators onsite, just in case the power goes out.
While Whitney and Gard do strongly prefer that you use vendors from their preferred list, everyone on their list is absolutely fantastic. You know that if a vendor has made the cut, you can rest assured any services they provide will be fantastic.
I could go on and on about the little touches that make this venue amazing but at the end of the day, Whitney and Gard really put it over the top. Our wedding was unfortunately affected by fires in nearby Geyserville. Both Whitney and Gard were on call the days leading up the wedding helping us find alternate arrangements for guests who hotels were impacted. They even offered to let us use one of their backup generators to power our Airbnb so we could get ready as planned. While the fires caused some hiccups in our original arrangements, Whitney and Gard did everything in their power to minimize the impact without putting anyones' safety at risk.
If you're lucky enough to find an available date at this venue, take it. Your wedding will be more than you ever imagined.Sent on 01/05/2020

The Highlands Estate is a very special place, and our wedding here in August 2017 was pure magic. We had our ceremony on the lawn, and the hilly backdrop was straight out of a fairytale. The weather was lovely, with a gentle breeze and a shady oak tree. Cocktail hour was twinkly and full of joy, with games and conversation. Then we ate dinner outdoors on Gard’s beautiful handmade tables. My husband and I snuck off for some dreamy photo shoots, as the landscape is varied and unique. And then we had a mega fun dance party in the barn. Busses picked up our guests and took them to their hotels, including a lovely place called the Old Crocker Inn. All of our guests have raved to us about the venue, and are grateful to have had an opportunity to come to this unique destination.Sent on 11/21/2017
Whitney and Gard are an absolute pleasure to work with. They are professional and incredibly kind. They are attentive to detail, and all of their design choices are tasteful and state of the art. Our vendors were so appreciative of how thorough they are. And believe me, you will you want your vendors to be happy and have an easy time.
One of our most cherished aspects of the whole weekend was staying with our family at the b&b. Our bridal party came over early Saturday morning for the best day ever. The honeymoon suite is perfect for hair and makeup. The pool, groomsmen den, and huge common area make for fun memories.
We did hours of research on venues in wine country with a barn, and upon visiting we knew immediately that this was the one. You won’t find another site like it, and your guests will thank you for it. It’s hard to imagine a better setting. Having our wedding at the Highlands was an auspicious start to our marriage, and we can’t wait to come back for anniversaries.
The Highlands Estate's reply:It was our honor to have your wine country wedding at our venue! It was so fun to see your day that you dreamed of all come together. Thank you for picking us as your wedding venue!
