  I was the Event Planner and Decorator for a dance held at this venue. It was a large event with dinner, dancing and elaborate theme decor. The hall is a great size and can easily be transformed into any style or theme imaginable. The possibilities are endless. Chris and the entire staff at the venue ensured that all of our needs were met. They were really flexible as far as set up, tear down and use of additional areas for staging decor and behind the scenes needs. Great central Akron location. Easy access to freeways from Cleveland and Canton.
  I work with many venues for weddings, galas and events all over Akron and this one definitely has a lot to offer. I recommend checking it out.

  Chris, the Event Coordinator at the reception hall, was extremely helpful and friendly and hospitable. She is passionate about seeing her client's wedding dreams come to life. Down to every last detail. Her creativity was a great strength when it came down to deciding on the right lighting, ideas for decorating the entrance to the hall, and suggesting things we hadn't thought of before. The reception was like a dream come true. Everything ran so smoothly! The food was delicious! The cooks were aware of any food allergies and were sure to accommodate as needed. The table settings were beautiful. We are so happy we chose The Greek Community for our reception and will recommend it to anyone looking for a good experience and someone they can trust. -Kristen & Aaron

  We had a fabulous cocktail hour and wedding reception, thanks to Chris Archer and her amazing staff! The food was delicious, and so reasonably priced. Her experience and attention to detail were so important to the comfort and the enjoyment of our families and guests! The building may not look like much from the outside, but with their beautiful twinkle lights on the ceiling, up-lighting on the walls (included!!), door decorations, and other gorgeous decor, the venue transforms! We were so impressed with every detail of our reception - and Chris even went the extra mile to include a surprise mini s'mores bar to make my dad's day! We were all thrilled with the service we received. Thank you so much for everything you did to make our day so special! We are all so grateful!

  We had the most amazing wedding reception thanks to Chris Archer and staff. Everything was planned out well in advance, all details were noted, and follow through was amazing. Chris and her staff spent many hours prepping the main hall and adjoining rooms for the party. We had 260 guests and they all had a great time! We had beautiful table decor, using the centerpieces from the hall. We had a good size dance floor and the DJ was able to host from the stage area. We had an unbelievably classy hors d'oeuvres table with a larger than life centerpiece which was the showpiece of the atrium. The desserts were served in the hall on a two-tiered long table with guest access all of the way around. We made use of the adjoining hall by setting up the placecard table and photo booth. Mini lights decorated the atrium and banquet hall; both adorning trees and also glittering from the ceiling in a canopy.
  
  The food received SO many compliments from the guests! We had prime rib, chicken, potatoes, veggies, the works.
  All went smoothly, from the initial appetizers, bar set up and passed appetizers, to crowd flow and dinner service.
  We couldn't have been more pleased with the smooth operation, attention to detail, and care for our family's needs. Bravo, Greek Community Center!

  We have been to many events at the Greek Community Center, and each was unique in its own way. Graduation events, Showers, Fundraisers, Meetings and Receptions. Our grandson had his wedding reception there, and it could not have been more wonderful. Picture perfect ambiance, delicious food and pastries, and a great venue for dancing, and we LOVE to DANCE! Best of all, Chris Archer always goes out of her way to make each celebration special and memorable. She is friendly, talented, most accommodating, and will find a way to make your event one of a kind.

  Talk about more bang for your buck! We had our wedding here in November and we couldn't be more pleased with that decision. Chris and her team were the most helpful and professional I have ever come across (my profession: wedding planner). I had a team ready to help clean after and they barely had to touch a thing. The food was good, the atmosphere was incredible, and Chris was so flexible in meeting with us and working with our specific (and picky) requests.
  Thank you Chris and everyone there. You made our day perfect!

  Working with the Greek Community Center and manager Chris Archer was a real pleasure and made our reception easy to plan and led to a beautiful event that all our guests raved about! We loved how accessible Chris was, and the flexibility she exhibited throughout the process and during the reception. The food was outstanding! She worked with us on menu items that where for vegetarians and people with food allergies. The hall was so very beautiful and tasteful. We have recommended the GCC to everyone we know who is planning a wedding and everyone who has used it was as satisfied as we were.

  The Greek Community Center was my reception hall and also did the catering. This lady Chris Archer was awesome. She controled everything and she even decorated the hall. She feels that no bride needs to work on her wedding day and she is very confident in what she and the center have to offer. The food was excellent and I was very impressed and happy to get leftovers. She went ahead and took care of things I forgot without even thinking. I really gave a very expensive look and feel for a very small price. Definately worth lookin into.

  We had a great traditional first class wedding for half the price of some of the venues in the area. The food was fantastic !
  The service was great and they handled all of the details. I was very impressed with the staff and far exceeded our expectations for being a Church Hall. The lighting was romantic and felt we were in a upscale ballroom. Kudos to the staff!!!
